This is how it should be.......not social media blackmail. We want a society that is healthy, not where sensationalism is the reign of the day, where all parties are accountable for their actions within the purview of the law.

I feel it's mainly their unlimited ODU bundles , its having difficulty opening some websites, even gaming ping is poor. I tested it with my regular Airtel sim, put it in my ODU, and I don't have similar issues. Gaming is better and superior. With the ODU sim I was having 70-85ms ping in CODM, while with my regular calling sim, I was having 25-40ms.
I hope they improve the ODU experience. This is beyond the speed because am having maximum speed but the server

It's a universal version
One thing I like about the x25 pro is that it has alot of 5G and LTE bands. It's WiFi coverage is strong. Network coverage is equally strong. But occasionally, I do have network issues or downtime on it when I was using Airtel Unlimited 20.
In terms of Network experience/performance for me
ZLT x17m: excellent (very rare network downtime )
ZLT x25 pro: Great (occasionally downtime)
ZTE g5f: Good( frequent network downtime, had to be carrying laptop up and down writing cell locking script, also has the least number of 4G and 5G bands)

Of course Starlink, as it's truly unlimited. No data cap, no speed cap. I have used up to 2.7TB in a month. I know someone that have used up to 11TB in a month. Whatever speed is available is what you get. Airtel ODU is a good backup for when Starlink is performing poorly, especially during the daytime.
Thats good...... Airtel ODU is our little moonlink

That's not the point of this conversation. We are talking about Airtel ODU's 50Mbps plan and its speed.
I have been using Starlink since February 2023, currently using the Gen3 v4 system. Starlink can be quite slow and annoying sometimes, especially for those of us who live in Abuja or Lagos, as these two cities have reached capacity. that's why I got the Airtel ODU.

Below is a speed test I just carried out on my Starlink. In the dead of the night, I get over 300 to 400Mbps.
Which do you prefer

Abeg between the ZTE and ZLT ODU which is the best to go with?
Considering most people will be on the 50mbps plan.....Both is good. I live in a purely 4g environment with average ok network. I have done several test between them, put both in the same location and connect them to the same LTE bands and frequency.
What I noticed is that the ZLT connect to Airtel power LTE band 7 better than the ZTE. And it's easier to lock a good cell on it than the ZTE. It also has better speed. But for gaming I think the ZTE is mildly better. Both is still average for mobile gaming but perfect for streaming. I put a regular sim in both, connect both to the same bands for fairness, did speedtest. This is what I got
The ZLT consistently achieve better download and upload speed than the ZTE. If you live in a poor network environment, go for the ZLT. If you want to go purely by specs, go with ZTE

This is the Band 7
Have you locked the cell here..... because I was expecting to see more frequency bands. Though it's a quality cell with that high SiNR, yet the RSRP negative value is high, meaning it will rarely be stable and available. Try and move it around and see if by chance you can reduce the RSRP negative values.

I see only one, and I have monitored it.

The new band 1 (250) has 271, 255, and 1 more. I may be wrong about these figures though, as I have not written them down. My problem with it is that the signal is very very poor in my location.

I was able to use the Install Helper app for the ZTE ODU to get 'Medium' signal with quality rating of between 18 to 23 for the band 7. During the day, it's fast and reliable, but not so much during the night.

The bands 3 and 8 are readily and fully available but are below par in performance, most times.
Can you give a screenshot of your network report showing the bands, frequencies, PCI.....that will help to understand better

Is there any cell other than 491 on this band 7?

I have noticed what someone said here is true. All bands perform abysmally at night. Maybe it's my location but that's irritating and totally frustrating.

Interestingly, switching the router to 3G only, although reading very low on speed tests, appears to at least be usable for streams.
Yes that's just one of the cell id based on your location. In my location I have noticed about 4. Try all the different ones you notice in your location. Except you are very far from an available cell tower, you should have one that will give you the speed you want consistently

for my location, these 3 perform better than b7
The problem with the band 7 is that it doesn't have good range, Higher frequency, shorter wavelength. Because of that it's not readily available. But if you can lock it and its available, you will have good speed. In my place the only time I don't have 50mbps speed is only when the band is not available. Being available doesn't mean the band isn't their, it just means the quality of the frequency reaching your location is too weak for it to be detected by your device or ODU.

Another way our network compliment for speed is through carrier aggregation. 7 might not be available, but 1, 3, 8 are present. So the 3 bands/frequencies present are aggregated together to give good speed.

In your own case band 7 isn't present, but others are so they are aggregated together to still give you good speed. I am only responding based on your network report screenshot

I think airtel just added band 1, 2100MHz
It's just an ok LTE band....not as strong or fast as their band 7. If you want the best speed lock band 7(2600MHz) or EARFCN 3256. It's a 20MHz bandwidth. The others are 10MHz bandwidth

You threw your daughter out at age 12 but systematically telling the whole World you are homeless and showing the whole World where you live. Shame!
You threw a child out to be molested but telling the Whole World that the girl is the one abandoning you. What a mother!

Thanks boss I've applied the ones i saw. I observed i can no longer see other PCI since i locked. Can i know how it can be reset back to normal. For some reason the PCI i locked doesn't get close to 40mbs.
That's the problem I have with the ZTE, if you are having 3CA before, then after locking you will see it reduce to 2 or even 1, so if you are unlucky to lock a strong data cell, you will have reduced network speed, but the ZLT still maintains the 3CA throughout most of the day. Go to developer setting under your router page, input your password and reset it.
Just look at the PCI in both pictures, the ZLT had 3 while the ZTE had 2. And it's usually like that for most part of the day

Bro please I'm using the ZTE G5F MF296A model and the ODU page 192.168.254.1 . Picture below is what I'm getting as PCI and it is only displayed on the 4G section as the 5G has no data. How do i test the cell locking script because during the day i usually have slow speeds especially weekend can't stream flawlessly but once is night speed gets back to normal.
Pick one of the PCI and it's corresponding frequency number, in your own case it can be 7, 3256. Then lock it using the 5gbenchmark cell locking script, then check the speed. Keep trying the different PCI/frequency numbers and whichever give you the best speed. Lock it and keep.
For the cell locking, read the previous 5 pages, you should find how to do it or check the guy page for video and website tutorials
Personally I prefer the ZLT because of its ease of LTE cell locking and it also has a better carrier aggregation

Please, can you give me more details on this? My ODU has stopped connecting after day 4, and for about two weeks now, it hasn’t connected at all. I’ve stopped calling customer care because no one seems able to fix the issue.

How does SIM swap work? I’m not even sure if mine is a physical SIM or an eSIM, but I believe it’s an eSIM.

Please, how do I go about it? Will I need to buy a new SIM card and ask them to transfer my eSIM number to it?
Is your ODU ZLT or ZTE? I did sim swap today........and it was effected within 30mins. Just tell them at Airtel shop that you want to do sim swap, they will need your sim number and NIN before it can be authorized

Oh okay, let me continue managing my e-sim for now because I don't think the old black zlt has a SIM slot.

Thank God I have never experienced any down time that lasted for more than 1hour since more than a month that I have been using it.

Most issue we are seeing was cause by some people that always want to create a problem when there is non. I see no reason changing any settings aside the WiFi password if your router is already working.

I always follow our tech slogan that say, if it is working, don't touch it 😂😂😂
It does, the sim is on the ODU, you will need screwdriver to access it

I wonder why Airtel will upgrade their ODU with the latest device then downgrade their IDU.
This is not making any sense. Has anyone tried using a wifi 6 IDU for the ZTE ODU?
Or can recommend a good IDU that is wifi 6 and compatible with the ZTE ODU.
The ZLT is equally good, I have done several speed test putting both ODU in the same place locking both on the same lte cell......and I have averagely have better upload and download speed on the ZLT, though the difference is little. I feel it's due to its IDU which can maximize the data power that's coming through better than the ZTE's IDU. If the ZTE has a better IDU ( wifi6), it might be incomparable.

The first is the ZLT speedtest
The second is ZTE speedtest.

When you did yours, did you utilize the cell mapper website in the video? Cos my own cell mapper is not showing any cell towers. I've been stuck there since.
I downloaded cell mapper but didn't use it.....go into the ZTE odu page, write out the list of PCI and EARFCN you can see, they might be more depending on your environment. Lock them one by one by inputting them into the cell locking script prompt, confirm and test the speed, whichever one gives you the best speed, lock it and that's it. I was getting ranging from 5mbps to 20mbps. Sinnce I lock a particular cell, i have been having consistently excellent internet speed with good ping

That's Lte band lock ....it doesn't have LTE cell lock. If you want lte cell lock which is far better, read my previous review and use the guy cell lock script, it works. Since have locked unto a particular Lte tower cell in my environment, I have been having full speed and the best data experience.

You can only use a system/laptop to write the cell lock script....click on his website, you will see the script there, then copy it. Open the ZTE page on a browser preferably chrome, press f12. Paste the script on the prompt, and it's easy to continue from there. Or better still search and watch his tutorial on his YouTube page

The Airtel ZTE ODU is zte mc7510, and this is the review. You can also use his script to lock cell on the ODU. It works 100%
. Since i have used his script to lock a particular lte cell on the ZTE, I have been having maximum speed through out the day. Try the different lte cells in your locality, the one that gives you maximum speed.Lock it. It will solve your Airtel speed issues.
The ZTE ODU looks and feel more premium than the ZLT, but the ZLT IDU is better than the ZTE IDU

But I still prefer the ZLT ODU because it's interface is easy to navigate and you can lock more than one lte cell, and I do averagely have better wifi reception.

In all, both are good and they will give you excellent speed if you can lock a good cell in your environment

I suppose the major problem of the ZTE will be the indoor unit whose specs I don't know. The zte odu, it is said, is a cat 7 device with AI capabilities (whatever that means).

Is the ZTE IDU not a Cat 6 device though?
I tried it, it didn't work. Concerning the zte IDU, I feel it's WiFi 5 since not much info as regards specs was provided

Please does it have to be a data/router sim or just any normal airtel sim?

My ODU router came with the ESIM and has never worked, Airtel keeps saying they are working to fix it but 7 days have been wasted on my subscription already.
Same happened at my end, mine took almost 2 weeks before it started working. I saw on the 10th days of calling and visiting their office, the number of lights on the odu has increased from 2 to 4 which means their is now data network on it, yet it still didn't work. Even from their end, they got no clue on why it's not working.
So I tinkered with it that night, went to the settings, under sim, changed inner(e) sim to external sim and it started working automatically. You might try that and see if it works
Already, have registered for the newer zte because I grew out of patience with it. They brought the white one yesterday and both are working. Have compared their performance. Now I have the older zlt which started working almost 2 weeks and the newer white zte

My interim observation: The older zlt has better IDU, i usually get better upload speeds compared to the newer one. and the range is better, covers every part of my flat. The newer one seems to get better latency for example in CODM, I was getting 32-47ms, while the zlt is a bit higher at 38-50ms. but in gameplay no noticable difference.
Also the zte speeds drop the moment I step outside my flat. Same doesn't happen with the zlt unless I move a considerable distance away. Maybe the WiFi 6 on it has anything to do with that.

In all, I will keep monitoring both performance to know which I will keep.
