How successful or effective will this new party APC be in 2015? From my own understanding, their main aim is to remove PDP from the presidential seat in 2015 after which they can be able to control the supposedly president to favour them. I am not quite comfortable with this move because I feel they might be worse than PDP having in mind that Power intoxicates. They are all birds with the same feathers. My take is that the chances of APC winning the Presidency in 2015 may be 60%..So let’s hear your own opinions. |
watchinglagos: The Third Mainland Bridge is in dire need of rehabilitation as repairs executed by the Ministry of Works did not meet the required standard, a senator has said.On the bolded...who is to blame?Am sure huge money was spent to carry out the assessment. It seems the assessment was done after the work has been completed. This is medicine after death. Assessments should be done before ,during and after the repair works. If this new findings are true then,we are is deep soup... |

(CNN) -- Everyone has a birthday. A joyful day for receiving presents from family and friends, for blowing out candles on a cake as you celebrate your arrival on this earth. Some people even have two, such as Britain's Queen Elizabeth II -- one to mark the date of her birth, and one to celebrate the anniversary of her coronation. But soccer player Chancel Mbemba Mangulucan top that. He appears to haves four "birthdays" -- and it has caused him a lot of problems. So much so that football's world governing body FIFA has now started an investigation. "We are currently analysing all the documents at our disposal and investigations against the relevant entities are on-going," FIFA told CNN on Thursday. "In view of this, we cannot comment any further." Mbemba was part of the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) squad for the Africa Cup of Nations -- considered one of the toughest tournaments in world soccer -- but, before that, confusion over his date of birth almost put an end to his dreams of a career with a top European club. Footballing maverick on giving back Zambia Cup victory unites country Mbemba was registered by his two first Congolese clubs as being born in 1988, according to documents obtained by CNN. Yet for a Cup of Nations qualifier in June 2011, his year of birth was listed as November 30, 1991. Meanwhile, the birth date recorded by his Belgian club Anderlecht is August 8, 1994. Just to complicate matters, Mbemba himself, thinks he was born in 1990. The story continues on http://edition.cnn.com/2013/02/01/sport/football/age-african-football-mbemba/index.html |

Obasanjo Lays Foundation Stone of Private Refinery in Bayelsa Published by: This Day (Lagos) October 22, 2002 Posted to the web October 22, 2002 Lagos President Olusegun Obasanjo at the weekend laid the foundation stone of the country's first privately-owned refinery, at Agge in Bayelsa. Obasanjo, who was represented by Mr Funsho Kupolokun, his special assistant on petroleum, said that the establishment of private refineries in the country had the capacity to inject massive funds into the economy. The president said that the setting up of the TONWEI™ refinery would end product scarcity in the immediate community and its environs, just as it would also facilitate the springing up of ancilliary industries. According to him, "when TONWEI™ refinery becomes operational and even during the construction stage, it would generate hundreds of employment opportunities for Nigerians, including people in the local community." Obasanjo said that in opting for the liberalisation of the oil industry, his administration intended to rid the sector of monopoly in the supply and distribution chains. He said that the aim was to encourage private individuals and corporate bodies with the wherewithal and the technical capability to invest in the petroleum sector, so that with time the problems associated with the industry would be solved. Against this backdrop, Obasanjo said that all the barriers hindering the entry of new investors into the oil sector were to be removed. The president advised the promoters of the proposed refinery to spare no efforts in ensuring that it comes on stream on schedule. Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, who was the chairman on the occasion, described the project as a dividend of democracy, which according to him will transform the landscape of Agge. Mantu called on the people to see the project as theirs, as it is owned by their son. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the refinery, Timi George Tongubor, said that the project would cost 1.5 billion dollars. Bayelsa Governor, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, who represented Gov. Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, said that the project would create employment opportunities for the people. As we speak, the refinery has been swept under the carpet Birds of the same feather flock together..Its more of Pot calling kettle black |
Area_boy: How long is this drama gonna last? They claim to want to save money for the country by choosing SHI. Or are they just making sure they get something enormous for their own pockets out of this massive project?Based on the Nigerian Content Law, I think HHI had an upper hedge, that was why they were the preferred bidder. However, some greedy Nigerian Politician felt they aren't gonna benefit from it in terms of money(Niaja way nah),so decided to force Samsung on Total. What they need to do is set up a local company as the Local partner for Samsung.bty HHI already has a registrated entity in Nigeria.I know they have a base in Bayelsa. The bottom line is that the powers that be are causing this wahala because of their personal gain. |
No it is not proper No matter your age, what will be will be. I remember at age 30, I went to the UK to study for my Masters program based on the following: 1. I couldnt apply for graduate positions here in Nigeria because of my age.Mind you I don apply tire for Naija sotey I pass age 27.. ..2. I needed to upgrade my status in other to make a head way in the job market 3. Probably come back to Nigeria and excel in my career as a post graduate experienced personnel. In the UK,I found out that age was never a barrier cos I got a couple of interviews for graduate positions. However,I was NOT able to hit a dream job in the likes of Exxonmobil, Shell,Chevron, Schlumberger etc.Getting fustrated,I decided to return to Nigeria, within 6 months I got a job.Right now I am doing well in an Oil and Gas company.I did not enter as a graduate but got a job as a manager. So my advice is please,do not reduce your age |
I dey pity the guy |
