A lot of factors may cause snail mortality, but the most likely one that comes to mind is that you check your water source, make sure there are no form of treatment in the water, like Chlorine etc.
Also, check and if possible, wash the food you feed them with, expecially the vegetables, for predatory insects. Some of them deposit harmful toxins in snails that kills them.
Guide your cage and make sure they are prey-proof.
