Its about equity, justice and fairness. I am a minority and I have never subscribed to tribal sentiments because I have deep connections with all major tribes in Nigeria. How odd is it that recovered looted funds will be in the custody of the EFCC. How can this just be possible for God's sake? Why will the EFCC be the receiving agency of such funds and if that was the case how on earth will such funds remain with them for more than 72hrs to the extent of being reported missing?
What has the FG through the ministry of finance been doing about this all this while?

A special courts devoid of executive control is no problem. Where the problem would arise would be the executive trying to influence such courts. The president would not have the powers to screen or select judges for such courts

There you go..The selection of judges according to the is being handled by the NJC. They it was that sent the names to security and anti corruption agencies for screening.

Aresa, you won't be bothered if a contract that should cost N10M is awarded and executed at N100M? For me, all what is happening now is good for our country. These leaders took the people for granted for too long. Right now a $b sounds like small money here while it remain a huge amount of money in Europe that is more developed than our country. The rot was mutual to both parties but my main problem with the PDP and the last government is they seemed to be very comfortable with it and promoted it to high heavens.
This is why am calling on ordinary Nigerians irrespective of party and ethnical Affiliations to support the current war against corruption and watch how the system gets sanitized gradually before our very eyes.

I am afraid the law would never pass!!! It is not just about Buhari or APC but rather about allocating too much powers on one person or office.The principle of democracy or seperation of powers of the executive,Legislature and judiciary is all about check and balances and prevent abuse of power.No law seeking to allot judicial powers to the executive would be allowed to pass at parliament.

Special courts is not an executive function. It is still a judiciary function only restricted to corruption cases. It will interest you to know it was one of the recommendations of the conference. All well meaning Nigerians should support it. I am telling you Nigerian corrupt political elite do not need soft measures to curb their excesses. Am expecting this method will come down hard on them whether in ruling or opposition parties including the civil service.

In case you don't know, not every PDP people in that house and senate are against the war on corruption. In fact as it is very few of them wants to be caught openly as one who is against the war.
