Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has dismissed the possibility of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, winning the 2023 presidential election.




He opined that most of the campaigns done by the Labour Party is on social media and according to him, 90% of people in the North are not on social media and so will not be voting based on any influence from social media.




Atiku made this known during an interview with Arise TV this morning, July 22.




The PDP presidential candidate stated that the LP will not divide the votes meant for the PDP as suggested in some quarters. He questioned the performance of the LP in the just concluded governorship election in Osun, saying the party does not have governors, members of the national assembly and state assemblies.




“I really don’t expect the Labour Party to take as many votes from the PDP as people are suggesting. We could have seen it in the last election in Osun state. What is the performance of the Labour Party?

This is a party that doesn’t have a governor, doesn’t have members of the national assembly, doesn’t have state assembly members, and politics in this country depends on the structures you have at the various levels — at the local government level, at the state level, and at the national level.”he said




Speaking further, the former Vice-President said 90 per cent of people in the north are not on social media, insinuating that it will limit the chances of the LP winning the 2023 presidential election.




“So, it is very difficult to expect a miracle to happen, simply because Peter Obi is in the Labour Party. After all, they were saying through social media, they had more than one million votes in Osun state.

But how many votes turned for the Labour Party? And then again, mark you, you’re talking about social media. In the north, 90 percent of our people are not tuned to social media.”he said

Portable has visited the chairman of the Lagos State Park and Garages Management, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo.




The visit came amid a probe by police after he claimed that he founded crime gangs in Lagos. Portable has since recanted.





Portable was seen in the video shared online hailing the former transport union boss, as the latter boasted about his influence in different areas of the state.

A Nigerian lady has shared a video of herself weeping as she accused the Vice Chairman of Uruan local government area in Akwa Ibom state of owing her sister money
 

In the viral video, the lady said her sister suffers kidney problem and that the family is in dire need of money to treat her. She said efforts to reach the politician so they can get the money she allegedly owes her sister has proved abortive.

She said she needs the money to offset the bills for her sister's treatment.

She is calling on the public to help prevail on the politician to pay the debt so she can get her sister get  the required medical attention.

The video captured the moment the lover boy took his girlfriend to the spot where the automobile was parked while covering her eyes with his hands.

However, instead of being overjoyed to see the whip as one might have anticipated, the woman reacted angrily and questioned the man’s decision to surprise her with that brand of vehicle.

A video of a Christian brother proposing to his girlfriend during church service has been shared online.




In the video, the man went on his knees while his girlfriend who is a member of the choir was leading the church in a worship session. The young lady had her eyes closed as she sang and did not notice when he went on his knees.

May Yul-Edochie, the first wife of Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has opened up about her battle with depression after he took actress Judy Moghalu, as his second wife.




In April this year, Yul shocked many Nigerians when he announced on social media that he had picked Judy as a second wife and that they have even welcomed a son together. This came as a surprise to many Nigerians who saw his marriage to May as one that embodies a Monogamous union. 




In a live session she had on her Facebook page, May stated that it hasn't been easy since her husband took the decision to venture into polygamy. She also responded to people who say she is cashing out via the crisis in her marriage.




''I  saw a few comments of some people saying  'May is using this to cash out'' and I am like okay...It's fine. I don't wish this upon my enemy if at all I have any. I don't think I have enemies but if at all I have any, I don't wish this upon them. 

Depression is real and there are different stages of depression. For me, rather than dwell in depression. I decided to pick up the pieces of a beautiful world that I had. A very beautiful world. An amazing world that suddenly shattered, that suddenly crashed. I decided to pick up the pieces and try to move on, rather than dwell in depression. It's not been easy.''




The mum of four said she is happy that she looks strong and happy but that it is the love and support from people that have kept her going.




May added that she had to put herself together because of her kids s she needs to be there for them. She asked her followers to keep praying as there is nothing God cannot do.

APC Vice Presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, has replied Nigerians who say the party's Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, is out to Islamize Nigeria.




On July 10, Tinubu, a Muslim, announced he had picked the former Borno state governor who is also a Muslim as his running mate. His announcement was greeted with mixed reactions. While some applauded him, others, most especially Christians in the country frowned at his selection of a running mate. They wondered why he didn't pick a Christian since he is a Muslim. Some party members have even dumped the party because of his selection of a Muslim as a running mate.They argue that a Muslim-Muslim ticket in a religious country like Nigeria is unacceptable.




While receiving some party members on Friday, July 15, Shettima dismissed claims that Tinubu is out to Islamize Nigeria. He averred that Tinubu's wife who he has been married to for over 40 years is a Christian and a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God.




''They are accusing him of an attempt of Islamizing Nigeria. Has he started with Islamizing his own family? Tinubu's running mate might be a Muslim but his life mate of over 40 years is not only a Christian but a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He did not impose his Islamic faith on his own Children. He was the first governor to hand mission schools back to their owners.''he said

A man who was caught allegedly engaging in vote-buying in ongoing Osun governorship election, has been spotted in a video explaining why he gave money to a voter.




The suspect who was arrested by officials of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said he gave out N10,000 to a voter who was thirsty to buy bottle water.

Kemi Badenoch, a Nigeria-born UK parliamentarian who is campaigning to become the Prime Minister of the European country, has taken shots at Nigerian politicians. 




The 42-year-old who partially schooled in Nigeria, said she chose to identify with the UK because she can really be free in the country unlike in Nigeria.




Badenoch described Nigerian politicians as "looters and dream killers". She said;

I saw what socialism means for millions: poverty and broken dreams.

Lagos-based preacher, Pastor Abraham Sam Aiyedogbon has threatened that Christians will be mobilized to teach the ruling All Progressives Congress and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu a lesson for flying a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential election.




Speaking in an interview on Arise TV, Aiyedogbon accused the APC and its candidate of excluding Northern Christians even though there are many of them in the region.




He also claimed that Tinubu never consulted with any Christian leader or bodies before going ahead with his Muslim-Muslim plan.




Asides accusing Tinubu and the APC of gaslighting Christians, the preacher also stated that they don't care if they die in the process.




He also said they will do everything within their power to stop rigging in the 2023 general election.

Deputy Governorship: I Have Never Failed With Leadership – Tonto Dikeh

Actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh says she has never failed with leadership and therefore, believes she is capable of succeeding as Deputy Governor of Rivers State.

Dikeh made the comments on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics while speaking of her candidacy under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to her, contrary to speculations and despite her being a subject of controversy, the decision to join politics was well thought out and is one she has worked towards for at least three years.

“I am prepared for anything, truthfully. I have had three years to work on this, its not something that I just came out or emerged with. We’ve had a lot of time to work on this and for this. Criticism, I am ready, non-criticism I am ready. So, it doesn’t matter where the questions are coming from.

“I have failed in my life and I’m not denying that. Everyone has seen that.

“But am I going to fail with leadership. Have I failed in leadership? Start from motherhood, have I ever failed in motherhood, talk about my foundation. I think it was one of the foundations that stood up for this country, in the time of the pandemic, with no assistance whatsoever. I did even more than the government,” she said.

The ADC governorship candidate in Rivers state, Tonte Ibraye, had presented Dikeh as his running mate on Friday ahead of the 2023 elections.

Later the same day, the actress confirmed the nomination via her social media handles, where she shared what they hope to achieve if elected into office during next year’s election.

“I thank Mr Tonte Ibraye (@TonteIbraye), the Governorship candidate for ADC, Rivers State for nominating me as his running mate,” Dikeh tweeted.

“We are looking at investing in social protection, creating social value system & increased women’s inclusion in governance.”

Tonte Ibraye and Tonto Dikeh were later on Friday presented their Certificates of Return by the ADC party chairman, Ralph Okey Nwosu in Abuja.

The funeral of gospel artiste, Late Osinachi Nwachukwu, is currently taking place in Isochi Umunnechi, her paternal hometown in Abia state.




The singer died in April. There have been allegations that she suffered domestic violence from her husband, Peter Nwachukwu, during her marriage. Her family members accused the late singer’s husband of domestic violence, leading to her death. Nwachukwu is facing trial over the charges.
