Chelsea's appeal against a transfer ban by FIFA for breaking rules to sign youth players from abroad will be heard on Nov. 20 at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

CAS has announced the hearing date on Monday, with a verdict due before the midseason transfer window opens in January.

Chelsea already served half of its one-year ban on registering new players during the offseason trading period.

The club did not seek to freeze the FIFA sanction while preparing the appeal to CAS.

FIFA's disciplinary and appeal committees have said Chelsea violated 150 rules protecting minors from trafficking. Those cases involved about 70 players.

Chelsea was also judged to break rules prohibiting third-party influence on players. FIFA imposed a fine of 600,000 Swiss francs ($608,000).

A tattoo addict went blind for three weeks after undergoing an agonising procedure to turn her eyes blue.

Amber Luke, 24, from Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia, has spent £13,901 on transforming her looks, having her tongue split, earlobes stretched and other 'modifications'.


These include 200 tattoos, a boob job, lip and cheek fillers and ear spike implants, however getting her eyes tattooed was the most painful of them all.

Ms Luke, who refers to herself as the 'Blue Eyed White Dragon', said: "I can't even begin to describe to you what the feeling was like.
"The best thing I can give you is once the eyeball was penetrated with the ink, it felt like (the tattoo artist) grabbed 10 shards of glass and rubbed it in my eye.

"That happened four times per eye, that was pretty brutal. Unfortunately, my artist went too deep into my eyeball."

She added that the procedure does not cause blindness if done correctly, Mail Online reports.
The ordeal has put the Australian off undergoing further extreme body modifications, although she plans to keep getting tattoos until she is fully covered.

Ms Luke's mum, Vikki, broke down in tears after finding out about about her daughter's eyeball treatment.

Vikki said she questioned why her daughter took the risk, however she has accepted that there is nothing she can do to deter her.

The mother emphasised that she just wanted to support her daughter, who never saw herself as beautiful while growing up.

Ms Luke said she has no regrets about her 10-year transformation.

The 'body modifier' claims to have received a mix of negative and positive feedback from strangers about her looks.

A celebrity hairdresser dubbed “Cristiano Ronaldo’s crimper” has been stabbed to death in a Swiss hotel room.

Ricardo Marques Ferreira has been named as the murder victim whose body was found by a cleaner at a business hotel in Zurich’s Albisrieden neighbourhood on Friday.


Portugal’s leading tabloid Correio da Manha today linked him to the former Real Madrid and Man United star, describing him as “ Cristiano Ronaldo ’s hairdresser.”

The hair stylist and make-up artist, from the island of Madeira like Cristiano, posted a photo on social media of him putting the final touches to the footballer’s look for a September 2015 photoshoot.
The dead man, whose body was discovered around 2pm on Friday, was found in bed with multiple stab wounds. The murder weapon was not found at the scene.

Police in Zurich have arrested a 39-year-old, it was confirmed on Sunday morning. The detainee is understood to be a Brazilian national.
There has been no official comment on the possible motive for the crime.

Local reports said several guests had phoned reception hours before the grim discovery to complain about noise coming from the victim’s room.

The scene the cleaner came across has been described as “horrific”, with reports the room he was in smelt intensely of alcohol.

Five men who were wrongly imprisoned for a combined 120 years will receive a total of about $9 million in compensation, a Maryland board decided Wednesday.

The Maryland Board of Public Works voted 3-0 for the compensation. In what amounts to the largest amount ever paid to an exoneree in the state, one man who was imprisoned for 38 years on an erroneous murder conviction will receive about $3 million.

Four of the men are black and one is white. Their cases are not connected to each other, although at least four of them involved instances of faulty witnesses.

"I just want to thank those men, acknowledge the sacrifice that they made, hope that they understand that this is their community's way of recognizing that not only were they innocent, but they were terribly, terribly wronged, and I apologize," said Treasurer Nancy Kopp, one of the board's three members.

A South Carolina woman bit off the penis of a convicted sex offender who allegedly attacked her — then used his own knife to stab him in the butt, according to reports.

Dennis Glenn Slaton, 61, is accused of picking up the woman when she needed a ride from a Greenville gas station, instead pulling a knife on her and driving her to his home, according to the Greenville News.

Slaton, who has a slew of sex convictions, including sodomy and attempted rape assaulted her and threatened to kill her once he was done, the paper reported, citing Greenville County Sheriff’s Office reports.

But the woman fought back — biting him to sever his penis and then using his own knife to stab him in the buttocks before fleeing, according to WFMY 2.

Slaton confirmed the gruesome injury in a sob story to the Greenville News.

“It was pretty bad, pretty tragic, what happened to me,” he said of the August incident being reported this week for the first time. “If things had not transpired as they had, I would have been found here at my house dead.”

Naked and covered in blood, the victim had run down the street banging on doors begging for help before finally arriving at a nearby Waffle House. Police then found Slaton with his horrific injury and the house covered in blood, according to the reports.

Paramedics took him to a hospital where he underwent surgery, the Greenville News said, giving no details on how successful it was.

Slaton was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping. Despite his lengthy rap sheet stretching back to 1977, he was released on $75,000 bond with a condition of home incarceration, the reports said.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) on Monday, re-arraigned former Governor of Benue, Gabriel Suswam on a nine-count charge bordering on money laundering at the Federal High Court Abuja.

Suswam, a serving senator, was re-arraigned before Justice Okon Abang alongside Omadachi Oklobia who was the Commissioner of Finance in Benue when he was governor.

The duo pleaded not guilty to all charges and was granted bail based on terms earlier granted by Justice Ahmed Mohammed after they were arraigned before him in 2015.
Justice Abang asked counsel in the matter to cooperate with the court warning that he would not entertain any frivolous applications for adjournment.

Abang took over the trial of Suswam, following the withdrawal of Justice Mohammed from the trial.

Mohammed had cited a publication by Sahara Reporters which accused him of having been compromised to give Suswam a soft landing as his reason to withdraw from the case.

Suswam had challenged the jurisdiction of the court presided over by Justice Abang to handle the matter.

His counsel, Ms Chinelo Ugbozor had argued on his behalf that the matter had already commenced in another court and four witnesses had been called.

However, counsel to the EFCC, O.A Atolagbe maintained that a judge could not be compelled to handle a matter.

Atolagbe reminded the court that since it was the second time, Justice Mohammed was withdrawing from the case, he could not be compelled to hear it.

The EFCC is prosecuting Suswam and Oklobia on nine counts of money laundering bordering on the alleged diversion of N3.1billion from the proceeds of the sale of shares owned by the Benue Government since 2015.

The matter has been adjourned until Oct. 29, Oct. 30 and Oct. 31.

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ilorin, on Monday, ordered Yusuf Shehu be remanded in prison custody for alleged possession of human skull hair.

NAN reports that Shehu, 21, is a resident kf No 11, Alkali Street, Isale Koto area, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Chief Magistrate, Ibrahim Dasuki, made the order on the request of the prosecuting counsel, Sgt. Rhoda Kayode.

Dasuki advised the accused person to get a competent lawyer to stand for him, and adjourned the case until Oct. 7 for ruling.

The prosecutor had earlier told the court that on Sept. 18, a patrol team attached to the Nigeria Police Operation Harmony, Ilorin, led by Supol Hidi and four others, intercepted a commercial bus, heading to Lagos from Ilorin, along Eiyekorin Area, Ilorin.

Kayode said that during a random search of the vehicle and the passengers, the accused person was found in possession of cowries, human hair, native black soap, shredded white cloth among other charms.

She said that during interrogation, the accused could not give a satisfactory explanation for the items, but confessed to have been sent by one Alfa Gafar to deliver the charms to someone in Lagos State.

The accused person pleaded not guilty, saying that the items found in his possession were for his personal protection.

“The black soap is not for me, I was asked to give it to somebody, but the remaining items found on me, like human skull hair, cowries and others were for my protection.

“I was formerly a welder in Ilorin until the death of my mother, then I decided to work in Lagos as a security man, but I was sacked and people advised me to go home for spiritual protection.

“I found the human hair inside a hole, on the wall of a house, and bought the cowries, and other items for protection. I just keep the items in my pocket to be protected against evils,” Shehu said.

The prosecutor said that the accused committed an offence of unlawful removal of human parts and possession of human parts for use as “juju” or charm.

Kayode said that the offence is contrary to Section 7 and 2 and punishable under Section 12 (a) and (b) of the Kwara State Prohibition of dealing in Human Parts Law, No. 4 of 2018.

She said that investigation into the case had been completed, urging the court to remand the accused person in prison custody.

“Insp Ibrahim Ozobehe, attached to the criminal investigation department, carried out the investigation and wrote a nine paragraph affidavit; and we rely on all for our information.

“Attached with the affidavit is the acknowledgment from the Ministry of Justice,” Kayode said.

AN aspiring actress was found hanged in a wardrobe by her dad after social media fuelled her fears she was ugly, an inquest heard.

Shante Stephenson, 19, would often compare herself to friends online - struggling with low self-esteem over her appearance and after recently losing her job.
Tragically, Walthamstow Coroners' Court heard the teen had taken her life just a week after being assessed as "no longer in crisis" by the NHS.

The inquest also heard Shante was supposed to have medication delivered to her the day she died but it was delivered two days late.

Dr William Travers, at the time a consultant psychiatrist with the Impart home treatment team, said he had met the teen a week after one of her first suicide attempts.

He said: "It seemed to have been triggered by an experience she had performing a role in a theatre show case, she didn't think she performed it well, and she was dwelling on it, replaying it over and over in her mind."

Dr Travers added the teen revealed how she had struggled with her weight and feelings of being inadequate.

He said: "She told me that since the age of 11 she was focused on not being good enough, with regard to her career ambitions and her physical appearance in particular.

"She was continuously comparing herself to her peers and frequently looking at multiple social media sites."

The young woman had been referred to an NHS crisis team but she was formally discharged on June 22 - five days before her death.

Experts told the inquest she had seemed "positive" and "optimistic" about the future at the time.

The inquest heard that anti-depressant discharge medication was arranged for Shante and was to be delivered on June 27, the day she passed away, but arrived two days after on June 29.

She was continuously comparing herself to her peers and frequently looking at multiple social media sites-Dr William TraversConsultant Psychiatrist

He said: "I was concerned at one stage but on deeper analysis I believe there would have been no difference to the outcome of events had they happened in a more proficient, compassionate or precautionary way."

He said witnesses who had given evidence at the inquest had been taken by "surprise" by the young woman's death.

Ass Coroner Wade added: "What I can say it's that Shante was a very vital person, she had set very high standards and conditions for herself.

"Aspiring actress is a delightful term and it conveys she had remarkable drivenness and shows to me she imposed upon herself aspirations and standards which were way beyond what any young person should impose on themselves.
