Ok, firstly I see you are not in Nigeria, secondly how do you want the solution you are offering to be implemented using the situation that Nigeria is currently in?
Thank you brother. Though not in Nigeria, I have family in Nigeria and constantly coming home. And my prayers for Nigeria to be great again.

Nigeria needs to be regionally divided, with each region having full control of their resources while we have weak central government.

Appointments to regional Assembly of law makers must be on part-time basis. Everyone must have his full time job, so every elected regional law makers should be paid allowance per sitting..ASUU in conjunction with each regional labour Congress should lead this fight to make politics less attractive, they shouldn't demand increased wages in the course of this fight so everyone will join them in the struggle.

To fight corruption, we need a strong and sound institutions. Our institutions are quite weak and enabled corruption.

While I was on my PhD outside Nigeria, my bursary was delayed due some mistakes on my own part. I approached my Prof to borrow me 100 Euro, his response shocked me. His response was where do I get that kind of money? This is a German Prof with many many years as Prof. What he did was to call a departmental meeting because of me and told his colleagues about my predicament.
They all began to contribute to me and at the end of the day, I even got slightly above 100 Euros.
My point they're not rich but they're happy, the working conditions are awesome, they can come to school with bicycles and they will be smiling because the environment is fine. They're not thinking about health needs, standard health care are available for all, they are not afraid of leaving school anytime because of sound security.

I don't know how we got here as a country jaree. It's terrible.

Then you just indirectly said that the FG is paying a bad minimum wage to Nigerian workers in totality if the professors you claim are earning the highest among the list of workers you mentioned cannot afford flight ticket with their salary, then how about those you mentioned earning lesser than them.

You talk about rebuilding the system and fighting corruption, who is going to do that? be sincere with yourself, do you think Tinubu with the type of government he is running will be able to achieve that?

I keep asking people who support Tinubu, what exactly did they elect him for?

Because I have checked all round and the only reasons I see is for tribal, religious, political or monetary reasons or just clearly being deceived...
You raised a very good point on who's going to fight for right system? Note that I am not a fan of of all these useless politicians.
But ASUU as the major academics in Nigeria ought to have led battle intellectually in conjunction with NLC.
Unfortunately, University lecturers are as corrupt as the politicians. A professor has fought me seriously before because I was
staying in his BQ and his son had a 'D' in my course while I was lecturing in the university.
Imagine that a professor of many years asking me a graduate assistant why I would be staying in his BQ, sometimes eating his food and his son would have a 'D' in my course. What was he teaching me? The Prof today is the vice chancellor of the same institution in SW.
Those who come to equity must come with clean hands. Our system is corrupt. We need to be regionally divided first.
Then region would have to adopt what's best for them.
The current model cannot work, and it will not work. Everyone is almost corrupt in that country.

When I wrote here that a professor in Nigeria cannot afford flight ticket with his salary but a factory worker in the U.S can go on full holiday trip to another country with his salary, some people who are supporting the evil in Aso rock where saying otherwise to justify what the evil has turned Nigeria to.

Just imagine the lowest workers abroad earning more than our professors here in Nigeria and yet they are telling Nigerians that they need to pay tax and price of goods and services like those abroad, also telling us that the evil they support is the best thing to happen to Nigeria
You seem not to understand the main point.
I once told my friend who we lectured briefly together in 2014 in one of the federal universities in SW that ASUU keeps fighting meaningless fights.

There's no point comparing your salary with politicians because politicians are for certain period of time and the process of winning elections in Nigeria is not what an ordinary person can dare or go through.
Now back to salary, why not comparing your salaries with primary and secondary schools teachers, why not comparing with other civil servants. You'll agree with me that ASUU salaries is still relatively okay compared to those people. There's no where in the world where academics are paid as politicians.
I have got many friends in other African universities including South Africa who left to to take up government appointments or goes into industry on the account of better pay.

The point I was making is that Nigeria is sick and ASUU should start fighting for right system. When there's right system in place, anyone will be fine with his salary.
The corruption that goes on in Universities is as alarming as what's obtained among the politicians.

ASUU keeps fighting wrong battle, because they know they're as guilty as politicians.
Nigeria needs total and complete overhaul, no government workers is well paid except those stealing. Our health system is in shambles, poor emergency services and may serious issues.

Nigeria needs to be pulled down and rebuilt. The current system is not sustainable. ASUU knows Nigeria needs to be divided along the regional basis before the country can meaningful progress but you'll not see them talking about it because it will diminish their strength.
South African Academics are not rich but the environment they operate is as condusive as environment people on the street operate. Good roads for all, stable electricity for all, improved health care for all.

I haven't seen any South African Profs with two cars. But the roads are good , while Nigerian professors parade many cars but the roads are terrible and can be easily kidnapped.
Nigeria is sick! Nigeria is sick. We need to pull the system down and rebuild a better system for all and not for some workers only!!!!
EducationRe: Looming Crisis In Universities: Professors Earn ₦633,333, Senators '₦21 Million' by PJ123: 6:39pm On Aug 31, 2025
It's unfortunate how these Profs think. What are the teachers earning in the country?
If you want to earn as much as politicians, go and contest elections and see how it is.

There is no where in the world where Professors earn as much as politicians.

I expect these professors to join hands with the masses to fight corruption in the country but rather they want to be as rich as thieves. No wonder the university system is as corrupt as these useless politicians.

No be you go tell me waiting I need or not need.

This issue is still about general living in Nigeria, because you can connect this salary issue MINIMUM WAGE.
Minimum wage in Nigeria is less than $50, yet a lot of states is still not paying it after many years of so-called implementation. Yet all those states collect monthly federal allocations and security votes.

Last week, Alex otti is not paying teachers well and not paying the minimum wage used 25 BILLION NAIRA to build 3 bungalow blocks classroom, an amount that can build 500 copies without corruption and stealing.
I got your point about mismanagement and corruption in Nigeria polity. This is a systemic problem that has pervaded every fabric of our society. Corruption in academics is also at alarming scale so also in the civil service.

The money being stolen by politicians and in other sectors is not meant to increase salaries of some people but rather judiciously used to improve the general conditions of the country both for the current generation and generations yet unborn.

We still don't have standard hospitals in Nigeria, we are still faced with high level of insecurity and many roads in the Urban centers are still in poor conditions, not to talk of roads in rural sectors.

I have seen several times of a Vice chancellor of a leading University in South Africa driving himself out from the school during my short stay in that school. This cannot happen in Nigeria.

A friend of my mine who did his PhD in Italy told me the he had been in the same Train several times with the head of that University.

And one occasion he summoned the courage to approach the woman and ask Prof where's your official car.

The woman responded we don't have such money in this country.

May God help Nigeria!!!!

This is why it'll continue not to be well with many of you. Because you connect partisanship, tribe and politics to EVERYTHING.
This topic is not about some particular professors or university staff, it's more about fairness and doing the right thing.
How can it be okay that average salary of professors in:
Ghana is x4
Kenya is X5
South Africa is x8 etc
To what Nigerian professors receive?

Meanwhile, Nigeria is even richer than all these countries.

WHY IS IT THAT IT'S ONLY NIGERIAN PROFESSORS THAT RECEIVES THE HIGHEST SALARIES IN THE WORLD?

You expect government not to be paying staff well and you expect the staff be work well and be faithful and diligent with work?

Later, you blame them for collecting bribe.

Nigeria is one of the few countries in the world that an average senior civil servants can't afford a new car or house even with their 10 years salary.
Wake up!
You don't need to results to curses because someone doesn't share your views or opinions.

What of primI school teachers in South Africa.
What of Secondary schools teachers in South Africa or UK.

Don't forget some bank managers left their work to work as caregiver in UK. What who you say about that.

The issue with Nigeria is about general living conditions.
If everyone keeps comparing their salaries, there would not be headway for the country.

Government should improve living conditions for all in terms of security, good roads, improved health care services and reduced environmental pollution. Then you choose your career, if you want to earn as banker go there, if you want to earn as a politician go there.

and u no feel as*ame as u typed this?
The issue about Nigeria is not about selective wage increase.

Professors shouldn't be comparing their salaries with politicians. Even in South Africa where conditions are generally better, I k kw quite number of professors that left academics to take up government appointments or join politics. You choose your battle.

The issue is with Nigeria is systemic. You can see that a South African Professor in South Africa is not definitely rich in South Africa, though the general conditions of working is much better as it applies to all their sectors.

So in Nigeria, the issue is not the wage, there's need for general improvement in working conditions of all government workers and for improving living conditions for all Nigerians.

Most guys become Professors in Nigeria before 50 years, and I know so many guys who practically do nothing except mere administrative work till 70 years and collect salaries.

You see if you talk of professors, go to secondary secondary schools, there are people with Msc and some with PhD.

Why do you expect them to do if they start their comparing their salaries with junior lecturers in Universities.

Government need to overhaul our entire system; improved living conditions for all Nigerians irrespective of your profession.

Then you choose your career, if you want to earn as much as investment banker, leave academics and go to industry and then compare the pressure and stress.

You get to some points in your life you choose peace and rest over more and more.

Even in UK, most professors don't have two houses; just one house on mortgage.
I don't know any professors in Nigeria without two houses but the general living conditions of guys in UK is much better.

Most professors in Nigeria have more than two cars but you can hardly see that in UK but the driving conditions and overall conditions is better.

We need to be realistic and focus on very important things

Tinubu never decamped. He was a founding member of AD and when there was crisis in AD, he along other significant and majority members of AD led by Baba Akande formed AC. Tinubu played a significant and major role in formation of AC.

Decamping is moving from one Party to another already existing party.

Obi has never played any role in formation of any party. He is always jumping from one party to another.

GEJ meant well for Nigeria. Many citizens lived well under GEJ. Now, the reverse became the case under APC and is worst now.
Jonathan inherited sound economy but unfortunately his lack of capacity to make decisive decisions made a mess of his government. Nigerians are crazy people and largely driven by self-interest.
Leaders must be in charge and must be bold to make a decisive decisions. Jonathan lacked all these qualities. His weakness gave birth to Buhari.

Buhari on the other hand was also not in charge perhaps due to his illness and knew little about workings of the economy.

Tinubu is the only one so far who I believe is fully in charge of his government and making decisive decisions that are shaping the economy.
He has his flaws as humans, I don't like his politics. But he knows that Nigerians are largely selfish people and so that kind of politicking is needed to retain power.

The constant internal criticism and division among people from the South, especially the Southeast, is one of the major obstacles to achieving collective political goals like the presidency. You rarely see members of APC in the North attacking Atiku or other key figures from their region, regardless of political differences. Yet, from the South, we are often quick to tear our own down publicly.

As for Peter Obi, he represents more than just a politician he is a movement and a symbol of a new political ideology that resonates with many Nigerians. No matter the attacks or misinformation spread about him, he continues to gain support and grow in influence.

Regarding the claim that Obi betrayed Ojukwu there is no clear or credible evidence supporting that narrative. It's important that we focus on facts, unity, and constructive criticism rather than pulling each other down.

If Nigeria ever conducts a truly free and fair election, many believe Obi has what it takes to become president perhaps more than once.

Nigeria is beyond redemption honestly.

The only way for Nigerians to stand a chance with the world again is by peacefully dividing Nigeria using the existing 6-geopolitcal zone as template for 6 new countries but if any region or regions then want to sincerely merge together, they can do so willingly on their own.

With that, Nigerians will get a new name, new nation, new leaders, new values and new passports.

Second alternative is to restructure Nigeria using the 6 geopolitical zones to make 6 independent regions of Nigeria and then change the name from Nigeria to "United Regions of Africa" (URA).

With this, Nigeria will get a new name, new system of government, renewed spirit, new passport and new national policies to set Nigeria on the pathway to communal progress for all

Without this, Nigeria goes no where, sadly angry
Excellent submission!!!

You don't know women...

I had this female staff one time. Normally, one of my personal principles in life and business is never to sleep with or get too close to female subordinates.

But this incident happened that made me break that resolve one time. It was the first time and also the last.

This female staff tried seducing me on many different occasions to sleep with her. She would come to my office and try to kiss me, put my hands on her chest or take off her clothes. I always threw her out of the office. And made her understand I wasn't interested. On hindsight I should have sacked her because she might have tried to implicate me since I wasn't falling.

But I unfortunately tolerated her bad behavior not because I even had the intention of ever doing anything with her.

The other reason I didn't want anything to do with her was because she was sleeping with the manager.

Anyway this February 14th I and my girlfriend who had been having some issues finally broke up. I was so downcast at the time. I am not making up an excuse for my actions that followed... But this girl came to my office as usual, as if on cue. As if she had been observing everything going on and did her seductive act as usual.

This time I kissed her back but gave her my house address and told her to come later in the evening after work. (another of my personal principle is never to have sex in my office space)

This girl came over as agreed and the rest of it is history, right.

Now her actions after that episode changed dramatically. She would talk back at me... In presence of other staffs that used to respect me. She would try to give instructions to other staff that were her superior and many other attitudes.

One of my employees that couldn't look me in the eye previously out of respect he had for me called me one day and told me he was "disappointed in me".

He said literally in summary I "should control my bitch" not his exact words oh... But something like that.

I knew it was time to let her go so I paid her off and let her go.

But things had changed... The atmosphere has been messed up and corrupted. It took quite a while for things to get back as normal.

Anyway I brought that experience up to let you know and understand what women are capable of doing once you start getting too close to them as subordinates.

This experience reinforced my decision to have nothing personal to do with any female working under me.

I don't even smile with them. Smile and they start reading meanings and take you for granted!

That was your own experience, how you want us to believe your side of the story without giving benefits of doubt to this same woman.

There are bad people in both genders. Unfortunately there are more randy and loose men in public and government agencies than Randy men.

I am a man. I believe this woman. You will be surprised that many more people will come out to make similar allegations against this useless senate president.

And unfortunately, it's not peculiar to him, many useless men out there in government offices and Nigeria miss work with pleasure.

Don't comment without watching the video because he's 100% right 👍
There's nothing right in what he said to a true child of God. These are end time teachings simply using human logic to alter divine organogram.

I am a father, on many occasions I have listened to my 8 years old boy on some terms or words or even things I had not known before. The boy is a versatile and voracious reader. Does that mean I should mount the pulpit and be saying obedience between father and children is mutual and two ways. That's utterly nonsense! Bible is clear, children obey your parents and not the other way and yet on many occasions I have listened to my boy because I am wise enough never to argue with superior facts.

Highly placed but wise bosses will listen to their subordinates and accept superior facts, if the business must move forward. This however does not change the organisational structure for flow of authority.

These are end time Pastor!!!

I hate to see these sentiments anytime a rich individual dies.

It's better to die Rich, than to live in penury. After all life is Vanity and Ifeanyi Uba chose his vanity before exiting. Last last everybody go die.
You can choose to hate it but it's bitter reality that it's all vanity. Even the wisest and the richest man that ever lived alluded to the vanity of life. Scriptures also describes our life like a vapour; that tells you something.

No one is saying you shouldn't work hard to be as rich as much as your potentials and skills can carry you, but knowing that all is vanity guides you to run the race with caution and carefulness. You won't pursue riches at the detriment of other people and the country, and finally you won't forget God in all your pursuit, knowing fully well that all the cash, dust and cements of this world will be all left behind.

It's foolishness to run through life without thinking about the inevitable which is death!!!

You are talking rubbish as a typical cunning Yoruba man, that is point one.

Two, your opinion does not matter in the scheme of things, you are just a cunning, wicked, deceptive Yoruba bigot that speak from both side of their mouths.

Three, Peter Obi won 2023 Presidential election and all well meaning Nigerians including the failed Yoruba President Tinubu knows it. That was why INEC stopped uploading 2023 Presidential election polling unit results on irev as Nigerians started bursting the discrepancies.

Four, you can only argue that Peter Obi did not get the required national spread during 2023 Presidential election which is the only point to be argued but when it comes to who got the total highest number of votes cast, it was Peter Obi that won, and if INEC had allowed free fair collation, we would have known if Peter Obi did got the national spread or not.

Five, by now every Yoruba person ought to have wake up from their tribalism and propaganda+ hatred against Igbos after their Messiah Tinubu failed woefully and turned Nigeria to Afghanistan in less than 2 years, but no, you people's wickedness is incomparable and you lots prefer to die wretched than allow good to prevail over evil just because you guys are so tribalostic, envious, wicked and cunning.

Lastly, let me tell you the truth, the only thing still making the rest of Nigerians to regard Yorubas is Lagos state that is like the melting point of Nigeria, take that away, Yoruba don cast, una don turn to a laughing stock with the foisting of your criminal son Tinubu on Nigerians as President.

If Yorubas had enough sense, they ought to be apologizing to Nigerians for producing the worst president in the history of Nigeria after so much noise.

Time will open you wicked people's eyes to the big harm Tinubu did to the entire Yoruba tribe undecided
Look at all these abuse on top sharing opinions on national issues.
Your response only affirmed my position.

Next time, you can address each of the point, counter the point without resulting to abuse.

Honestly, I don't see that coming!

First, Obi did not win 2023 presidential election. How some people are still believing he won beats my imagination.

Second, Obi has lost many of the people that even voted for him from other regions.

Third, North would rather choose to wait for 4 years by voting Tinubu in 2027, than 8 years by voting Obi.

Forth, Obi supporters are not also helping the matter by their intolerance of other people's right to choose whoever they want and practically insulting anyone not supporting their candidate.

I don't see significant changes in all these dynamics that would favor Obi before 2027. Couple with the fact that I expect Nigeria macroeconomic environment to begin to rebound by the first quarter of 2025.

May God help Nigeria!!!
