These are the requirements you need to enjoying free to air satellite:
1. A universal satellite decoder e.g strong decoder
2. A dish
3A disecq switch (optional)
4. Antenna cable

You are right. They are still doing test transmission in nigcomsat direction. We will still be experiencing on and off cos they are still test running their transmitter there. They came back early hour of last Sunday

@ holyaustin, its very difficult and I don't think anyone has done that on a 90cm dish,I stand to be corrected though.

If you are in northern part of the country or region towards north, it is visible but in Lagos, you will need at least 1m dish to get almost all the tps on 16e using 42e as primary on 1m but with 90cm, you will just get one or two tps.

Don't be so sure boy. You can track with that decoder even without tv.

My lovely aburo, you will be wasting your time using srt 4955b to track 9e and other satellites that doesn't have strong signal in Nigeria. You may be lucky with DStv, joy or eutelsat 16 without using tv along with your decoder but not with 9e. Besides you may roast yourself in the sun trying to pick signal with SRT 4955b fixing your eyes on the front panel until it displays green indicating it has got the signal. in addition to this, you will need to be adjusting your dish every time until you got good signal on the tv screen after using the decoder alone to track satellite. You can try 9e with ordinary SRT 4955b with or without tv and come around to come and share your testimony my little boy

strong decoder model number 4955b. It is a good strong decoder but you can't use it to track satellite easily. That is the only constraint

The fact is what I am telling you. 5e and 7e can be tracked using one single lnb on a 1m dish. There is nothing almost impossible as he said. The bigger your dish, the better the reception in time. Moreover, it is even impossible to track 5e and 7e using a single lnb if you are in Lagos Nigeria on a 60 cm dish in many places. You will need at least 90cm for you to get it done. But for our people in northern Nigeria, it is visible with 60cm dish as well as some areas closed to northern Nigeria. In some countries like Mali, 60 cm will do the wonder

For now you can use it but once operation commences fully, a software will be sent via the dish to turn it to a customized decoder like other decoders like starsat and dstv decoders
