KingAzubuike: That's the funny thing I hear people spill out. Fact that they bear Nigerians names doesn't mean they are Nigerians. Their ancestors and forefathers might be but they were born ,bred and hold an American citizenship. So the best you can say is american woman/man with Nigerian background etc . You can't even be a foreigner and enlist in the U.S military. Even Hakeem Oluseyi the NASA scientist someone was arguing with me he was a Nigerian I was like wtf . Hakeem Oluseyi has never even stepped his foot on Africa before. Not true that a foreigner cannot enlist in the US military, there are lots of foreigners who are active duty members of the armed forces. Maybe in certain occupational specialties like intelligence you have to be a US citizen. If you read her bio it says she migrated to the US just in 2012, try to read before embarassing yourself. |

ShyWhale: This life ehn. We've got Nigerian students from Canada come to Germany because of lack of skilled opportunities. They say there is discrimination on lack of Canadian degrees and Canadian experience. Also, honest reviews from Quora don't help. It seems many skilled migrants in Canada are also trapped in these same unskilled jobs.
I would have gone to Canada long ago if not for that. I felt the money to be wasted on the processing of the Canadian PR to go get unskilled jobs could be better channelled to my business projects in Nigeria. Canada's PR Express entry is nothing but a smart move by the Canadian government to attract skilled immigrants from around the world to do jobs white Canadians will not do. They figured out that a highly skilled and educated immigrant doing menial jobs is good for the country social cohesion and they are less likely to turn to crime or become a burden on the society because of their exposure unlike the US immigration system that takes all and sundry. Basically it's nothing but a scam even though some immigrants might break through the glass ceiling but majority wouldn't. |

dominique: You live a country where a lot of innocent black people have been senselessly killed by their predominantly Caucasian police and you went on to charge at them with a knife? Sorry you killed yourself. How do you really know he charged at them with a knife, I really don't think Nigerians know how corrupt American police really are and how much they lie and plant evidence on suspects, Why I laugh at naive comments on NL about how great American police and justice system is, maybe for whites but definitily not for blacks ask the black Americans they will tell you. |

ysmd: Well what works for A might not for B. Canada is good but very soon he will realize there is actually no perfect place. When it comes to security Canada also has it shares of gun violence. The job market here in Canada is tough and as competitive as the job market in Lagos the only thing is there is dignity of labour here hence people settle for survival jobs to pay bills. Survival job is good o bt as Nigerians we are well read and love professional jobs . Sooner or later you start to tell yourself am better than this and then regrets sets in.
But like i said different strokes mehn. If you are the type of person who loves to do the same thing every day, good road, electricity , boring life , predictable life Canada works just fine.
But if you are the type of person who looks forward to the challenges of each day then Nigeria is for you.
When i compare both having worked both professionally in Canada and Lagos, i choose Lagos.
The best you can do is give your kids that other option. Educate them, most of this people posting comments have never been out of this country. All they know about this Canada is basically hearsay. |

Talking of health issues in Nigeria, you people are talking out of ignorance and lack of knowledge. I personally know three people who relocated to the US but are now dead from heart failure, stroke due to the diet and stress of living in Western country.
