MosakuAW:
I dont get it! Are these Boko haram people greater in numbers than the Nigeria Army.

Nigeria Army show us dead bodies of BH everyday, but the numbers of BH activities soar. Are they recruiting members everyday or the Nigeria army are deluding us by showing us pictures of innocent people.

Am very sure BH members are not up to 5,000 members. If we cant win the war on our own, please let us invite the Russians and the American army to help us wipe this people away once and for all.

With all these, i doubt if the December target can be achieve. May God help us in this country.
Never say this again. the implications are terrible

Alfred Nobel:

Alfred Nobel
https://listernaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Alfred_Nobel3-227x300.jpg

The Nobel Prizes were founded by Swedish industrialist and scientist Alfred Nobel who invented dynamite in 1866. Alfred Nobel was many talents rolled in one as he worked as chemist, engineer and industrialist. Also, he could speak 5 languages fluently at the age of 17. He left 31 million Swedish kroner (today about 265 million dollar) to fund the Nobel Prizes.

#2

His Motive:

In his will dated November 27, 1895, Nobel dedicated a mammoth share of his fortune to honour work by awarding prizes in five areas - Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature, and Peace.

#3

The Medal:

https://listernaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/220px-Nobel_Prize1.png

The prize was made of the mixture of gold and silver with 24 carat or 4.8 g gold coating. The recepient of the prize, or laurate, receives a gold medal, a diploma and a sum of money, which is decided by the Nobel Foundation. As of December 2015, the monetary value of the Nobel Prize was worth more than US$1.2million. The medal itself is worth much more than the prize money awarded to the laurates. The Nobel Peace Prize Medal was designed by Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland and shows Alfred Nobel in a pose slightly different from that of the other medals.

#4

Sixth Award:

In 1968, a sixth award for Economics was added by the Bank of Sweden in the memory of Alfred Nobel. The Prizes are announced in advance but distributed every year on December 10 to mark the death anniversary of Alfred Nobel.

#5

Rejecting The Award:

Till now, two have voluntarily declined to accept Nobel - Jean Paul Sartre for Literature in 1964 and Le Duc Tho for Peace in 1937. Le Duc Tho rejected the award given to him for Paris Peace Accords saying here was no actual peace in Vietnam.

In 1958, Boris Pasternak was awarded the Nobel in Literature. He first accepted the Nobel Prize but later declined the prize fearing the Soviet authorities.

#6

Youngest Awardee:

The youngest age to achieve the Nobel Prize was 17 years old by Malala Yousufzai, a Pakistani child education activist. She is known mainly for human rights advocacy for education and for women in her native Swat Valley in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of northwest Pakistan, where the local Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school.

#7

Oldest Peace Prize Laureate:

The oldest Nobel Peace Prize Laureate to date is Joseph Rotblat, who was 87 years old when he was awarded the Prize in 1995.

#8

Multiple Nobel Peace Prize Laureates:

The work of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been honoured the most - three times - by a Nobel Peace Prize. In addition, the founder of the ICRC, Henry Dunant, was awarded the first Nobel Peace Prize in 1901.

#9

Nobel Prize Family:

The Curies (Marie and Pierre Curie) comprised a very successful 'Nobel Prize family'. Marie Curie herself was awarded two Nobel Prizes - In 1903, she along with Pierre Curie was awarded half the Nobel Prize in Physics. In 1911 she was awarded the Prize in Chemistry.

#10

Years No prizes Were Awarded:

It was not awarded on 19 occasions: in 1914-1916, 1918, 1923, 1924, 1928, 1932, 1939-1943, 1948, 1955-1956, 1966-1967 and 1972.

Why were the Peace Prizes not awarded in those years? In the statutes of the Nobel Foundation it says: "If none of the works under consideration is found to be of the importance indicated in the first paragraph, the prize money shall be reserved until the following year. If, even then, the prize cannot be awarded, the amount shall be added to the Foundation's restricted funds." During World War I and II, fewer Nobel Prizes were awarded.

#11

Number Of Prizes Awarded:

128 Nobel Peace Prizes have been awarded since 1901. So far, 567 Nobel Prizes have been awarded between 1901 and 2014 to - to 103 individuals and 25 organizations.

#12

The Inscription On The Prize:

The inscription on the Nobel Peace medal reads- "Pro pace et fraternitate gentium," which means - "For the peace and brotherhood of men." The main inscription on one side of the medal for Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, and Literature Nobel Prizes reads: "Inventas vitam juvat excoluisse per artes," which in loose translation means - "And they who bettered life on earth by new found mastery."
The verbatim translation is - "inventions enhance life which is beautified through art."

#13

Image On The Prize:

The Nobel medal features the image of Alfred Nobel on the face. The image on the reverse varies according to the institution awarding the prize.

#14

Committee Countries Conducting The Awards:

Alfred Nobel signed his third and last will at the Swedish-Norwegian Club in Paris. In his will, Alfred Nobel didn't explain as to why the Nobel Peace Prize was to be awarded by a Norwegian committee while the other four prizes were to be handled by Swedish committees. The Nobel Prizes for Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature and Economics are awarded at a ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden, while the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded at a different ceremony in Oslo, Norway.

#15

Nominated but not Awarded:

The three most common searches on individuals in the Peace Prize nomination database are Adolf Hitler, Mahatma Gandhi and Joseph Stalin.

Joseph Stalin, the Secretary General of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (1922-1953), was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1945 and 1948 for his efforts to end World War II.

Mahatma Gandhi, one of the strongest symbols of non-violence in the 20th century, was nominated in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947 and, finally, shortly before he was assassinated in January 1948. Although Gandhi was not awarded the Prize (a posthumous award is not allowed by the statutes), the Norwegian Nobel Committee decided to make no award that year on the grounds that "there was no suitable living candidate".

#16

The Nobel Diplomas:

Each Diploma is a unique work of art, created by foremost Swedish and Norwegian artists and calligraphers. The prize-awarding bodies decide the design of the diplomas. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is responsible for the Physics and Chemistry diplomas, and since 1969 also for the Economics diploma. The Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet is responsible for the Physiology or Medicine diploma, the Swedish Academy for the Literature diploma and the Norwegian Nobel Committee for the diploma presented to the winners of the Peace Prize.

Jobs/Vacancies › 5 Actions To Avoid After A Job Interview by PerfectlyPerfect(op): 7:26pm On Sep 29, 2015
You have gone for the job interview, you did your best and your CV and your credentials show you have the qualifications for the job. The interviewer said you’ll hear from then soon but more than a week has passed and your phone still hasn’t rung and you’re getting impatient.
That’s what job seekers pass through.
When you’re waiting to hear back from interviewers about a job, time seems to be passing at a miserably slow pace, and each passing day can be torture.

Being anxious at this stage may actually harm your chances of getting the job and may drive you to actions that may impact negatively on you.
Below are 5 negative actions anybody may be tempted to do when waiting to get a reply on something, but should never do.

#1
Always Be Available In Case Of A Follow-Up:

If you wont be available for a few days after the interview, and you are in the final stages of the interview, it will be in your best interest to let the interviewer know.
This does not mean you should postpone every other activity during the wait.
Not being available may be misread by the interviewer as disinterest in your part. You risk them contacting you with an offer, not hearing back an moving on to other applicants.

If you wont be available for a while, just send your interviewer a quick email to inform them and let them know of your return date.

#2
Never Stop Trying Out For and Interviewing For Other Jobs:

https://listernaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/job-interview-300x167.jpg
No matter how suited for the job you might be, no matter how the interview went, an no matter how positive the interviewer’s attitude may be on you getting the job, never presume that you’ve gotten the job. A better candidate can always come up, someone may pay a hefty sum to secure the position, the company might decide not to hire any more and many other factors may arise and wreck your chances of getting the offer.
Until you truly have an offer, don’t assume on getting any particular job. Keep putting as much effort as you would as if you knew you wont get this job to avoid squandering valuable time you could have spent on talking to other employers.

#3
Don’t Lie About A Nonexistent Offer:

https://listernaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/why-lie-300x271.gif
An occasion may arise where candidate, in a bid to increase his presumed worth or for some other reason, will concoct an offer, hoping it will speed up the process and increase his chances of getting an offer.
This is a risky move because there is a probability that the interviewer would eliminate you from the options because they may not be able to speed up the process and would not want to prevent you from taking an offer with another establishment .

#4
Don’t Worry Too Much When You’ve Not Yet Gotten A Reply:

https://listernaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/worry-300x199.jpg

They not called for a while, does that mean they have hired someone else? Does it mean they’re no longer interested?

Being too obsessed with the outcome of the interview may do you more harm than good. Being fixated on the outcome of the interview would not help your chances of getting an offer in any way, but will instead make you depressed. as an alternative, make a reminder on your phone or email of a subsequent date in future to check in with them if you have not heard back. Or else, leave it to be a pleasant surprise if you finally get an offer.

#5
Avoid Checking Up On Them Excessively:

It takes a lot of time to go through a lot of candidates and making a selection, which makes the process of hiring much longer than both the candidates and the interviewers expect. During the wait, you might be tempted to check up on the interviewer more times than you actually should.
You could end up putting a dent in the good image you put up during the interview process.
That means you should avoid sending them emails repeatedly when you don’t get a reply to your first email after a day or two, call recurrently or check up on them when the selection is still in progress.
An employer who wants to hire you will inform you when you are needed. They will usually give you a period of time to expect a reply, and when that time frame has passed without you hearing from them, you can then check up on them.

Pets › 6 Dogs That Pulled Off Super-human Exploits by PerfectlyPerfect(op): 12:01pm On Aug 21, 2015
Dogs have always been regarded as man's best friend. And they are; with their barking when they sense danger, and going all superhero when the situation calls for it, just to protect our miserly asses. Below are 5 dogs who pulled off super-human stunts:

#1
Togo, the Siberian Husky:

Togo was the lead sled dog of a team owned by a man named Leonhard Seppala, a Norwegian that worked for a mining company in Alaska.
In 1925, a huge outbreak of diphtheria erupted in remote Alaska, and since there weren't exactly a whole lot of roads available, the only way to deliver medicine was by dog sled. Togo was made the leader of a trip to cross the frozen tundra of Alaska to deliver the antitoxin, braving -35 (Celsius) degree weather with a -65 (Celsius) degree wind chill. And he did it across 84 miles in a single day.
That night, Togo slept for just six hours before heading out again at 2am in a balmy -80(Celsius) degree headwind, journeying along an ice-laden shoreline that was breaking beneath his feet before finally giving the serum to the next team, a plucky group of huskies led by a dog named Balto.

Yes, even though Togo traveled a much longer distance under more extreme conditions, Balto got the cartoon because he happened to be the one that brought the medicine the rest of the way. Life's so cruel.

#2
Sergeant Stubby:

Stubby was a terrier mix. He was found on the Yale campus in 1917 and smuggled aboard the USS Minnesota by his owner, John Robert Conroy, to fight in World War 1. Stubby officially entered service in February 5, 1918, and fought in the French trenches for 18 months.
Not content with merely joining the Army and surviving a World War, Stubby the dog also managed to become a bonafide hero. He actually earned that rank, "Sergeant", meaning a cadre of superior officers decided he was eligible for promotion over other qualified, battle-hardened human beings. Why?
One, he was able to warn his unit of incoming artillery attacks thanks to his dog-hearing, and after being hit by a chlorine attack he became very sensitive to the smell of gas. So much so that he could accurately detect it in the air before it hit lethal dosage, barking wildly until the soldiers put their masks on.
Stubby also managed to save many people from "no-mans land," the open stretches of land between trenches, by listening for people shouting in English and then either leading medics to the wounded or guiding the wounded back to their trench.
Most amazingly, Stubby managed to single-handedly capture a German spy hiding in a bush in no-man's land and making a map of the Allied trenches. Stubby started barking to alert the Allied soldiers, and when the spy ran, Stubby chased him down and bit the shit out of him, subduing him until the Allied soldiers arrived.

#3

Smoky The Yorkshire Terrier:
Smoky was a Yorkshire Terrier that was found in an abandoned foxhole in New Guinea in 1944 by American soldiers. Because Smoky was not an "official" war dog, the Army would not feed him or even give him medical aid if he got shot. So his owner shared his rations and kept Smoky in his tent, which worked out for the owner's benefit. While on a transport ship, Smoky guided his owner to cover after hearing the whistle of incoming artillery shells over the booming of the ship's cannons.

#4
Saint Guinefort:

Guinefort was a greyhound owned by a French knight in the 13th century and, just to be clear, is an actual saint, despite the Church's insistence that dogs have no souls.
One day, the knight went hunting and left his infant child in the care of Guinefort the dog. Though I wonder how the dog got a qualification as a baby-sitter. When he returned, his house was torn up, his baby was missing, and Guinefort's face was covered in blood. Assuming Guinefort had eaten his kid, the knight chopped the dog's head off, only to find the baby safely in a corner of the room next to the mutilated corpse of a viper.
The knight and his family were so distressed about killing their faithful friend that they buried him in a well and built a shrine around it, and Guinefort became a saint for infants, protecting them from the evils of the world.

#5
Endal The Golden Retriever:

Despite having a name that rhymes with "end all" (end all slippers, homework etc), Endal one heck of a pooch. Endal was a British Labrador Retriever that worked as a service dog helping a Gulf War veteran named Allen Parton, who had very serious head injuries that made him unable to create new memories.
Endal was given the title, "Dog of the Millennium" because he was a genius even by human standards. Since the severely brain damaged and wheelchair-bound Parton could do virtually nothing for himself, Endal had to learn a lot of things that, quite frankly, dogs have no business doing.
He could get stuff from grocery store shelves, he learned Parton's PIN number and could use the ATM machine, he was able to operate the washing machine and he could fetch different household items based on specific gestures. He could also use the elevator, open train doors and, like most dogs, get the paper.
In case that wasn't awesome enough, he managed to make national headlines in 2001 when Allen Parton was hit by a car and thrown from his wheelchair. Endal pulled him to safety and put him into the recovery position, ready for the paramedics. Endal then ran back into the street to get Parton's cell phone...
Though, he wasn't able to call for help on the phone (imagine if he could?!?) but he did find a blanket to cover Parton with, and then ran into a nearby hotel, barking until someone figured out what was going on and called for an ambulance.

#6
Chips The Husky-Collie-German Shepherd Mix:

Despite having a totally confusing mixed-up genealogy, Chips managed to accomplish something few humans could every dream possible. He was shipped off to fight the Axis in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany as a sentry dog.
During the invasion of Sicily, Chips and Pvt. John Rowell, his handler, were pinned down on a beach by machine gun fire. Chips managed to free himself from Rowell, jumped into the bunker the Italians were firing from and attacked them.
The dog won. The Italians were forced to surrender to the Americans rather than have their throats torn out.
Amazingly, later that day, Chips captured 10 more Italian soldiers, maybe because they all forgot they were carrying guns but more likely because Chips was, pound for pound, the most badass soldier in the war.
For his heroic actions, Chips was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart, though he was later stripped of his medals because he was a dog. After the war, he returned home to his family and a Disney movie was produced in his honor.

Cell phones are one of the signs that mankind is really advancing. They make access to information very easy and ever available at the push of a button. But even with all these advances, there is always room for improvements. Below are some technologies you may soon have in your cell phone:

#1
Smell and See Diseases:

When diseases such as cancer is mentioned in the same sentences as cell phones, it always portrays cell phones as the bad guys stating that they can cause cancer. Scientists at NASA have decided to reduce the guilt currently being suffered by cellphones worldwide by giving phones the ability to smell diseases. They produces a tiny sensor that, once installed in your phone, detect and analyze the chemicals in your breath. The chip is about the size of a nickel and works with 32 sensors that allow it to "smell" predetermined levels of various chemicals. Said chemicals, incidentally, include chlorine, carbon monoxide, ammonia and methane -- coincidentally, all these are components of a fart. Opportunity for app developers to create an app that will be in high demand worldwide - a fart detection app!
The phone will be able to determine whether they have a number of diseases, including lung cancer and diabetes by analyzing the chemical levels in someone's breath.

#2
Scanning Food For Bacteria:

UCLA has created a handy cellphone add-on that can be easily attached to the phone's camera. Through several filters and something called a "quantum dot," the device uses fluorescent imaging to detect the level of dangerous E. coli strands on your food. An even bigger bonus is the fact that the device mercifully neglects to notice any other bacteria you have on your food ... because honestly, if you saw the truth, you'd probably never willingly eat again.

#3
Therapist Apps:

An app was developed to help treat depression. It's called Mobilyze, you install it in your phone and it can tell what your mental state is. It watches your whole life: The system gathers data from GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and accelerometers -- all standard fare in most smartphones. Through special algorithms, Mobilyze uses this data to determine if you're showing signs of depression, and reacts accordingly.
So if your phone's GPS says you haven't been leaving the house, or your Wi-Fi displays abnormal activity, Mobilyze will start sending you motivational texts and recorded messages in an attempt to get you to pick yourself up and venture out into the world. If that sounds trite and silly to you, the research says the process actually works. Like a boss.
Researchers at Northwestern University installed Mobilyze in the phones of several seriously depressed patients. By the time the experiment period was over, each and every participant was showing a much better mood.

See Through Solid Objects:

Seeing through solid objects is tops on almost everyone's "Awesome things i wish i could do" list, mostly for despicable reasons. Fortunately, (Or unfortunately), this has only been confined to our imaginations, until now.

We've actually had the technology to see through solid objects for a while now. Electromagnetic waves at the terahertz range are capable of penetrating molecules that optical light can't touch, and with special equipment, this can be used to see through solid objects. That's how those airport security scanners see right through your clothes, though this has always had the problem of needing a lot of power and complex lenses to work and isn't pocket-friendly. Until now.
A research team at UT Dallas has found that they can build a much smaller, more effective version of current terahertz devices using little more than a modern computer microchip, and they decided to stick it to a mobile phone. They have a ready-to-use technology to see through walls, clothes ... the works. The company had the moral ethics to set the see-through visibility to just four inches. It also pays to remember that the 4-inch range is due to a decision by the researchers, not an actual technical limitation. There will be nothing stopping competition from removing this limit once the product hits the market. And given the way free commerce works, the "see everyone naked forever" chip should be available to order online roughly 0.02 seconds after this thing hits the stores.

Once in a while, we have to stop and remind ourselves that that terrifying animal who would so much want to have you as lunch may also be the key to your salvation. Nature has produced a myriad of creatures of various forms and sizes and, apart from giving them freaky claws and fangs, also bestowed special qualities upon them and which humans have discovered how to take advantage of. Some of these are listed below:

Cobra Venom May Stop HIV and Multiple Sclerosis:

Cobras...badasses of the animal kingdom. They are the worst things anyone wants to see and getting bitten by one of them is the second most unfortunate thing that can happen to anyone, right after getting hit by a comet (according to my list of unfortunate occurrences). Cobras are the devil. Did you know they spit venom at your eyes, the second worst place you can get snake venom? If you get enough of it in your system, get ready to enjoy pain, necrosis and maybe even paralysis, as the toxins bind themselves to neuromuscular junctions, blocking communication between the central nervous system and your muscles. Because mercy is for the weak, and an enemy deserves no mercy.
How could something so terrifying make life better?

Well, scientists think that part of what makes venom so nasty is that it suppresses the body's ability to fight back by hampering the immune system's normal healing process. So if you had a disease caused by an overactive immune system, a chemical that slows it down would help keep this in check.
This could work for diseases like HIV and Multiple sclerosis as they both destroy the immune system. Snake venom could, in theory, keep that self-destructive process in check, if only it wasn't, you know, incredibly toxic (because it's snake venom). Fortunately, a company has patented a process for removing the paralyzing part of the venom, and what's left hinders the development of multiple sclerosis in mice.
For HIV, the venom latches on to the same receptors as the HIV virus and therefore muscles the virus out of the way

Crocodile Blood for MRSA and HIV:

Have you ever seen a crocodile die from wounds gotten while fighting other crocs or other animals despite living in a swamp? That's the same things scientists have been wondering and being scientists, they grabbed some unfortunate croc, stuck a syringe in his hide and drew blood for their experiments. They found out that while human blood could kill eight of the 23 strains of bacteria they attacked it with, alligator blood killed all 23, including antibiotic-resistant MRSA. It turns out the crocodile's whole immune system is organized differently from ours. According to Australian scientist Adam Britton, "The crocodile has an immune system which attaches to bacteria and tears it apart and it explodes." These tests showed that a drug derived from crocodiles could be effective in curing most of the diseases that plague the human race
Later tests also showed it killed the HIV virus though a lot more tests have to be done, so don't start injecting yourself with crocodile blood.

Vampire Bat Saliva To Cure Stroke:

Say vampire bats and Count Dracula comes to mind. Vampire bats don't actually suck blood. They bite and lick up the blood oozing from the wound. Though its a tiny wound, it bleeds for hours, though on a normal basis, the would should scab over in at most an hour. But it doesn't. And you bleed and bleed like a leaky faucet and keep wondering why you're still bleeding from such a tiny wound. The wound takes so long to stop bleeding because vampire bat spit contains a blood thinner that keeps the blood flowing.
So how does this help you?
The same features of vampire bat saliva that turns you into a borehole can also help save your life in the event that you suffer a stroke. Strokes are usually caused by a blood vessel getting blocked thereby blocking blood supply to the brain. If you get to a hospital, the doctors can administer a medicine to break up the clot as fast as possible, but only if it's been no longer than three hours since the symptoms started. At that point, there's still a chance they can dissolve the clot and protect the brain from further damage, but the medicine also has a 1-in-15 chance of causing bleeding to the brain, so maybe they save your motor functions but flood your brain with blood and kill you.
That's where vampire bat saliva comes in. A kind of protein has been found in vampire bat saliva that can bust clots for up to nine hours after the onset of a stroke. So bat saliva can be the difference between a healthy active life and a bed-ridden existence.

Pit Viper Venom To Reduce High Blood Pressure:

Pit vipers are one of nature's silent assassins. Just like the Hitman video games, but a lot cooler and without the unnecessary baggage of weapons. Its fangs are like a hypodermic needle and can deliver a potent venom that can cause a lot of nasty things, including something called compartment syndrome. Compartment syndrome squeezes muscles into a dense space until it suffocates and dies.

Though this has nothing to do with this entry but we just wanted you to know just how nasty a bite from a pit viper can be. the victim collapses in a heap because of a sudden drop in blood pressure. The venom then causes causes the blood vessels to dilate and your insides to hemorrhage. In the 1960s, researchers discovered that the venom contains a protein that blocks angiotensin-converting enzyme, or ACE which is the enzyme that keeps your blood pressure at the right level. Block it and your blood pressure falls; block it enough and you die. in the 1960s, researchers figured out why: The venom contains a protein that blocks angiotensin-converting enzyme, or ACE. That's the enzyme that keeps your blood pressure at the right level. Block it and your blood pressure falls; block it enough and you die. So can a serum be created from pit viper venom to reduce blood pressure? That's exactly what the pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb did in 1975. By the early '80s, people had access to a drug that would reduce the blood pressure with its most common side effect being a cough.

Bacteria Repellant Materials Designed From Shark Skin

Sharks, terror of the deep and man's number one enemy in the deep seas. They look at you with their beady brown eyes and you just know they yarn to take a bite out of you with their razor-sharp teeth. Though more people are killed by cows than by sharks every year, you still can't get rid of the shivers that creep down your spine when you view a shark even in an aquarium. This irrational fear of sharks have kept us from noticing something about them, noting sticks to their skin. Whales on the other hand usually have so many barnacles on their backs that they look like suits of armor. It turns out that a shark's skin has special denticles to repel everything from it. That's because their skin isn't skin skin, it's scales. Their skin are smooth when rubbed in one way and rough when rubbed in the oposite direction. That's because the scales are arranged in a diamond pattern that creates an air cushion when you rub them toward the tail, but go rough when you rub them toward the head. Scientists discovered that its unique texture makes it hard for the tiny organisms to attach themselves to it. Scientists were able to replicate the pattern and covered navy ships and submarines in it and it has helped in repelling algae. The pattern can also be used on the surface of hospital materials to prevent bacteria from growing on them because 99,000 Americans a year die from infections they got in hospitals.
