My brother judge not, so you will not be judge. Little wonder you view Christianity as religion and you claim to be born again. Obviously you don't know what it is to be born again sir!

GOTVee:
sad Even though I'm a born again Christian, I knew he would soon die when he started living an adulterous life. He sang fake gospel songs to deviate the minds of true Christians from the ways of our lord Jesus while sleeping with several women behind the scenes. Very unfortunate to share Same religion with him. It's better we Christians adopt polygamy like our Muslim brothers than deceiving ourselves in front of our lord Jesus sad

I am surprised as Pastor Chris Okafor on this. No true man of God attacks a fellow man of God. Meanwhile if Pastor Tunde Bakare is bold enough to step out and organize "save Nigeria" rally during Jonathan regime, why can't Pastor Chris Okafor also step out and organize "save Nigeria" rally at this particular time or who say it must be Pastor Tunde Bakare everytime. kingkakaone:
This is a good decision by Jimi but he needs to do more in terms of making his presence felt both with the masses and with the elites.

Imagine his opponent has done underground works by meeting with the elites and making sure they give him their word of support, eg, Otedola, an some obas in Lagos, entertainers, etc.

These people listed above are influencers whether you agree or not. They have loyalists who can do all they desire irrespective of their personal choices.

Masses are good but try to court the elites if you are to win in the forthcoming election.

Please Jimi, I know it won't be easy for you to win but I don't want you to make it easy for them to win either.

Nice one to the Bayelsians. It's really high time that we start holding all these our so called elected leaders accountable, local government chairmen, to state governors, to Senators and Federal government. Nigeria will be great again!

My concern really is why is he resisting arrest if he really doesn't have skeleton in his cupboard. Afterall Saraki obeyed invitation by attending several hearings even as a Senate president. Why is Dino causing pandemonium up and down. Let him follow them and say his own version of the story if truly he's clean. I'm tired of all this drama. #SenatorFormingAboveTheLaw

Career / Re: Firstbank Terminates Appointment Of About 300 Staff Without Benefit by phronesis(m): 10:35am On Aug 19, 2017
First Bank Terminates 300 Staff- Let the World Hear Our Story. In 2016 First Bank made a restructure where more staff were realigned and all staff within the grades of AM to Manager in Services were moved to Marketing which was okay. However, along the line the Staff in these grade were eventually displaced. This was where all the middle management staff unfortunate sojourn started. Management in their confusion named us Special Retail Team (SRT). We were huddled into a department as it were to internalise marketing skills. It wasn't up to three months they changed our name/department to Special Recovery Team (SRT). Our job was to dig out all written off accounts, meet with the customers and recover the funds. Against all odds of economic recession, inability to locate the customers for various reasons including deaths and possible relocation we took up the challenge. We made huge recoveries. For instances in my BDO we were able to recover in less than a year above N500 Million Naira. The figures are there for verification. Same could be said of most BDOs. But the imbeded hate and desire to do away with these crop of middle management AMs, DMs and Manager Grade had beclouded management's good sense of judgment. For the past 3 years they eventually promoted staff and surreptitiously nailed us with Termination Letters where of course we never committed any offence let a lone fraud crime. My team was never issued any performance query neither had we faced any DC since we found ourselves in SRT. They now handed a sanction on us without any offence or crime. The painful and unjust aspect is that management has killed our careers by the term Termination instead of Retirement or Disengagement. This is because no new employer or any other place of endeavour will take a terminated staff as a man of integrity and achiever. The choice of Termination Term is for management to evade the payment of severance package as stipulated in our hand book. Management should be asked our offence and get it substantiated. How can everyone in all SRT department bankwide be non performers. This act is a cumulative of what lower staff members have been suffering silently without a voice since 4 years running whilst the top management favour themselves with mouth watering packages as they ease off. Our prayer is that the Termination Letters should be commuted to Disengagement or Retirement and the attendant package speedily paid to us in full. We sincerely hope and appeal that well meaning Nigerians should heed our cry and come to our rescue so as to stop this obnoxious policy in First Bank and save those staff who are still in the employment of the bank in future. Chief executive officer at Self-employed

FIRST BANK ENGAGES IN UNFAIR LABOUR PRACTICE, TERMINATES APPOINTMENTS OF ABOUT 300 STAFF WITHOUT PAY.

While the MD/CEO of first Bank is blowing his trumpet for promoting 3000 staff, he was deliberately silent on the fact that, this is the first promotion exercise in the Bank for the past three years.

He is also provocatively silent on the over 300 other staff he has sent out of the Bank by terminating their appointments in one swoop, with payment of only one month salary in lieu of notice. Both letters of promotion and the sack letters were released simultaneously and so one wonders why the MD/CEO chosed to blow a loud trumpet on one and left out the other.

We gave the Bank our youthful age and strength, serving for periods spanning between 10 to 33 years only for us to be served with a LETTERS OF TERMINATION on Monday 14th August, 2017 on the ground that OUR SERVICES ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED. The letter went further to state that we will be paid my salary up to the date of the letter (11/8/2017) and one month basic salary in lieu of notice. What a callous management? As if that is not enough, the letter states further that we will be advised of our respective indebtedness to the Bank for us to pay.

We understand this includes the rent arrears that was given to us in January, which we paid to our landlords. We don't know if they actually expects us to go and ask the landlords to return it for us to return to them.

The management is also practicing discriminatory policies. Recently, some management staff who were laidoff were paid one year entitlements while the middle management is being laid off without pay.

What an unfair labour practice. This is modern day slavery and we will resist it with the last drop of our blood."

Congratulations to those who got their promotions. Unfortunately however, the MD was deliberately silent on the fact that, this is the first promotion exercise in the Bank for the past three years.

He is also provocatively silent on the over 286 other staff he has sent out of the Bank by terminating their appointments in one swoop, with payment of only one month salary in lieu of notice. Both letters of promotion and the sack letters were released simultaneously and so one wonders why the MD/CEO chosed to blow a loud trumpet on one and left out the other.

I gave the Bank my youthful age and strength, serving for 18 years only for me to be served with a LETTER OF TERMINATION on Monday 14th August, 2017 on the ground that MY SERVICES ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED. The letter went further to state that I will be paid my salary up to the date of the letter (11/8/2017) and one month basic salary in lieu of notice. What a callous management? I am not sure if they really carried the legal dept where I spent over 12 years in their decision. If they did, then they would have known that they are jokers.

As I resume in private practice next week, I am waiting for them. I wish you would publish this comment

Fraudulent and dastardly acts of First Bank management staff on display. One would have expect them to make the disengagement of about 300 staff without benefits that have served the bank over years ranging from 10 - 30 years the sensational news. Kindly see some of the staff responses on the publication of this same news on ThisDay publication online

First bank.. Best place to work in indeed....
With so many pple not promoted for 6,7,8,9 years on one grade.. Meanwhile some few others get promotion on yearly basis... And those they refused to promote, instead of leaving them to do their work, they will sack them without wanting to pay a dime..... It's indeed d best place to work in!!!!!!
If Dt is how to b d best place to work then it is indeed shameful for ds country.

Welcome team, it is highly disappointed that this management of First bank can be treating their staff as if they are animals, after 32 years serving them, I was only given LETTER OF TERMINATION as if i stole money or a criminal, this is highly unacceptable. How do they want the bank to grow well, when all their past staff are always in bitterness for their attitude. We should not be silent. No word of thank you or encouragement at all after putting in years of serving them with total dedication and commitment, this is the type if letter they are serving, God will judge them because I feel very upset. This is incredible. May God see us through.

This is absolutely fraudulent. The management has not promoted for the past two years, only for them to promote now first time in the history of the bank saying that the promotion is effective September 2017. At the same time terminating the appointment of about 300 staff indiscriminately without benefits, which is against the labour law. As we speak the staff union has taken this up with them and proposal submitted for them to do the right thing in terms of rules of disengagement.

Politics / Obasanjo Allegedly Speaks About Buhari`s Certificate Issue by phronesis(m): 2:55pm On Jan 22, 2015
I have always said Obj is a CIA.......See what baba have to say this tim. GBAM!

Below is what the former president allegedly said.

The truth of the matter is that Jonathan is aware that Buhari is qualified to contest for President Election but some hawks with Jonathan, do not want him to contest Because they believed that he will win and come for them.

The issue came up in 2007, and we investigated and found out that his WASEC is with the military and that was why he was allowed to contest in 2007.

Buhari cannot listen to anyone about his certificates because as a General of Nigeria Army,he will speak when he chooses, not by Femi Fani Kayode and Okupe asking him.

Fayose and other corrupt People including Kashamu do not want Buhari because of his anti-corruption slogan. Even Jonathan did not finish his PhD course but when it was presented we stated that, it does not matter but many people do not know because it was PDP thing.

I see Buhari as the next President and Jonathan is aware of that, and that is the reason they are hitting him everywhere to put confusion in his camp. But a General is always a General….

Religion / Re: Pentecostalism And Christianity by phronesis(m): 12:38pm On Feb 28, 2007
Hi backslider (ur name speaks volume abt u). Yeah the day of pentecost was ok and I am fully persuaded about the person of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost itself was a feast of the Jews even until this day, pentecost really means 50-50 (do u know abt that?) further more if u study ur scripture as you should, u will see that those that were celebrating the pentecost on that they did not recieve the Holy Spirit, they were outside while the disciples that recieved the Holy Spirit were in d upper room. Get this right my line of discussion is that of trying to teach the church of Christ that the pentecostal christians are those that are filled with the Holy Spirit and tongue talking. Between you and I, for example if Jesus enters a village on a day they were celebrating "sango day" and some people decide to give their lives to Him and follow Him, does that make them "sango day" christians? (just an analogy!) So how come we have Christian saying they are pentecostal Christians even forming association like Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria(PFN), imagine PFN do not even have Christianity in their name, just pentecostal fellowship! We need to change all these and live the live of a true superman that Christ has made us!
Religion / Pentecostalism And Christianity by phronesis(m): 12:15pm On Feb 21, 2007
is there really anything like pentecostal christians? what has pentecostalism gat to do with christianity? i have search the bible and find out that there is nothing like pentecostal christians. so why do we have pentecostal christians of nigeria (pfn)!
