ayoslas88: Good morning
I submitted my application on the 24th of April...
My background check started almost immediately....
My question is, is it automatic for background check to start immediately or mine was just exception ....
I also received an email yesterday on status updated Yes it’s normal. Mine also started immediately, less than 24hrs after I applied. And I also received an email saying status updated. I’m guessing there’s a lot of background check to be done so they’re starting earlier to avoid delays. Who knows. But it’s perfectly normal. There’s someone else her too whose background check also started almost immediately after application. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All} |

Yes Polaris bank offer the MBS ticket, However, be adviced that you cant generate MBS TICKET with mobile app. You have to visit the branch you will be charged #1419
Let there be rain of PPR this new week. Yes you can generate MBS TICKET with mobile app, although I’m only aware of GTBANK mobile app. The charges if any will be deducted from the account. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for Us All} |

Rootiab: please how did u do it??. So I can go do mine on Monday Hello Rootiab, So sorry for the late response. There’re two ways to use Form A to make international tuition payment. Here’s what you should do. 1. If the bank you have an existing account is where the funds you want to pay your tuition fee is, just go there and request for Form A from them. Go along with: Degree Certificate (Original copy) Original International passport (they won’t accept photocopy) LOA - Letter of Acceptance from your sch School fees invoice/quote showing total amount to be paid School banking details: acc num, swift codes, branch code, sort code etc 2. But if you prefer a bank where you don’t have an existing account (for instance you bank with First bank but prefer Stanbic because their Form A payment is swift and fast) as long as you’re familiar with an account holder of that bank that’s also completely fine. Just transfer your funds to them. Next you go with the person to the bank and ask for Form A to pay international tuition. Under Acc to be debited An authorization to debit form will be signed by the person. THAT’S WHERE THEIR PARTICIPATION ENDS. Then you fill out the FORM A with your own personal details with regards to your school, as well as your school’s details. MAKE SURE YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS IS THE REFERENCE YOU’RE FILLING HERE AND NOT THAT OF THE ACCOUNT HOLDER. Because your personal details must correspond with the documents you’re submitting with the form, eg Your full name as it is on your passport, university certificate etc The authorization to debit form is for the bank, while the Form A itself is for CBN. The bank will submit the form A to CBN and they’ll do the processing. CBN charges a flat rate for the form A processing, (when I did mine last year it was about N3k thereabout). The bank is not allowed to charge any extra charges outside of the CBN processing fee, so monitor the account to be aware. As long as there’s availability of foreign currency by CBN, it usually take between 48-72hrs on average for the funds to be debited and get to your school. Once your school receives the money they’ll issue you the school tuition receipt for your records as proof of payment. As of today Sunday, 25th April, the CBN official exchange rate is: 1CAD = N305 Note: Nig banks usually don’t have Canadian dollars (CAD), so they’ll do the transaction with USD but your school will receive it in CAD. Also, the account you’re paying with will be debited with the CAD equivalent too. All the best. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All} |

Kayyyy: Hi Pinkey2021. Please I wanted to ask if I must have an account with either of the banks listed to pay the tuition?? Since many are saying Zenith bank is a No No (lol) I want to try Stanbic or Fidelity. Hello Kayyyy, you don’t need to have an existing account with the bank before you use their Form A services. That I know for sure. Form A is a CBN directive and not an individual banking policy. For instance I used Stanbic-IBTC and I’m not their customer. You can confirm this for yourself. Visit any Stanbic, Access, Fidelity, Zenith branch etc, stay away from old archaic banks like First bank and co, lol. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All} |

Moren002: Good evening, everyone. Please, my fiance is planning to relocate to Canada to for postgraduate study, we've met some persons(agents) and make enquiry but they kept saying that Canada isn't accepting people for now, that is Canada isn't issuing visa now till further notice and they gave option of UK. But, from the comment s read so far I understand that some persons have been accepted even this year while some are processing. So, I'm confuse if the agents lied and do not know what to do. Please, can someone enlighten me and guide us. Please help....
Thanks. The agent probably told you guys that because Canadian Visa has become really difficult to obtain compared to a few years back when agents practically had to do nothing for their clients to obtain their visas. Nowadays, the right and proper documents alone to apply with are discovered by a few people after trial by error applications. My candid advice: If you have the time and resources you can achieve success in your Canadian quest by staying put on this thread, because every info you’d need for a successful outcome can be gotten from here free of charge. But if you do not have the time, or patience required for this process, then you might want to consider their UK option. But definitely Canada is still issuing visas, they never stopped, not even during the lockdown/pandemic. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for Us All} |

prettymee: Good Evening All of my senior colleagues,
I am trying to gain admission into University of Manitoba for fall 2022.
I am currently running a program with University of Lagos and I will hopefully round up by the end of the year.
University of Manitoba is requesting for an in progress transcript for this program i haven't completed with unilag.
Has anyone ever had such a challenge, I have been talking to some unilag guys and they don't seem to have heard of an in progress transcript.
Help a sister out.....biko. From my understanding I think they mean your result so far on this program you’re on. What type of program is it and what level are you in? How many semesters have you covered so far? How many courses and exams have you written? Do you have your results? Especially your last semester/course results? Gather all your results covering the above questions and send to them. Also include your admission letter from the school too. I think that might satisfy them. {It’ll End In Praise for Us All} |

Teepearls: Hi, Is this CBN rate applicable if I intend to pay my tuition fee using the Form A u explained earlier? Thanks Yes. CBN is the bank rate. It’s also the cheapest and safest way to make tuition payment from Nig. Go to the bank for further info. I paid through Stanbic and it took exactly 4days for my school to receive the funds and issue my receipt. NOTE: Nigerian banks usually honour the funds payment with USD because CAD is not always readily available in Nig banks, although the school fees invoice and quote is in Canadian dollars. So, don’t be alarmed when they tell you they don’t have Canadian dollars but USD. In simple language the bank will pay the fees via Form A using USDollars, while your school will receive it in Canadian dollars. But you’ll be billed in the CAD equivalent. I hope I’m clear. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for Us All} |

ogunleyesijibomi: Hello house... I want to know if there is need for additional statement of account.. have paid a year tuition fee to my scchool in Canada and still have 4million naira in my own personal account which I submitted to NSC with test of English waiver letter. Here is my question.. is the 4million naira statement of account okay or I still need to add another statement of account? Finally I hope this doesn't sound somehow.. can anyone assist me with additional statement.of Account as this is my fifth time of applying to canada.. God have mercy oo 1. Since you’ve paid a full year’s tuition and have N4M left in your account, I don’t think you need to add additional statement as that amount covers your 10k living expenses and a little more for your flight ticket. Although, it wouldn’t hurt to add a little extra if you have it. 2. It definitely sounds somehow that you’re asking someone to “assist” you with additional statement of account! What do you hope to achieve with that? And how do you hope to go about it?! 3. Don’t jeopardize your application by engaging in anything shady pls. You said yourself that this is your 5th time applying, please thread with caution, for your own sake. If you can’t add any extra funds in YOUR OWN BANK STATEMENT, please leave the application as is. 4. Or am I not understanding what you’re asking for? Please await others input too. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All} |

teefinix: Kindly advise To the best of my knowledge as a frequent traveler in the past, you cannot buy a one-way ticket with a visit visa to any country. Only legal residents of a country whether temporary or permanent are accorded that privilege. But your case is a bit complicated cos I believe your children will be issued with either study permits or visitor records at the port of entry in Canada. So with that I don’t know if you can tell them your kids are actually eligible to stay longer in Canada for the duration of your studies, hence, are qualified to travel with one-way tickets. I’m not too certain of the exact solution here. However, my simple advice would be to book them return tickets just to be on the safe side. I seriously doubt if the airport/airline staff in Nig would understand Canada’s policy of issuing visitor record at POE for Children traveling with a parent holding a study permit. Pls await others input. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All} |

Ade2303: Hello everyone
I submitted my online application on March 7, 2021 (reapplication) but my biometrics which I’ve done since the first time I applied in 2019 hasn’t been updated in my new application yet. Is it something to be worried about?
I didn’t submitted any NSE document for my new application and yet to receive any update since I submitted, not even NSE, the only thing that’s been processed here is my background check which has been on immediately I submitted my application.
Is there anyone that reapplied in March or February and has gotten any update since then? Hello Ade2303, I’ve been following your posts and it seems we have almost the same profile. I submitted my application (a reapplication too) on Mar 4 and my Biometrics I did last year has not been updated also. Although I submitted MBS. And just like you too my background check started immediately (Mar 5). Are you for Fall intake? Maybe they’re waiting till after attending to the May intakes before starting ours. Let’s keep each other posted on developments. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All} |

elizyous: LONG POST ALERT!!!
Only a fool will say that there is no GOD! I have seen him at work in my life and I am a living testimony that He answers prayers in line with His will for you and me.
This journey started 2years ago when I initially wanted to do express entry but my score wasn’t high enough. I wrote IELTS back then and got an 8,8,8,6.5 in S,R,L and W respectively. I contested the writing score and to God’s glory, after 3 weeks it came back approved and my writing score was increased to 7 bringing me to an overall band score of 8.
Fast forward to last year October when I suddenly decided that I wanted to try the study route out and saw a course I like but it was one week to the deadline. I quickly gathered my documents and submitted a few days before deadline. I applied to just one school with faith. To GOD’s glory, I got the admission! 2nd hurdle crossed lol.
I was advised by a friend to ready up everything about packaging my application from Nairaland and I turn this platform to my new bible, digesting every detail from Thread 13 all the way from writing my SOP to how I arranged my documents. I even read from someone’s testimony here, to use my office email when applying which I also did. Thank you all for your immense contributions on this platform. You are saving lives!!! I packaged my application without using any agent, all to the glory of GOD ALMIGHTY. I arranged my documents using table of contents for each section as advised here. Funny part is that when I submitted my application with full NSE, I was expecting that in one month, my visa would have arrived. This one became a serious test of faith but God is always faithful. Imagine being sent for biometrics 1month after applying as against the usual 1 week of other people. I sent webforms and emails once every week, all the way to the same day I got my PPR and they kept responding with their usual email of its actively under control.
One thing I would suggest is that if you are yet to do your medicals, pls do and send to them. It saves you a whole lot of waiting because when they are checking ur eligibility, rather than sending u to go and do medicals which will take more time, its approved immediately.
My timeline is below:
Application Date: February 4th, 2021 (I submitted my application with all the requirements for NSE route) Upfront Medicals: February 26th, 2021 Upfront medicals passed: March 2nd, 2021 Biometrics Request Date: March 5th, 2021 Biometrics Done: March 8th, 2021 Request for MBS: April 9th, 2021 Submission of Additional Document (MBS): April 12th, 2021 Eligibility review started: April 13th, 2021 PPR and BVL!!!!! April 22nd, 2021
As at yesterday morning, I was still begging God to give me this as my birthday gift and lo and behold at 9:23am, my love letter dropped!!! I laughed, cried and rolled on the floor in my office. I couldn’t sleep all night, my mind has been racing on different things, truly-problem no dey finish, lol. Please pardon my long epistle.
God is too faithful to fail! He did it for me and will do it for everyone on this platform that is expecting. And to the gurus in the house who constantly help and give advice, may GOD bless you and grant all your hearts requests. AMEN A very big congrats to you once again. God is indeed faithful. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All} |

elizyous: With a study visa, are you allowed to work 20hours a week even though on your form u stated NO to the question, do u have recourse to work...... ?
Please respond. All students are permitted to work for 20hours a week, that’s the standard policy. The evidence of work requirement you’re asking about is Co-op and it’s not all programs/courses that have it included in their program structure. So if your course has Co-op you choose ‘Yes’ to that question and provide your evidence, if not you choose ‘No.’ So, whatever you chose there has no effect on your 20hours work eligibility granted to all students. I hope I was able to provide clarity to your question. {It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All} |

Baphil: PPR HERE!!!
Good morning everyone. I have come to give thanks to God again!!!!! He deserves all the praise.
I helped my friend apply for a January admission on the 5th of October 2020 and her BVL and PPR just came in this morning at 10:41am and 10 43am. I cannot begin to say the kind of emotions this application has raised in our hearts. We waited, we wrote, we did all things expected till we just resigned into God's hands.
She even started online classes thinking it would come very soon - for where? She went through so much stress!!! Oh!!!
I just burst into tears when I opened the mail; the waiting was not in vain!
Her timeline is as follows: Submission - 5th October 2020 Biometrics - 16th October 2020 NSE Request Letter - 19th November 2020 Upfront Medical passed - 2nd December 2020 BVL & PPR - 22nd April 2021
She did not meet up with the NSE Request but when it was taking too long, I just went ahead to submit an expired underscored IELTS of hers in March 2021. I wrote scores and scores of letters, so many webforms - I lost count! We also requested for her GCMS notes and everything seemed in order and positive and so we relaxed a bit.
October Applicants, get ready, it's raining PPR!!! Your worries and tears are being wiped away!!!
I will post the documents I submitted for her in a while.
Praise God with us!!!! Congratulations to you and her. God is indeed faithful. |
