Kate Henshaw has called out a medical doctor who allegedly raped his wife's niece, deflowered her, and threatened her not to speak to anyone about it. She later spoke to Dr. Femi's wife who gave her the details; that the girl was a virgin and was deflowered by the doctor before he threatened her to keep it quiet. The chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has given reasons some Nigerians with valid visas have been turned back at the airport by UAE authorities Two days ago, some Nigerians took to Twitter to call out the UAE authorities for turning them back at the airport despite having valid visas. Videos of the disappointed passengers were shared online. In a post shared on her Instagram page this morning, Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa stated that the UAE authorities recently released new guidelines for visa applications for people under the age of 40. She said many Nigerians now try to circumvent the guidelines by applying for “ family visas,” but when they get the family visas, they still travel alone, and this is why are being turned back at the airport. She also mentioned that six months genuine bank statement, accommodation details, as well as a return ticket, must be produced on arrival, and that passengers without these materials are being turned back. ''Recall the recent warning issued a while ago. The UAE government has now introduced a new visa regime and has stopped issuing tourist visas to persons under the age of 40 years, except for those applying for family visas. However, to evade the new visa rules, some applicants request “family visas” However, on arrival some travel alone and arrive without family. So they are turned back from the airport. Also the UAE authorities demand; 1. Return ticket, 2. Valid 6 month Bank Account Statement and 3. A valid Residence Address. There have been quite a number of Nigerian passengers turned back from the UAE airport in the last few weeks.'' She also shared a video from an interview she granted a while back explaining the new UAE visa regime Watch below; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siC4Kns2MbU

The President of the Academic Union of Universities ASUU, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, has said that the federal government should have used the $23 million Abacha loot to meet the demands of the striking lecturers. ASUU has been on strike since February 14 this year. The striking lecturers are seeking improved welfare, revitalization of public universities, and academic autonomy among other demands. One bone of contention for the lecturers is the non-payment of university revitalization funds, which amounts to about N1.1 trillion. The Federal Government has however said it doesn’t have the money to pay such an amount, citing low oil prices during the Muhammadu Buhari administration. In an interview with Channels TV, Osodeke opined that if the Federal government was sincere, it would have used the $23 million Abacha loot the US government recently returned, to meet the demands of the striking lecturers. ''Let us take a typical man. You have a house and your child is seriously sick and you were paid money that you were not expecting, where would you put the money? That child will be the first thing you will treat. Is it not? Before you start thinking of how you are going to buy clothes. Your universities have been shut for six months. You said no funds. Now a fund you were not expecting came. Where should you if you really love education put the money? But you are seeing how the country is going. And you say you don't have money.'' he said Watch a video of him speaking below; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PBq1LHqqQs

The Nigeria Police Force, NPF has suspended two Supernumerary Police Officers identified as Obaze Emmanuella Uju and Obaze Blessing for what has been described as discreditable conduct and violation of Social media policy. In a statement signed by the force public relations officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, CSP the police described the violation as a breach of the provisions of the Police Act, 2020, and the Nigeria Police Guidelines for Recruitment/Promotion/Discipline of Supernumerary Police (SPY) 2013 by the Inspector-General of Police, as captured in a video posted by one of the officers in a viral video on August 3, 2022. Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has issued strict warning on the incessant, illegal and unwarranted use of police uniforms restricted to bonafide serving officers of the force. The statement reads in full, The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc, has issued strict warning on the incessant, illegal and unwarranted use of Police Uniforms restricted to bonafide serving officers of the Nigeria Police Force. This is coming on the heels of the suspension of two Supernumerary Police Officers, with immediate effect, for breach of the provisions of the Police Act, 2020, and The Nigeria Police Guidelines for Recruitment/Promotion/Discipline of Supernumerary Police (SPY) 2013 by the Inspector-General of Police, as captured in a video posted by one of the officers in a viral video on August 3, 2022. The Supernumerary Police, by the combined effects of the Police Act, 2020 and the Nigeria Police Guidelines for Recruitment/Promotion/Discipline of Supernumerary Police (SPY),2013 was established solely to complement the services of regular Police Officers when needed by Ministries, Departments and Agencies/Multi-National Companies, and Banks who make requests and upon approval pay for their training and cover their emoluments for the period of their engagement. (Sections 21-24 of the Police Act, 2020). It is equally important to mention that in line with Section 25 (2) (3) of the Police Act, 2020 and the Nigeria Police Guidelines for Recruitment/Promotion/Discipline of Supernumerary Police (SPY), 2013issued by the Inspector-General of Police (Guidelines for SPYs), the mode of dressing of SPY police mandates its SPY officers above the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police not to wear uniforms. Similarly, extant laws delineate the Supernumerary uniform. It states that they must be on their approved uniform, ash coloured shirt with “SPY” inscriptions all over, over black with shoulder badge carrying the word “SUPERNUMERARY”. Supernumerary Officers adorning police black, neon blue or camouflage uniforms run afoul of the law and would be adequately sanctioned. The suspended supernumerary officers — Obaze Blessing with SPY number 5709, and Obaze Emmanuella Uju with SPY number 5708, adorned themselves in conventional police officers’ uniforms contrary to the code regulating the SPY service. One of them similarly adorned the rank of Superintendent of Police which is contrary to extant laws. Above all, they portrayed themselves in the viral video and other videos as undisciplined and unprofessional, in contravention of the Police Social Media Policy, with acts glorifying ill-gotten wealth and ill-morals, which has received wide condemnation from members of the public. The Police hereby calls on all supernumerary officers to adhere strictly with extant laws as strict sanctions would apply to erring officers. The Force is similarly revisiting other matters of infractions against members of the Supernumerary Police with a view to handing out necessary sanctions to other defaulters. Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, is better than Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. The governor stated this during an interview with TVC, in response to a question on the chances of Tinubu, winning the 2023 presidential election. "Who is better than him in the political terrain of Nigeria today?” Masari asked. When asked about the chances of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, he said the former Vice President, though formidable, is a ''veteran loser.'' “I think Atiku is a formidable force but our force is greater than him and he knows that. He is a veteran of contesting elections and also a veteran loser." he said. The governor dismissed talks that 2023 is Atiku’s best chance of becoming President, saying, “That was said several times and it never came to pass and this one will never come to pass." Asked if Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was better, Masari said: “I don’t know him. Somebody who was a governor of Anambra? Go and ask a Katsina man and the politicians, how many of them know Peter Obi? We are talking about a presidential candidate of Nigeria, somebody who has cut all barriers – tribal, religious, regional, name it.” When asked if Nigerian of northern extraction were buying into the Tinubu candidacy, Masari replied: “They’ve already bought into it. First of all, Bola Tinubu is not a new name in politics of Nigeria and we, the people of Katsina, know the role played by Bola Tinubu in 2015 for the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari. We know the support he gave in 2019 for the continuation of Buhari. We, here in Katsina, are not ingrates." Watch the video below; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF_crgrw_2o

The Nigeria Police Force has vowed to go after producers of plate numbers that can automatically change. A video of a car with a technology that helps switch its plate numbers has gone viral. In the video, the two sides of the plate number of the car, carry two different numbers and so they can be interchanged when an automated button is pressed. Some Nigerians have called on the authorities to look into this as it will help criminals evade arrests. Reacting to the viral video, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the police will investigate the source of the automatic plate numbers and go after those producing it. We have come across this video which has gone viral. This technology is good but very criminal in our Nigerian context and it should be condemned. Every vehicle in Nigeria must be registered and have a number, not many numbers. We will work with other relevant security agencies in this regard to curb proliferation and incessant use of fake or unregistered number, and even discourage the coverage of number plate with a leather cover. We will surely investigate the source of this and work against production, spread and usage of this kind of technology which has been seen and perceived as dangerous and inimical to our security. We urge Nigerians to reject this technology and use of fake numbers, as its criminal and punishable under the law.'' he said Watch the video below; https://youtube.com/shorts/sYAVp3Q_gx8?feature=share

Social media users are sharing different opinions after clergyman and relationship expert, Kingsley Okonkwo, stated that Jesus is not against divorced people remarrying. While preaching recently, Pastor Okonkwo said he doesn't know where people get the notion that Jesus is against divorced people getting married again. According to him, Jesus is only against separated couples remarrying but if they are fully divorced, they can remarry ''Jesus never said you can't remarry when you are divorced. I don't know where people even got it from. So what confuses people is that Jesus said if you put away your wife and you go and remarry, you are committing adultery There is putting away and there is what is call giving a bill of divorcement. Putting away is separation. Giving a bill of divorcement is the proper divorce. When you are seperated you are not divorced. Some couple separate so they can work on the marriage. Some times they come together. In counselling we call it controlled separation, so you are separated but working with a counsellor. Separation is not divorce. You can separate and come back. When you are separated, you can't go and remarry. That is what Jesus means that when you separate and go and remarry you are committing adultery because you are not divorced and if you go and marry somebody that is just separated and divorced, you are also committing adultery because the person is not preperly divorced. That is what it means. The bible is clear that once you divorce someone you can remarry'' While some of his followers agreed with his explanation, others are against it as they opined that Jesus is against divorce.
