PoliticsGroup Berates Buhari On Empty Treasury, Demands Publication Of Handover Note . by PhockPhockMan(op): 5:03am On Jun 25, 2015
Political action group that promotes democracy and good governance, Move on Nigeria, has faulted the recent claims by President Muhammadu Buhari that he inherited empty treasury from President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a statement released to the press in Lagos and signed by its National Coordinator, Mr. Clem Aguiyi, the group described the statement as misleading and uncharitable and wondered why the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government would continue to lie on virtually every issue.

Aguiyi challenged the president to rise above partisan politics by making public the handover notes he received the same way President Jonathan publicised the PWC report on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) so that the world would know how empty the treasury is.

In faulting the claims made by President Buhari Aguiyi said the former administration as at May 29 left behind the sum of US$29billion in Foreign Reserve and $2billion in SWF, adding that the sum would have been higher if not the governors’ insistence led by then Governor Rotimi Amaechi the factional Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Buhari’s campaign DG on sharing the fund.

The group decried the desperation of the ruling party and the respected president to criminalise President Jonathan and paint him as a plunderer and looter of the nation’s treasury before the generality of Nigerians.

Buhari reportedly said he inherited a virtually empty treasury and that it was adding a disgrace that Nigeria cannot pay salaries of its workforce.
Expressing his dismay over the president’s statement, Aguiyi described the claim as a blatant lie “unscientific and unfair,” stressing that the immediate past administration “left behind over US$30billion.”

He called on Buhari to also tell Nigerians how much Jonathan inherited from the Yar’Adua administration and how much Umaru Musa Yar’Adua inherited from the Olusegun Obasanjo regime.

He said: “The APC government at the center today can’t tell us that there is no Excess Crude Account (ECA), Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) or are we saying the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIR) and related agencies had not in the last one month been generating revenue?

“Until they are able to prove they had no receipts from these government agencies in the last one month before Nigerians can now buy into their frivolous claims of an empty treasury.”

He recalled that under the Jonathan’s administration, Nigeria was rated the largest economy in Africa and 26th largest in the world, querying how come such a government would leave behind an empty treasury.

He said: “Money made by government is meant to be spent, and that was what the immediate past administration did responsibly.

Aguiyi also dismissed as fallacious the claim by the APC and their hirelings that Jonathan sold an oil block for $1.85billion and remitted only $100million. In dismissing the claim he said it is verifiable that the Jonathan’s administration did not sale a single oil bloc in its entire six years which put a lie to the allegation that he sold an oil block at all. The only oil bloc attended to by the administration was the block ceded to NPDC by NNPC. Being a government agency dealing with a sister agency , NPDC was mandated to pay book value of the bloc which they already begun to pay under Jonathan’s watch.

According to Aguiyi, whatever debt incurred by the administration in its effort to safeguard the territorial integrity of Nigeria was justified because for six years Boko Haram tormented Nigeria which increased our defense and military spending yet under Jonathan, Nigeria became the largest Africa economy and 26 in the world amidst deadly security challenges and dwindling international prices of oil. In spite of all these, the federal government never owed salary.

He challenged President Buhari to name the federal agency where salaries are owed as at the date he became president.

“The inability of some 22 states to pay salaries has nothing to do with President Jonathan as it is left for each state of the federation to set her priorities and manage her finances. President Jonathan was not a military Head of State and has no business controlling the purse of any state.

“Instead of states under the control of APC to pursue the noble ideals of social order, the governors were busy collecting jumbo pays and allowances, huge security votes, buying private jets and accumulating debts beyond their capacity. Incidentally these were the same states that resisted every caution to save for the rainy day.

“The government should do well to ask the governors what happened to the money they received from the Federation Account.

“Upon inception of Jonathan’s administration, it is on record that the price of oil at the global stage was over $100 do per barrel and at the close of the administration, it dropped to $46. Yet, there wasn’t collapse of government and federal civil servants were paid as at when due.

“It will be misleading therefore for Buhari and indeed the ruling APC to claim to have met an empty treasury.”

“We insists that President Buhari should publish for public consumption and scrutiny Jonathan’s handover notes or better still face the job of presidency and quit using every excuse to attack and demonise his predecessor.”

PoliticsWe Will Criticise Buhari Constructively -PDP. by PhockPhockMan(op): 8:57pm On Jun 24, 2015
The Peoples Democratic Party has vowed that it will continue to give constructive criticism to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Acting Chairman of Board of Trustees of the party, Dr. Haliru Bello, stated this after the meeting of the Board in Abuja on Wednesday.

It was the first time the Board would meet after President Goodluck Jonathan left office on May 29, 2015.

However, unlike what was obtained before, Wednesday’s BoT meeting was not going to be followed by the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings of the now opposition party.

It was also the first time the former ruling party’s BoT meeting would hold outside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting was held at the almost deserted national headquarters of the party located at Wuse, Zone Five, Abuja.

Bello, who spoke with journalists after the meeting, said the Board would also provide guidance to all the members of the party.

He said, “We will offer constructive criticism to the Federal Government.

“The PDP will bounce back in style and we are already in the process of bringing back the glory of the party.”

Also speaking, the Secretary of the Board, Sen. Walid Jibril said members of the Board had agreed to tour all the six zones of the country.

The tour, he said, would be used to speak with influential members of the party in the zones and discuss how to bring the party back to reckoning.

Jibril said the party and the Board were working together to elect minority officers in both chambers of the National Assembly.

He said, “The Board of Trustees is up to the task of providing guidance, not only to the executives of the party, but to members of the National Assembly that is why we have involved ourselves very much in the collaboration with the National Working Committee to ensure that there is synergy between the appointments within the national assembly.

“We are calling on all our members to remain calm and should not be disturbed because we are doing all our best to ensure sanity is brought to our party.

“Our party is going to come back again and we are going to bounce back. As we are doing so we need their cooperation and without their cooperation, I do not think we will succeed.

“Let them give us time so that we can do our best to ensure that we bring back the prominence of this party.”

He said the Post Morten Committee set up by the party to look into what went wrong during the last elections had been granted a 10-week extension.

Until the committee submits its report, he said the party won’t discuss on how to elect a substantive chairman for the party.

He said the Acting National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, was given three months to act.

He said after the expiration of the three months, the party would meet and take another step.

Yeah, because there was a colabo between the majority north and the south west against a President from a minority south south!
This goes beyond tribal politics. PDP, having lost out in almost all front will surely fight and hold onto any straw for survival. You may be wrong If you think that PDP is dead in the north. Take that to the bank.

Ask yourself how many APC senators he has in his fold and how many of those senators who are mostly northerns would commit political suicide by decamping to PDP. Is it Goje from gombe? Or Ndume from Borno or yerima from zamfara or Dino from kogi? PDP is dead in the north! Can't u see that? And u forget that most of these senators both in PDP and APC are corrupt as such would be ready to cut a deal with the efcc. One thing am very very sure of is that, Saraki would never have won if really the president was truly against him. You can take that to the bank!
But Tambuwal won speakersip despite the fact that the presidency was against him.

PoliticsRe: Tribute To Someone Tanoids Call The "Daura President" - Cramjones by PhockPhockMan: 7:08pm On Jun 21, 2015
[s]
cramjones:
Dear President Mohammadu Buhari,

Even though I had the honor and privilege of telling you these things at the recently concluded AU meeting in South Africa, I will also voice it out here for Nigerian youths to know including the saTANoids who refer to you the "Daura President".

1. Thank you PMB for your move to merge 42 ministries to 19 to reduce crass wastage in the system.

2. Thank you PMB for your move to merge ICPC and EFCC, it was indeed dumb and stupid to have two lame duck agencies that in the last 6 years "fought" corruption only in the pages of newspapers. This is a good and smart move Mr. President.

3. Thank you PMB for renewing our friendship with the West and other African countries, for making them believe that we have the political will to fight Boko Haram and other terrorist threat.

4. Thank you PMB for bombing the militants in Calabar that think they can be paid by the government for simply carrying a gun and threatening our oil flows and ultimately revenue. For any stupid militant that tries nonsense shall know that the Nigerian military will respond with brute force.

5. Thank you PMB for taking time to really shop for the best of the best as ministers and advisers in this CHANGE government.

Finally, thank you PMB for winning this elections. You showed Nigerians and people around the world, that when you have a passion in your heart to achieve a thing, you just have to keep moving and never give up. Sir you never gave up and today you are the best thing that have happened to Nigeria, a country that was about to fall of a cliff from clueless, wicked, insensitive, crass and weak leadership.

Though the saTANoids and all enemies of Nigeria the call you the "Daura President", it is inconsequential for Nigeria shall be great again.

An extra day with the Otueke clueless drunkard, who has become an abandoned political light weight, and who left a N7 trillion deficit, would have completely and utterly destroyed our country.

God Bless Nigeria, God bless PMB!

-CramJones [/s]
