How much is Hyundai Elantra 2.0 2007 engine and gear box? I am presently considering it with Honda Civic 2007-2008 and Honda City 2007-2008. I have read that Civic has a very low ground clearance. If this is true then can it raised and how? I also read that City has a fragile CVT transmission. Is it as notorious as Nissan CVTs? If t |
Hello guys, I need help. I am looking for a good Nigerian used car to buy for everyday use. The car will be used to n fro office weekdays and taxify for weekends/public holidays. Consequently, i am concerned about low fuel consumption, cheap and readily available parts, very good AC system and enough room for 3 people at the back. After my research, I have come up with the following, all Auto transmission: 1. Honda Civic 2007-2008 (US Model) 2. Honda City (the model with normal auto transmission) 3. Hyundai Elantra 2007-2010(US Model) I did not include Toyota Corolla because of the theft and harm to drivers. A taxify driver told me a couple of Corolla drivers were killed last year and their cars snatched. Toyota Matrix would have being there but I don't know if hatchback cars are acceptable for uber/taxify. Thanks Cc @Gazzuzz @HavenlyBang @Kingreign @9icetoo @nurey Other gurus here |
Hello house. I want to buy Hyundai Elentra 2007 Auto (Nigerian used) for personal and part time uber business. Are the parts cheap when compared to say Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla of same year? How much is the tokumbo engine? I will really appreciate your inputs please. |
So a journey of about 287km took 15hrs. Its very sad. This problems of traffic jam at Niger bridge has been happening for years and FG did nothing. Travellers stranded, families going to celebrate with their loved ones trapped in traffic, horrible. Do you still wonder why people are agitating?? Some will pass the night on that traffic, yet FG looks the other way. What about the check points, there is no other road in this country that has as many check points as from Shagamu to Benin, almost every 1km with road blocks to allow only a vehicle pass at a time. Even highways in the Maiduguri, Yobe and Adamawa where insurgency is on the rise do not have this no of check points. Its frustrating and annoying. Is there war in the Southern part of the country?? Ore to Benin that should take about 1hr will take you almost 2hrs because of road blocks. Something is definitely wrong down South especially South East and South South. I will post more of my experiences yesterday, for now I need to rest after a very stressful journey Thanks everyone for your good wishes |
My Odometer reading:
|
I forgot to mention one of my headlamps failed. When it was dark, it became more challenging. Fortunately I had a spare so when I got to Nkpor, I bought some fuel(a lot of fuel wasted on that traffic), I replaced the headlight bulb and continued. Below is my Odometer reading:
|
I got home around 9:15pm yesterday. The traffic was crazy. Spent more than 4hrs just from where they are constructing a new flyover at Asaba to Niger Bridge, a distance of about 2 or 3km. I entered another traffic jam at Upper Iweka till Zik round about. After the round about, the road was free. It was very hectic. Lots of trucks and commercial buses, their drivers think private car drivers do not know how to drive so will always try to bully them. It was fun at times driving like you are high on something especially on that traffic jam.I left home 6am and got to the village 9:15pm(15hrs). My uncle who joined a public transport got home 12:30am this morning. Someone who is travelling to Lagos this morning told me that the traffic at Niger Bridge is still there. My candid advice for anyone travelling the Eastern route this period should try and leave as early as possible, make sure your headlamps are bright enough. If you are going by public transport then choose a known transport company in case you have to sleep over at their park. For people travelling to Akwa Ibom or Calabar, you can break the journey, which ever way, you will run into that heavy traffic at Niger Bridge. |
Traffic is on a stand still here, yet to climb the bridge. Its terrible |
It took me almost 2hrs from Ore to Benin because of check points and traffic build up. Army had to turn one way user back at some point |
There very heavy traffic at head bridge, Asaba starting from where they are building flyover at Asaba. I have being here for more than 2hrs yet I have not of to the bridge
|
Presently at Ore. Left almost 6am. Check point are many but I have just "spent" N100 so far at one check point. Many vehicles are taking one way to evade check points but I did not, its risky. But policemen in some checkpoints are cooperating by not delaying vehicles. |

I found a similar thread on Toyota forum. We are not alone in this poor lighting issue of Camry 1997-1999: https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/1997-camry-do-any-headlightbublbs-help.1291809/ |
temmym4:Thanks bro for that comprehensive input to this. Yes cleaning the headlamp would do very little to improve the lighting. Just like you said, it was a design flaw. On your suggestion of fixing extra light on the bumper, any idea of a type to fix? Picture will really help. However I feel if you fix it on the bumper it may not cover longer distance but I may be wrong. I saw someone that fixed Xeon lamps, it came with something i call booster (I don't know if that's the real name). When you put on the headlamp, it gradually gets brighter and brighter until it gets to its fullest. But it cost N15k or thereabout. I wouldn't know if the headlamp of 2000-2001 (droplight) can properly fit in to 1997-1999 (tiny light) without changing the bumper?? More suggestions will be welcomed |
Hello house. I have this Toyota Camry 1999. The headlamp is so poor that i hardly see at night with it. I have used other cars but this Camry is just not bright enough. I bought LED headlight but that didn't solve the problem. Again i ordered another bulb from Ali Express which is what i am using now. That one seem marginally better than the others but not good enough still. I cannot move at night with the car especially if the road is single lane. Please anyone with solution to headlamp issue of Toyota Camry 1997-1999 [aka Pencil] should please let me know here. If there is a particular type of bulb i need to buy because that headlights are clear enough, not like is dirty. Thanks for all your help |
Hello everyone. I need an urgent help. I have a 2003 Honda Civic auto. Recently, when you to turn the key to on position, the green key light will be flashing on the dashboard and it will NOT start even though the engine cranks. You will have to try starting the car like 5 or 6 times before the light will go off and the car will start. The next time it might start at once. So each time you want to start it, you will have to key turning the key to on position and off until you turn it on and the key light goes off the you can start the car. It could be 4, 5, 6 or more times. The rewire has changed the key switch but the problem is persisting. He is saying its the transponder. He got it changed according to him, he said he got a key that matched with the new transponder but the problem is persisting. He is now talking about changing the fuse box. Please I need urgent help before this guy complicates the problem for me. What exactly could be the problem? Once the car starts, it drives fine. Thanks for all the help |
dru23:Thank you very much. I already got Honda DW1 ATF but cannot afford the Mobil 1 engine oil. Someone suggested the Mobil Super 2000 semi synthetic oil (5w30) but that one is even difficult to find. There is also Mobil Super 3000 (5w40) synthetic though its pricier. What do u suggest please, I don't want to get it wrong. |
Structuralman:Its a Honda civic 2003. The engine is bad so I am replacing it with a tokumbo engine. |
Hello house, I need urgent help. Can I use Mobil XHP 2000 5w30 or Mobil XHP 3000 5w40? I was told that full synthetic oil may not be good for high mileage cars. How true is this? |
ping2ping:Plz help with this. My mechanic is saying I should use Dexron III (in a red container, 4 litres) for the gear and Total oil for the engine |
@luvinhubby please what's d recommended engine and gear oil for Honda civic 2003? Thank u very much |
