heskeyw: When it comes to agricultural products, comparing south east to d north will be a grave insult. Its like comparing messi with anthony martial. I did my nysc in plateau, bassa lga, maingo town. There are farms as big as onitsha in the north. South east no get land nah. Only wase lga in plateau is almost as big as anambra state. Na pesn wey never go north dey compare north wt east in terms of agriculture. in miango, a local fowl is sold at the price of 400-550naira. A big he-goat costs 6k, a big pig na 8k, na dogs cheap pass. Now, hear this - The quantity of dogs in plateau state, is more than the quantity of dogs in d south east region. AustineE1: you must be high on cheap drugs! The last time i checked, Anambra produces more rice than all the states in the North with the exception of Kebbi,Anambra grows high quality vegetables and are some times exported to Europe, not to mention Ebonyi which is in a class of its own in agriculture. Left for Plateau,Benue and Taraba which are largerly agrarian states and are known as the greater middle-beltan states and not core North. You wld agree with me that the North lost it the very time the groundnut pyramids of Kano disappeared. Katsina can only boast of their cows, which are even fed in the hinterlands of the South. 33xtr33r: 'Yorubas can adapt to any situation' indeed and yet you lots shamelessly earn a living on pay-per-post basis attempting in vain to quench the call for self-determination by the Igbos.
Keep on deceiving yourselves in your hypocrisy and great delusion...
It's this fraudulent union that gave you Yoruba bigots the effrontery to rant carelessly and senselessly against Igbos.
BTW, is Lagos your father's property? Can a Yoruba man who lazy around in Alayeism fend for someone who fares better than he?
I don't blame many Yorubas who lay claim to Lagos since Yoruba enclaves of Oshogbo, Ilesha, Saki, Kisi, Ibarapa, Oye-ekiti are juju-infested.
Igbos travel to Lagos to take advantage of Yoruba visionlessness, docility and gross ineptitude. The same reason the Chinese, Lebanese, Indians, Americans and Italians troop to Lagos to create opportunities and conquer the land.
If you can't bear it no more go back to your juju-infested enclave and leave Igbos out of your miseries. You pple no go kee person wt lafta o...so u admit d fact dat there is no such opportunity in igbo land, that's good. The chinese, americans etc troop to Lagos, why not any SE state? The American and Chinese may av come to explore opportunities, go to igbo land and u'll knw dat they av to come lagos seeking greener pasture. TonyeBarcanista: @TonyeBarcanista
Since May 29, 2015 when Buhari assumed power, there is this pattern exhibited by him with respect to his pro-Northern appointments. We may laugh over it but it should call for serious attention.
I wish to lay to bring to the public's attention list of key military appointments under Buhari as President, and how he has technically turned Nigeria Armed Forces into Northern Armed Forces. Find below list of key officeholders under this administration.
1. C-in-C of The Armed Forces... Muhammadu Buhari/North
2. National Security Adviser.... Gen Munguno(North)
3. Minister of Defence... Dan Ali(North)
4. Perm. Sec Min of Defence.... Alhaji Danjuma Sheni(North)
5. Chief of Defence Staff... Gen Abayomi Olonisakin (Southwest)
6. Chief of Army Staff.... Gen T. Buratai(North)
7. Chief of Air Staff.... Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar(North)
8. Chief of Naval Staff... Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe (South)
9. The Nigerian Military Secretary (Army)....Major Gen. Mohammed Garba(North)
10. Commander, Brigade of Guard.. Brig Gen Musa Yusuf(North)
11. Chief Defence Intelligence... Gen Saliu Usman(North)
12. Director Air Intelligence... AVM Shehu Adam(North)
13. Director Military Intelligence... Brig Gen AH Sa'ad(North)
14. Director Military Information... Brig Gen Rabe Abubakar(North)
NOTE: 1. Only two key positions are held by people from the South, held by Southwest(CDS) and Southsouth(CNS).
2. The Position of Chief-of-Defence Staff is more or less a ceremonial office, as the occupant commands no real commanding power. Non of the Service Chiefs report to him, they all report to the President Directly.
3. The only influential position given to the South is Chief of Naval Staff, However the Navy is the 'least influential' among the three services of the Armed Forces. Oga, around 70% of the people in the military are from the north. |

Jesus neva instructed his followers to compete wt any other religion 4. Jesus neva competed wt any religion on anythin rather he was focused on his assignment wch was to preach the word of truth to them 5. AntiMahdi: You blame the state governors for not utilizing the 13% derivation even though the region was neglected for nearly half a century until the 13% derivation was passed into law in 2004! This is despite the fact that your leaders have decried the sharing formula which gives more to the central govt.
You erroneously assume the environmental degradation in the Niger Delta is as result of militant activities while neglecting over half a century of irresponsible drilling by oil companies which have their corporate headquarters comfortably domicilled in Lagos. An act that was decreed by the Nigeria govt after the civil war which ordered all oil companies to have their corporate headquarters located at Lagos.
You decry the level of criminality in the region while you don't see anything wrong in excluding the indigenes from employment in the oil sector and in owning oil wells . How can a Yoruba or Hausa man care about the people and Enviroment of the Niger Delta? Also, what did the Hausa Fulani Yoruba federal govt do with all the money gotten over the years from the region? Or did Abacha loot come from Gworo exports?
You then turn around and moan when indigenes are giving direct employment to secure oil infrastructure and frown at scholarship programs for ex militants that are ment to make then employable.
Is this not hypocrisy ?
Then you elect a sectional bigot who never hid his hatred for the region and who has began a militarization buildup in the region hunting down ex militants thereby breaking all agreements entered into as contained in the amnesty deal.
You didnt just stop at that but you also supported the anti democratic move of imposing stooges as elected officials for the ND which your president attempted by annulling elections in the region, declaring re runs and attempting to use thugs and military personnel to force your candidates on the people.
And now you have the audacity to threaten outright war on the Niger Delta people?
Now that you have discovered oil in Lagos, why not show us how to be a good subservient slave to the north?

TheFreeOne: Afenifere slams FG over silence on Fulani herdsmen’ killings.
Dayo Johnson Akure
THE Pan- Yoruba Socio-Political Group, Afenifere on Tuesday lashed out at the Federal government for being indifferent to the wanton killings by the Fulani herdsmen going on across the country.
Pointedly, the group wondered why government through the Information Minister Lai Muhammed said it was working silently on the matter while killings were done openly by the herdsmen. Rising from its monthly meeting held in Akure, the group rejected the statement credited to the minister saying several killing “cannot be going on openly and government is working silently”.
A communique issued at the end of the groups monthly meeting in Akure which lasted five hours was read by its spokesman Yinka Odumakin.
They said “we reject the statement of Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammed that the federal government is working silently on this matter. “Several killings cannot be going on in the open and the federal government says it’s working silently, it is unfortunate that that statement is coming from the federal government of Nigeria. “There can’t be any silent working over these killing and the action of the federal government must be opened.
They therefore called on President Muhamadu Buhari “to speak up on this matter and to take urgent action to restore the peace of people of Nigeria, especially in the south and middle belt.
Yesterday’s meeting was attended by leaders of the group across the states at the Country home of their Chairman, Pa Reuben Fasoranti
According to the Communique “The meeting is worried about recent spate of killings by Fulani herdsmen across the country as evident in Agatu killings, the murder of Olu Falae’s guard in his farm, the killings in Ibadan and the latest being the heinous murder of over 40 Nigerians in cold blood in Enugu.
“We are worried that federal government seems to have maintained indifference to the wanton killings going on across the country against the provisions of the constitution. “That the federal government has a duty to protect the lives and properties of every citizens of nigeria.
We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to speak up on this matter and to take urgent action to restore the sense of people of Nigeria, especially in the south and middle belt .
“We are also worried that the DSS which highly went to the press to say that they discover a grave in the south east where they said they found the bodies of the Fulani men without any DNA has continue to maintain silence also over these killings across the country.
“The DSS had failed to establish that the bodies is from any ethnic group. It’s an organization for all Nigerians and therefore should be concerned and should make the report on the killing across the country not just what they called the killing of people from certain ethnic among the over 250 groups in Nigeria.
“In view of the fact that Yoruba nation has have more than fair share of this siege in the country by these Fulani herdsmen, we demand immediate meeting of all South west governors irrespective of their party affiliation. ” They should ensure that they meet to device means and ways to protect the lives of their citizens and properties against these invaders who are rampaging everywhere
“We equally call on our member in the National Assembly to stand up and speak out on what is going on now so that they can be seen as true representatives of their people
“We believe that given the fact that Nigeria is threading on the path of disintegration if the issue of Fulani herdsmen is not well handled, we demand the immediate implementation of the 2014 CONFAB report which provided solutions to most of the problems confronting Nigerians including the issues of the Fulani herdsmen.
http://linkis.com/www.vanguardngr.com/3jFy7 This is a sensible group using sensible means to address d situation by conveyin their concern to d goverment sensibly while seekin in their own way to provide solution. If it were some pple, they wuld rather give ultimatum, beat chest and blame other pple. I love them tho |
