@All A lot of satellite enthusiasts find trouble knowing where to point their dish. For example, people will ask questions like: 'Where do I point my dish, I want to get Astra 2f where there is MultiTV. I am in Lagos. Please help.' There is an old tool that can greatly help you wherever you may be located, it's called the Satellite Finder/ Dish Allignment Calculator with Google Maps. Just make sure you have internet access then load the page. Enter your area (nearest City would be better than entering the name of your village!) and start to navigate to your area. If you are lucky even your house will appear. Then enter the satellite you want and it will show you where it should point and other details. You can use it here: http://www.dishpointer.com/ |
kibukila: Hi pidzo, may I have your email i want to send you some questions.Sorry bro, I have just seen this post. Get me on pidzo@objectmail.com and this email link will be valid for only 3 days. |

New Anti-Piracy Alliance launched The Audiovisual Anti-Piracy Alliance was launched in Paris on December 17 building upon the work of its predecessor AEPOC. AAPA represents the major players in the pay TV industry, including the largest technology security vendors. The Alliance’s mission is to support the fight against piracy where this involves the development, promotion, distribution, application or use of technologies resulting in the unauthorised use of protected audiovisual content. AAPA’s role is to facilitate the co-ordination of intelligence and anti-piracy activities amongst its members and to interact with EU institutions to ensure that there is effective legislation to achieve successful enforcement action. Commenting on the launch of AAPA, VP Christine Maury-Panis, general counsel at Viaccess, said that: “Piracy never goes away. As new technologies emerge and new ways of distributing audiovisual content become more popular, it is crucial that we have all the possible tools to work with collaboratively against the persistent threat of piracy, which causes enormous damage to jobs in the creative and other sectors. AAPA provides an efficient industry alliance which is able to support the fight against piracy of paid content delivered via the set top box, mobile phone, tablet, etc.” Launching AAPA at the HbbTV Symposium in Paris, Sheila Cassells, AAPA executive director, commented that: “At IBC two years ago we started a discussion about the security issues surrounding connected TV. Since then AAPA members have been active in developing security for smart TVs, etc and making OTT content available. We need to ensure that all stakeholders recognise the importance of implementing and maintaining content security robustly and this Symposium provides an opportunity to continue to reinforce this message.” Current AAPA members are BSkyB, Conax, Eutelsat, INSIDE Secure, Irdeto, Liberty Global, Melita, Nagra, NDS, Nova, Open Tech, Pace, Sky Deutschland, Sky Italia, Verimatrix, Viaccess, Ziggo, Zon. olenyi: Just got it.Thank you. You and Pidzo are just the men.Very welcome my bro. Happy that you are getting it loud and clear. Let's see what happens during the period you say it's scrambled. So, is everything on this channel the same as 'Jesus is Lord'? |
Mavella: @pidzo i have same problem but me i upgrade via usb please what to do now.As stated above, what's the authenticity of your receiver? Is it original or fake? I find the process of resuscitating an original receiver easier, you do a PC to Receiver upgrade. But what about a dead receiver? If you are lucky, a receiver to receiver upgrade will wake it up using RS232 cable (crossed). If it's fake, make sure you use another fake receiver to revive the dead one. ![]() |
okoegualek: Can I get d size of my dish from d radius of the dish,I av a big off which I don't know d size, whether 1.8m,2m,3m etcYes bro, just get the radius and it will give you it's size. This will depend on the shape of your dish as other dishes are a perfect circle (like the prime focus dishes) while others are oblong shaped (like some offset dishes). If it's oblong the two different radii will just be a guide as to which group your dish belongs. You can post here the result of your radius measurement for confirmation ![]() |
okoegualek: Gud moni house, can any 1 confirm to me if MYTV channels are still working till now,cos my broda jst called me to inform me dat he is no longer getting dem,and I travelled out.Jst wanna know if it is RE-ALLIGNMENT dat my diSh needS.TanksMYTV is working 100%. You need to check your dish setup ![]() |

mntangi: Hi Gurus,Is your receiver original or FAKE? We have said it a million times that don't upgrade receivers for the sake of upgrading. Updating a fake receiver with original software will kill your receiver. First of all check the authenticity of your receiver. If it's original it's easy to resuscitate. |
Saipro: I've used the other Strong receivers with no issue. I'm considering biting the bullet & moving one step beyond. I've read a lot of whitepapers but that's all they are - print. I want advise from guys who've tested either (or both) in the real world. Which would you recommend, 4922 or 4930 (with reasons)? Cleanman: i also just got myself a 4922hd and its been amazing function-wise,etc.tho i dnt knw abt the other.Like Cleanman I have knowledge only for 4930 and I don't know much about 4922. But my experience with this 4930 has shown that it's really a good machine. The frequent software upgrade releases makes it a better option too. Since most people are using it you would easily get assistance too if you get in trouble with it. Just my opinion though. ![]() |

yakobin: I have a Strong receiver model SRT 4622 XII (PVR new black face) that I bought from a friend who wasYour question doesn't have a YES or NO answer. It's rather complicated but read this answer below by Satmaniac to somebody in a similar dilemma. I have just copied it from another thread. satmaniac: In addition to what oga pidzo has said I will lyk to add that, when upgrdading ur reciever there re many technical issues u need to consider. |
ucheo: Pls house what does this decoder upgrade means..like am using strong 669x.. if i want to receieve stations that transmit in HD..do I have to download a patch for srt 4922 and download it and install in my decoder. pls I will appreciate a good lecture on this. You only upgrade with patch that is compatible with your receiver. Updating your receiver with software meant for another model will 'kill' your receiver (although it rejects the incompatible software most of the times). Updating your 4669x with 4922 or 4930 software will not make your receiver become HD. In the first place your receiver will most likely reject the software (among other things because of memory disparities). HD is HD because of both software and hardware aspects. So if you want to watch HD channels then buy an HD receiver. |
