Respect all,
i registered for GRE at BY Mafit Educational Centre at ikeja for a date in december, and they went to book me 6 days after the day i filled in wthout my consent!and the present date will be too late for my purpose, presently iam furious and i have called them and they told me the date i chose which is dec 30 is filled having registered with BY mafit for close to 2 weeks now!,that they have to reschedule me for the next date WITHOUT MY CONSENT untill i seee the registration e mail from ETS.

Im so bitter about this and my experience with their staff has been unprofessional, and i use this opportunity to tell the general public to beware of this agency!
House please kindly advice me on what to do !!!!

Respect house,
I'm in dilemma
Should i write Dec 4 GRE or Dec 30th.
The closing date for submission of supporting documents in the school I applied to is Jan 10.

If I write DEC 4 that means I have one week to prepare

If I write DEC 30th wouldn't it be too late cos closing date is Jan 10th

Visa Approved! Right now, I'm so excited, thank you Jesus, thanks to everyone in this thread. I learnt more than enough here.

I got to the embassy some minutes before 6:30AM, I was surprised at the numbers of people I already met there, it was a bit crowdy. Someone told me last night about the hustlers around the embassy telling you print unnecessary documents from them so I was just walking with a straight face, I no even give anyone eyes

Interview 7:00AM Lagos
Me- Good morning sir
VO- Good morning, can I have your documents?
Me- Sure, I passed it to him
VO- Why are you going to the US?
Me- I'm going to the US to study my undergraduate degree in Accounting at Southern Arkansas University which I'll study for the duration of 48 months
VO- How many schools did you applied to?
Me- 3 schools, Dixie state University, Southern Arkansas university and University of Indianapolis
VO- And you were admitted to all?
Me- No, I was to Southern Arkansas and Dixie state university, University of Indianapolis denied me
VO- Why SAU?
Me- I chosed this school because it has a corporative and experiental educational program which integrates classroom experience into real life world connecting me with the experts in my field of study and also it has a structured curriculum which aligns with my career aspiration with the aim of developing me with the technical, analytical and concepted skills to become a globally attuned leader in my profession ( the VO was just typing and not looking at me)
VO- Why Accounting( stopped typing and looking at me)
Me- Accounting opens a world of possibilities in the job markets, every business either large or small needs accountants to summarize the company operation and communicate it to decision makers, I chose to study accounting so as to learn about the different functions of firms with the aim of developing me with the technical, analytical and concepted skills to become a globally attuned leader in my profession
VO- What is Accounting( still looking at me)
Me- Accounting is the systematic process of identifying, recording, measuring, classifying, verifying, interpreting and communicating financial information.
VO- What have you been doing since you finished high school( continued typing)
Me- After my high school, I went for my National diploma in Accounting at laspotech from 2012-2015 and after that, I went for my Industrial training from 2015-2016 after which I got a job at Vicagu Nigeria limited where I make sure that bookkeeping transactions that goes in and out of the company are monitored and well kept
VO- Do you have anyone in the US
Me-No, I don't
Vo- Are you married
Me-No, I'm not
VO- What will this degree do for you?
Me- It will give me the knowledge to introduce the modern experience of my profession into the industry in order to contribute to the industrial development in my country
VO- Who's your sponsor
Me- My uncle
VO- What does he do
Me- He's a real estate agent who buys and sells properties
VO- typed for like 20 secs
VO- I will be approving your visa( when people say they go deaf at this part, Na true o) I literally went deaf

Toomuchsauce, I read your transcript last night when you talked about chewing gum to ease tension, I rushed outside go buy gum straight ni grin and I think it worked, thanks baba. My guys at God's own scholar who kept assuring me that it will end well, Hushy, Thacokeboy, Pamela, Dannyfrank, Matti, Chapecoense, Femi, Alexandersherif and every other person, I really appreciate it and I know I will be reading your approved transcript soon

Thank you ma.
Most appreciated.
LagosismyHome:

I prefer F1 because with F1 there no requirement to leave the country after the program if you want to later switch to h1b or aos

But j1 you have to give back to your home country or outside the US. So it usually come with a requirement of 2 years home country post graduation . Also there is a 12 Month Bar After Previous J-1 Participation .. That too I don't like that limitations

I am not saying which is better but what i prefer

Respect Ma.
Kindly suggest to me any of those cheapest schools.
I will be glad to apply.
Thanks

LagosismyHome:

Depending on your plans.....if you need the masters or phd just as a stepping stone to later move on to residency for me ooo.... there no need paying that money for ivy league . I go to the cheapest school as most people i have seen with that plan never end up using the degree
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by platypelloid: 7:21am On Nov 20, 2017
Respect Sir,
Baba i beg kindly recommend some of these schools that have these features to me.as in im also a doc looking out for such.

Your Supremacy Sir!!
TWoods:

I beg to differ. As a doc, he has plenty of opportunities. He can get into molecular biology, translational medicine, pathology, pharmacology, epidemiology and public health... phd programs in top tier schools here. He is almost guaranteed to get 100% fellowships (once accepted, you get a free ride to school and get paid at least $28,000 per year in stipends)... he can do this for 2 years, and get a masters - while sitting for his residency exams. He can then cross over to a residency program. Why waste your time with a cheap degree when you can get a solid degree in an ivy league that will make your residency resume even more attractive? A lot of US medical students take time off to obtain masters/phd programs in research that really boost their resumes. That's why you find a lot of MD/Phd dual degree holders in big league university hospitals - they are doctors that are also heavily involved in research. My own brother did this before starting his residency and it was of tremendous benefit to him. I am very reticent to this mentality of just looking for the cheapest path of least resistance to everything when you can certainly strive for excellence.

I would argue that bro should think about what specific area he wants to specialize in for his residency, then seek out researchers working in that area, contact them directly with his plans.

THANK YOU
I HAVE REGISTERED FOR IELTS UKVI IN PURSUIT OF PLAB
WILL YOU ADVICE ME TO GO BACK AND CHANGE THE UKVI TO GENERAL TRAINING ?
I APPRECIATE YOU.
HOUSE KINDLY ADVICE AS AM LEFT TO CHOOSE BETWEEN UK PLAB AND CANADA PPR!

Hephgirl:

1. Plab for UK (ur status in d UK isn't a sure one... Their immigration isn't friendly per say) but u can do plab for uk work and den it's easier for u to start residency in Canada
2. Canadian PR ( at least u will leave d country, write ur exams) build ur self while u "wait" to start residency
3 . master in Canada goes with number 2.
But as PR u can get "grants" to do ur masters. Get a job as a public health worker ( assuming u r going through d public health route) while u pursue residency. And u can actually write ur mccee exams and do masters at d same time.

Summary u need ur PR

Thank you
They didn't accepted statement of result.
They are hell bent on certificate

I studied medicine.
Work experience 2 years
Age 33 single

Pls advise further
Feygbe:

1. You can use your statement of Result.

2. Try to redo the IELTS exam and aim for min LWSR 8777. How many years of work experience do you have? What is your highest educational qualification and your age? All these together determine how high your CRS points will be.

3. Not sure I understand you clearly here, but most people here are doing it themselves. Some have been burned by agents, a few might have been successful. Best advice, do it yourself.
