Yes. You can buy a one way. paradisewoods: Pls everyone if i am going for my masters in the uk , must i book a return ticket ? Can't i just book a one way ticket ? |
Hi, hope to see you soon. The best way to get registered is via your school clinic. Visit the clinic to fill the medical form and get registered. Don Oms: Thanks a lot for the info bro. I actually never knew they could give NHS no to Tier-4 Students but I know of the Insurance number. I should be in Newcastle next week by God's grace. I'll PM you when I settle there. |
Hi nairalanders, when you get to d UK get yourself registered with d NHS and get a nhs no because you are entitled to free health care. The healthcare exludes eye and dental treatments. Get a nus card and rail card for more discounts. If you think of working 20hrs you wont be taxed cos you are earning below £9440, remember to get a national insurance number and it is free of charge (don't pay) |
There are loads of airport taxis. Your accomodation agreememt hope it is for 52weeks? Use a KLM flight cos d luggage allowance is larger than Emirates. I would have picked you up but I am in the hospital all week. Feel free to contact me if you have any queries. Bring some nigerian food when come for ursef. Seal them properly and put in your main luggage. When I mean nigerian food (indomie, crayfish, sauce, grinded pepper etc) you can get rice and beans, garri here. You are welcome. Debby D: I've sorted my accommodation with Liberty Quay but no special airport pickup, probably just get a cab to my hostel... |
My little advise in support is if you can get an accommodation which is inclusive of bills exempts you from council tax and has internet. Don't use agents meet the landlord directly.Read your agreement beforw signing cos noone can be trusted. Some Asian landlords can be funny as this is from personal experience. The bristish landlords have a strict policy. ... so read your agreement carefully and give to someone to help out of possible.Ensure you visit the building to check the building. Be smart about it. Most landlord takes depoaiy but it is refundable and ensure your landlors deposit your deposit with DPS as it secures the retuen after the contract ends.Regards justwise: School accommodation is a no-go-area only if you are swimming in cash, its expensive and restrictive but socially beneficiary especially for new students. |

Nairalander pls note if you are not carrying more than 37kg luggage including hand lugage... yoi can fly emirate. If your luggage is more fly other airline with generous liggage allowance. Klm, arik (most generous with 64kg), air france, BA, air maroc (not d best but cheap). Regardd |
Jen1: Pls, is the premium service available for tier 4 study visa?No Premium service. |
For nairalander going to sheffield, better to book your flights to manchester and get a national express coach to sheffield or preferable a train to sheffield. |
Wise move and congrats on ur visa. Have you sorted oit accommodation and airport pickup? You can bring some african food that can sustain you for sometime but you can get african food in newcastle. If you have any worries you can ask. Congrats and welcome to newcastle Debby D: just got the sms to pick up my packet at the embassy this evening but I'll be coming to Newcastle (Northumbria University) by 27th. Booked already with KLM, stopover at Amsterdam |
It depends on gow much you are willing to spend on ticket. I would advise you use either BA emirate, klm, air france. Note emirate is okay if u dont v a liggage more than 30kg and 7kg hand luggage Using BA you ll be connected to newcastle intl airport from london. If you use emirate or qatar you ll chamge over in dubai or doha. If you us virgin or arik you ll get to london quicker (6hrs) but a train or coach to newcastle will be 6-7hrs. If you are to fly a dkmestic flight you may be charged for your luggage. So be wise and book your ticket from Lagos to newcastle so u dont have tk worry about your luggage until u land in newcastle.
I'll be coming to Newcastle Uni next week hopefully. I have accommodation already but I want to know my best route from Heathrow to NU. Thanks.
|
