ChiefkeefGB4: $9.6 Billion Judgment and New Discoveries
The Federal Government through EFCC just discovered P&ID do not have the profile: Operations, activities etc to secure the approved contract. Late President Yar’Adua couldn’t have signed the contract in 2010 because he left Nigeria in November 2009. Vice President Jonathan wasn’t acting president because of certain forces preventing that from happening, hence, he also couldn’t have signed or approved the contract. P&ID office address at No. 12 Vaal Street, Maitama, Abuja has no single trace of the company and currently being occupied by a law firm. Two Nigerians, Adamu Usman and Jadesola Awoyinfa, and three foreigners, Brenda Cahil; Michael Quinn and Neil Hitchcock are the directors of the company. P&ID directors suddenly pulled out of an agreed meeting with EFCC last week without a valid reason. Investors King Analysis of the Situation
P&ID couldn’t have secured the contract legally given the company’s profile and situation of things in Nigeria as at the time when President Yar’Adua was sick.
The Federal Government suddenly realised behind every approved contract in Nigeria there is money exchanging hands, especially when the company is largely unknown like P&ID.
In fact, this was obvious with the company’s failure to compel Nigeria to pay $6.6 billion initially awarded against the Federal Government in 2017.
Realising it doesn’t have the necessary tools to enforce the 2017 judgment, P&ID sold the idea to a hedge fund company, VR Capital Group.
VR Capital acquired a 25 percent stake in the company in March 2019 and immediately deploy all its legal resources to force Nigeria to the negotiating table.
The question is why fighting to get the Federal Government to the negotiating table when a legal court has awarded $9.6 billion and you’ve instructed your lawyers to start identifying Nigeria’s assets overseas?
The truth is the company and the VR Capital just want to exploit the poorly structured Nigerian system and cash out an ‘appropriate amount’ for their efforts.
It should be noted that hedge funds like Paulson & Co., Elliott Management, Pershing Square Capital Management and other asset management companies have taken stakes in embattled companies in the past and used their resources like VR Capital Group and P&ID are currently during to force the Nigerian government (their victims) to negotiate or risk an economic catastrophe.
However, the issue here is slightly different as the contract was likely secured through some illegal means given the aforementioned reasons and with the government now in the know, it is just a matter of time before the invited Nigerians on the board of the company start talking or abandon the case and disappear into thin air.
Following new EFCC discoveries, the Federal Government has now called off any negotiation with P&ID and will likely commence arrest of the people behind the contract this week. https://investorsking.com/9-6-billion-judgment-and-new-discoveries/ Why did Nigeria not go to court to present these facts? |

(Now that I presume you understand the basics, you will agree that when Aguiyi Ironsi became the head of state, his first duty will necessitate the trial of the coup plotters and serving justice for other regions who lost both political and Religious leadership (Northern region) that he never did.) Jpp. Gowon was in charge of investigation but only submitted his report on the eve of the coup. What do you make of that? |

grandstar: The article is too long
Anyway, it's obvious this government did try their best to negotiate and this is laudable.
The best route for now,may be to embarrass the company and Ireland by bringing attention to the world that the contract was fraudulent from the word go and the government won't pay the outrageous award.
This may compel the company to accept the much lower award.
It's tone the Presidency took the gloves. Where were all these facts during the court process? Is Thisday news paper the court? |

Politics › Re: Ayo Adebanjo: Ojukwu Betrayed Awolowo With The Civil War by PFRB: 11:35pm On Aug 29, 2019 |
Xisnin: Of course we know. Ojukwu agreed with Awolowo to pursue negotiation for federalism. But before Awo could reach his base, Ojukwu had declared war on Nigeria. Ojukwu's calculation is that the Nigerian government would assume that Awo was in on the deal and would concentrate the military on the west.
If Ojukwu's calculations were correct, the FG would have declared war on the west first on the wrong pretext that Awolowo's had declared war by aligning with Ojukwu. Thus, paving a smooth path for secession since the government would be too busy fighting in the west to even bother retaking the east.
Unfortunately for Ojukwu, his gambit failed and Gowon refused to declare war on the west even though most of his advisers pressured him to do so. This is where you have shown your ignorance. Ojukwu never declared war. |

Iblad0994: You gotta learn from history. The action of Nzeogwu led to the massacre of thousands of easterners in the core North. What did Ojukwu did? Call for Biafra war and multiple 3 million got massacred again.
What is the benefit of war? Who wins in a war? Kanu is doing more damage than benefit to the Biafran ideology, he is currently turning it to joke and the Igbo elders stood there without saying anything.
Instructing his subject to arrest a sitting president is a joke taken too far and one but wonder how sane minds kept praising his stupidity.
Junaid shouln't say something like this as a elder stateman, it's absurd. Is Nzeogu from the south east. Last time spent time here telling us how Ndokwa and his kins are not Igbo. |

KingsCity: Don't misunderstand me, I 'm not saying fraud is good but guys who can defraud people of over a billion Dollars have to be really smart!
I think the real problem is they are part of Nigeria's failed system. People believe it's better to cheat than to be honest. Parents would rather hire people to help their children cheat in JAMB than hire private teachers to help them study and pass honestly.
This failed system has given people a wrong mindset that it's better to cheat than to be honest. If anyone ever taught these guys that it's better to be honest that to cheat, me thinks these guys would still have turned out very successful with the kind of brilliance they obviously have got Many of us condemning them here are cheats as well. |
