chilowosim: hie friends, I have purchased Fortecstar FSHD4700 BUT it does not have patched software,so am looking for a link for the NEW SW FSHD4700 DATE 26/9/2012 which can ope SABC

I have that software and the website from which I downloaded it is down...what can we do?

Use Winzip or Winrar or if you are using Windows operating system just right click on it and choose 'Exract All' and you are done.

calis2: pls brothers.I want 2 download software for my srt4930L,but all the software for srt4930L i saw were not zipped file but rar files...pls can I go for the rar file..i just want 2 know if rar file is all good for upgrades.

Rar is a file compressed used Winrar just like zip file is compressed by Winzip. What matters is the content inside the compressed file and not the method of compressing because you will need to uncompress the file before loading

Nigerian TV might not show Africa Cup of Nations live

The Africa Cup of Nations football tournament might not be shown live on Nigerian TV following a stalemate over payment for the broadcasting rights.

The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) said its members might not broadcast live matches of the tournament, which is due to kick off in South Africa on 19 January.

The chairman of BON, Abubakar Jijiwa, said the broadcast right holders CCFOOT and CC2 had set a price of N16.3 billion (€8 million) for Nigerian broadcasters to show the matches, which the broadcasting body had rejected.

"There is a need for BON to inform Nigerians on efforts made so far to secure the broadcast rights for the competition and to say that the situation is not encouraging at all," he said.

“We believe this is the time for the government of Nigeria to intervene on behalf of the people of Nigeria, especially since the Africa Cup of Nations is only a few days away. It is insulting that a foreign company will exploit Nigeria and Nigerians. It is the right of Nigerians to watch the Cup of Nations, more so when Nigeria is participating."

The Africa Cup of Nations will take place in South Africa from 19 January to 10 February. Nigeria’s Super Eagles, one of the 16 participating teams, have been drawn in Group C alongside defending champions Zambia, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia.

The hugely popular tournament will be broadcast around the world and will feature star players including Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, Gervinho and Emmanuel Adebayore.

versace400: Pls,i've changed OTA settings on my 4669z and downgrade the software so many times but the automatic dowload and upgrading keep coming from MYTV. It has stopped me now from accessing my cccam because immediately i restore back to the formal software and it restarts, the automatic upgrading begins again. Pls someone should help fast. I cant even watch game now.

Lets see what happens bro. I am also very surprised. Somebody brought his SRT 4669XII saying he cant watch SABC channels. Upon inspection I found out that 6969 was not working. Checking the software version I discovered it's 2013 version and I knew this must be the dreaded OTA upgrade. I reinstalled the 'safe' previous version and disabled the OTA upgrade option (I changed the frequency and symbol rate to a non-existent one and also the sat name). To my surprise what the receiver did first in the morning was to start a fresh OTA upgrade!!

Check to see if their is an ''option'' sub menu under the installations option.

I totally agree with you bro. We are moving in circles, why? We are answering the same question 5 or more times. People don't endeavour to read what others have posted previously. I dont see how they will learn without reading what other people have already posted. If they want to move from being a newbie to somebody else they should treat this forum as their source of knowledge. it has been said a million times that READ FIRST before asking.

it takes a few minutes. If your receiver can 'see' your memory card in that modem you can use it to upgrade it.

My reason being dat, dat exactly might have been the intention of all former winners until inadvertantly, the person will stop posting althogether.
Ur winning the coverted position twice, thrice in a row wouldn't be a bad idea. If u keep firing from all cylinder's, dat doesnt stop us all from giving our all. Rather it potends well for this FTA forum. Ensuring dat any newbie dat finds his/her way here is sure of a solution/answer from not one guru now, but many. .

I see your reasoning and respect you my Oga but after cruising at 100km/hr for the whole year I feel slowing down to 60-75km/hr or so for the engines to cool and enjoy the scenery isn't a bad idea. What other winners did was to change from 100km/hr to 0.3km/hr or even went into reverse gear but I will not do so. With this planned 60-75km/hr surely other 'drivers' doing 80km/hr and above will overtake me but I promise to reach the destination as Oga George_D has done all this time. I will help make this great forum live to its reputation. I have made lots of friends (let's hope no enemies ) in this forum and I just can't abandon ALL the good members here and all the newbies.

Unfortunately the schedule for 5 Jan on their website is not showing that they will beam the games. Lets just wait and see, there could be changes, there is still time.
