TravelRe: I Need Help With Information About Moving To GHANA by phibetakappa: 3:45pm On Jun 11, 2016
DaVinciii has given you a well presented information about GH. The power situation is very stable now. Ghanaians are friendly as long as you engage in a legitimate business. The moment they hear you're a Nigerian, they begin to pay attention when dealing with you.

Boeing777pilot:
1. Some smaller maller planes like those for training have, bigger ones don't.

2. Slowing a plane in mid air so the wings stop flying because there's not enough on the wings to produce lift. It's usually for experienced test pilots but all commercial pilots are trained on how handle stalls.
Thank You
TravelRe: Ask A Pilot... by phibetakappa: 8:01pm On May 29, 2016
1.Do aeroplanes have ignition keys like cars?
2. What does it mean when a pilot says he's performing a stall test?

I see exhaust pipe at the tail end of some planes, mostly bigger plane. Do these planes have engines at their tail end?
Thanks for this thread.

This tread helps a lot. Please how much will 2 Bedroom flat cost in a month in Accra?
It largely depends on the area. However, a 2 bedroom flat in Accra will not cost less than GH300 cedis a month. A visit Tonaton.com will give you a fair idea about rent charges in Accra.

Nigerian, 27, stabbed to death over stolen tooth brush
Posted May 04, 2016 at 4:10pm
A brawl between two Nigerians living at the Beach Drive Road at Nungua in Accra over a stolen tooth brush has led to the death of one.
Marvelous Okere, 26, and a trader living together in the same room with other occupants “engaged the deceased” – Sunday Orga – in an open fight over his stolen tooth brush on Saturday.
Speaking to Starr News, the Greater Accra Regional Police spokesperson Afia Tenge, said in the “course of the confrontation” Okere took a bottle, broke it and “stabbed the left rib of the deceased.”
“He bled profusely and when he was rushed to the LEKMA Hospital he passed on,” Tenge stated.
Upon interrogation, the suspect said he stabbed his colleague because he “slapped” him.
Okere is currently in police custody “for investigations to also continue.”
The remains of Orga, 27, has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue “awaiting autopsy.”

Car TalkRe: Brake Pads And Brake Lining Which Is More Effective? by phibetakappa: 10:42am On Apr 13, 2016
Siena:
In terms of stopping power, pads are more effective than drums, when comparing discs and drums with similar friction surface areas (size).

The enemy of braking is heat. Which is why brakes may be more effective the first few times they are used. Several braking sessions later (from moderate to high speeds) and the stopping distances will be longer. This is caused by "brake fade", as a result of friction heat.

Discs and pads are better at dissipating heat, due to the open design. Drums and shoes are enclosed, meaning heat can not be dissipated as efficiently as in a disc set-up. Pads are clamped against the discs by calipers, meaning the piston/s and cylinder bore/s are larger, compared to the smaller pistons and bores on the wheel cylinders that force shoes against drums.

Drum brakes are also more prone to internal corrosion, the pivot points and adjusting mechanisms seize up.
That's the more reason why the disc brake is used at the front when the manufacturer uses the disc and drum combination.

Then what you need to do is :
1. purchase a passport form from any bank across Ghana(There are two types: normal-which cost GHS 50, and the express type-which cost GHS100.)
2. Fill it and submit at any immigration office across the country.
3. Follow up on the date of collection given to you. (Express takes about 2 weeks, whiles the normal one takes about a month)
She has to attach her birth certificate, if you don't have it, do it before you submit the passport form.

In the time being, if you don't want Ghana thrown into domso again show some respect and clear all outstanding debts.
Ghana will still need NGAS for the time being,no doubt.

Well Ghana is constructing gas plants so Ghana will not be relying solely on NGAS for its gas supply.
TravelRe: Ghana’s New Visa Policy: Why I Think Nigeria Should Do Same by phibetakappa: 7:46am On Apr 02, 2016
This story has been twisted. This visa on arrival policy does not apply to ECOWAS member states, it's for other AU member states.

So what about all the talk of borderless and unified ecowas? A Ghana which we supplied electricity and gas to and yet they weren't paying as at when due? Ghanahuh? So we need visa to go to Ghana. We better wake up in Nigeria. We've slept for too long.
My brother try to read a news item in detail before you pass comments, don't follow sensational headlines. FYI, Nigeria is not part of that arrangement.

You call Ghana a rubbish country? Hahaha, a country where your people attend their universities and are rushing to get their passport. How many Ghanaians attend Nigerian universities.
