Popular Evangelist and president of Mount Zion Drama Ministry and Mount Zion Television, Mike Bamiloye has opined that watching secular movies is a sin.

Taking to his Instagrampage, Bamiloye shared a post saying if God has delivered one from watching secular movies, there is no in-between for that person again.

Bamiloye’s post elicited mixed reactions from his followers.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie who has been in the news of late for airing out his opinions on crucial matters like; engagement proposals, and single mothers, have once again opined on a controversial topic.

This time around, the veteran talked about homosexuality and how it is caused by “Ogbanje” (Abiku in Yoruba).

In a video making the rounds on micro blogging platform, twitter, Edochie said that when a child is born and looks sickly, he or she is suspected to be an ‘Ogbanje’(spirit child) and a mark is put on the child’s hand.

Edochie further says that the child eventually dies and then if the child comes back to the world, the spirit of a different gender might still be inside of him which may cause homosexuality.

Homosexuality is an issue that has become quite prevalent in the society and social media has also further helped to popularized it.

One Sunday Ogaji, who allegedly raped a she-goat, on Friday, appeared before the Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court.

The police charged Ogaji, with ”unnatural offence”.

The prosecution counsel, Sgt.Olubu Apata, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 4 at about 2. 30 p.m at Basiri area in Ado-Ekiti.

Apata said that the 22-year-old man, raped the she-goat and it died on the spot.

The prosecutor asked the court for adjournment to enable him present his witnesses.

The defendant pleaded not guilty.
His counsel, Mr Timi Omotosho, prayed the court to admit his client in the most liberal terms.

Magistrate Kehinde Awosika admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

Awosika. adjourned the case until March 31 for hearing.

Obedience is the proof of belief. The evidence of my trust in God is my obedience to Him(John 11vs39,40 ).It is impossible to rightly claim faith or trust in God without obedience to Him.

God's word is God's work. Where His word is released His work is accomplished(Ezekiel 37vs1-10, psalm 107vs20). If we don't rely absolutely on God's word, we actually hinder His work(Mark 6vs1-6). God's word demands unquestioning obedience from us.

When God commands or instructs, obedience is the only acceptable response(2 kings 5vs 10, .

Only God can fulfil His promises. Man cannot make happen what God has promised to do. Therefore never look to man for what only God can do. To do so would only lead to frustration. God's word is God's way. What His word announces, His power performs.

For every reason you have to be sad and depressed, you have more to be glad and thankful. Therefore rejoice.

Your provision for your God-given vision is in what you have, not what you don't(Mark 6:38).

Put to use what you have from that will come what you need.

Our greatest posture of humility before God is our dependence on Him (1Peter 5:7). At no time are we truly humble before God as when we are dependent on Him.

The greatest demonstration of love for God is trust in Him, expressed by obedience.

Without God I cannot, without me God will not.

The genesis of failure is prayerlessness.

If do not want to die like the world, don't live like the world.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a Man, Bamidele Olajide, age 38, for beating his 5-year-old son to death after misplacing his bet ticket.

PARADISE NEWS learnt that the incident happened during the week when the suspect’s son identified as Emmanuel Olajide, misplaced his Bet9ja ticket in which he’d won a certain amount of money.

However, Bamidele Olajide who confessed to the crime said: “It wasn’t intentional, I only beat him out of annoyance for throwing away the ticket, it when l was beating him he ran outside and fell from the stair case before hitting his head on the ground.”

The suspect further said that the economy condition of Nigeria pushed him into bet playing since he has the responsibility of family to cater for, adding that the misplaced money has been planned to take care of some expenses at home but on discovery that it has gone missing he went wild.

“I really regret my actions and I wish l never did”, Olajide fumed.

Speaking on the strength of the report, CSP Ayoola Badmus says the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

A 44-year-old tailor, Rebecca Adeniyi, has asked an Igando Customary Court in Lagos, to dissolve her 15 year old marriage on grounds that she caught her Islamic cleric hubby, Yusuf Adeniyi, having sex with a married woman.

At the hearing of her petition on Wednesday March 4th, Rebecca said her hubby with whom she had four children, built a mosque and started sleeping with his female members both single and married.

“I caught him having sexual intercourse with one of our members’ wives. I grabbed the woman and tore her clothes. I raised alarm; he started begging me not to expose the woman because her husband may divorce her.

“Members stopped coming to our mosque because of his atrocities and he is now accusing me of chasing members away. My husband’s behaviour towards me changed after the incident. He no longer gives me money nor care for me.”

The aggrieved wife told the court that she believes she was under a spell throughout their marriage.

“I was under the influence of charm throughout my marriage with Yusuf but the wool was later lifted off my eyes five years ago. I decided to remain in the marriage because of my children,” the petitioner said.

When the charges were read to him, the 47-year-old cleric admitted sleeping with his mosque member but blamed it on the devil. He denied being fetish.

“Yes, I made love with my member but it was the devil that pushed me. I begged my wife to forgive me and that it would never repeat itself but she refused and raised the alarm.

It is my wife that is fetish. She frequently visited herbalists and came home with different substances,” he said.

He accused his wife of having an affair with the husband of the married woman he had sex with.

“My wife is now living with the husband of the woman I had sexual intercourse with,” he said.

The Court President, Mr Adeniyi Koledoye, adjourned the case until March 20 for judgement.

Prince Michael ‘Blanket’ Jackson clocked 18 on February 21, 2020, and it did not take him long to ‘fly the nest’ as he purchased his first home just days after his birthday.

Blanket bought a six-bedroom house in the city of Calabasas, California, and the property reportedly cost $2.6 million (N950,300,000).

Research had it that about 91,000 cases of coronavirus have been discovered worldwide with just 3,119 deaths recorded which means the death rate is currently under 1%.

Ebola Virus
When Ebola virus strikes a human being, it becomes a fatal illness that can lead to death.

The virus which was originally gotten from wild animals can be transmitted from human-to-human through physical contacts.

Ebola symptoms usually starts from, fever, fatigue due to muscle pain and headache, sore throat which could be followed by vomiting Diarrhoea, Rash, Kidney and liver failure.

About 50% death rate was recorded out of many people that contacted Ebola virus during the outbreak.

A basic characteristic of God's nature is faithfulness. The Bible clearly describes God as faithful  (Deut 32vs4 NIV; Hosea 11vs12). This simply implies that faithfulness is an essential part of God's character. Therefore, you cannot separate God from faithfulness, because both are inseparable.

GOD'S FAITHFULNESS DEFINED 
 It is imperative, at this point, that we define our term, "faithfulness ". Faithfulness is defined as : the certainty that what has been promised or is expected will be done. Therefore, God's faithfulness is the certainty that God will do as he has promised or is expected of  Him in accordance with His word.

A BIBLICAL ILLUSTRATION
   As should be expected, the bible is replete with accounts of God's faithfulness in demonstration. However, we shall refer to just one out of several. The account of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath is a case in point. The story is set in the context of God's judgement of drought and famine on Israel, resulting from Ahab's and his wife's idolatrous worship. Following a face to face encounter, during which, Prophet Elijah pronounced the above-mentioned judgement on Ahab's kingdom, God directed Elijah to hide by the Brook Cherith(1Ki 17.2-16). He was to drink from the brook and be fed by ravens, who brought him bread and meat in the morning and evening. However, with the passage of time, the brook dried up for lack of rainfall.
   One may, at this point, wonder if God could not have kept the brook from drying up, in spite of the drought, since He had instructed Elijah to drink from it. God could, if He had wanted to, but He didn't. God’s ways are not man's ways(Isa 55:8,9). In this instance, He had other plans, which included a widow, whose condition, God wanted to change. Therefore, He instructed Elijah to, "arise and go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there"(vs9). God's reason for the change in location for Elijah is clearly stated in the same verse, in the following words, "See I have commanded a widow there to provide for you".
   Elijah obeyed God's word and went to Zarephath. At the gate of the city, he met a widow who was gathering sticks. He called out to her to kindly get him some water in a cup to drink. She obliged, but while on her way, Elijah further requested for some bread. At this, she solemnly explained her dire condition to him. She was gathering the sticks to prepare the last meal she and her son would eat before they died. It was then that Elijah proclaimed God's promises of provision, sustenance and care for her, conditioned, however, on obedience. She was required not to fear, to make a small cake from the little she had, first for Elijah and only then, for herself and her son(vs13).
   The widow did as commanded, and in turn, God ensured that she, Elijah and her household ate for many days, because, in keeping with His word, "The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry"(vs16).
   The foregoing has been carefully related to provide a Biblical basis for the analysis of God's faithfulness as well as man's privilege to rest secure on it.

THE NATURE OF GOD'S FAITHFULNESS
   God's faithfulness is unchanging and enduring, as we can learn from the account above. What this means is that God's faithfulness is a constant(Psa89vs2;100vs5 NIV ). This quality of God's faithfulness is what  precludes the need to wonder if God will be true to His word under certain circumstances. Though the brook to which God had sent Elijah for sustenance had dried up, indicating a change in conditions, God's provision for him continued through another channel. The change in the situation of the brook, did not alter the faithfulness of God. God will always be true to His faithful nature, whether on the mountain or in the valley(1Ki 20.23).
   Secondly, God's faithfulness is perfect and wholistic(Isa 25.1NIV). No one can improve on the faithfulness of God. Similarly, God's faithfulness covers every aspect of human life. God planned every important detail of man's existence. Nothing was left to chance(Jer 29.11NIV).
This is because God cares for every part of the human makeup: spirit, soul and body(1Th 5.23,24), and in His omniscience, has taken into account all that mankind, generally and individually will need for successful living on earth. Faithfulness as a virtue, is a great asset to a man or woman who possesses it, as well as to whatever segment of society he or she interacts with at any point in time. However, human faithfulness, as commendable as it is, suffers from the limitations of time,  space and the vagaries of life. The point is that human beings are both fallen and fallible creatures and therefore incapable of perfect faithfulness. The best of men is still a man, and as such subject to the possibility of improving over time. In other words, human beings can get better at being faithful, but not God. God is already as faithful as He can be, no more no less.
  Finally, mankind's unbelief cannot nullify God's faithfulness(Rom 3.3). This means that God will remain faithful, whether we believe Him or not. God will always be true to His character, therefore, no man's lack of faith can make void His integrity. Even if the widow of Zarephath had refused to believe and obey God's word, that would not have nullified the authenticity and efficacy of the promise. However, she would have suffered a great loss. No person, thing or situation can prove God a liar. Indeed, it is as Romans 3.4 says, "...let God be true and every man a liar..." 

KEYS TO RESTING ON GOD'S FAITHFULNESS
    The first key to resting on the faithfulness of God, as the widow of Zarephath found out, is to resist fear, steadfastly. That was why the first thing Elijah said to her, after she had narrated her plight, was,"Do not fear...". Elijah knew fear was capable of hindering her from receiving the provision God had faithfully and graciously made available for her. Fear is Satan's age-old weapon against humanity. He deployed it against Eve in garden of Eden(Gen 3.1). He attempted unsuccessfully to use it to derail Jesus(Matt 4.1-10). You and I are no exception to this tactic of the devil. Therefore resist him, steadfast in the faith(1peter 5.8,9).
   Secondly, to rest on God's faithfulness requires that you acknowledge, appreciate and use what you have at the moment, first in service to God and only then in service to mankind. God will not play second fiddle to anyone or anything. This is indicated by Elijah's next instruction to the widow, namely:"...make me a small cake from it first. ..."(1Ki 17.13). The widow was to  honour God first and foremost with what she already had,no matter how seemingly insignificant it was. God does not instruct us to give Him first out of what we have because He is in need, but because we are in need and only He can supply us adequately and satisfactorily(Phil 4.19). Remember, Elijah was doing fine before God decided that he should relocate to Zarephath for the sake of the widow in question. Hence, never pass up an opportunity to honour God with your resources first. However, this is possible only if you have yielded yourself to Him, as the Corinthians Christians had done(2cor 8.5).
   Finally, you rest on God's faithfulness by faithfully using what is left of what you have, in service to yourself in particular, and humanity in general, while expectantly waiting for God to make good His word. We see this principle indicated in the following words:"...and afterwards make some for YOURSELF and SON".(1Ki 17.13). It is usually in the course of the demonstration of trust in God's word, that His faithfulness is seen in manifestation. The  widow's experience when she followed the instruction quoted above, proves this point. Your individual needs are just as important to God as the needs of the human race generally. Therefore do not feel guilty about what God blesses you with, just ensure that you remember to love your neighbour as yourself. Then, joyfully, you will find that God fits the definition of faithfulness in its highest and most excellent sense. Shallom.

A Nigerian lady has taken to her social media page to report her boyfriend’s ungrateful attitude towards a gift which she presented to him.

According to the lady, she bought a wristwatch worth N5,000 for her lover, and gave it to him on his birthday.

Days later, she found the watch dumped in her room with a text message from her boyfriend, instructing her to quit sending him gifts if she only buys fake stuff.

He also tagged the wristwatch an insult to his personality and blasted her on the phone for buying it for him.

The lady revealed how she got the watch with her hard earned money and wished she never got the watch for him in the first place.

Not one of us, human, ever expects to fail in a venture he/she believes he or she is well prepared and equipped for. It, therefore, comes as  a shock to us, if in such a circumstance, we experience failure. Peter's historical fishing experience, as recorded in Luke's gospel chapter five, presents a case in point.
One can only imagine Peter's consternation as he washed his nets,following a fishing debacle.

He must have been subjected to mental torture as he thought about the experience he and his colleagues had had all through the previous night, fishing. It is important to understand what must have been the reason for Peter's bewilderment at their failure. This will help explain his disappointment.

For one thing, Peter and his colleagues were skilled fishermen, with a wealth of experience behind them. This apparently implies that they knew the tricks of the trade: the what, when, where and how. For another, they had the necessary fishing implements required for success. In addition, the night time at which they had gone fishing, was the most favourable for the  enterprise. Finally, they had worked hard all through the night. They were not lazy about it. In spite of all this, they caught nothing. Very disappointing indeed.

It's important at this point to understand that Peter's situation, as have been  analyzed above, represents the  experience of a significant percentage of
humanity whose best efforts at certain fields of endeavour have proven futile.

Jesus comes on the scene at this point, and requests the use of Peter's boat to preach to the crowd around Him. Considered on face value, He did not seem to have been sensitive to Peter's plight. This is the  point  at which  a superficial evaluation of Jesus's request for Peter's boat, in spite of his failure at catching fish throughout the night, could  easily  have led to a misjudgement of his character. Well thank God for Peter who not only  let Jesus use his boat for preaching, but also waited and listened to His message. Jesus did not appear to have been in a hurry, for the bible says He sat down and taught the multitude from the boat(Lk 5vs3). We don't how long Jesus taught. However, Peter was there attentive to His words. When Jesus had finished speaking, He addressed Peter personally, instructing him to :"launch into the deep and let down your nets for a catch"(Lk 5vs4). Peter's response to this instruction reflects the depth of disappointment he felt at the outcome of his fishing venture with his colleagues the night before, and the toll it had taken on his confidence. Nevertheless, he had been given an option to Obey or not to Obey. Jesus was not going to argue with him. It's a good thing Peter finally realised it was Jesus, who is the way the truth and the life that had spoken, and therefore obeyed. The  result was immediate, astonishing and life transforming for, especially, Peter(Lk 5vs6, 7). Once they obeyed, they caught such a large number of fish that their net began to break, as a result of which, they had to enlist the help of their partners in another boat to accommodate the catch. Both boats were so filled with fishes that they began to sink. Peter and his colleagues had a net-breaking,boat-sinking miracle. The life-transforming nature of this miracle for Peter was such that it brought him face to face with his sinfulness on the one hand and God's generous mercy and grace on the other hand. He realised that in spite of his sinfulness, God was merciful and gracious to him. This resulted in his forsaking all and following Jesus.

There are a number of lessons for personal application that  God would want us to learn from the Biblical account above. First among them is that our training, skills, wealth of experience, equipment, diligence  and connections are only the necessary but not the sufficient conditions for success. God Himself is our only sufficient condition for success(Rom 9vs16). We were never destined by God to enjoy kingdom success without Him. This was the mistake Israel made in Prophet Jeremiah's day, for which they were sternly rebuked by God(Jer 2vs13). God is the only fountain of living water and only He  can make us prosper in the real sense of the word.

The second lesson we should learn from the Biblical account above is that God prioritises His word over everything else(Ps 138vs2). This was the reason why Jesus taught God's word first before showing concern for Peter's predicament. God's word, in His view, must take precedence over all else, because He and His word are one and His word is the basis for the existence of everything(John 1vs1-3). Without God's word His kingdom has no means of expression on earth. In fact God's word embodies His kingdom. Therefore, God not only expects but requires us to place no less value on His word.

Thirdly, we learn from the account above the importance of not letting failure determine our attitude to God and His work. Peter could have allowed his disappointing experience of the previous night dictate his response to Jesus, when He had entered his boat and asked him to put out a little from land. However, Peter chose not to let his feelings rule over him. He quietly did what Jesus had asked of him, thereby taking sides with God and triumphing over his flesh. Finally, God dramatically demonstrated both the infallibility of His integrity and His omnipotence, by ensuring that Peter and his colleagues caught a phenomenal amount of fishes, when they did as Jesus had instructed. Have you failed at an endeavour you expended so much time and resources on? Take heart, you have a  historical companion in Peter, whose choice of action in this context, should serve as the standard Biblical model to follow.

Tension began between the United States of America and Iran after US drone strike ordered by President Trump assassinated a top Iranian commander, Qasem Soleimani.

Trump, in a statement from his Mar-a-Lago resort on Friday, said he ordered the assassination of the commander to “stop a war” and not “to start a war,” a statement which seems to have fallen on the deaf side of Iran.

Sophia Momodu has responded after her baby daddy, Davido, denied ever taking her to Ghana on vacation.

Recall that both of them recently jetted out to Ghana with their daughter Imade.

The pictures they shared had suggested they were on their way to Ghana for vacation leaving Davido’s fiancee Chioma behind in Nigeria.

Reacting to the aforementioned report that was generated according to the pictures, Davido took to social media expressing his displeasure.

According to him, the publications based on rumors have the capability of hurting his fiancee Chioma whom he has a son with and planning to throw a big wedding with this year, (Read Here).

Sophia had earlier said she does not fly economy, that it is strictly first class or business and now she’s solidified that statement by saying she never asked for a lift.

Nollywood Actress, Anita Joseph is currently on the receiving end of scathing criticisms after she attempted to break the internet by sharing an alluring video of herself in a bathtub.

The movie star took to her Instagram page where she shared a video of herself in a bathtub. She went on to caption the video with a quote that had to do with an advert.
