PoliticsSocial Charter: The People Vs The Government by phraoh(op): 7:54am On Jan 11, 2012
If d govt is serious, dis r some steps to take to ensure 9ja doesn't go broke as Okonji nd Sanusi just said.

THIS IS OUR CHARTER.

1. THERE MUST BE IN PLACE A LAW THAT MAKES STEALING PUBLIC FUNDS AN OFFENCE PUNISHABLE BY PUBLIC EXECUTION.

2. THE IMMUNITY CLAUSE MUST GO BOTH AT THE FEDERAL AND STATE LEVELS.

3. THE PRESIDENT MUST SELL OFF ALL THE AIRCRAFTS IN THE PRESIDENTIAL FLEET (the Prime Minister of Britain, a much bigger economy does not have one and travels with British Airways).

4. THE PRESIDENT'S SALARY AND ALLOWANCES MUST NOT EXCEED $200,000 (our President has no reason whatsoever, to earn more than the American President, for what?)

5. THE PRESIDENTIAL VILLA MUST BE SOLD OUT AND BE REPLACED WITH NO MORE THAN A 6BEDROOM HOUSE (the British Prime Minister lives in a 3-bedroom apartment).

6. FEEDING IN THE PRESIDENTIAL AND VP LODGE SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN 1MILLION NAIRA PER MONTH. (Presently it is 90 million Naira per month for both)

7. NO LEGISLATOR SHALL EARN MORE THAN A PERMANENT SECRETARY.

8. NO GOVT OFFICIAL SHALL HAVE MORE THAN ONE OFFICIAL CAR.

9. NO GOVT OFFICIAL OR APPOINTEE WOULD BE ENTITLED TO FOREIGN MEDICAL TREATMENT (whatever is provided for the citizens should be good enough for our officials).

10. THERE SHALL BE NO OFFICE OF THE FIRST LADY AT THE FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL GOVT LEVELS.

Dis our SOCIAL CONTRACT.

The whole world knows a good policy when they see one. . . Except of course the Nigerians for whom the policy is made!

U have not answered me.

Of course the whole world knows, how do u go about explaining our poor minimum wage and the fact that it took forever to even make it 18k.What do u say about the exorbitant amount allocated to flimsy things like food etc in the bugdet or the bogus salaries of our elected reps who also feed on our public treasury and dnt pay for any bleeping thing.

What do u expect a cleaner (thank God for that job sef) who leaves in Ajegunle, has 5 kids and works in VI to to do? His or her transport fare with this subsidy removal will finish 18k in 10days tops.

Why the hell should we care about EU and UN,i thought they said we should practice democrazy and i also thot that we use to be a soverign nation.Shouldnt the voice of the masses at least matter.

Some policies are good buh only when all the groundworks have been laid for it.

Illustration: how will u ask me (assuming u were ma Father and u work in NBC) to share a bottle of coke with my 8 siblings when i know that NBC gives you 9 crates of coke every week coupled with 12 crates you steal from them and they are all stocked up in your room for only ua pleasure.

So,how do u expect us to believe, that the subsidy is a good thing when the government officials chop our money with impunity and when it takes them forever to increase the minimum wage?

Msceeeew,i don even dey provoke as i dey write this thin.

RomanceEffect Of Fuel Subsidy Removal On Romance And Others by phraoh(op): 12:24pm On Jan 02, 2012
This is a wonderful time in the life of most Nigerians as we have all received our new year gift from our government. The very first i guess, cos we have never fully and directly received anythin from the government, We must commend them.

So please, what are the effects of this gift on a very lighter mood since Nigerians cant do anythin other than accept this gift.

1. A friend of mine just slapped his mechanic for washing his engine with petrol.

2. Ozone in mainland Lagos will start making more money because Silverbird on d island is now a long thing.

3. Boyfriend on the mainland and girlfriend on the Island is now a long distance relationship and if living in Lekki its even longer, when u factor in the toll gate fees.

4. Girl enters your car and 1st checks your fuel gauge to rate u.If its full,u are a larger guy.

5. Girl: pls take me out,Guy: lets go to d fillin station.

6. Petrol is now status symbol oooo for ma country.

7. If a guy drives a girl with his AC on from Lagos mainland to the Island, just know that he loves.

8. Lagos residents that went home to other states for the xmas are now farming to make more money so as to afford the exorbitant transport fare cos they were budgeting for April and the gift landed on the 1st of January (never new that gift can have this effect).

9. Even sef ,this gift, has dissuaded southerners (who went home for the break) living in the north from going back as transport fare and long distance na long thin,a feat that even boko haram killing couldnt achieve.

10. Dear children born from this year and above,i know u are not reading this now buh am sure u will read it of later, just know that it was this Singular gift from them at the top of our government that made Cars extinct in Nigeria.

Who knew that a gift can have these major impacts, now i will know what to ask when i request for gifts.

Your gift and dem gift nobi mate.

anonymous6:
I agree that it is that female's money and her right to spend 56 million pounds on a house for her dogs but at the same time, is it the right way to spend her money, in my opinion NO; in the end of the day that is her money Not ours. The way I see wealthy people is their are four groups of wealthy people:
1. Good people, Down to earth, the ones who help & do philanthropy work  examples like: Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Oprah and etc
2. the ones that are good or neutral people but philanthropy isn't their thing, they help in their own way regardless of how little or big it is
3. The spoiled brats that were born with a silver spoon in their mouth, don't know about the real world around them(and could careless to know) and live every day as a party examples like Marie Antoinette( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Antoinette ), Paris Hilton, and etc
4. The ones that are not spoiled persa and know the reality they live in but don't give a damn about anybody else but themselves; and feel they can do what they want with their money as a right(which is true) example's like the former CEO of Enron, Bernie Madoff( I think you all know who that thief is)

You know what wealthy people, middle class people, poor people have one common thing in common we are all human, and their are good, heartless and neutral people of all circles of society, it's sad but that's the truth. King Solomon and King Herod were some of the most powerful and wealthiest people of the ancient times but one lived his life to the fullest but helped out the poor which was King Solomon(but he was a player though) and one was heartless to the core, could careless(his wife didn't help), and he killed people in his pursuit to find Jesus. Two humans, Two men, one was a good man in his own way and one was a evil mess.

This example just shows that not every wealthy person is Like Oprah, it's sad but it is the hard truth and their life and problem; in the end thogh all humans die and they are not taking their richest with them, and they will have God to answer to on how good they were as humans when they living on earth.  smiley
WORD. It all boils down to how one wants to spend his/her money.

Byiatch, when babies are dying and suffering in Africa she buys a house for her dogs. .
Without sounding callous, how is dying children in Africa their concern, its not like they are African. Its up to them to want to be charitable/philantropic with their money.
