Everyone found of corruption should be made to return the loot and face the penalty. That is my position and the people involved doesn't count neither their party. Its about equity, justice and fairness. I am a minority and I have never subscribed to tribal sentiments because I have deep connections with all major tribes in Nigeria. We all look forward to a better Nigeria for Nigerians and our visitors.
This is my position day and night in my sleep and while awake.

otunsman:
The northern president see dasuki as a threat to his govt because of 1983 coup that led to his arrest and detention by the rtd colonel, hence,he wanted him behind bar.
It has been revealed Dasuki wasn't the one who arrested Buhari so all those media stories should be discountenanced.

PDP criminal governors and looters like Gbenga Daniel, Alao Akala, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Bukola Saraki, should also be brought to book.

Awon ajibole, gbewiri, alo ki olohun kigbe, igara Olosa. angry
Every past or present leader should open his or her books for scrutiny.
That last line sounds like incantations from some alagba in bar beach.

You sound unusually reasonable @bolded.

If it was a PDP supporter that supported this impunity, you would have attacked him/her with insult, but now its your party supporter and you suddenly turned to advocate... lol
I have always been reasonable on this site since 2009. It's only those who do not know the effect of unchecked corruption to a country that panders to ethnic, religious and party affiliations in such matters.
I do not care who goes to jail as long as Nigeria is rid of this monster.

Meanwhile some of you should stop supporting corrupt individuals only because they are from your regions or religion. They don't care about you!

Painful and pathetic. angry

APC has made us to forget to demand accountability from our LG chairmen, house of assembly men, House of reps members, Senators and even our governors as if they don't exist, shifting all attentions to the FG.

We are now in the era of CHANGE!

Hope they will give the REAL CHANGE chance?
On the contrary you should be grateful to them for screaming corruption even if you only hear it on the FG level. PDP made us believe it is trivial issue been overblown out of proportion. Left alone to the PDP we should just carry on as if nothing is wrong with the system when in the real sense the rot is more than what is even being bandied.

Was it the national judicial council that came out to say this judges lack integrity? I wonder if you people even make use of your common sense. Who even gave sagay the audacity to be making such proclamations!! That man is a very big disgrace to the legal profession
Was it Sagay that said that either? Have you received or seen a statement other than newspaper reports and screaming headlines about corrupt judges? Which of your senses have you been using to draw these deductions?

How odd is it that recovered looted funds will be in the custody of the EFCC. How can this just be possible for God's sake? Why will the EFCC be the receiving agency of such funds and if that was the case how on earth will such funds remain with them for more than 72hrs to the extent of being reported missing?
What has the FG through the ministry of finance been doing about this all this while?
Which kind country be this?

A special courts devoid of executive control is no problem. Where the problem would arise would be the executive trying to influence such courts. The president would not have the powers to screen or select judges for such courts
There you go..The selection of judges according to the is being handled by the NJC. They it was that sent the names to security and anti corruption agencies for screening.
Is that not transparent enough? I advise you sometimes remove that hatred in your mind for him in looking critically at issues that will favor both you and everyone.
For me, this man means business. Am just watching how far he will be allowed to go by the many undulating factors surrounding him.

EddyNumerouno:
Maybe if my salary is N50,000 and my allowances and back door runs earns me a net pay of N450,000 per month, i'll reduce my 'salary' to earn some public favour. Its a win win.

The best jokes in Nigeria are;
1. Police is your friend
2. Sitting allowance.
Did you read the entire thing at all?

This review will also result in right sizing the funding of the various aspects of our activities. We have already put a mechanism in motion to achieve that. It may also result in the drastic cut of our finances be they salaries, allowances and running cost. We are conscious of our integrity; we will lead by example.
“What I can assure you is that we are submitting to the will of the people as a responsive and responsible legislative institution. We can no longer ignore the popular wishes of the Nigerian people who elected us in the first place.

They can not accuse him of anything because they know he did not steal anything or did anything wrong, this is cowardly and smear tactics just to rubbish his image.

All they can do is and have been doing is Fashola spent this, Fashola spent that, but when are they going to get to Fashola stole this and that.?

These are cowards and scumbags especially the new Orobo governor and errand boy...

These are cowards and scum bag.
Aresa, you won't be bothered if a contract that should cost N10M is awarded and executed at N100M? For me, all what is happening now is good for our country. These leaders took the people for granted for too long. Right now a $b sounds like small money here while it remain a huge amount of money in Europe that is more developed than our country. The rot was mutual to both parties but my main problem with the PDP and the last government is they seemed to be very comfortable with it and promoted it to high heavens.
This is why am calling on ordinary Nigerians irrespective of party and ethnical Affiliations to support the current war against corruption and watch how the system gets sanitized gradually before our very eyes.

I am afraid the law would never pass!!! It is not just about Buhari or APC but rather about allocating too much powers on one person or office. The principle of democracy or seperation of powers of the executive,Legislature and judiciary is all about check and balances and prevent abuse of power. No law seeking to allot judicial powers to the executive would be allowed to pass at parliament.
Special courts is not an executive function. It is still a judiciary function only restricted to corruption cases. It will interest you to know it was one of the recommendations of the conference. All well meaning Nigerians should support it. I am telling you Nigerian corrupt political elite do not need soft measures to curb their excesses. Am expecting this method will come down hard on them whether in ruling or opposition parties including the civil service.

Yet you said, " virtually everybody is involved. "

But if gej's method was successful we won't be here in the first place

Because all these corrupt case is mostly about the last PDP government
These are people who will never applaud the man even if his wife is the first to be jailed.
Their mind is made up and their hands have been tied by ethnic and religious sentiments.

Exercise in futility, Buhari lacks the power to set up any special courts. The constitution would first have to be amended to accommodate that.

It would require 2/3 of both arms of the NASS which we know is impossible
In case you don't know, not every PDP people in that house and senate are against the war on corruption. In fact as it is very few of them wants to be caught openly as one who is against the war.
The bill will soon be sent and it will like likely get 95% affirmative action. If you think people are not fed up with what's happening in this country think again. Even many morally bankrupt people are fed up except you.
One thing I want to assure you is when it starts there will be no APC or PDP. Many of you will feed on your words and know how well Buhari means business.

Most FP posters did not actually the read the post. They saw the headline and rushed to comment.

The Returning Officer is a brave man and also man of honour, the kind this country needs. As he rightly said,if he actually needed money he could have bowed to the demands of PDP.
There's serious moral decadence in this country to a scary level. Sometimes you wonder where are the youths the elders will handover the affairs of this country to. I will tell you only 5% of people commenting read the OP but only went ahead to comment based on their mindset.

I sure do for the unprovoked insults. There are some retaliatory insults that you just let them go. I have reprimanded demdem some time ago when he came down hard on GEJ. The man doesn't deserve any respect whatsoever, He's a chatty and bitter old man. Always heating up the polity.

It's as if your lips are stuttering trying to comprehend and find an explanation for the whole thing. You know what going through intermediaries mean, don't you? It means paying consultation fees on deals you could do directly. I'm not finding her guilty on this one though, I'd like to see her own explanation... Though we both know I don't think she's innocent.
I have continued to ask the veracity of the so called signature bonus and what the beneficiary does to get such huge amounts no one has been able to afford a good explanation. What exactly are the roles of oil blocks owners that NNPC cannot perform? What kind of a country is this for Christ sake? How can a few privileged ones be enjoying without lifting a finger while the majority who toil day and night continue to wallop in abject poverty? Jonathan, a man from the Niger Delta who's supposed to correct this anomaly spent 5yrs enriching the same crooks and befriending all looters to the detriment of the ordinary masses of the region that bears the brunt.
How and why the many people who still support him do that still baffles me. Left alone to me Jonathan should be tied to a stake and flogged daily in the Niger Delta.
