Wow..... useful tips.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

beeijeoma:
Shopping for baby as a FTM

It is exciting to shop for baby as a FTM and it is really easy to end up buying things you don't need. I would advise buying good quality stuff as you can use them for your other kids. The items you need to buy are

1 Baby clothing
Babies experience growth spurts a couple of times in their first year of life and the standard sizing for their clothes is as follows. I buy mostly Carters and Gerber because they are of good quality and not too expense
Newborn----- I bought newborn items when I had my first and my kid wore it for 1 month before it became too small. Limit the number of items you buy 2 or 3 is fine
0 to 3 months
3 to 6 months
6 to 9 months
9 to 12 months
The items I bought are
Sleepsuits 7
Bodysuit 7
Shawl/Blanket 2 large and 2 small
Mittens 1 they keep falling off I use socks as mitten
Socks 10 to 12 I don't buy shoes till my kids are about 9 months so they wear socks a lot and socks are usually age 0 to 6 months or 0 to 12 months
Going out outfits . I buy just 4 when they are 0 to 3 months and increase the number as they get older
Hats 3
Bibs 4

Baby bath items
Baby bath invest in a strong one you can use for other kids
Towel 2
Face flannel or towel 4
Sponge 1
Baby soap . I prefer liquid soap to bar soap . Bar soap melts quickly and can become messy. Liquid also last longer . If you soap your baby in the morning and decide to give a night bath you do not need to use soap again. Using too much soap can dry out the baby's skin
Baby lotion
Baby oil
Vaseline (unscented) I use this as a barrier cream for the diaper area to prevent rashes. Use it after bathing and at every diaper change
Note do not buy baby powder the general consensus is that it can cause respiratory problems for babies

Baby feeding
Baby bottles 8 ------I buy a lot of this because I wash and sterilize all the bottles myself at the end of the day . If I am not there whoever is feeding baby just picks the bottle and use . I do this to prevent baby getting sick from bottles that are nit well sterilized
Breast pump------------------I buy manual electric is too expensive for me .
Milton sterilizing tablets/ Sterilizer----------- I buy the sterilizing tablets
Hot water flask

Baby Accessories
Baby bed -------------- Its not a necessity for me . I co sleep with my babies. It is easy this way because of bf exclusively
Baby wardrobe --------Not necessary if you have a wardrobe that has space
Baby carrier -------------Not compulsory the only time I bought it I ended up returning it to the store . I just wasn't comfortable
Baby rocker---- Its a good investment as baby can play and sleep in there
Diapers------------ Do not buy too many of the smallest size as babies overgrow them quickly. I buy just 1 box of size 1 and more of size 2 and so on
Wipes------------- Unscented is best just in case your baby has allergies
Comb-------Buy a good comb with blunt teeth . There is nothing like baby comb its usually more expensive and no different from a standard comb
Baby bag----To me this is optional I only bought with my first. Any standard bag will do. The only plus here is that the baby bags come with a changing mat which is quite useful
Push chairs / strollers---------------------------Not needed only useful if you live outside Nigeria
Car seat-------------Good if you have a car

This is just from my personal experience and it is not a comprehensive list
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Am Tired...someone Should Help Me Before I Kill Myself. by Pesb(m): 2:53am On Oct 22, 2019
Nigeria is not easy for workers not to talk of someone who is not working.

I understand your eagerness to get something doing. That alone is good.

Some of your mates are still dragging food with their younger ones.

But you decided to leave the comfort of your home. This is your first victory.

Please be patient.

Since you are presently in Abuja.

I suggest you start with after-school tutoring (lesson teacher).

I would give you 2 tips on how you can go about it.

Step1:

Reach out to educational consultants that provides these part time after-school teaching services to Abuja residents.

They recruit part time teachers all the time and send them to their clients' homes to teach/tutor their children/wards.

At the end of the month, they share the fees/income/charge with you.

The sharing formula is usually,

60/40

Or

70/30

Or

50/50

Note:

The higher percentage goes to you while they keep the other.

For example: The company gets the contract for 50,000 naira a month......at month end, you are given 30k while they keep 20k.

Most times, these classes are usually held 3 times in a week or 4 times in a week depending on the agreement.

Interestingly, tutors do take 2 or more of these contracts/jobs.....and average between 50k to 100k monthly.

Since you are a graduate, you are qualified.

It doesn't matter if you have background in education or not.

Most times, your clients are primary school pupils (You teach them after they return from school)

These part time lessons last for 2 hours on the average.

2. This is another way you can get into this:

Go to a computer business centre, and ask them to design an advert for you. For example.

First
class
tutors.

We teach all subjects from pry 1-6.jss 1-3, ss1-3.
Private jamb, GCE, Prep. Etc.

Call: ****************
Address: home address or uncle/friend office/shop address.

This is a very simple sketch.

Yours should be better than mine.

It's a serious business.

Make copies of these Ads.

Anytime you are going to town, paste it in residential places, along busy roads, around schools etc.

You have done your path, pray to God, to bring you clients.

This way, you have cut off middle men or consultant/agents.

You can start with low service charge for your new clients/prospects like within the range of 30k to 50k a month for 2 children (2 hours or 3 hours max) depending on the location.

Have like 2 or 3 families you service.....you are good to go. (Least, 30k * 3 = 90k monthly)

Before you know it, more families will be coming through your adverts or through recommendations from existing clients.

By the time, you start having more clients, you will be needing supporting hands.

At this point, you start recruiting teachers to help you..........at least from here, you know how to organise your new company.

I really wish you the best.

Don't quit trying.

You must make it.

God bless you.

Nigerians are bulldogs.....

Only perfect in Barking but can not bite.

The day we decide to face our problems practically, then, our liberty is guaranteed.

"The president goes practical in all his actions our while Nigerians respond theoretically" (hiding behind social media) to address very sensitive issues that affects us and our unborn children now and forever.

He has seen the fear in us.....he will never stop treating the masses like rags.

When you fear death, you can never claim braveness.

Tip:
Stop fighting yourselves on tribal sentiments. Your leaders are your problems.

Channel your grievances openly to them.

They didn't elect themselves.....you put them there.

They must be held accountable for all their actions, good or bad.

Cheers

You are not on track! Start from security+ or CISM. I really don't know why people think that by learning python, they are on track or you start from there for a career path in cybersecurity.

Python will only help you with hacking. Cybersecurity is more than hacking.

There are lots of ethics you need to know in cybersecurity.

I will advise you to start from SECURITY+ or CISM. Take it a step at a time. Don't rush it!
Thanks for your response.....

What's the learning path like?

Security+ ...
What comes after? Till one becomes an expert?

I think the OP must have read one book and he got carried away.

And the next thing that came to his mind was to open a thread on nairaland on sensitive matter like this to see if he can get people to "reason with him" according to Paul okoye of Psquare.

My dear, Education is very very important.

If a larger number of Nigerians were educated..... honestly, we won't be in this social, economic and political mess.

Please embrace education, preach it to all...... education is good. No Alternative.

If the OP wasn't educated.....we won't be talking about this thread.

Plz OP appreciate the benefits you have derived from education and stop depriving our younger generation from benefiting too.

Take care!
