@crazyhorse Dear Brother, your dilemma is what most guys out here go through. No one wants to go back and be nobody eventually. Nigeria is like an ocean if you dont live there. You just do not know where to start. It happened to me but like somebody said, what I did was make a research establish a business and follow it up with constant visits. There are a lot of business that are hot in Nigeria but the truth is, you wont be able to make a big turn over in any line of business in Nigeria unless you have somebody on ground, unless they know you and unless you know what's what. With the money you have , you can be an importer and more than tripple your money in one year. So, leave your money in bank, find out the business you like to do, go into that line, find a distributor or distributors, get the samples that are going well, come to China. If this goes down well with you I can give you two or three lines of business you can look into but then, its something you have to do by yourself. You need to be involved. I believe in doing it myself. And, dont be in a hurry unless if you are no longer working and you are spending from the reserve you have. Furthermore, I will suggest that anything you are going into, start with 30% of your worth, and leave the other 70% as a fall back. Somebody said earlier that if you have a family, that will factor into your consideration. I say yes to that. If you have a trusted member of your family that can be on ground for you, its always easier. |
@Adeytesodu: What is the voltage(V) and ampere of the one you used before. I have IBM laptop Adapter. You can send me an e-mail and get it from my place in Ikeja computer village. |
Hi Guys, well Ihave read the comments here. I would say, buy from me. Buy from my company. IF we give you warranty, we stand by it and we change it you have problem with it. The factories that make products for me accept their products when it doesn't work. All dealers are not cheaters or liars. Buy from me. I am in Abuja , Ikeja computer village as well as Lagos Island. You can check my contact here. Tell me what you need. If I have it I tell you if I dont have it, I help you get it or Itell you I dont have it. |
@madeonline, thanks for your useful contributions on this forum. I would like to get the CSCs number as well. I am interested in buying shares as secondary offers. I sure will use your advise. |
@danielng, you wrote well. I am sorry to hear about your predicament and what you have been through. Yeah, there are banned goods, but still those goods go into Naija all the time, its just about knowing how you go about your importation and the kind of agent you have. Furthermore, if you read the original thread well, you will understand that this write is new to importation. There are so many goods that are non contraban, they sell well in naija and there is more money in them than most contrabans. There are some of them that are duty free or almost duty free. You will be surprised that you ebd up spending less than 250000 in clearing a 20ft container. So, I still suggest that it is good to stay clear from contraban goods if you are a new comer into the field. My opinion still. |

@ toyealiyu, which department do you work at in Zenithbank? |
@adetoye, which department do you work at in ZenithBank? |
@ Evept, Sending through the Airport doesnt work for now. Again, it depends on what kind of clothes you are sending to Naija. If its jeans and other stuff like that, you send by sea to cotonou and cross them to lagos. There are people who handle that. Right now, contraband is a no no for Lagos except if you send by what is called excess kilo. That one still works and its faster. |
Your first idead about iceblock making machine is a good one. The point is , given the epileptic nature of Nigerian power system, ice block seems to be the easiest way to keep water and drinks cool in most cities. You ,cost is way reduced, you just need water, a power source and thats all. It kinda mean something tome because today I was checking out some of these machines here in china( the 102nd chinese commodity fair is on now). If you cant get the iceblock making machines now, get some deep freezers and do it the local way till you raise enoughmoney to get it. It might look simple but once people know you are there, you will marvel at what you will be making on daily basis. I started it for my aunt in Feb. Now she wants an iceblock making machine. Digest this for now, I will give you further ideas on some practical things you can do with that money. Other members here are also contributing useful advise as well. |
@Globalaid. Man I like your policy . Do it on a cash and carry basis. I have followed this thread. Some of the guys here seem to be men of integrity. Business can survive when there is mutual trust. I am also in Guangzhou ,China and got business in computer accessories . I have branches in Lagos and Abuja. I will be in Naija after the current trade fair. may be we can get together if you are in lagos in November. |
@ TEMMIE10 I have some cash to set aside short term for stock, which stock do you think I can get that will be some what encouraging as a first time trade in the secondary term. I need your advice pls. |
I go out with my close friends all the time I dont see anything wrong with going out with your close friend/s unless you have something else in mind. As long as it's for fun, dinner or play. You may ruin the relationship though if you lack prudence. If you are interested in her(in most cases) or him, then know what you want and go for it. |
Hi, I recently decided to get into the stock business- Both short and long term. I have got some 100,000 naira to put down on long term, and perhaps something little to put in the short term. Can anyone give me some useful information on which stock to look out for. If the short term is good,I could do more and go with the flow. Help Pls! |
