OLAADEGBU:

The Son Is God:

Jesus is also explicitly called "God" in scripture (Titus 2:13; Heb.1:8.). And He, too, has all the attributes of deity – including being everywhere-present (Matthew 28:20), all-knowing (Matthew 9:4), all-powerful (Matthew 28:18), holy (Acts 3:14), and eternal (Revelation 1:8, 17).
The verse on Red you qouted talks about Jesus knowing thier thoughts, thier approach alone was enough for him to know thier thoughts towards him.
This does not says he knows all. Your claim contradicts the verse i present below. Jesus himself told us that He do "not know all" as you claim.

Mark 13:32 "But of that day and that hour ((knows no man, no, not the angels who are in heaven, neither the Son, but the "Father". Bros please clear this for me. Thanks.
Christianity Etc › Re: Scientists Confirm The Signs Of God by plappville(f): 8:15am On Sep 17, 2012
We do not need Science to confirm God Existance. Because God's word is not a science book. Before Science God has been. In John 10:25, Jesus said "the scriptures cannot be broken". So whats the big deal of their confirmation?  We need to remember that man cannot make a "law of science". Man cannot enforce a "law of science" but we can only OBSERVE the laws that God designed into our universe! Men may Try as hard as they can, but they cannot disprove the Scriptures.

1 timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to your trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.

Christianity Etc › Re: Did God Forgive Those That Crucified Jesus? by plappville(f): 11:17pm On Sep 16, 2012
plaetton: According to the gospels, shortly before his death on the cross, Jesus asked god to forgive those that crucified him because they did not know what they were doing.

In typical fashion, christians are always quick to make reference to this act of forgiveness.
But when I think about this, I am puzzled by its broader implications.

So, do you really think that god forgave those that crucified Jesus?
1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us

It is Gods will for us to be forgiven of our sins. When Jesus asked God to forgive them, sure God will listen to Him, that is, He will forgive them if they realise they have sinned, but if they don't but continue in sin, that forgiveness will be cancelled.

frosbel: Thank you for your good explanation.

Also , remember the Father always spoke through Jesus and therefore we can infer that because Jesus is the WORD of GDO breathed or brought into being by the Spirit , then the very words he spoke were as from God himself.

"Jesus answered, "My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me." - John 7:16
My brother, I NOTE THAT. I humble to learn things i do not know, it is wrong to claim to know everything in the scripture. someone who attempt to prove that is doing the greates mistake.

1 Corinthians 4:6 I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Wonderful Truth Of The Trinity by plappville(f): 10:42pm On Sep 16, 2012
Some contributing verses plainly point Jesus as the Son of God, and not "God" Himself. We first take a look at:

John 14:28 "You heard that I said to you, 'I go away, and I will come to you' If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.""Greater", as in more powerful. "ONE" thing can't be greater than itself. God, Jesus = 1, this same ONE is greater than itself? Greater can be used when two involve.

(Jesus wanting to know who the people and His disciples think he is)[/b]Matthew 16:15-16 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (Christ own disciples knew that He was not "God" himself. They knew him to be a separate being in relation to the Almighty God.)

Again in John 20:17) Jesus appeared befor Mary Magdalene, "Jesus said to her: 'Stop clinging to me.For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God'."
Clearly, Jesus told Mary that when he returned to heaven, he would be retrning to the God that "they" worshipped and that [/b]"HE"[/b] worshipped as well. Jesus and his followers worshipped the same GOD. This demonstration proved that Jesus himself is NOT God.) God will not worship or pray to Himself.

Mark 13:32 "But of that day and that hour knows no man, no, not the angels who are in heaven, neither the Son, but the "Father".
If Jesus is God, He will not use this speech.

In Mark 5:7, the event of Jesus encounterin a demon-possessed man who lived among the caves and memorial tombs. Note: what the demons said when Jesus came closer: Mark 5:7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” Again, i hope you take note that the demons, whom are enemies of God and Jesus, fully acknowledged the fact that Jesus is "God's Son" and NOT that Jesus was God himself. Lets Ask ourselves.....if the demons, who had once been angels in heaven in Jesus and God's presence, will acknowledge the fact that Jesus and God are not the same, how can anyone else contradict that? The truth may be inconvenient to those who hold a different belief, but it is still the truth.

[The Work of the Holy Spirit]
John 15:26 When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf.

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

God's word says once we receive this spirit we will understand God and things of God. So one who does not understand does not have this spirit we are to receive.

brainpulse: John 8:58 - Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

If he was 100% man then how come he existed before abraham that was long dead before his arrival.
Very good question, with this verse, it appears that Jesus claimed to have existed before He was born. I took a look at this other verse that proved his claim also; (John 17:5) "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began."

But this claims are not boldly saying Jesus is God, but it just prove that He has been in existance right from "au debut" du monde.

I believe that, Everyone who love God will love to know God better than how he/she was told. But it takes the Holy spirit to reveal things to US, not by gra gra or by my pastor say na so etc... Certain Christians are stuck with thier church doctrine, even if they are reproof of been indulged in tradition, they will not want to come out of it. This might be the position they hold in their church. But if we truely love Christ we must let go whatever that is false in his doctrine.

2 timothy 3:16 Every Scripture passage is inspired by God. All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God's approval.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

Do you mean God died for 3 good days and Satan kept quite? No God was not dead. He Gave us His son to die for us. And rose Him from the Dead. The Trinity will Say that Jesus is God. Christianity Etc › Re: Some Women Are Not Findable by plappville(f): 12:56pm On Sep 15, 2012
uchkochi: HE THAT FINDS A WIFE, FINDS A GOOD THING AND OBTAINS FAVOUR FROM THE LORD. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MAN TO FIND AND IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WOMAN TO BE FOUND.The woman have to be findable. This message is intended in teaching a woman how to be findable so that she can be found.

He that finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favour from the LORD. Proverbs 18:22. The bible says He that finds a wife, not a girl or a lady but a WIFE. The bible calls a woman a wife even before she marries. This implies that wives are easily found, it is wives that are findable. It is the responsiblity of the woman to train herself to becoming a wife even before she gets married. The outward appearance of a woman is not what makes her a wife, it is the content of her mindset that makes her
a wife. Real men identifies a WIFE when they see one. Husbands recognises wives when they see one. Wives are responsible, they are purposeful, they don't move around, they are findable. If a wife is not in a relationship you will know, when she is you will know, because she is committed. She is not confused about who to marry, she knows who to marry.

It is time for women to know how to position themselves so that they can be found, the earlier they do so, the better. A man can find even at 50, but a woman has a particular time when she could easily be found. Many highly placed, affluent unmarried ladies are making themselves unfindable. This has nothing to do with their wealth or position but it has to do with their mindset and their attitude. For instance, where do you find them, they are always in high places, you cannot see them in ordinary places, what if her husband happen to always visit the ordinary places most of the time. They tend to attract men of their status and class who may not be their husbands, they need to slow down, How can a woman that does not leave the house be found? how can a woman that is so busy with her career and does not have time to go to the right places be found? God brought Eve to Adam in the garden, there was a meeting spot. A lady that is always seen with men(ordinary friends) is not making herself findable. A lady that cannot take herself out sometimes is not making herself findable. For a woman to be findable she must always treat and carry herself as a wife. A wife dresses smart, good and not seductive. A wife fears God. A wife starts praying for her husband even when he has not found her. A wife is lovely and a help-meet indeed. When a woman is findable she will easily be found by her husband. Delay in marriage most times is not the devil, but ignorance, the devil only takes advantage of the ignorant. Finally as I begin to round up, A WIFE IS DOWN TO EARTH NO MATTER WHAT SHE HAS OR DOES NOT HAVE. It is my prayer that things becomes easy for anyone reading this message through KNOWLEDGE IN JESUS PRECIOUS NAME. BB PIN IS 21322745.

danwo: ^^^

All are called without discrimination

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest

Let your women keep silence in the churches?:
for it is not permitted unto them to speak;
but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law

- 1 Corinthians 14:34 KJV

1 Corinthians 14:34 quoted above is another scripture apart from 1 Timothy 2:8-15
quoted below ruined by the ill-informed

8I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
9In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety;
not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the
man
, but to be in silence.
13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing,
if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

- 1 Timothy 2:8-15 KJV
1 Corinthians 14:34 is a glaring and obvious rebutting where Paul was repeating the ridiculous the "Pharisees" were implying.

The legalists were hiding behind a synagogue law that women should be silent in church.

1 Timothy 2:8-15 is interesting on its own too. The cherry picking is nauseating.

If living by verses, then curiously, how much of 1 Timothy 2:8-15 is lived by?

1 Timothy 2:8 makes one wonder how many "men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting"

How many men live by verse 8? Pfftt.

Anyway, 1 Timothy 2:9-15 initially set off with "women" (i.e. women in general)

then at verse 11 got toned down to "woman" (i.e. a matrimonial woman)

The dynamics in verses 9-10 were seen suitable or appropriate and so advised the former (i.e. "women")

Verses 11-12 however are altogether a different story and matter

(i.e. verses 11-12 was an "opportunity-to-add" moment to include the woman (i.e.
the matrimonial woman) in Paul's letter/discussion)

Where verses 9-10 were advised for a general setup, gathering or church context,

verses 11-12 was written with a matrimonial arrangement in mind.

This is evident where hinted that the woman (i.e. the matrimonial woman) should not usurp authority over the man (i.e. the matrimonial man)

It is important to note that Paul deliberately did not write "the women" but wrote "the woman"

"Usurp authority over the man" is actually about a past event which would have been unnecessary if the correct conduct was followed

Paul was advising that the woman (i.e. the matrimonial woman) could learn from another woman's mistake; Eve's (i.e. an earlier matrimonial woman)

The woman; Eve did not "learn in silence with all subjection"

Without authority or right, the woman; Eve

took the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil and gave the man; Adam

and the man; Adam allowed the woman (i.e. Eve, his wife) to teach him eat the fruit.

Verses 11-12 are about the woman in a Godly home and not about women or the woman in a large group, corporate, world etc setting.
Good point, i saw that !!!
Christianity Etc › Re: A Pastor Wrote This To Me...... by plappville(op): 11:39pm On Sep 14, 2012
okeyxyz: Some bible references:
1 Timothy 2:1-14, 1 Cor 11:3-16, 1 Cor 14:34-35

All speak about women yielding spiritual authority to men. Spiritual authority is not really about following doctrine because anybody can follow knowlegde/instruction, but it's more about making doctrine as it fits the time and circumstances. Anybody who assumes this position has to be able to exercise an independent, dominant mind besides following the spirit, He has to be able to decide when to apply a spiritual principle/message and when to disregard them, in other words he needs to exercise control over the spirit rather than being lead blindly by it. Now the male gender having the more logical/crafty mind is
naturally built for this role unlike the female which is more emotional/sentimental/pliable.
This is why i believe god does not hold the woman responsible in a congregation with men, the men must answer to god. If you remember the story of adam & eve, you'd
recall that eve did eat the "forbidden fruit" first but it was as if nothing happened, as if it didn't matter. But when adam took the same "fruit", that was when "all hell broke loose".
I hope this brief illustration paints the picture. cheesy I can respond to further questions.
Thank you ma Broda, But the way i understand 1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep "silent" in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to "speak"; and in  1 Corinthians 14:35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is "disgraceful" for a woman to speak in the church. (What about when a Woman's husband is not a Christian? And beside Paul didnt say its a "Sin" for a woman to "Speak"wink It appears that His instructions on women's roles in the church were written to mediate disagreement in individual churches and were cultural in nature. It seems Pauls main purpose was to have harmony within the body not to give a blanket instruction as to women's role in the church. See : Galatians 3:28, “In Christ now there is neither bond nor free, Scythian nor Barbarian, "male nor female"; all are one in Christ Jesus.” Mary Magdalene was the first to see Jesus. Why did Jesus appear to a woman first? He also spoke to the Samaritan women at the "well" and women then had to be accompanied by a male chaperone but she spoke assertively to Jesus who gave her a "drink of Living Water". Isn't this a symbolic of women's place in the church? I think Jesus death has set women free. The gift of the Holy spirit is given to both man and woman. If the bible really does restrict women from teaching in church, then it also restricts women from speaking in church. Because To be "SILENT" means, do not talk, just "LISTEN" I see no reason why women in the church today hold duties like teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, usher, children bible teacher or even the phone answering. This means the church is not consistant. The truth is that, both men and women in the New Testament were given the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT. This is what makes the NT a New Testament rather than the OT in which women did not have such privileges. His conversation with the Samaritan women at the "well" which was not permitted in the OT law. He was first seen by a woman when he Ressurected. It's up to God to judge because He uses women in the old testament to teach his Word to "everyone" (including men). According to the bible, Deborah even went to war with a man because He refused to go without her. Scripture says she "taught" the children of Israel as well as "judged" them. My question is, If God wants to use a woman to get His word across, then who are we to say He can't? When Christ was born into the world scene woman were considered little or something to be bought and sold. They were considered incapable of learning theological or spiritual truth. Take For example,t he Jewish Talmud (discussions on the Law) stated that it was better to burn the Torah (Law) than to teach it to a woman. It was no longer thesame when Christ came.

Jesus spent time with women (John 4, Luke 10:38-42) and ministered with them in His company (Luke 8:1-3). In contrast to other men in His days who would not even allow women to count change in their hands for fear of physical contact, He allowed women to touch Him, see (Mark 5:25-34, Luke 7:36-50) and He touched them (Luke 13:10-13). Thus Jesus elevated women to a position they had not previously held. But He did not exalt them to positions of leadership over men. Preaching the gospel to someone or a group does not make one a leader over Them.

The book of Acts 21:9 also told us about the four daughters of Philip who prophesied. This means they were teachers of God's work" along with thier Father, These women, like all other Christian men and women of their time, received their authority to do God's work directly from Jesus Christ. The four daughters of Philip were already recognized preachers when Paul and those who accompanied him came through the port city of Caesarea. "And on the next day we departed and came to Caesarea; and entering the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, we stayed with him. Now this man had four virgin daughters who were prophetesses". (Acts 21:8-9) Romans 16:3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: (This verse does not sound like the female figure was silent, rather, It tells us she supported in the work of Christ.)

Acts 18:18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow. (This couple were with Paul.

Acts 18:26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and "explained to him the way of God more adequately". (It says "they" which means, the husband and the wife) By "Grace" we all have dominion which is authourity in Christ to do the work of God. Grace means I do not qualify, but i can have it. Its unmerited favour. So, i believe Paul did not mean to say that a woman should not Operates at all in the church "silent", but that they should be moderate and not taking authorities in thier hands. Be it Man or woman, when one is not called to preach/teach, He/she is a deciever. My conclusion is that, the Gift of the Holy Spirit is for both man and woman.
Christianity Etc › Re: Clear Me On This Pls by plappville(f): 8:31am On Sep 14, 2012
okeyxyz: @ATMC, It is a spiritual principle that has just carried on to the physical, but it's true significance is in it's spiritual impact. The head is the seat of authority and will, so a woman covering her head either with long hair or head-cover signifies that she is deferring to the man, she has no "authority" of her own. This is why societies are naturally patriarchal and it's values defined by men. She is the glory of the man means she "empowers" him & brings him wealth/fruits/reputation. You can rate the "statue" of a man by the women around him. Therefore the manner of women in a society is a testimony("glory"wink of the values of it's men. This is why a woman should not be an apostle, prophet, evangelist, teacher & pastor to decide spiritual rules. Anybody who does otherwise is simply practicing false doctrine.

He goes ahead to say 4ck the jewish laws, you are saved by grace and not by work, for you get to commit sin by knowing the laws, the Jewish laws of course. He says 4uck these laws, Jesus abolished it but then, those greedy church fathers with an intention to cheat, decieve and control people en mass go around cherry picking from these same laws they once taught to their congregation is abrogated, dismissed, wiped clean, discarded and so on,
on the cross of calvary like they claim. Judaic laws like tithing for the Levites and its hig

not part of the law that christ got murdered for since it will reduce monies from entering the church coffers giving that sabbath day is when every rogue, pretender and jerk goes

have to be circumvented, there has to be a way to keep quoting the Jewish prophet, Malachi to get these congregational goons to keep donating the millions to the pastor's bossom.

Ptolomeus: Wise words.

2. I'm not God, so do not rest on Saturdays. mitate what God supposedly did is an insult.

JeSoul: Me I just want to say hi to my sister Plappville smiley

ps. the pastor probably means well but he is misguided.
Thank you ma sista, i am doing fine thanks thanks for checking on me.
Ur type no many for NL oo LOLOSsS. He is not so clear with his message. I asked him what are the roles of women in the body of Christ then, i felt i have not been doing the right thing. I am not suposed to preach to others because i am a woman. This is where the whole story start from.

okeyxyz: Women cannot hold spiritual authority in church. Cannot be Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Bishops. Please note that gift of prophesy is different from the office of prophesy. Also note my emphasis on "spiritual", so I'm not saying women cannot perform other management or technical or higher disciplines like their male counterparts.
I appreciate ur comment, but can you please qoute out biblical verse/verses to back it up. Thank you.

CrazyMan: Acts 8:18-22.  When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money 19 and said, "Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."

20 Peter answered: "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! 21 You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. 22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that
he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart.

From the passage above, any pastor that asks you for money isn't a child of God. Jesus and his disciples
made sure they lived an exemplary life so we might follow in their footsteps.
Therefore flee from such people...cos they're lovers of money and not of God.
GBAMMMM!!!!!! Correct one!!!

Ifyx: Wøw,different views..døn't knøw which 1 2 believe
Hehehehe...why are u confused? See reason to @Joagbaje's poste. You will agree with me that they all had thier earrings, yet God too them out of Egypt. He didnt look at thier outfit, but heard thier heart when they cried to him. Gold was never condernmed in the bible. However, it may be something some fellow may see as thier God. Do not allow urself to be influenced by material things. This may be sinful because the bible say. "Any wrong doing is a sin".

You have problem to know which voice is that?
All you need do is keep praying, do not listen to such voice. Search ur heart make sure u are not walking half with God and half with Satan (two face knife) if not you must not relent or giveup.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you
