One question... Have u used a mediatek device with Qhd display? Snapdragon 810 might overheat, but snapdragon 808 and 805 do not overheat. Try compare a mediatek device with Qhd screen and a snapdragon device with a Qhd screen, both with same screen size and same battery size and tell me if mediatek won't falter .

Agreed. And I really respect mediatek, especially the helio x10. They are really pushing snapdragon hard right now which is a good thing for us consumers. Snapdragon is still more powerful and efficient on paper, but not by many miles like 1 or 2 yrs ago. This can only lead to one thing in the future..... Price of smartphones will reduce and good for us consumers.

Remember when apple use to sell their iPhone for $1,000 plus for an 8gb model and 3.5 inch screen? Android made the competition fairer and I can also see same thing happening with snapdragon the way mediatek are going.

But this would only affect android phones and android companies that makes premium phones.

NO it comes with power pump rather and its not real benchmark its your unrealistic observations cos quick charge is still the fastest...

Before we thank mediatek for providing cheap affordable SOC, I thought its important to know what mediatek offers. And that is 'low performance' as mediatek comes out 'mostimes' last among all chips in performance and benchmark scores. This means
Mediatek phone are quick to slow down or lag, screen flicks during games and some games are not even avaliable for mediatek chips cos its too low to power these games. Some other companies make less graphic version of games for mediatek.
Also mediatek chips are not as power efficient as chips like exynos, meaning a samsung phone can come with less battery size and still last on power per charge than a mediatek phone with much more bigger battrey.
Plus mediatek does not come with what you find on snapdragon and exynos called 'quick charge' which allows a phone to charge up to 3 times faster, rather it comes with a feature called "pump-express" which is still faster than normal charging but much slower than qualcomm fast charge. Plus you would require a special charger.

But if you are less bothered about it, then you have no problem buying a mediatek phone.

The lock he was talking about is "network lock" not regional locked since its now unlocked, you can use it on any network in the world. And there is nothing like regional lock, unless the manufacturer refuses to sell it in a particular region, but in this case, you are buying from a person, not manufacturer.

Well priv cost about $600(about N120k) in the US/Canada. Considering we leave in a third world country, shipping goods here, involves a lot of cost therefore prices are suppose to hike up.

However a friend of mine confirmed to me that he purchased his Priv from an undisclosed source here in Nigeria for N220,000. Yes! That's more expensive than and iphone and s6 edge.

So if you are planing of Getting a priv, you might wanna set your budget between 180K - 230K as the phone is that expensive.

Samsung Grand prime. Its more expensive than 29k but if you can find. It for less or add some change, you won't regret it.
