[quote author=ciyonna post=74277071]My poe story, Atlanta I used Delta airlines onthe 15th of December,Lagos to Atlanta. We got into Atlanta around 5.15am and had to wait about 15 minutes for the cbp officials to resume. Since it was a direct flight from Nigeria,i went to pee first so that some people would go first. When i came out the line had diversified with people from all over. I watched two Nigerians get called for secondary, chai i started calling on God to have mercy. Then it was my turn. Cbp: goodmorning. I replied him what are you here for? Me: Vacation, then I gave a little pause and added and chidbirth. He then asked how long I intend to stay, i said 3and half months. He said why that long? I said I wanted to come while i was still fit to fly. He looked at me and said why here? I said i had medical issues with this pregnancy thats why i came and also the citizenship it offers my baby. It was a black cbp official. cbp official: Have you made any payments to the hospital? Me:No,will make some deposit when i get in and my husband is coming 2 weeks before my due date. cbp :when are you due? Me: told him cbp: How much do you have with you? Me: 4k dollars cbp:Final destination? Me: Chicago. cbp: enjoy your stay and stamped me in for six months. It can only be God. Picked my luggage and made my way to my connecting flight. No bag search,no request for documents. It was my second time in the US and my visa expires in January. Thanks to people who posted their experiences. Thank God and safe delivery in Jesus name Amen |

adluv IN THE SPIRIT OF GIVING BACK (MY TESTIMONY ON MISSIONARY JOURNEY PT 1) Dollar Hustle: it wasn't easy at all but to God be d glory I got PTA from first Bank loaded into my Visa gold card, I also did western union, opened access bank acc got their visa card, I hv my UBA n GTB master cards. Flight Hustle: that one almost discouraged me totally, after searching for a cheap flight to Atlanta like forever, I finally got Turkish though I never used it bf but had no choice since it was the cheapest. I was suppose to travel on the 8th of Jan but the ticket got messed up and Turkish cancelled that flight so I booked another one for 14th Jan "see gap ooooo and belle Don drop like kilode" POE: finally I left abj on the 14th at about 3am, got to Istanbul like past 10am same 14th, used my VIP card enter lounge "see food for free chaiiiii" then we took off again around 3pm straight to Atlanta, flight was good though it wasn't funny seating for 12hrs at 36weeks. Zooommmm we got to ATL at night same 14th, I used the machine n printed out my receipt, I was the only pregnant woman ooo with my big belle, immidiatly the security took me straight to the front make i for no too stand for queue. CBP : hello passport ME: hi gave him CBP: I see u were here last Feb 2016, how long did u spend? ME: 3weeks then port to Canada n came in again for another 3weeks. CBP: So how long do u want to spend on this trip? ME: 8weeks cos am here to give BIRTH CBP: Oh really! Hv u made arrangements wit doc n hospital and how much do u hv? ME: absolutely I hv $.. all in card. CBP: OK I will send u to my colleague to confirm ur money CBP2: which hospital are u using? Have u made any payment yet and how much is it gona cost in all? ME: I told him everything as for payment not yet until after my first aptmt. CBP2: Do u know what u are expecting?, is this your first baby and why do u want to give birth to this baby in US instead of ur country? ME: yes baby bla bla, no its my third but first in US the other two wasn't a too good experience so I want a better health care this time. CBP2: OK am sorry I don't mean to keep u for long but I will send u to a room where u will relax, use the restroom n wait for my colleague to verify ur money. ME: OK no wahala "na so I enter secondary inspection" I went in straight to the restroom jare cos I was even pressed, nah so I piss finish just declared a word of prayer, came out and sat magestically with plenty other people though not pregnant. After few min I was called. CBP3: how much do u hv, and why do u want to give birth here? ME: I gave same answer and he said "don't tell me it's cos of better health care that's Nigerians normal saying so just tell me d truth" I started laughing and he said "u are good to go and hv a nice stay, I wish u all the best" Na so I happy cos he didn't even ask to see anything just two questions n I ran away ooooo, waited for my luggage's nothing was searched and everything scaled through including palm canel oil. Am relaxing while waiting for my doc appointment and LO to arrive fast. To God alone be the glory, tanks to everyone on this platform cos u all inspired me and took away fear from me cos my heart did not panic all along because I was over prepared for them. God bless u all Congrats dear on your POE experience, wishing you safe delivery and all. |
TripleKMama: TKM Snr & Jnr Update: End of Missionary journey. Hi everyone. I've looked forward to writing Dis for long but time wont just let me. Truly, everything changes when baby shows. I arrived Abuja on d morning of Jan 12 to the glory of God. I salute baba God for victory. Nobody else to take dis glory! He deserves my praise o! In dis journey, I was duped of N2m on my birthday in december and also had a near-fatal car crash (car is a write off!) but TKM snr & Jnr are all alive and well. no scratch! I'll share my trip summary, delivery story and tips for anyone to learn cos I learnt a lot! I'll occasionally modify d post to add anytin I rmbr but PM directly for details if necessary. DELIVERY I initially planned using st peters NJ as a relative was to take my delivery (totally waived ObGyn fees for me) but on arrival, I discovered more hidden fees at st peters so I started considering my plan B seriously. Apart from Vag delivery of $8000 and CSS $12,000, oda Fees included extra day for mum $1800 and extra day for baby $1300. I couldn't do dat so I decided to opt out. Eventually did St Mary's (thanks to Funtolash for all d tips & details). Vag delivery $4000 and CS $5000. My delivery breakdown. Dr Fares $2000 Pediatrician (Dr Zamani) thru Dr Fares office $750 inclusive of all baby's hosp assessment. Hosp fee for CS $5000 inclusive of hosp tests. Anesthesia $1000 (sent to u by post after discharge) SSN applied for at d hosp along wit Birth Cert. Birth Cert ready & collected at town hall 4 days after discharge (I applied monday & collected Friday). SSN arrived 3wks after birth. In between, I commenced applyin for USA passport by post. Paid $160 for expedited (came in post after 9days). Was told expedited was 2-3wks but regular application 6weeks. Since it will enter Xmas period, I did expedited. Adding USPS speed post, passport foto fee of $15, everythin came up to around $220. It was well worth it cos it took d stress of carryin baby to NY off me. Not too mention logistics. Did visa on arrival (thanks to Desoul). I was supposed to obtain d visa at Abuja airport but nobody asked me and I was too exhausted. To do ajayi for dat one. Na how TKM snr save $200 dat day o (as I already paid $200 for extra lugGage at JFK) so dat was a consolation for me. Talking abt excess luggage, I was fortunate to meet considerate staff at d airport. I inevitably checked in 9 items. Don't know how dey charged me for only 1. No be God? Plus stroller, car seat and base. Triple Congrats for you TKM for all you went through, God will give to you back in many folds what you lost in Jesus name, Amen. |
Urbanbeauty To God be all the glory, we had my baby on the 23rd of December at Oakbend medical center with Dr E. The service was exceptional and nurses were very friendly. We got all her documents ( birth certificate, blue passport, social securiy no and emergency travel certifcate) all in one week this January. My host was very nice and sweet and was very helpful. My profound gratitude goes to every kind contributor on this platform, the words of advice were invaluable. May God bless us all. Congrats dear! |
Congrats to all the latest mamas and LOs, still following and goodluck to the future mamalettes. May we all be granted with our heart desires in this new month. |
TripleKMama:Congrats TKM |
justwise:Thank you @justwise, as he said it's not free, paid close to 200k Naira for health charge, wanted to stay back because I had morning sickness for weeks/month's which led to me not being able to submit, wanted to stay to finish it all instead of going and coming back again. Although, the school an option of pass but could still obtain my merit if I can submit and get a good grade. The point of applying for an extension was to avoid the hassle of travelling because when I submit, will still have to come back for my graduation which is around my delivery period and might not be convenient. Please, best in mind some of us take hold step to seek for advice and help from forum just to know better but with your judgemental response @worry356, you make other keep quiet and not be able to express themselves cause of response like yours. Thanks for response anyway. |
LadyGuinivere:Thank you for the reply, will take to your suggestions. |
worry359:Thanks but your comment was rather harsh, it's not a resit per day but couldn't submit my dissertation which I can still submit before my visa expires. Anyway thanks for your contribution. |
LadyGuinivere:Thanks for your response. The pregnancy wasn't planned. Already booked my return ticket back home, just needed someone to give a guide. |
Good day all, please I need help some questions. I have been refused a US visa twice first reason was no social tie which I applied back in Nigeria, second refusal in the UK back in May was going for a conference and my visa is to expire Jan 2017, so they felt there is no strong tie. For the first refusal I wrote I was single, second single again since there was nothing like engaged in the option. Now I am 15weeks pregnant and intend to apply again. My question is this, I wanted to remain in the UK and claim not fit to travel when my visa expires in January and apply for the visa to US while here cause I'm not if I will get a student extension visa or should I remember back to Nigeria and re-apply from Nigeria. Although I get all treatment and all free because I'm on NHS and a student who has a resit. The school States I can only reapply for a new student visitor visa from my home country when my visa expires in January. Please need you people's advice biko. Thanks |
4wks early. To God be all glory! We're doing well. Details later.
