Not questionable bro, but as of now it has bugs as it is in it's 'infant stage'. Some of the bugs are being rectified with the frequent software releases but others are still there. It's a good product, look at the fact that it has direct WI-FI (USB Dongle) support. So I wouldn't say it's questionable.

This 4930L seems to have its teething problems. It looks like it has lots of problems as regards the software releases (there are lots of bugs). But it promises to be a good product once these glitches are ironed out. Software versions previously released are again uploaded for download (I dont know if changes are made to these repeated uploads ). Apparently not many people interested in 'software reviews' have this good product (or they choose to be discreet ). If I get a review I will communicate this to you via the other option.

I need tutorials to get my channels back. I am using 3LNB's and two 90cm dishes.

I will be glad if some one like Gatador can be of help. I need to see MBC and some other free football channels. I never miss a month without suscription but I think I can get more lucky with the help of you guys.

Just change your audio options to either left channel or right channel and you are done.

Convergence Partners exits Africa satellite venture

A consortium led by Convergence Partners, formed by businessman Andile Ngcaba, has sold its 25.1% stake in satellite joint venture New Dawn to Intelsat South Africa for an undisclosed amount, it said on Wednesday.

Intelsat, Convergence Partners and Altirah Telecoms formed the $250m New Dawn in 2008 to provide satellite communications services to Africa.

The satellite was launched last year and commercial services started in June this year.

Mr Ngcaba, who is also chairman of Convergence Partners, said the New Dawn partnership was created to enable the parties to achieve specific objectives.

"The technical anomaly that resulted in the nondeployment of one of the satellite s reflectors precluded us from fully realising our broader objectives," he said.

"The venture was a landmark deal for Africa and fundamentally changed the way Africans participate in this critical sector and, as such, remains something we are very proud of."

Intelsat New Dawn s main objective is to deliver telephony, broadband internet access and media content to much of Africa. It also aims to address the capacity backlog faced by providers of wireless telecommunications, broadband services, corporate network services and pay-TV providers.

SES’ ASTRA 2f satellite starts operations

SES S.A. announced Friday that the ASTRA 2F satellite has successfully completed its in-orbit testing and is now fully operational and in commercial service at the orbital neighborhood of 28.2/28.5 degrees East. The 52nd SES satellite was successfully launched board an Ariane 5 rocket from Kourou, French Guiana, on September 28, 2012.

ASTRA 2F was built by Astrium in Toulouse using a Eurostar E3000 platform. The multi-mission satellite carries Ku-band and Ka-band payloads for the delivery of high-performance Direct-to-Home (DTH) and next generation broadband services in Europe and Africa. Of the spacecraft's payload, 48 Ku-band transponders cover Europe and 12 Ku-band transponders are dedicated to sub-Saharan Africa, while 3 Ka-band transponders will allow SES Broadband Services to support download speeds of up to 20 Mbps.

ASTRA 2F is part of a larger fleet replacement and expansion programme at the 28.2/28.5 degrees East neighborhood, consisting of ASTRA 2E, 2F and 2G, that provides replacement and growth capacity for the UK and Ireland as well as for other services in and outside of Europe. ASTRA 2E and ASTRA 2G, also under construction with Astrium, are scheduled for launch in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
