Two men received 100 lashings each after being caught having sex with underage girls in Indonesia, it is reported.

One reportedly begged officials to stop whipping him after just five lashes - saying he could no longer cope with the pain during the incident.

But the punishment today continued after a doctor deemed him fit enough to bear the other 95 lashes, according to reports.

Meanwhile, the other man with blood leaking through the back of his shirt took the lashings quietly, reports added.

The two men were reportedly arrested earlier this week one for having sex with his underage step-daughter and the other for engaging in relations with an underage neighbour.

They were also sentenced to five years in prison.
The punishment of giving 100 strokes of cain is given to the most severe crimes on the Indonesian island Sumatra.

And sometimes people gather in public spaces to watch, according to reports.
The age of consent in Indonesia is 18, but people aged 16 are able to get married with permission from their parents.

An irate cow on Sunday in Ughelli North community in Delta State allegedly killed its owner at the abattoir located at Oghenevweta street in Ughelli town after it suddenly went berserk.

It was gathered that the victim, Mohammed Jubrin, was allegedly killed by his cow after cutting the rope it was tied to and charged straight to the abattoir where the victim was busy with other cattle and hit him hard, leaving him in a pool of blood leading to his death before he was taken to the hospital.

An eyewitness, Muhammad Abdul, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in the area, said that the herder was gored to death on board a trailer used in conveying cow in company of tens of others from the northern part of the country to Ughelli town, adding that the victim had gone on board the trailer in an attempt to coerce the irate cow to come down from the truck when the animal went wild.

He said, “The cow immediately rammed into him with its horn stuck in the victim’s throat, flipped him up and went after him again in the same manner multiple times until he was rescued from the attacks. Unfortunately, he died in the hospital where he was rushed to for treatment but could not make it”, disclosing that the victim had since been buried in line with Islamic tradition.

It was further gathered that since the incident on Sunday, there has been palpable tension and fear of the unknown within Ughelli town, especially among cattle rearers in the area.

But, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, who spoke to newsmen about the incident, said, “It’s unfortunate that the cattle killed the owner. The cattle has however been killed”.

President Muhammadu Buhari said on Sunday that young people must lead the fight against corruption on the African continent to rescue it for the future generations.

Buhari noted that if the youths took up the fight, they would help to safeguard the resources of the continent within the African states and from the hands of looters.



The President was speaking in Abuja at the launch of the African Youth Congress Against Corruption.

The Nigerian President is the “Champion of the 2018 African Anti-Corruption Year,” a task the African Union gave him earlier in January to drive the war against corruption on the continent.

The AU, under the leadership of President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, had chosen “Winning the Fight Against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation”, as the theme of this year’s anti-corruption crusade.

Speaking at the launch, which took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Buhari recalled how the African Union Assembly, African heads of state and governments adopted the Nouakchott Declaration on corruption to justify the seriousness of the campaign and the role of young people as the catalysts for its success.

“The Declaration reiterated that corruption is not only an African phenomenon but a global one, especially when we consider illicit financial flows where Africa, regrettably, is in fact a net creditor to the world,” he stated.

On the place of the youths in driving the anti-graft war, Buhari added, “To the young people of Africa, this fight against corruption is yours to lead and to win in order to reverse the negative trends of corruption and its implications for Africa.

“The youth of Africa must pool their energies to effectively ensure that our natural and mineral resources remain on the continent for value addition, job and wealth creation as well as to create affordable health-care and quality education for our people. Winning the fight against corruption is very much in your hands!

“I thereby encourage young Africans to use this Declaration as motivation to achieve greater resource investment in developing anti-corruption curricula and anti-graft campaigns in schools, businesses and the general public space.”

A lecturer of Anambra State University, now known as Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, in Uli, Anambra state, transformed into Spiderman to teach his students during the ongoing ASUU Strike.



Lecturers who belong to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, are forbidden from teaching while the strike action is going on. But the lecturer wanted to carry on with his lecturers so he disguised as Spiderman.

Operatives of the IGP Intelligence Response Team, IRT, have handed over three suspected Advance Fee fraudsters to the Ibadan office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for further investigation.

The suspects who are between 22 and 29 years of age include Ebenezer Adeniyi Oluwafemi, Kolade Samuel Sogo, and Olwagbenga Majeed Ejikunke. They were arrested Tuesday 4th, December, 2018 in Ilesha, Osun State following series of intelligence gathered by the operatives.

Preliminary investigations further revealed that the suspects allegedly got involved in different romance scam posing as female foreigners to fleece unsuspecting victims on the social media.

At the point of arrest, varied fetish materials, two laptops, and five different brands of telephones were recovered from them. Several documents containing false pretences were also recovered from the suspects.

According to the Head, Ibadan Office, Abdulrasheed Bawa, the handing over of the three suspects brought the total number of Advance Fee fraudsters arrested in the Ibadan office to 40 in the last couple of weeks. “The zone is no longer a hiding place for the fraudsters”, he stated.

Investigation is still ongoing and the suspects will soon be charged to court.

A 17-year-old Senior Secondary School student of Ado Grammar School, Ado Ekiti, Kehinde Timilehin, reportedly hacked a fellow student, Favour Matthew, 16, to death on Thursday.

The two pupils were said to have engaged each other in ‘charms (juju) contest’ following which Mathew was said to have gone home to bring an axe and bottles to attack Timilehin.


During the contest, sources said Timilehin allegedly overpowered Mathew. He collected the axe from Matthew and struck him in the chest. He was rushed to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, where he died.

The school principal, Mr Ebenezer Falayi explained that the sad incident occurred around 2.15pm at a far section of the school after closing hours.

Falayi said, “This incident really saddened us because it was avoidable. What I gathered from students who were at the spot was that the two were arguing over who had superior power and the deceased had earlier gone home to bring all those weapons which could not pierce the suspect when used on him.

“I was told that the suspect later overpowered the deceased and collected those weapons and attacked the victim in the chest. Our teachers, including myself, the vice principal and registrar alongside other teachers who were resident in the school here rushed him to EKSUTH. We even took the suspect along.

“The victim was put on life support, but that could not help the situation, he died in the hospital. I had to quickly call the DPO of Odo Ado Police Station who reinforced his men and contacted the police station at Oke Ila, Ado Ekiti, to prevent the suspect from being killed by highly enraged deceased’s family members.

“The hospital insisted on an autopsy before releasing the corpse, but the family resisted it. The corpse was later released to the family when it nearly caused trouble in the hospital.

“The police also took the suspect into custody. But I had to beg for security beef up around the school when there was a threat that 30 students will be killed in reprisal today (Friday),” Falayi stated.

A police source, who confirmed the incident, said: “The suspect was immediately taken to the Criminal Investigation Department at the Police Command shortly after the deceased was confirmed dead.”
Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, DSP Caleb Ikechukwu, said the suspect was in the police custody while investigation had begun.

Nigerian singer, Ayoleyi Solomon, popularly known as Reekedo Banks has parted ways with Mavin Record, a music company owned by Don Jazzy.

A citizen of Benin Republic, Mudashiru Nurudeen, and his friend, Rafiu Ismail, have been jailed by an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly stealing loudspeakers and a wall fan from a mosque.

The convicts, while appearing before Chief Magistrate M. A. Awodele, pleaded guilty to all but one of the charges preferred against them.



The prosecutor, Inspector Jafani Muslim, told the court that the convicts had on December 2, 2018, around 6.30am, broke into the Islaudeen Central Mosque, Alekuwodo, Osogbo, and stole some items.

The stolen items were five core loudspeakers valued at N7,000 and a wall fan valued at N10,000.

The convicts, it was learnt, had before they were caught, robbed a man fabricating pans for baking bread, whom they approached to engage them as workers in his workshop.

Reading his judgement, Magistrate Awodele found Rafiu guilty on two out of the three counts and sentenced him to three months in prison.

Awodele also passed a guilty verdict on Mudashiru, who was sentenced to three months imprisonment on each of the three counts. The terms are to run concurrently from the first day of detention of the convicts.

A seven-year-old boy has become the highest earner on YouTube, amassing a staggering $21.6million this year, new figures reveal.

Astonishingly the Ryan ToysReview channel has 17 million followers, putting him at the top of the 2018 Forbes list.


The schoolboy's videos show him reviewing toys, and his verdict has a huge impact on product sales.

Ryan, who posts a new video each day, has been doing it since March 2015, with his parents and twin sisters also featuring.

When he was asked by NBC why his channel is doing so well, he replied: "Because I'm entertaining and I'm funny."
H[/b]is mum who has declined to reveal her full name quit her job as a chemistry teacher to concentrate on her son's growing internet career, The Verge previously reported.

His mum said Ryan was an avid review watcher before his channel was launched.

So we just decided yeah, we can do that.

Adebo, popularly known as 'Idajo', was released on Saturday evening, after spending a night at the Force Criminal Investigative Department, Alagbon, Lagos State where he was briefly detained and quizzed by the security operatives.

The Ondo State NURTW boss was arrested on Friday by security agents who stormed Akure, the Ondo State capital after a petition was written against him about an attack on lawmakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly.

Jacob Adebo, the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ondo State, has named those who sponsored the attacks by himself and other NURTW members on the Ondo State House of Assembly.

Adebo, popularly known as 'Idajo', was released on Saturday evening, after spending a night at the Force Criminal Investigative Department, Alagbon, Lagos State where he was briefly detained and quizzed by the security operatives.

The Ondo State NURTW boss was arrested on Friday by security agents who stormed Akure, the Ondo State capital after a petition was written against him about an attack on lawmakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly.
Confirming his release on Sunday, an official of the NURTW said Adebo was released after he was "thoroughly quizzed" over his role and involvement in the attacks on lawmakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly.

The official, who preferred not to be named, explained that the NURTW boss confessed to leading members of the NURTW to the Assembly and mentioned the names of those who had been sponsoring him on such similar attacks in the state.

He revealed further that despite the release, the Ondo NURTW boss was also instructed to report back to the FCID on Monday in continuation of the case.

"He (Idajo) was released on Saturday after sleeping over at FCID office in Alagbon, Lagos where he spent one night following the petition written against him by some people in the state. The Police detectives interrogated, and asked him questions which were mainly on his role in the recent attack at the State House of Assembly," the source said.

"In fact, he was faced with evidence — audio — on how he instructed his boys from the union to invade the House of Assembly and and kill anyone in sight. When he was shown the evidence, even with video and pictures of him and his boys destroying properties at the Assembly, he confessed the names of those who sent him and footed his bills for the attack.

"Already, he (Idajo) has mentioned the names of some politicians who have been sponsoring him, and four of them are close to the incumbent Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and one is a popular politician in Akure. I am aware he would report back to the FCID in Alagbon, Lagos for the continuation of the case and he is likely to go with two persons who are his boys and had also been fingered in the attack."

Meanwhile, there is palpable fear among members of the NURTW in the state following Adebo's arrest by security operatives.

Some union members, particularly the executives who are very loyal to the NURTW boss, have already fled Ondo State over possible arrest by the Police on the ongoing case.

An source loyal to Adebo, who spoke to our correspondent on Sunday, said some of those implicated have also fled the state.

"Some of us fled because we heard the Police would surely come after us over this ongoing case and some other cases which include the attack on a radio broadcaster, who was almost lyched at the park by some thugs sent by Idajo.

"I was told that the Chairman (Idajo) was just confessing like a bird when he was threatened with jail terms at the FCID in Alagbon, Lagos where he has mentioned many names of those sponsoring him. Even, the Ondo State Chairman of the APC has been implicated in the case because there was consistent phone interaction between him and Idajo with some of the union boys.

"For me, I have been given the best advice which is to leave the state for now, and I know two others who have also fled because of the fear of an impending arrest. We cannot spend our Christmas and New Year in jail."

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has told Nigerians to focus on real issues rather than ask questions on his relationship with 'Bourdillon'.

He stated this in a video he posted on Twitter on Sunday, where he attempted to address questions for Lagosians on his plans for the state if he is elected Governor.

The first question he responded to was from @Deolububble, whom he repeatedly referred to as 'Double Bubble'.

@Deolububble's post read: "Sanwo-Olu Bawo? Where this one come from? Na so dem bring pesin wey no know anything about government to run Lagos."

Responding to the post, Sanwo-Olu said: "Actually, Double B, I've been in government since 2002. Once Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions. Before then, Special Adviser, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry. I've also been Commissioner for Establishment, Training and Pension and finally, I've also been MD of LSDPC. Look, it's obvious to me, Bubble, that you can use Twitter. So, I believe that you can also Google my resume and you can find a whole lot on me."

The question on Bourdillon came from @jimidisu, which read: "Can Sanwo-Olu speak for himself if not from Bourdillon(Tinubu)?"

In his response, Sanwo-Olu said: "Well, Jimi, I realise this may be of concern to you and a few other people, which is why I have various interactions in the coming weeks online and offline.

A famous statue of the Virgin Mary has been recorded 'weeping' tears of blood.

People have flocked to the home of the Frias family in the town of Metan in the Salta province in northwestern Argentina to see the statue known as the Virgin of the Mystic Rose.

It made international headlines earlier this year when it was filmed seemingly weeping tears of blood.

Its owner Rosana Mendoza Frias has now recorded the apparent phenomenon happening again.

In the video, the statue can be seen with red liquid on its face which appears to come from its eyes.

The statue was first brought to her house eight years ago after she suffered a miscarriage, Rosana told local news outlet Informate Salta.

She said: "I always tell people that this depends on faith, not on us, as we do nothing, we only open our doors so that they can come here to pray, and through her God will perform a miracle."

According to Rosana it first started 'crying blood' in April 2017.

She claims that the statue has now cried 38 different times and that when a photo of the apparent phenomenon was first posted online 7,000 people had gathered outside the house 10 hours later.

She said the most recent 'crying blood' incident came as she was praying to it for her mother's health.

The Virgin of the Mystic Rose has been linked to several 'miracles', such as a woman who had a three-inch tumour which reportedly disappeared after she visited the statue.

The owner has built a designated space for the statue in her home with the help of others and her own money, creating a glass cabinet to protect it.

Around 30 people gather in front of the statue to pray from Monday to Friday, according to reports.

While part of the Catholic world seem inspired by the Virgin of the Mystic Rose, it has - like all of the many statues that people have claimed are crying - attracted its fair share of skeptics.

THE world's biggest cow will be saved from the chop after its 6ft 4in frame is too big to fit into abattoir, a farmer revealed.

Knickers, a seven-year-old Holstein Friesian, is more than twice the size of the rest of the cows in Myalup, Western Australia.

Holstein-Friesians are a dairy breed and normally weigh in at about 1,500 pounds and stand about 4ft 1oins tall.

Even the breed's bulls only reach just 5ft 10ins and weigh 2,200lbs.

Butchers say the giant would produce around 1,400 lbs of trimmed "saleable" beef  - enough for 450 cuts of steak and 370kg of mince.

The bovine behemoth stands head and shoulders above other farm beasts and weighs in at an incredible 1.4 tonnes (3,083lbs).

Owner Geoff Pearson - whose beast is the biggest of its breed in Australia - said: "It was too heavy. I wouldn’t be able to put it through a processing facility.

"So I think it will just live happily ever after."

The beast cost owners £225 and they bought him as a "coach" to take charge of the herd.
Knickers is technically a steer - which is a castrated male bovine.

Geoff continued: "When he was young, when we first got him, we had another cow which was a friend of his.

"So his name was bra... so we (had) bra and knickers. We never thought he would turn into a big knickers."

Geoff Pearson has about 20,000 cattle.

Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of the megahit Nickelodeon cartoon series “SpongeBob SquarePants,” died on Monday. He was 57.

The cause of death was ALS, which Hillenburg revealed he had been diagnosed with in March of last year.

“We are incredibly saddened by the news that Steve Hillenburg has passed away following a battle with ALS,” Nickelodeon said in a statement. “He was a beloved friend and long-time creative partner to everyone at Nickelodeon, and our hearts go out to his entire family. Steve imbued ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ with a unique sense of humor and innocence that has brought joy to generations of kids and families everywhere. Stephen began to work full-time on writing producing, and directing on the animated series that would eventually become “SpongeBob SquarePants.” The first episode aired on Nickelodeon on May 1, 1999 and the series commenced its full run on July 17 of that year. The series has aired nearly 250 episodes to date. It appealed not only to children but older viewers as well, with college students even organizing viewing parties for the show.

The series has won both U.S. and British Emmy Awards, Annie Awards, and ASACP Awards and has been dubbed or subtitled in more than 60 languages, including Urdu, Azerbaijani and Maori.

Hillenburg also wrote, produced, and directed “The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie,” which was released in 2004 and went on to gross over $140 million worldwide. Hillenburg then wrote the story for and was the executive producer of the sequel, “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water,” in 2015.

Hillenburg was born August 21, 1961, at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. After leaving the military, his father, Kelly N. Hillenburg, Jr., became a draftsman and designer for aerospace companies. His mother Nancy taught visually impaired students.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years Karen Hillenburg, son Clay, mother Nancy Hillenburg (nee Dufour) and brother Brian Kelly Hillenburg, his wife Isabel, and nieces Emma and Hazel.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, November 26, 2019, arraigned one Christopher Okeke alongside his company, Sanfill Nigeria LTD before Justice D.Z Senchi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Jabi, Abuja on a two-count charge of obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N15,300,000 (Fifteen Million Three Hundred Thousand Naira).

Okeke was alleged to have fraudulently used his company to hack into the account of Chams Nigeria LTD and moved the total sum of N15,300,000 (Fifteen Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira) only into his company, Sanfill Nigeria LTD.

One of the counts reads: “That you, Christopher Okeke, whilst being the Director of Sanfill Nigeria Ltd. and Sanfill Nigeria LTD on or about 4th and 7th October 2016 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja did with intent to defraud, conspired to obtain the sum of N9,500,000 (Nine Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira) only and N5,800,000 (Five Million Eight Hundred Thousand Naira) only respectively from Chams Nig LTD, Wema Bank a/c No. 0121579940 and transfers to Sanfill Nig LTD a/c No. 6001591797 domiciled in Heritage Bank under the false pretence that the sum was purportedly transferred from Oluwakemi Esene with email ocsene@chams.com and lenoidem@chams.com accountant of Chams Nigeria LTD which representation you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 8(a) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and other related offences act 2006 and punishable under section 1(3) of the same Act.”

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges. In view of his plea, the Prosecution counsel, Steve E. Odiase asked for a date for commencement of trial.

Justice Senchi while adjourning the matter to February 26, 2019 admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of One Million Naira with two sureties in like sum. The sureties, the court ruled, must be residents of Abuja and must sign an undertaking to provide the defendant on the dates of trial.

Pastor Bartholomew Orr of Brown Baptist Church, Memphis gave members of his congregation the surprise of their lives when he entered into the church building flying on a zip line.

The entrance which was perfectly inline with the message of the day “Jesus’ return” has generated a lot of reactions on social media.

Pastor Orr is now being dubbed “The Flying Preacher” after the video went viral on social media.

The pastor appears not to be bothered by social media reactions. He said he’s glad people are being reached by the sermon in the video.

The young woman apparently died after a bus accident in India.

The girl and boy were in a relationship for years and were about to get married when tragedy struck.

The young fellow chose to marry his dead sweetheart in a guarantee to keep her in his life until the end of time.

The video has been widely shared on the social media after being filmed by one of the mourners.

Viewers have expressed their appreciation for the boyfriend's moving gesture.

A Plateau High Court, sitting in Jos, on Monday sentenced 24-year-old Godwin Banchir, to death by hanging for beating his 65-year-old mother to death for not responding to his greetings.

Justice Daniel Longji, handed down the sentence as he found Banchir guilty of killing his biological mother.
Delivering the judgment, Longji said: “Going by the findings of this court, you Godwin Banchir, mercilessly took the life of your mother, Mrs Saratu Banchir, in cold blood.

“This sentence is mandatory, as the law states that any person convicted of murder shall be punished with death by hanging.
“The sentence of this court upon you is that you, Godwin Banchir, will be hanged until you are dead, may God have mercy on your soul,’’ he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the convict was first arraigned on June 6, 2016, charged with culpable homicide, contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code punishable with death upon conviction.

The convict was said to have committed the crime on Jan. 21, 2016, when he used a stick to beat his mother to death.

Banchir in his confessional statement said that he returned from the farm on the said date and found his mother sitting in the compound and when he greeted her, she ignored him.

He said that, that infuriated him and he picked a stick and hit her.

In his words: “I got angry when she did not respond to my greetings, so I picked the stick of an axe and hit her around her ribs.

“She fell down and started shouting, which attracted our neighbours who came to beat me up and later took me to the police station.

“I have been having misunderstandings with my mother each time I return from the farm, she doesn’t cook for me on time, and she always quarrel with me whenever I want to bath with the water she fetched from the stream.

“Her actions always annoy me, I did not know that she was going to die from the beating she received from me,” he said.
