There is nothing Jonathan could have done, he is yet to be given the 100% power he needed to carry out the job, yaradua is still alive and cos of that, he is limited, his appointment is still being challenged in the court of law, so what do you think he cld have done
Phemmmy i think he sure do have that 100% power despite the challenge at the court, he was able to redeploy andoakaa or is that not a proof that he has 100% power? .

It is easier for us all to point fingers, the man is just doing what almost anyone would have done.
You are right but we are only just asking that he show just some little balls and i sure do know his situation is very difficult. He could have at least not allowed two or three of the above situations come to pass so easily. Give your enemy a step and he will take 20 more steps.

What scenario?
The deployment of Nigerian soldiers to receive the president without his knowledge.
The hijacking of the FEC meeting while he should be the acting president with executive powers.
The landing of the presidential Jet without his express order.
Going to pay homage to turai later this evening for what reason?
Allowing segun adeniyi to receive instructions from a president not recognized right now by the constitution because he is the acting president.

Shebi U don read am,why not break em down and explain it to us in layman's term for us to understand the criteria.Need I remind U that any group can come up with claims of any favoured sch being the best.I dont give a damn who wins their hearts and polls to emerge best coz it beats my imagination that these so-called ranking(abi na rantings sef) will rank one sch the best only to come out next yr to pronounce another sch who hitherto where not even in the first three. And then the former best is no where close to the first three best, . . Geeez. . How dem dey do their own grading make we know, unless the likes of becomshit is on the panel doing sb's bidding, . Until then Unilorin to me is just another naija Universtity, too much hype no substance!!!
Trust me brother they are all just one page each and you will understand best if you read it yourself. cool No mind me na all these yeye ranking cause am na. When the teaching hospital of UI was first built in those days, it ranked number 5 in the whole world but where is it today as we speak? Make we stop all these past glory and local champion mentality. One day we will develop our own indigenous ranking system.

You guys can also check another criteria here http://www.universityrankings.ch/en/methodology/shanghai_jiao_tong

Here is the link also for the top 20 nigerian universities by NUC http://nm.onlinenigeria.com/templates/?a=870&z=12 in 2009.

luvola:
good talk frm ry . @ kaff - tel us wat is unique about unilorin
We can also infer and say what is unique about any Nigerian university. I really want to know what the problem you guys have with UNILORIN? This was the first time they came tops and everyone is on them but no one was on those other universities all these years when they were topping the rankings.

rhymz:
Well, it appears U ve got the answers,at least U sound reasonable unlike becomshit. So pls,I would like U to explain to us in clear english the criteria that were used to come to the conclusion that Unilorin is the best Sch in Nigeriia. And pls don't sell that crap about them having very few 1st class grads that's so lame or the size of the Sch coz that's a dumb arguement as well. Just let us know what it is Unilorin has been doing right that other schools are getting wrong.Pls enlighten us,may be we are ignorant of some facts.Until then,Unilorin is a paper tiger to me!!
Brother in such rankings we cannot say unilorin is doing anything right which the other universities are not doing which also applies when comparing Harvard and Princeton. It all boils down to the volume or difference in gap between those universities taking into account the criteria they are using for such rankings. The foundation of all these ranking has noting to do with africans initially at the formative stages. It was only meant to serve the Asian and american universities (not even europe), you can check that up on the internet.

You cannot easily find the data's of the two most prestigious university ranking about african schools unlike these other ones. The criteria also is more complicated than the ones used by other ranking sites. Now for the ranking that said unilorin was first please check up the criteria here http://www.webometrics.info/about_rank.html and compare it to the other two prestigious rankings below.

http://www.arwu.org/ARWUMethodology2009.jsp

http://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/methodology/simple-overview

You can also check the criteria of another ranking site like the one used to judge unilorin as first here http://www.4icu.org/menu/about.htm as they are almost the same but the positions are different judging from the list here http://www.4icu.org/topAfrica/.

Now in my opinion i think it will be best for us to develop our own indigenous criteria for ranking our universities instead of the above criteria and until then please lets forget this my university is the best kind of argument.

I am suprised people will come and rant about best university on the web.
The most important thing is what you contribute to the society after graduating.

Your grade or school amount to nothing if you can not contibute positive to the society. Nobody goes to school or get a grade for braging sake.

Look closely around you and you will find a lot of people have made the best out of the so called poor schools and some haven't made themselves anything by attending the so called great schools.

What are you contributing right now?
Thanks for this post.
Politics › Former Efcc Investigator, Danjuma Mohammed, Assassinated (today) by Pharoh(op): 10:19pm On Feb 21, 2010
http://www.saharareporters.com/real-news/sr-headlines/5238-former-efcc-investigator-danjuma-mohammed-assassinated.html

A former top investigator with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Danjuma Mohammed, was shot dead today in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja by assassins who invaded his home. Mohammed, a Deputy Superintendent of Police who worked as an investigator with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), was a close associate of the exiled former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu.

He was also one of the first casualties of the power play in the EFCC when Mrs. Farida Waziri took over the reigns of the commission three years ago. Along with Ibrahim Magu and several other experienced investigators at the EFCC, Mohammed was sent back to the police by Mrs. Waziri.

But Saharareporters sources said the FIRS found Mohammed to be a valuable tool and had recruited him to engage in investigating and prosecuting tax defaulters. He reportedly met stiff resistance in the department handling the job in the FIRS before he undertook its reorganization.

Mohammed's assassination would be the second against financial crimes investigators. In November 2009, Abubakar Umar, a lawyer and special assistant to Ahmeed Al Mustapha, registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), was found brutally assassinated and burned in his car in Abuja. Abubakar had been trailed by unknown assailants after he left work. He was abducted, shot to death, and set ablaze. His badly burnt body was found near Utako Market in the opposite direction of his residence in Maitama. Before he was killed, Abuabakar had had some disagreements with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Usman Bayero Nafada, over land ownership.

Police claim they are looking into this case, but such proclamations in past assassinations have amounted to nothing.

The family of late Abuabakar Abba Umar is offering N10m to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of his killers. Abuabakar Abba Umar until his death was an Assistant Director and the Special Assistant to the registrar general at the Corporate Affairs Commission Abuja. Mr Umar was also a board member of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
He was trailed by trailed by his assailants on 11th November 2009 who shot him and burnt him in his Toyota Camry car. An autopsy carried out at the National Hospital Abuja revealed a bullet wound in his skull. Initially, the police believed that it was accident. However, after the autopsy report was released, some suspects were arrested but no breakthrough was made in finding his killers.

The family of the later Umar is offering the N10m in an effort to assist the law enforcement agencies in apprehending his killers. Anyone with useful information should contact the

But i feel without even a Sim registration the mobile operators could still dig something out if requested by the president. Lets even do it the traditional way judging by the facts given to us. This message got into her phone immediately she left the FEC meeting so i believe the message was from one of the members present in that meeting. All she need to do is to get that number and request for it to be cross checked with that of the FEC members secretly hoping they will be dumb to use their personal numbers. They could also go back and check the camera log for that day as well or is the police facing a dead end in this scenario?

We do really need a proper form of identification in that country.
Politics › Re: Voice Voting In The House by Pharoh: 8:18am On Feb 21, 2010
After almost 11 years of civilian rule, they still cannot do a simple voting process right? Don't we have indigenous engineers that can carry out this project for them. Like making a simple yes or no push button attached to the sits in the chambers. I also heard they sign with pen and paper to mark their attendance when a simple investment in smart ID cards, finger print recognition or face detection will do the trick.

Are these legislators progressive or even conversant with modern modes of operation?
