If you plan on studying film production, you will need to submit two short assignments:

Movie Critique: Write a professional critique (300-500 words) about any feature-length film, describing the film’s strengths and weaknesses and assessing its overall entertainment value. You should also include various elements of filmmaking such as direction, acting, lighting, editing, effects. We’re interested in seeing your level of awareness for what makes a film work (or not). Please note, movie critiques will not be returned.
Storyboard: Dream up any film idea and develop a storyboard. You may also include dialogue and direction. Don’t worry about your drawing skills, you can use storyboard software or stick figures. We’re looking to see your ability for putting single visual frames into a sequence that tells a story. Storyboards will be returned during the third week of classes.

Conditions for Work Placements:

In Term 3 of the Film Production diploma, you can apply for the 6 or 12-month work placement. After completion of the diploma, the Film Production Work Placement helps you experience the creative workforce through placement opportunities in Canada’s “Hollywood North.”

ACTING FOR FILM, TV & THE THEATRE – Audition

Because Nigerian Students can’t go to a live audition on campus, Nigerians may have to audition in the following format:

1-2 minutes explaining who you are (hobbies, interests, past educational experiences), why you want to be an actor, and why study at Toronto Film School

I am a young and upcoming musician and I have been looking for a way to promote my music recently after I submitted my music to a distribution company to put on iTunes, VEVO, Spotify other worldwide platforms. You know as a struggling musician when you put music on iTunes you have to find a way to get people to buy it, and was combing the internet I found an American company that says they can tell which radio station plays your music worldwide, I said toh, since my song never popular yet, make i wait for my time first, let me kukuma check the music of the people that are popular in Nigeria here oh, me I just know say one day I go blow sha. I decided to check for Wizkid and Davido (OBO) because I’m a Davido fan and I personally think Davido is a bigger artist than Wizkid but this data analytics proved me wrong.
To my greatest surprise, they were able to show it oh, including the song, date and time the music was played, which radio station etc including our Inspiration FM, Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Naija FM 102.7, etc.

This means that if you go and pay a radio station OAP to play your music, instead of seating down and waiting for them to play your song (some of them will not play your song, they will even eat your money for free). You can just go and ask this company to check for you, they will send the report to your email.

Out of curiosity, I paid the first time and they sent it to my email, let me share it with you here oh. Then I checked for others too. I've been a nairalander for years, although i have been an advertiser on other platforms, i finally decided to advertise on Nairaland. Followed all instructions, uploaded the advert, made the payment and waited for a few days but the advert i'snt still active. We searched for and contacted via phone call someone who currently has an avert running on nairaland and was told they actually had to send Reminders to Seun for a week before their Ad got activated.

While i understand that Seun is a busy man, i hope that my ad gets activated and perhaps the customer service should be improved. The advertisement email should be checked at least once a day, also when a payment is made, there should at least be an email sent to the advertiser acknowledging the receipt of the money.

By incorporating solar modules into rooftops, Tesla is hoping to succeed with a solar technology that to date has had little success. Just this year, Dow Chemical said it would stop selling a solar tile it launched five years ago.

Tesla’s glass solar roof tiles would look far better than any similar product, Musk said. They can be manufactured in a range of styles, which were demonstrated on the rooftops on the set.

Tesla gave little detail on cost, except to say that the cost of the roof would be less than a conventional roof plus solar. The product will appeal to home builders and those looking to replace their roofs, Musk said, adding that the shingles would be more durable and have better insulation qualities than conventional roofing.

SolarCity co-founder Peter Rive, Musk’s cousin, said the solar roofs could easily have a 5% share of the new roof market in a year or two.

The new generation of home and industrial batteries will be available this year.

The US has committed $5 million (£3.2m; €4.6m) to the fight against Boko Haram since Mr Buhari came to power.
The jihadists have killed thousands in north-east Nigeria since 2009.
Speaking after the two met at the White House, Mr Obama called Nigeria one of the most important countries on the African continent and praised Mr Buhari for tackling corruption, an issue which compromised Washington's relationship with the Nigerian leader's predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan.
Boko Haram has carried out attacks in northern Nigeria since its insurgency began in 2009, most notably the April 2014 kidnapping of 276 Nigerian school girls who are still missing.
President Obama's wife Michelle got involved in an online campaign to draw attention to the girls' plight, #BringBackOurGirls, and the US sent surveillance flights over Nigeria to help locate them.
However, the US refuses to sell weapons to Nigeria because of concerns over its army's human rights record.
Stolen funds
Mr Buhari wrote in an article published in The Washington Post just before meeting Mr Obama that "our allies can provide much-needed military training and intelligence as our soldiers take the war effort to Boko Haram".
Mr Obama did not give any indication after his meeting with Mr Buhari that the US would provide military assistance to Nigeria.
Mr Buhari also wrote that he was seeking US assistance in "locating and returning $150 billion in funds stolen in the past decade and held in foreign bank accounts on behalf of former, corrupt officials".
At the outset of the meeting, President Obama praised the March elections won by Mr Buhari as "an affirmation of Nigeria's commitment to democracy".
President Buhari replied by saying Nigeria will "ever be grateful" for the US help in ensuring the elections were free fair and credible.
Mr Buhari, a former military ruler, was invited to Washington shortly after becoming the first opposition candidate to win a national election in March.
Nigeria is Africa's most populous nation, biggest economy and biggest oil producer.

KFC Workers Washing Chicken On The Floor
A video of KFC workers in South Africa washing chicken on the floor has sparked public outrage.

The incident occurred at the fast food branch in Braamfontein.
Following the outrage, KFC executive, Jason Kerr, explained why the incident occurred.

KFC chief executive Jason Kerr told The Star on Monday morning during a visit to the affected branch in Braamfontein that the chicken pieces formed part of the raw wastages and was to be thrown away.

But he said employees at the outlet on the corner of Biccard and De Korte streets took the affected chicken pieces that were not perfect for consumption to the back of the store to remove the breading.

Breading of the chicken refers to the process of coating it with flour and their secret blend of herbs and spices.

Kerr said the employees did this because they feared management would discover that they breaded the chicken after it was identified as being “imperfect”.

Although the incident has damaged the food outlet’s brand, Kerr was adamant that the employees in question only violated a minor regulation and did not harm the consumers.

“The team members are not to blame because no harm was done to the consumers.”

The employees have not been suspended following the incident but will undergo a hearing.

The store has also been reopened following the closure on Friday.

Joseph Ncube, who is an orphan and is disabled, was born in Plumtree, 29 years ago before he was sent to King George VI in Bulawayo by well-wishers, where he did his primary education, before he dropped out due to lack of scholastic funding.The acrobatic dancer told ZimEye.com that it was during his time at king George VI that he was taught by his teachers, that he was blessed. “I was inspired that disability is not inability, hence my working in the streets now, trying to earn a living, from my sweat,” said Joseph.
After dropping out of school, he went back to Plumtree, a district of his birth and started performing locally.

“This did not yield any meaningful results, when I started performing live dances and shows, as many people back home in Plumtree are also poor and could not pay descent cash that could buy bread. I decided to take my work to Bulawayo, the Capital for Matabeleland, where

I am now trying to earn a living , as you can see, I am fighting poverty with others,” said Joseph.

Baby pulled from Nepal earthquake rubble after 22 hours.
This is the incredible moment that a four-month-old earthquake survivor was pulled alive from the rubble of his collapsed home following the 7.8-magnitude tremor which shattered Nepal.
The baby boy, who emerged from the wreckage covered in dust, was miraculously found amid the devastation after rescue workers heard the infant's faint cries.
The military search team had already scoured the area near to the child's home in Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, in the hope of finding the little boy. But they had moved on after believing the child had not survived.


They only returned to the spot for the second time when the young boy's cries for help were heard from beneath the debris.
An operation was then launched to pluck the baby to safety, 22 hours after the quake first hit.
The boy was named locally as Sonit Awal and reported to be in stable condition, according to Kathmandu Today. The condition and whereabouts of his parents are unknown.
The pictures emerged today as the first British fatality from the earthquake was confirmed.


The British Foreign Office said the victim was a non-UK resident who had lived in Hong Kong, but did not release any further details.
Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond later said officials were 'urgently investigating' reports of a further British national reported killed at the Everest base camp.
He said they do not have any confirmation yet.
It also emerged today that another survivor who was trapped under rubble next to dead bodies for 82 hours stayed alive by drinking his own urine.
