The teenage nanny accused of killing the 6-month-old baby in her care has revealed her motive for the killing.




Chiamaka Odo said she lived in Anambra state before she was brought to Lagos by her uncle, who then found a job for her as a nanny, where she was to be paid N15K per month.





She told journalists that she was initiated into the Ugoloma cult group in Agulu, Anambra state when she was in primary school.




She said a classmate gave her biscuits and sweet during break and that night, she found herself attending their meeting and they welcomed her.




She said that when it was decided that she would come to Lagos, the cult group told her that they would require blood from her but she refused to shed blood.





She began working as a nanny on January 7 in a home in Lagos and she said her cult members began appearing to her again.




She said they come to her in a dream and give orders.




Narrating how the baby died, she said they came to her in her dream as usual and they gave her a bowl and told her to call the baby's name - Obiora Oso Okolo - four times. When she did, blood appeared in the bowl.




She claims the baby died after that.




She told newsmen that she has been wanting to leave the cult group but can't. If she tries to go to church, she becomes unable to walk and only gets better when church is over, she said.

The Lagos State Police Command has corroborated the statement made by a mother that her child found with a dispatch rider was not stolen.




Recall that a dispatch rider seen with a baby had been accused of abducting the child and putting in his courier box.





The mother of the child later released a video, saying the dispatch rider is her child's uncle and he didn't kidnap the child.




The Lagos State Police Commans PRO, CSP Asekunle Ajisebutu, has now released a statement about the incident.




The statement reads: "On 11th March, 2022, a video of a dispatch rider accused of concealing a suspected stolen child in a courier box went viral on the social media, causing apprehension.





"Although the incident was not reported at any police station, however, the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, fdc, mnim, psc, directed that the incident should be investigated immediately.




"In compliance with the directive, investigation was initiated which led to the discovery of the scene. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the child was not stolen afterall and that he was not kept in the courier box as alleged by the mob.




"The child's mother, Lovina Biturs, was contacted. It was then revealed that the child was actually taken away and put on the dispatch motorbike by the rider with the consent of his mother.




"According to the mother, the 10-month-old baby is fond of the rider who is a relative, a neighbour and was crying uncontrollably when he (rider) wanted to go pick up something in the neighbourhood. To pacify the baby, his mother allowed him go with the rider.





"Passersby who saw the child with the rider along Sangotedo area, Ajah on the said day, became suspicious and concluded that the child might have been stolen, raised the alarm which attracted a mob. The mob subsequently pounced on the rider, beating him without finding out the truth.




"The dispatch rider later identified as Williams Tadule, was said to have been rescued by the Chairman of the Sunview Estate, Sangotedo.




"The Commissioner of Police, therefore warns members of the public against any form of jungle justice as such uncivilized action has grave consequences."

Suspended police officer, Abba Kyari’s wife slumped at the federal high court in Abuja today March 14, 2022.




It was gathered that she slumped and fell on the floor while her husband and other defendants were being led out from the court premises by operatives of the National Drug Law and Enforcement Ageny (NDLEA).





This occurred shortly after the trial judge, Emeka Nwite deferred on ruling on the bail application filed by the embattled police officer and other defendants.




The judge deferred ruling on applications filed by Kyari, alongside six other persons facing drug trafficking charges, that they be released on bail pending the determination of the case against them.




Recall that Kyari was arraigned on eight counts bordering on conspiracy, obstruction, and dealing in cocaine, and other related offences.

The dispatch rider who was publicly humiliated and accused of kidnapping and hiding a baby in his courier box is innocent, the child's mother has said.




In a video recorded by the owner of the logistics business to clear her company's name, the child's mother spoke up revealing no one stole her child.





The mother insisted the dispatch rider seen with her child is her child's uncle and she was the one who gave him the child.




She said he is not a kidnapper as was claimed in a video shared by locals who saw him with the child and assumed the worst.




"I'm the one that gave him the baby by myself because I trust him. He is the baby's uncle," the child's mother said.

Actress Kemi Afolabi said doctors gave her about 5 years to live and she has lived one year out of that already.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. It has no cure but can only be managed.

A Lagos-Ibadan train ran out of diesel mid-journey, leaving passengers stranded.




A video shared online shows some passengers standing on the train tracks while others remained in the train, waiting for a solution.





According to the passengers, an announcement was made, informing them that the train had run out of diesel.

The sister of the 22-year-old lady, Oluwabamise Toyosi Ayanwole who boarded a BRT and couldn’t live to tell the full story has narrated the deceased gruesome experience in the hands of her killers.

In an interview, the lady who spoke amid tears and wails accused the Nigerian government of killing her sister. She further revealed that her sister saw hell on earth before she finally died.

She added that her private organs were removed while she was still alive. According to her, Bamise was a jovial individual who put smiles on the faces of people around her.

A lady identified as Eunice Ugonwa has taken to her Facebook page to allege that a river which had mysteriously disappeared 300 years ago, resurfaced.

According to the lady, the incident remained something of a mystery to the residents of the community in Imo state.

She stated that the story of the mystery had been passed down from generation to generation through word of mouth; her husband had heard it from his grand father, who also heard it from his grandfather.

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state has said that he pays poor mothers N5,000 per girl child they send to school.




Tambuwal who admitted in the interview on TVC that Sokoto state is one of the states that is backward in Western education, said he made a law, making it compulsory for every child to be educated.

On Friday, February 25, Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Federal High Court in Lagos state sentenced kidnapper Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, and two others, Uchenna Amadi and Okuchuwkwu Nwachukwu, to life imprisonment. 


Evans alongside his accomplices got the sentence after they were found guilty of two counts of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping.

A 13-year-old boy raped by 43-year-old Ovie Oktogbo, pictured left, has died.




On Wednesday February 23, Nigeriana shared the story of how Ovie was arrested for sexually assaulting 9 boys in the Ugbowo area of the state. Ovie who hails from Delta state but resides in Edo state, is a security guard who specialized in using N100 to N200 to lure his unsuspecting victims who are children and teenagers between the ages of 10 to 15years and then have anal sex with them after applying a bleaching cream on both his manhood and the victim's anus as the case may be, for easy penetration.





Luck ran out on him as one of his victim, 13-year-old Jeffery fell ill with swollen feet, face, and pus all over his body. Medical examination revealed that his liver and kidney were damaged as a result of a certain chemical contained in bleaching creams. Upon further inquiry by the victim's parents, he confessed that a certain man in the area forced his way and forcibly had carnal knowledge of him. He said it was in that process that he applied the cream in his anus, hence the report to the police.





On receipt of the information the operatives of the command immediately swung into action arrested Ovie Oktogbo ‘M’ who is cooperating with investigation. He confessed to have defiled nine (9) boys in the area. Six (6) have already been identified and their parents also made a formal complaint to the commissioner of police to that effect while three (3) out of the nine (9) children are yet to be identified.




In an update, it was revealed that sadly, Jeffery has died. His parents are demanding that the suspect be sentenced to death. They are also calling for financial help, stating that they borrowed money to foot the medical bill to save their son who they sadly lost.

Hilary is said to have gone mentally unstable on the eve of his Master’s degree defense.




His former classmates left their homes in Abuja and traveled to Rivers state where they found him in Bakana. The coursemates couldn't hide their joy as they hugged him and exchanged banters with him. Thereafter they took him to a psychiatry hospital in Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt for treatment. The alumni contributed the sum of N320,000 for him to be placed in a private ward for treatment.

Emeka Nwogbo, the teacher accused of flogging a 19-month-old baby to death in Delta state has denied the allegation.




Speaking to newsmen after a delegation of the state government visited the state police command today, Emeka said he flogged the late Obinna 'like a baby' and that the child was beaten because he pushed another child.


The state police commissioner, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, says a post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death of the deceased child.

Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola on Monday February 14, publicly slammed his longtime political associates.




Speaking in Ijebu Jesa area of Osun State while addressing members of the All Progressives Congress ahead of Saturday’s governorship primary election in the state, the former Governor accused APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu of betraying him even though he trusted him and was also loyal to him.




Insisting that that politics of godfatherism and enthronement by treacherous leaders who equate themselves to the status of a god should be stamped out, he accused Tinubu and former APC interim chairman and ex-governor of Osun State, Bisi Akande, of foisting the current governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola, on the people, against popular will.




Alleging that Oyetola who took over from him after governing the state for 8 years has not consolidated on his eight-year achievements, he pointed out that ex-governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, was rejected by APC members in 2019 for working against the laid down rules. 




Aregbesola said; 




“Only God can terrify us, not man. Go and tell them wherever they are, we own this party. We own this Afenifere group. We own this people-loving group started by our patriarchs — (Obafemi) Awolowo and Bola Ige. This is Elder Akande’s group before he temporarily left us. This is our party. Stop calling yourself a factional group; you are not a faction; you are the authentic APC."




Shortly after singing a political song, Bye-bye to jagba-jagba, rede rede (nonsense) to drive home his points, he added;




“We came back home to reposition our party to where it was meant to be because we followed the leading of our leader that we thought was a noble and reliable fellow. We followed him (Tinubu) dutifully with all sense of loyalty. Some people even thought that we were no longer Muslims because of how we cooperated with him. We dealt with him without treachery but we never knew he planned evil for us. We exalted him beyond his status and he turned himself to a god over us and we had sworn to ridicule anyone who compare himself to God. God has no competitor; He is enough to be God.

“We built this party on perseverance as well as sweat and blood. We lost a lot of people in this struggle but eventually, we came into government on November 27, 2010. We were in government for eight years and governed according to the measure of God’s grace, everybody in Osun enjoyed our tenure.”




Recounting how Tinubu imposed Oyetola as his successor in Osun in 2018, the Minister said;




“When he (Tinubu) will hand over the present governor to me around July of 2018, he (Tinubu) declared that he (Oyetola) will succeed me and continue my good works. That was what he told me. He knows he has not done so if he is listening now and he has failed to call my successor to order.”




Claiming that former Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode was removed after one-term in office for allegedly deviating from the masterplan, he stated that same should be done in Osun state.




Aregbesola said; 




“That was how it was in Lagos at a time; a governor derailed and the party members unseated him using the ballot boxes. As it was in Lagos yesterday, so shall it be in Osun today. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander”

The NDLEA has released a video evidence after declaring suspended police officer Abba Kyari wanted for drug trafficking.




Nigeriana reported earlier that Kyari is accused of taking out 15kg from 25kg of cocaine which him and his team intercepted after arresting some traffickers that came into the country from Ethiopia. He is also being accused of offering to give an NDLEA officer a cut from sale of the cocaine.




In the video shared, Kyari who was wearing a face mask was seen having a discussion with an NDLEA officer in Hausa. At some point in the video, he handed over dollar notes to the anti-drug trafficking agency official.




Narrating what allegedly transpired, the NDLEA said in a statement;




The saga started on Friday, January 21, 2022, when DCP Kyari initiated a call to one of the NDLEA officers in Abuja at 2:12 pm. When the officer returned the call two minutes later, Kyari informed him he was coming to see him, to discuss an operational matter after the Jumaat service.

“He appeared at the agreed venue of the meeting with the officer and went straight to the crux of the matter.

This was it: His team had intercepted and arrested some traffickers that came into the country from Ethiopia with, according to him, 25kg of cocaine. He proposed a drug deal whereby he and his team are to take 15kg of the cocaine and leave 10kg for the prosecution of the suspects arrested with the illicit drug in Enugu. In the meantime, the purloined cocaine will be replaced with a dummy worth 15kg. He asked the NDLEA officer to persuade men of the FCT Command, to play along as well.

“By 11: 05 am on Monday, January 24, after the Agency gave the officer the green light to play along, he and Kyari began a WhatsApp call for the rest of the day. The officer conveyed their willingness to play the game.

“At this point, Kyari disclosed that the 15kg (already taken out) was shared between the informants that provided information for the seizure and himself and his men of the IRT of the Nigerian Police. According to him, the informants were given 7kg while his team took 8kg which was already sold. He then offered to pay the NDLEA team (that is the officer and the FCT commander) by selling, on their behalf, half of the remaining 10kg, thereby further reducing the original cocaine for the prosecution to just 5kg. At N7m per kilogram, the proceed from the 5kg would amount to N35m, at the exchange rate of N570 per dollar being the black market rate for the day, January 24, 2022. In effect, he would be delivering $61, 400 to the NDLEA team. He put pressure on our officer to wrap up the arrangement with the commander of the FCT Command to take custody of the drug and suspects from his men who were on ground in Abuja. At the time, he was speaking from Lagos, where he allegedly travelled for private business.

“The next day January 25, Kyari offered to send his younger brother to deliver the payment while his men deliver the suspects, but our officer turned down the suggestion, insisting he would rather deal with him in person and was therefore prepared to wait for him to return from Lagos.

“And by 5: 23 pm, Kyari was in Abuja and met with the officer at the same rendezvous where they had the first meeting. In their discussion, he disclosed how his team received the information from a double-crosser who betrayed the traffickers to him, showing a sordid connection between law enforcement agents and the drug underworld; he narrated how acting on the tip-off, his team departed Abuja to Enugu and arrested the traffickers, removed part of the consignment on his instruction and replaced same with dummies. He also indicated how to identify the remnant of the original cocaine that would be delivered to NDLEA, five original packages marked with red dots. The reason for this was to avoid the dummies being subjected to test. He forwarded a picture of the marked original cocaine package. According to the plan, once the 5kg cocaine has been tested in the presence of the suspects and confirmed positive, there would be no need to test the remaining ones, being dummies.

“He also brought with him the money from the sale of the 5kg share of the NDLEA team, a total of $61, 400. Our officer, however, preferred to take the money inside his car. Well, the car was wired with sound and video recorders.”

While explaining that relevant channels of communication were duly followed in the demand for Kyari without any result, the Agency said it cannot continue to keep other suspects in the case indefinitely while the principal suspect fails to honour official invitation.

NDLEA has the mandate to take custody of suspects and consignments of drugs seized by other arms of law enforcement. And there is a standard protocol for such transfer. This we duly followed. The suspects and drugs were delivered to us on February 8 but the last part of the process, yet to be completed, is the debriefing of Kyari.

“DCP Abba Kyari was invited by NDLEA for debriefing on Thursday February 10 through two main channels because there is a whole lot of questions begging for answers. The invitation was legitimate and formal according to our protocol. But up till the close of office hours on Friday, February 11, he refused to respond. Up till this moment, he hasnt responded. We are a law-abiding agency of government. We follow due process. In that vein, we will not detain suspects beyond the stipulated period according to the law before we charge them to court. And Kyari must be debriefed before the suspects are arraigned in court.

Having failed to honour the official invitation, NDLEA has no option but to declare DCP Abba Kyari of the Nigerian Police WANTED, right from this very moment.

The Agency warned that its not unaware of threats to the lives of its officers involved in the case, assuring that it would do everything to protect its officers.

“We are not unaware of threats to the lives of NDLEA officers involved in this investigation, even as we continue to do our best to protect our officers and men in the line of duty.

We are making this strong statement to those contemplating harmful action against NDLEA officers. They would only succeed in compounding their problems in the event of the murder of or harm to officers and men of NDLEA.
