Politics › We Don’t Need A Violent Minister – Group Chides APC. by PhockPhockMan(op): 11:41am On May 04, 2015 |
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has received fresh knocks over the alleged attack on the party’s governorship candidate in the April 11 election, Barr. Okey Ezea, by the party’s national vice chairman in the South East, Emma Eneukwu. Ezea had over the weekend alleged that Eneukwu slapped him as a result of disagreements arising from ministerial slot in the incoming Muhammadu Buhari administration. The guber candidate had in a text message to some journalists on Friday alleged that he was attacked by the national vice chairman. The text reads: “Emma Eneukwu slapped me today because I told South East leaders that Nsukka has not been minister since 1999. He did this before Rochas, Ngige, Izenaso, J.O.J, General Eze, Ucha etc. I just said the truth and requested justice and equity in the affairs of our party and Enugu State. Emma wants to be minister by violence. Emma is from Udi LGA which has minister since 2007, including the incumbent, Chinedu Nebo. We must fight injustice and oppression. APC is change.” He said Mr. Eneukwu took offence when he suggested that his zone, Nsukka, should fill the ministerial slot to be allocated to the state in the Buhari administration. However, Mr. Eneukwu quickly denied the allegation, saying Mr. Ezea wants to tarnish his image. ”It is politics of calumny. As far as I am concerned the story was fabricated. It didn’t happen. It was a calculated attempt to tarnish my image and to smear my person. I’m not a violent person and so I have referred him to the leadership of the party in the zone”, he had maintained. However, an Enugu based group, Citizens Reform Network, CRN, while speaking to DAILY POST on the development, chided the APC for resorting to violence in resolving issues at such level of the party. The group, therefore, urged the Buhari administration to consider level-headed individuals for appointment into his cabinet. “It is so disgraceful that Enugu State should be in the news for this kind of ugly incident. We find it so distasteful that such calibre of people should resort to violence as the only option in resolving disputes even at the party’s hierarchy. “This is not the first time the party is presenting itself in the news for the wrong thing in Enugu State. Before the March 28 presidential elections, supporters of the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari were also attacked at his (Buhari’s campaign office). It was widely reported that some members of the party were later hospitalized as a result of the attack. “Our question is this- if the party should continue to fight among themselves to this level, what becomes of other citizens of Enugu State? What do we expect from these class of people when eventually they are entrusted with public positions like ministerial appointments?” The CRN asked in the statement signed by its coordinator, Comrade Chuma Eze. “We don’t need a slapping minister at this level of our democracy; we don’t need violent persons into such important public office. This is the time to overthrow party sentiments and appoint technocrats with good public image into ministerial positions. “The APC used its change slogan to win the heart of Nigerians before the general elections but if this is the kind of change we should expect, it then means that we are in for the worst times. http://dailypost.ng/2015/05/04/we-dont-need-a-violent-minister-group-chides-apc-over-slapping-of-enugu-guber-candidate/ |

She hurriedly convened a meeting of Africa's first ladies so that they could elect a new President for their organization, hence denying Aisha Buhari the honour of continuing the tenure.
Disappointments can lead people to even curse God, if unchecked, and can also lead to depression.

We hated APC and all it brought and voted out Ngige because we want to make sure that Buhari fails and it has backfired big time on us. But the funny thing is that many of us are yet to realize that Buhari has won and that's why you see some claiming that they don't need the government influence to survive. ckmayoca: If u talk of democracy that way then why did Jonathan order the seizing of some news papers last year from getting into circulation? Why wld he ban obasanjos book? Let's all stop deceiving ourselves abeg. Let me educate you, I know you're a kid. Court stops Obasanjo from publishing autobiography
A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Wuse Zone II, Abuja, has granted an order restraining former President Olusegun Obasanjo from going on with plans to publish or have someone publish on his behalf, his new autobiography titled, ‘My Watch.’
Request for the order was made by a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu, in an ex parte application.
Justice Valentine Ashi made the order on Friday as he agreed with Kashamu’s lawyer, Alex Iziyon (SAN), that part of the content of the book related to the subject matter of the N20bn libel suit instituted by the PDP chief against former President Obasanjo.
The court restrained the former President from publishing the book, pending the determination of the libel suit instituted against him.
The content of the book was said to be related to a letter dated December 2, 2013, written by Obasanjo to President Goodluck Jonathan, claiming that Kashamu was wanted for drug-related crime in the United States of America.
Iziyon had argued on Friday that since part of the content of the autobiography related to the December 2, 2013 letter, which is the subject matter of the libel suit, it was wrong for Obasanjo to be allowed to proceed to comment on, write books about or make publications on the issue yet to be decided by the court.
Justice Ashi, in his ruling, restrained Obasanjo from either publishing the book or have it published on his behalf by anybody, pending the determination of the main suit.
The court order read in part, “The defendant, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, whether by himself, his agents, servants, privies or any other person by whatever name called and howsoever described, is hereby restrained from publishing or caused to be published in the yet to be published book, ‘My Watch’ or any autobiography or biography and any extracts of same, by whatever name called or howsoever titled, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice hereof.”
The judge further restrained Obasanjo and his agents “from further writing, printing, publishing or causing to be published or printed or circulated, or otherwise, publishing of and concerning the plaintiff, the statement contained in the Daily Sun (pages 47-49) and The Leadership (pages 3 to newspapers of December 12, 2013, and which statements are alleged to have reproduced the letter written by the defendant to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, titled: ‘Before it is too late’ or similar statements pending the determination of the motion on notice.”
But the judge also directed Kashamu to enter into a bond with the Chief Registrar of the court for damages he would pay should the order restraining Obasanjo from publishing the book turned out to be something the court ought not to have been granted.
The judge asked the applicant to “execute a bond with the Registrar of the court to pay such damages as shall be assessed should it turn out that the order ought not to have been granted in the first place.”
The court adjourned hearing in the main suit till December 10.
Kashamu had, shortly after the content of the letter was widely published in electronic and print media, sued Obasanjo for alleged defamation of his character.
He argued that Obasanjo “maliciously and recklessly published a letter, titled, ‘Before it is too late,’ which contained words which he (Obasanjo) knew to be false.”
In his writ of summons, Kashamu stated that the criminal imputation made against him by Obasanjo in his letter, had injured him (Kashamu).
He is praying the court to award in his favour, and against the ex-President, N20bn for the damage he had suffered as a result of the allegation.

MrMcJay: They aren't sitting in Ekiti, they are sitting in Ibadan. The public holiday declared in Ekiti doesn't cover Ibadan. Thus, they are going to Impeach Fayose right from Ibadan and the APC-led FG would enforce it with the newly-acquired federal might
Remember that the new House in Ekiti cannot reverse the impeachment of Fayose as it is deemed as done.
If there is any contrary argument to this, it would be decided in Court when Fayose has been removed.
Mind you, immediately he is impeached, his immunity ends and he would be arrested for his role in that election rigging tape. He would be too busy trying to stay out of prison than getting into the Government House. @bolded You're a fool for thinking that way, so if they relocate to Ibadan, will they be relocating with the clerk of the Ekiti house of assembly and Ekiti State Chief Judge?. All Progressives Congress, APC lawmakers in Ekiti state have given Governor Ayo Fayose conditions which must be met before they can stop their attacks on him.
The 19 APC on Thursday shunned the peace meeting convened by Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) to reconcile them with Governor Fayose but issued a statement afterwards.
According to PUNCH, listing their truce terms, they demanded immediate removal of all illegal structures that aid the activities of thugs and miscreants in and around the Ekiti State House of Assembly premises; restoration of the constitutionally recognised Speaker (Omirin), and other principal officers illegally impeached back to their lawful positions; and the G19 should be allowed unfettered access to and from the Ekiti State House of Assembly to perform their legislative duties until the expiration of their tenure on June 6, 2015.
The lawmakers added that Governor Fayose is to meet the terms before May 4,2015.
