Bishop Calistus Onaga, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, has banned Catholic faithful from attending Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry henceforth.

This is coming following Mbaka’s recent vituperation against the Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

Mbaka had during his mid-week prayer activities declared that Peter Obi, “a stingy man”, could not be Nigeria’s president. He also said that he was “cursed.”

Shortly after, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu disassociated from the utterances, noting that Mbaka’s attack on Obi breached Canon 220 of 1983 Code of the Canon Law that prohibited anyone from illegitimately harming the good name of a person.

In a letter Bishop Onaga personally signed, which was addressed to ‘All the Clery, Religious and Lay Faithful in the Catholic Diocese of Enugu’, he banned them from having anything to do with the Adoration Ministry.

He said in the letter that Mbaka, having refused to heed to the Church’s persistent directives, “and in fulfillment of my pastoral duties as the Chief Shepherd, I hereby prohibit all Catholics (clergy, religious and lay faithful) henceforth from attending all religious and liturgical activities of the Catholic Adoration Ministry until the due canonical process initiated by the Diocese is concluded.”

While noting that his decision was based on the fact that Mbaka’s teaching and utterances were not consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church, he enjoined “all Christian faithful to keep praying for Fr. Mbaka.”

The letter banning Catholics going to Adoration Ministry reads,

“To All the Clergy, Religious and Lay Faithful in the Catholic Diocese of Enugu

“Dear Msgri, Frs., Bros. and Srs..

Dear People of God,

PASTORAL INJUNCTION ON ATTENDANCE TO CATHOLIC ADORATION MINISTRY CHAPLAINCY ENUGU

“In the light of the happenings in the Catholic Adoration Ministry Chaplaincy Enugu; capable of undermining the Catholic faith and teachings; and after several fraternal corrections and admonitions to Fr. Camillus Ejike Mbaka, the Chaplain of the Ministry; and after having given him pastoral directives and guidelines for the Ministry Chaplaincy, which he persistently violated;

“and in fulfilment of my pastoral duties as the Chief Shepherd with the obligation to promote and safeguard the Catholic faith and morals in Enugu Diocese, I hereby prohibit all Catholics (clergy, religious and lay faithful) henceforth from attending all religious and liturgical activities of the Catholic Adoration Ministry until the due canonical process initiated by the Diocese is concluded.

A 42-year-old man identified as Ibrahim Adamu Mohd has taken his life at Kanti quarters in Kazaure Local Government Area of Jigawa State after his girlfriend ended their relationship and got married to another man.

It was gathered that residents of Kanti woke up on Sunday morning, June 12, and found the man with a rope around his neck, dangling from a tree.

Spokesperson of the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who confirmed the incident on Monday, said the deceased is an indigene of Gayawa village in Ungogo LGA of Kano State.

He said Mr. Ibrahim committed su*cide by hanging himself along Daura Road Adjacent Baushe filling station in Kazaure town at an uncompleted building.

The PPRO said a wedding invitation card and two SIM cards were found in the deceased's possession.

Speaking to Premium Times, the police spokesperson said that the invitation card is that of the girlfriend.

He said that the family of the man confirmed that the man killed himself because he was heartbroken after his girlfriend married another man.

Adam said the deceased travelled from neighbouring Kano to commit suicide in the area, saying that was why he was not immediately identified by residents who spotted his body dangling from the tree.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at a mortuary in the Kazaure council area.

A Nigerian lady has narrated how her ex-boyfriend use and dumb her.

Today Osas is getting married and it’s not me. After a 10 year relationship, 8 abortions, feeding him through my parents when we were in school and coping with his cheating habit, he dumped me. He is getting married to the girl he said nothing was between them.

We met when I was in SS3 and he wrote JAMB. When I got admission and against my parents’ warning, I lived with him off campus. We lived as spouses; that was how I aborted 8 times and at that time I received a prophecy, that he was going to be my husband.

I told him about that and he accepted. He started cheating then, but I never caught him and when I confronted him, he would tell me that I had insecurities. After he finished school, he went for service and wen I visited him, I noticed someone had stayed with him, but he denied.

Apart from being a serial cheat, he was very controlling because he cloned my phone and when I was serving, he called a guy who was asking me out to stay away from me. The guy warned me to be careful of him, but I was in love.

One day, I visited him unexpectedly in his house after I started working in another state, he didn’t open the door for me and I knew he was around. I called him severally, but he refused picking and after about three hours of waiting, I left, but he called immediately I left.

When I saw one of his neighbors, she told me that he had a girl inside and that they have known the girl for two years. I confronted him and he couldn’t deny it, but he told me that I was still the one for him and that he loved me so much and he didn’t want to lose me.

A year after today, I saw their pictures on the WhatsApp of his sister who I thought she was my friend. They are getting married and he didn’t tell me after all I have done for him.

A Nigerian lady has cried out on social media after her husband called his sidechick to cook for him in her presence.

According to the lady, her husband demanded for pepper soup at an odd hour and she felt so tired to prepare it at the time because she just got back from work.

Her husband then called his sidechick in her presence who agreed to do the cooking.

“My husband just came back from work by 7, had his bath. I served him his food, he rejected it and told me that he wanted to eat fish pepper soup by that time and I also just came back from work. The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested an 18-year-old lady for murder.
Deborah Jerry was arrested for allegedly killing her ex-boyfriend, Suleiman Lawal.

Spokesperon of the command, ASP Rahman Nansel, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday, said Lawal was stabbed last Monday, May 23, in Agwan Jaba, Masaka, Karu Local Government of the state.

Lawal was then taken to Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, where he was confirmed dead by doctors.

According to the PPRO, the suspect and the deceased had a misunderstanding that led to a physical fight.

"While the fight was still going on, the suspect ran and brought out a kitchen knife, then stabbed the deceased in the chest. The police promptly rushed to the scene, but they couldn’t save him,” he said.

Meanwhile, sources who spoke to Premium Times, said the couple dated for three years before their sudden break-up.

A source said they had an argument last Sunday at Alabama Hotel in Masaka when the deceased found out that Ms Jerry was dating his friend.

A friend of Mr Lawal who doesn’t want to be named said Ms Jerry started dating the deceased’s friend a week ago which made him jealous.

"Suleiman is my friend, And I know they are no longer dating, but why should Deborah now be dating a friend of her ex? That is why Suleiman got angry and started insulting Deborah.” he said.

Another resident identified as Blessing Usman said the deceased was calling the suspect names, which got her angry to the point of attacking the deceased.

"I remember Ms Jerry saying that prison that you always tell me I will go to, you will be the one that will go there before me. That was the last thing she said before entering a shop to pick up a knife and stabbed Mr Lawal on his chest,” she said.

"Right now, I don’t really know what to say but my family is taking action because she can’t just go unpunished,” the deceased brother said, adding, “We are going to court on Monday on this matter." he added.

A young Nigerian lady has left a suicide note on Facebook after taking her own life.

The lady has been identified as Adaeze Regina Okoh.

The young lady wrote a heart touching suicide note on Facebook, informing her family and friends that she was going to commit suicide, Salem Gist reported.

According to the lady, her family have betrayed her, adding that she has not known true happiness all her life.

Although the young lady did not mention the main problem that might have thrown her into depression in her suicide note.

However, 9 hours later, a cousin to the deceased posted on her timeline that she hurriedly rushed to her place when she saw the Facebook post but her door was locked.

According to her, she called some of the young men around to help her break the door, they broke the door and saw her lifeless on her bed. She said they rushed her to the hospital but she was confirmed dead on arrival.

Regina’s cousin isn’t buying the suicide story, she is however, alleging that someone might have killed her and makes it look like a suicide.

She said the incident have been reported to the police, she vowed that the family must “get to the root of the this”.

A Nigerian lady has decided to call off plans for her wedding.

Ozioma Helen Michael (Ada Uburu) called off her wedding over domestic abuse.

The church and traditional wedding ceremonies were scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 16, 2022, in Amenu Uburu, Ebonyi State.

In a post shared on her Facebook page on Wednesday, April 13, Ozioma said she cancelled the wedding because her fiancé, David Okike, has allegedly been beating her and even threatened to kill her.

Ozioma alleged that he started maltreating her soon after paying her bride price, adding that she has been enduring the toxic relationship for over a year hoping he would change.

She also apologised to her friends and family for any inconvenience the cancellation may have caused them.

Hello Guys!!! I never wanted to bring this here but I have to, I am a type of person who likes to keep my relationship away from social media but this is for clarification purposes.

This was my secondary school classmate who I thought I knew to an extent. On December 28, 2020 he did the 1st and 2nd stage in my family marriage list which bride price happened to be on the 2nd stage which he paid. After he paid my bride price he started maltreating me.

2021 was hell for me that at some point I left home, after everything we settled around November 2021 which he promised he will never beat me again. But still nothing CHANGED.

This is my reason why I am CALLING OFF the Traditional Marriage (Igba Ngwu) and White Wedding ceremony between me and DAVID OKIKE OFF. (Beating me was not part of the agreement in our Marriage)

This Saturday should have been my traditional and white wedding ceremony day.... I supposed to be happy but I am not. For couple of months now I have been going through a lot.

I have been in a TOXIC RELATIONSHIP for OVER a YEAR now.. I am aware that this may be a shock to many people, especially people from my Home Town. My supposed husband HIT and ABUSE me in any slightest provocation, just small misunderstanding without minding what condition I am into

Because I have chosen ME and I will not live my entire life facing DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. My supposed husband is full of RAGE, BEATING me with his Belt, Stick, Broom is his DAILY ROUTINE, Many a times he had lifted his hammer on me and this Monday last week just because of little misunderstanding he beat me mercilessly and on the process of it he rushed into his mother's kitchen for a cutlass, when I noticed he's going for a weapon I locked the door behind him which he forcefully opened, both his mother and Sisters and some neighbors were begging him not to cut me with the cutlass ... With all these things and more I am fed up.

I AM CALLING OFF THE WEDDING AND TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE (IGBA NGWU) BETWEEN ME AND DAVID OKIKE that supposed to hold on this Saturday 16th, April 2022.

I am still suffering from unstoppable headache I sustained from the head injury he gave me 3 weeks ago.

Tolani in a series of tweets revealed how she immediately wiped him with an old palm slipper and ran away.
