Family › Re: Being A Woman In Nigeria Is Hard Says A Nigerian Man On Facebook by Pidggin(f): 11:16pm On Nov 09, 2015 |
coogar: that's tied to their religion, you ignoramus!
letting a girl child marry a much older man is a standard practise in the islamic world. from damaturu to tehran to riyadh.....that's the way it works there.
actually, the women in these sharia states think it's a honourable thing and plenty of them are educated.....perhaps more educated than you are and they have chosen that path of life. Yeah I bet they have their Masters Why do you have to insult people to drive home your baseless point? Early marriage is not solely based on religion it can also be based on societal culture, poverty, or perceived value of an individual based on gender. We all know that rich men in the North do not give out their underaged daughters in marriage, this is mostly practiced amongst the poor and uneducated. It so easy for you to post jargons without proof "plenty of them are educated" indeed. |

For all those saying there is nothing preventing any Nigerian female from succeeding, it is easy for you to speak from your privileged position but if you ask a hapless twelve-year-old girl born into poverty somewhere in the north, denied education because she is female and forced to marry a man old enough to be her grandfather, she will weep as you speak these senseless words. Stop making noise when you don't know what it is like to experience gender-based discrimination. |

LadyFiona: Others are saying their minds, proffering a likely solution but you have to come in with your renowned bitterness to swing this thread into a pointless feminist debate. I am presuming, you will probably ask your wife for a repeat, with you acting as a cuckold husband offering handshakes to the other participants if you're the op.
Adultery is enough ground for divorce in Christian marriage but I wish sincerely that this psychosexual deviant husband of op will come to terms with his God given senses and turn a new leaf, and remember the sanctity of his marriage he is trying so hard to destroy. This is premeditated, if it has been murder, he will be kissing freedom goodbye.
Op, do what you gotta do. |

This is crazy, government should leave MTN alone, if only for the sake of the number of Nigerians on their payroll. The one trillion naira fine if they pay, will not benefit any ordinary Nigerian, as usual it will be embezzled and put in foreign accounts. |

Federal government job is good, but if you want to really grow in life, you should be open to taking risk and not just accepting things because of security. A contract job that allows you to have six months of free time is quite rare to come by. Yes, they can sack you at any time, but who says they would? Besides this, take a look at some Federal government retirees, they got so used to the security of their jobs that they did little for their own personal development and soon time passed them by. Remember the power of association? You will slowly start living a mediocre lifestyle because of the type of people within the civil service, Goodluck. |

chukwudi44: Alhassan was not elected Governor,Majority of Tarabians rejected her at the polls Okay, she may not have been elected but it has been proven that they were some discrepancies on the part of her opponent's candidacy e.g. primaries for governorship election was conducted in Abuja and not in Taraba state, this is against the party's constitution. I am pro PDP any day, but I also think it is about time a woman becomes a state governor too. I still hope she will change her party though |

Some have given good advice on here, the man seems like a nice man. I don't see the reason why one should allow a guest in when he/she does not have enough space to accommodate them. Tell your friend to buy another mattress and he should ask his wife to share his bed even if it means both of them relocating to the parlour. |

Ceeesaw: And also the double standards thing annoys me the most about modern day feminism. If a man slaps a women everybody will condemn him some other men will even rush in her defence. But when a woman slaps a man he is expected to take it like a man. That just shows that we have accepted that women are weaker and need protection. The same woman tomorrow will be chanting equality. Nothing like double standard. |
