Thank you Jesus, God will protect and allow Holy Spirit to guide the new convert rightly, uphold them and use them mightily for His work. However, the convert and Deborah family should be more careful because those blood thirsty religion followers may be monitoring those converts to do them harm. Protection of God will be sure over them

EducationRe: Does ASUU Strike Affect Only Students? by PJ123: 6:51am On May 12, 2022
Anaerobi:
No... It affects parents, lectures and many others.
It does not affect lecturers at all.
They can tell you it affects them but the truth is it doesn't affect them. The benefits to them outweigh any effect for those of them that still have children in Nigeria.
How does it benefits them?
They collect salaries for the months they didn't work for.
They have enough time to do research because there are no classes.
They make money from teaching in other schools or other businesses.
The graduate students among them on Msc or PhD have enough time to do their PhD and MSc research.
ASUU is another criminal in university system

The sooner we privatise education and only pay grants and sponsorship to only deserving students the better

Civil servants and Politicians are the same, sucking the ordinary masses is all they do

Multiple salaries by lecturers, Jumbo allowance by Politicians, estacode and travel allowance for useless conferences and workshops

This is actually the only solution to Nigeria tertiary education challenges.
Privatize it, provide scholarships to indigent students and let ASUU be engaging the each governing council of their school.

I dont see any reason why ASUU refuse to comply with IPPS if not to keep earning multiple salaries from different school.

Lecturers and professors too are scams!!! Selling handouts, giving scores, purposefully failing students because of disrespect.

ASUU needs a reorientation
They are part of the rot!

Somewhere in the good book says that nothing happens without God first revealing it to his servants.

How come Kumuyi didn't know about this before it occurred?

Either the Bible is fraud or Kumuyi is fraud!
The Lord will have mercy on your soul and forgive your ignorance.
Pastor Kumuyi is not God. He's a servant of the most high. And no no doubt, the Lord reveals his secret to His servant.

However, when God decides to do otherwise, He remains God and He is sovereign.

Stranger things have happened though, that’s why Buhari is the President of a country of over 220 million people.
As much as I don't like Tinubu, Osinbajo is highly deceptive. Not every critics of Osinbajo is pro-Tinubu
Each candidate can be individually accessed.
I do not support Tinubu because he was part the people that branded Buhari as a saint for his selfish interests. Osinbajo is also not a truthful person and cannot be trusted, he's the number 2 in the current administration that brought current woes to this country.
From his declaration, and if you objectively analyse his speech, you would see lies and deception. The country does not need such a person.

The highest qualification my father has is an O'level certificate but his oral and written English is better than a lot of graduates today.

The Federal government left secondary schools to deteriorate and focused on Universities. They tried to make University education cheaper, where has that brought us?

I laugh when students from Public schools say Private schools are glorified secondary schools. I simply tell them to go and asks HR's of different organizations which is better.
You nailed the point. My father died at 92 and didn't attend university but spoke and wrote better than myself with all the degrees and many bright guys that I know.
The problem is that FG has over funded the university education within the limited available resources at the expense of primary and secondary schools education. It's unfortunate that our technical education is dead and forgotten.
Primary and secondary schools education have higher social benefits to the society than university education. That was simple development economics! University education is not for everyone; whoever is interested should be able to adequately fund it or bright enough to win scholarships!
Give everyone and every child compulsory but quality and sound primary and secondary education, and sound technical education for the interested people.
Whoever wants to proceed to university should be able to pay!
All the noise of ASUU is too much around university education.
Many lecturers cannot speak fluently and write well.

This goverment always behave as if money is not in this country. If it's to send money to their children in abroad, money will start come out from different angles but to settle these lecturers become an uphill task to them. Yeye administration.
ASUU has failed like Nigerian government. They're simply fighting a selfish battle. Don't think they have interest of students at hearts. All sectors of the country are dead. Should all the sectors go on strike? The answer is no! What's happening in the country is a symptom of failed governance as governance in university systems has failed also.
ASUU keep comparing themselves with politicians. They should re-sign to contest an election.
Primary and secondary schools education are more beneficial to the society than university education yet government spend bulk of her budget on university education. That's why many graduates cannot speak fluently and write without correctly.

Universities can not function without funding
Unfortunately the funding does not come from government alone. It comes from the increased school fees, internally generated revenue of Universities, and support from private sector and as well government support.
For your information, it is not only universities that cannot function without funding, nothing in a nation can function without funding.
You can allocate all the funds to the Universities and neglect other important sectors. Even Universities are not the only important aspect of education. Primary and secondary schools are more important. Social benefits of primary and secondary school education are higher to a nation than the University education.
So disturb the noise about university education.
Covenant university graduates are doing superbly well throughout the globe because the students pay for what they're getting.

I feel very sorry and sad for you. You are guilty in many ways it wasn't impulse. You claimed to be well behaved but I doubt it. You won't end up hitting your Mum if you haven't replied her back while she verbally charged at you.

If it was impulse you would quickly prostrate and start begging immediately not that you will free yourself. You might wound her more in the process.

Talking back to your Mum is very bad and that is the genesis of the problem.

Your father being the meek among your parents pushed her into that form. If not for her strong stand you would have end up worst. You Dad created the leadership void that is why she steps in albeit she may over do it but then she is your Mum.

Pray to God for forgiveness and quickly reach out to her for forgiveness.

Go and meet her for forgiveness, she may not accept your plea immediately but hold on to her feet and beg seriously.

May God guide you in getting forgiveness from your Mum.
Beautiful, excellent and godly submission!!!
God bless you greatly in Jesus name

Itohanmiwa:
The only way Nigerian educational system can improve is when we start having teachers who teach for the love of passing knowledge and this holds for all grades and level of educational institution, both from the primary to university level. These sets of lecturers we have now are so greedy that they can do anything to make money, even going as far as compromising their integrity and stooping so low as to collect bribes from student to pass them. I do not trust their motive as i have seen Prof Oorimogunje and Prof Ogunkoya of OAU Geography dept gone on to have very fulfilling careers and these two Profs you can tell are into it for the love of it. Since the advent of yahoo boys with cars on campus these lecturers have taken to persistent strike actions in a bid to force government to meet their demands and i can't help but wonder if they are trying to compete with these yahoo boys? If these lecturers think at all, they will know the country is in shambles right now economically and government meeting their demands at once will further plunge the country into untold hardship with the current increment in nearly all commodities by greedy Nigerians. ASUU should just call of it's strike action and dialogue with federal gov't as they can't bully Buhari into meeting their senseless demands. Before you criticize me go to any institution seek out 10 lecturers and ask them how they truly feel about the strike and you will find out at least 1 doesn't support the strike because they miss teaching. The students are the ones affected here not Federal Government.
Most sensible comment! Don't mind them they behave as if University Lecturers are the only people in the country. They should because of them not build on the infrastructure. Selfish people!

If not, why is any Nigerian still listening to OBj let alone praise his hypocritical utterances?
I think you missed the point. While I'm not a fan of any Nigerian politician, I think you can objectively look at the message with little regard to his character or person. They're all failure all together. But the message is cogent and timely if we want to forge ahead as a nation. Nigeria is fast gravitating towards total collapse.
People I never thought could leave their highly well paying jobs have all deserted the country.
So the message is timely though the messenger may not be perfect.

Nigerians like you feel that without a University education they will die poor or they won't breath well.

I have seen University graduates that cannot write properly or speak good English. The fault of this category of people is not the Universities they attended, it is the Primary and Secondary schools they attended.

How can someone survive in this era if they can't write or speak well?

We lay too much emphasis on University education in Nigeria.

This has led to so many half baked graduates chasing non-existent jobs.

The cheapness of this Universities has reduced the quality of Education.

For how long will ASUU keep going on strike?

Do you know why on most vacancies you see things like "with 5 years experience"?

It's because a lot of Nigerian graduates are low quality, you cannot employ them straight out of college.

University Education in Nigeria is too cheap.

Nigerians will complain that ₦70,000 is too expensive to pay for University education but go to Ghana or Benin Republic and pay from ₦300,000 and above.
God bless you brother.
You're just on point. I have been privileged to meet Professors outside Nigeria. You can hardly see anyone with more than one car or one house. All the professors I know in Nigeria have more than two cars and two houses.
I don't understand; they keep comparing themselves with politicians and I keep telling them resign and go and contest.

The best thing any government that wants to end this ASUU strike menace is to allow Universities function without too much input from the Federal Government.

Allow them to set any price they want as school fees.

Obviously, the price of school fee will go up. The government can then offer loans to students that qualify

Quality education is expensive and tertiary education is not for everyone.

What has Nigeria gained with all the thousands of graduates and PHD holders?

Primary and Secondary education is compulsory (could be free sef).

Anybody that wants tertiary education should pay the full price abeg.
This is has always been my position. And this is the only permanent solution to end ASUU strike.
University Lecturers are not the only people suffering in Nigeria. Teachers in primary and secondary schools are suffering. As a matter of fact everyone is affected. The roads are in terrible state, health sector is in commatose. All our emergency services are dead. Yet ASUU keep comparing themselves with politicians.
You can resign and go through the rigour of winning an election in insane society.

Government should have little to do with University education, let each university looks inward and charge any fee they want while as well responsible for payment of salaries.
Government should provide loans to indigent students and financial aid in form of scholarship to bright students.

It is very wrong for any parastatal in Nigeria to earn more than the academia, because, it supplies the human capital to run these other parastatals.
That's a very wrong premise and a very spurious conclusion. We could as well say it's very wrong for University Lecturers to earn more than primary school teachers because they laid the foundation for pupils at very difficult ages. Without their foundation, University Lecturers cannot do anything.

Meanwhile, throughout the world, people in industry earn significantly more than lecturers. If you want to earn as much as people in industry, you quit and go to the industry.

Unfortunately and interestingly, you cannot even compare the impacts and the knowledge of a Professor with 5 publications in US with many professors with several publications in Nigeria.
The emphasis in Nigeria is on quantity with zero discoveries and no impact. While the emphasis in sane societies is on impacts and quality.

Please let's have the number of papers, articles, books and research written or carried out by Patami that could deserve being awarded the position of Professor of such a prestigious university.
These academic works are usually published in local and international journals. Without proof of 80 of these research work then the man is not qualified.... Simple.
No university in Nigeria requires more than 25 publications before being appointed a professor.
Most professors I know in first generational universities (OAU,UI Unilag and co) didn't have more than 20 publications before being appointed.
But keep writing and their publications keep increasing even after becoming Profs.
ASUU doesn't have the right to declare professorship of another person illegal. That's insubordination. If they have issues with it, they should sue the Appointment body of the University that appointed him.
It's not within their functions to accept or reject appointment of someone as Prof. If there are issues with it, there's a body that has been saddled with the function of appointment of professor, you sue the body. That's sane thing I expect from the so called intellectuals.
A PhD holder cannot declare the PhD given to another person illegal because the PhD thesis lacks quality.
