Before I got to funnab from lagos yesteday was almost late. I got there by 3pm(they close office by 4pm) then trekked down to COLMAS(believe me that COLMAS building location was just too far fom the main gate and its like an outskirtch of funaab. it took me like 25mins jogging Down there.#sweating seriously -all ma cloth got soaked up.) then I went to Eco dept and after that I went to acct depart too. I was then told by the guys in eco dept to quickly go change my course @ the ICT that I have 19munites to get there before they close for the workday.

Then I hurriedly Jogged to meet the guys @ the senate first then asked them my question then was directed to go the the other building where ICT office is. When i got to where the ICT guys office, they had all carried their bags to leave the office. I stood there looking at them to excuse me a minute to even hear what i came to do but they were just chatting among themselves, carrying their bags off the office, leaving me alone in the office wondering how i will come from lagos to abeokuta to be disappointed. Then suddenly one guy just came into the office, asked me young man what do you want and i explained to him I need to make a correction of a course (at that point all other questions I would have loved to ask skipped my mind).

Then he collected my slip and gave me back, then said go online and refill.. #Thanking God mood and also appreciating you for the eye opener. If you had not asked me earlier would i have known? nope. Thanks again!

But something got me angry @ funnab yesteday. I went to accounting department if they accept ICAN (institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) certificate for DE 200L into their accounting Dept. The man I saw there didnt respond with certainty (Was kind of YEs,No statement.) but said i should go to the senate to confirm. so i went to the senate office (Senate admission and inquires) so they also said no latter the guy said yes when i told him that the person had submitted his transcript and was accepted. So now am not even sure of the chances of this my brother that submitted ICAN Transcript to be used as a direct entry certification for Funaab Accounting Admission?

According to what a staff i met at the ECO department which letter called(phone call) the HOD right in front of me to confirm what he is telling me, he said their economics department does'nt accept ND for their 3 years program. they only accept HND and must be in Economics.

Though have left Unaab! But wait is it ND in statistics or HND so I can relate what they said in that regard or close to it. And besides I actually went to dept of economics to enquire.

You saw a LAPTOP for 97K. You didn't have the cash, so you borrowed 50Kfrom ur mom & 50K from ur dad = 100K. You bought the LAPTOP & had 3Kchange. You gave ur dad 1K & ur mum 1K & kept the other 1K for urself. Now you owe ur mum 49K & ur dad 49K.
Now 49K + 49K = 98K + ur 1K = 99k.
Where is the missing 1K?

This is it. He(Akpos) had no money in the first place. The missing one is not supposed to be added but subtracted. Making 98k - 1K = 97. There is no missing one. U need to subtract the figures not adding it to know there shouldn't be any missing one.
Because akpors returned 2k and held 1k for him self. Since he gave out 2k the total amount his owing the parents droped to 98k. Now if he returns the 1k the total amount his now owing the parents is 97k (so divide 97 by 2 and u will get 48.5 each, adding it up and that will give u the actual cost of the laptop ) That means he paid back 1.5k each to the parents.)

Another way to go around it is this.
Let's assume akpors is an entity seperate from him self. The entity borrowed 100k from 2 different people @50k each to get something which latter worth 97k, the remaining change of 3k was now giving back 1k each to the 2 people he owed (50-1=49, 50-1=49) But he gave(lend) someone else the remaining 1k to hold for him. Loooking at this logically, akpors has a 1k possitive advantage(because someone is holding is money) and 98k negative disadvantage (because he is still owing 2 people '49' '49' k)

So the fomular should be: -49k - 49k + 1k = -97k ..

{ Note akpors had no money initially. So he likely returned 1.5k each to the parents making their owing balance remain -48.5 - 48.5 = - 97. }

Thanks Temicare, I went to Funaab today for more enquiries and correction. The guys in the Economics department said their department doesn't accept any ND including (accounting, b.admin, banking n finance etc) for their 3years course period. But the guys in the accounting department said they do accept Nd in accounting for a 3years degree in accounting only. ..So I now hurriedly went to correct the economics I had once chosen back to accounting @ the ICT. ..




But I know Uniben accept accounting for Economics because one of my neighbors just did last year and he got admission.

Just came in from Unaab now.. Gasping really hard. Omo this guys no go kill person!

I wannted to know, is there anything wrong if I qucikly run to fuunab ICT and effect the change of course without effecting the change of course in jamb too? Would that affect me in the screening?

Econs does nt accept OND all over Nigeria's universities. D same also happen to my frnds dat chose unilorin lastyr. Pls go dere so u dnt waste ur slot. May God help us all....

FUNAAB does accept ND in business admin into her own business admin BUT UNILORIN only accepts A'level into her own business admin. What can u say abt that?

Every sch has its own policy, u should have asked.

Because I wanted to be ABSOLUTELY sure, I visited the office of the HOD for ECO in FUNAAB. Just as I did in UI and UNILORIN.

It is always good to confirm from the right source ( mainly at the DEPARTMENT cos admin only knows the general info and what we find online sometimes might nt be correct or probably outdated. For instance, u can find it on UI web that the sch accepts 2 O'level sittings but when u go to some departments there such as ELECT/ELECT, they will tell u that their department will not accept that and that admin only has general info).

Despite the fact that I have lotta friends, mostly my childhood frds at FUNAAB, I still went down there, just to be rightly sure.

Bros is it correctable able na editable. And the problem now is that I choose economics first choice and second choice.. How do I correct this? Rooommmm

Ordinarily,Photocopies of one's Result/transcript is submitted by applicant to JAMB, Stamped & sent to the Respected Varsity for Documentation by Jamb.

Funaab wahala Too Much! Asking Student to send Transcript when Jamb has Already sent them Copy of such.
I've done mine,so do Urs.

What is this man saying. Did you send your transcript to jamb when they didn't ask for it? I don't knw where u got this info from. Because I am very sure while submitting jamb DE form, was only asked to come along with photocopy of waec result.

There's no two-way abt it, I MUST bag BSC award. Even if it has to be through part-time, I don't give a damn.

While it's indisputable that HND graduates are very much okay as they pass through baptism of HELL before been awarded HND certificate, it's quite unfortunate that the GOVT is not responsible enough to sketch out EFFECTIVE plans to make HND graduates relevant in our society.

Come to think of it, HND graduates are required to have a minimum of FOUR/FIVE years of experience after graduation to be qualified to apply for Master Degree. This is absolutely unfair but when u ask them on the television, they will say that they're working on it, of which it's not so in reality.

Furthering of ones EDUCATION in foreign country is easier than HND except in EUROPE.

I hereby urge us to CRITICALLY examine this ISSUE.

I have calculated my risk before choosing FUNAAB and the downturn is low, so am confidently sure that I will share admission testimony on here just like u will also do.
