Well well well,if it isnt the mental midget to the rescue of his damsel in distress grin
Cute but it seems that between both of you is an IQ equivalent to that of a hamster. grin

Anyways, lets see I wont call her a birdbrain, would the term mentally deficient suffice?
I think so.
Well the main problem with you calling ppl 'birdbrain' or 'mentally deficient' is the incredible irony. It's funny but the jokes on you.  smiley

keep in mind you were the only one unable to understand the topic. grin I don't think it's hard to identify the real birdbrain in this situation lipsrsealed

Supposedly the annang have a connection to the twi in Ghana.( annang is a group that lives in the extreame southeast)
we don't look or act anything alike, but I was watching a documentary in Ghana and one man said "nohde" 'give me' in the exact same way we do.

Plus annang means forth son in twi. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Listen to me,Bintu

Perfumes are described with notes and tones, mid, high and low tones, which is how the scent is diffused.Fruity, floral,Oceanic,Aquatic,Wood, leather, citrus notes for how they generally smell.

So go along and have a romantic perfume with your boyfriend, birdbrain.
shut-up little man, and have respect for ppl smarter than you. Ie BABE! wink

by romantic I was refering to scents that 'turn on' the other gender. It looks like everyone else here understood that but you.
I don't think you should be calling ppl birdbrain my friend.

^ I'm pretty sure most cologne in Nigeria is fake  undecided so those ppl are spending 'big bucks' for more or less cheap cologne.

Im a teen and i see what ur saying everyday. Theres only ONE reason i didnt end up like by brainless peers.
I dont have cable T.V
I read books and watched documentaries (pbs) so i missed out on the MTV brainwashing.

The problem is getting worse. Watch this doumentary on frontline.com called "Merchants of cool" i'll put a link if anyone wants. It talks about how 'cool' programs teach teens how to think.

It always annoys me when ppl say that. Like white ppl 'evolved' from black people or something. humans just adapt to their enviornment no race came from the other.

and even if it were true. . . is that something to be proud of? undecided

But anyway Nigeria should just use those dollars to buy gold. Gold just keeps going up.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians In The Diaspora Have No Responsibility To The Development Of Nigeria. by pleep(m): 2:44am On Jul 28, 2011
Expats who have no intention of going back home to help should be ashamed of themselves.
They are the real problem.
Look how Asian expats use western education to better their countries while Nigerians just complain. .
How's a country going to deveelop when it's best Most promising ppl (figurativly) abandon it?

Stop looking for excuses and look for oppurtunities.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians In The Diaspora Have No Responsibility To The Development Of Nigeria. by pleep(m): 2:38am On Jul 28, 2011
@ Pash4naij You are right. Doing the right thing in the nigerian government is not easy, they will frustrate you.
But that was just a sidenote. U don't have to be in government to make a difference.

The government is a scapegoat. As Ronald Raegan said; "you get the government you deserve" and I couldn't agree more.
Nigerian expats are using it as a scapegoat for their own failures as a middle class.
Development and industrilization are the job of the private sector not the government, and the private sector is mainly abroad.
Nigerian expats are ppl with education, money, intelligence etc. Yet we have Indians filling the economic gaps we should be filling? There is no excuse for that.

ogugua88:
Africans came to the US as slaves, which they survived. Kony can keep talking, but Native Americans went through worse: genocide. White settlers were throwing Native American infants into bonfires for Christ's sake. The money they receive from casinos is not much. He should take a trip to an area concentrated with AAs, maybe in Mississippi, then compare it to a Native American reservation. The poorest AA town is luxury compared to what Native Americans are going through. African Americans aren't living off of commodities. I don't know where his thinking is.
I get were your comming from, but ur making the black experience look like a cakewalk.
At say. . . 1950 a.a's and Indians were @ the same place socially. In some instances the Indians even had it better. The Cherokee in tennesee even had black slaves at one point.

CultureRe: Why Is Esu Associated With Satan? by pleep(m): 12:31am On Jul 28, 2011
I think the missionaries did this to try and make the natives belive that the gods they were worshipping before were actually the devil in desguise.
CultureRe: African Identity Crisis: A Must Read For All. by pleep(m): 11:37pm On Jul 27, 2011
ogugua88:
Do not use "US", "American Indians", and "generous" in the same sentence please. Till this day, the US is very cruel to Native Americans. For lack of kinder words, the American government doesn't give a damn about them. Visit a reservation or talk to a Native American born and raised on a reservation. They'll tell you.
I'm aware sad the reservations look like 3rd world countries. I think the main negative things the u.s did to American Indians was raping their culture & exposing them to alcholol etc. Which trapped them in a self destructive cycle.

The u.s is trying to help, Perhaps in the wrong way tho.

As kony pointed out a similar thing happened to a.a's

coogar:
this is the problem you don't see.

yes, we have access to that information but we as nigerians don't have the opportunity to really take advantage like the chinese and lebanese folks.
why? because nigerians in nigeria are still trapped in the slave mentality ish. any human with white skin is respected, more respected than you that they know is a nigerian like them.
Haha, yes but we still have advantages over them. For example we speak inpeccable English. The chinaman is not so lucky. Just knowing you come from "Yankee" is enough to get you enough respect to be able to function normally. I guarantee.

Besides it's not like ppl dash an Indian money just cuz their Indian, you still have to work for it. And Nigerian expats have everything we need, all that holds us back is excuses.

Well some are still saving for their tickets back home.  We wont wait for those ones.   We will move on and help ourselves.  Sorry
You can help yourself who gives a damn.  tongue in talking about helping my country nigeria.
obowunmi:
Two things, though generalizations:

1. Nigerians in America are suffering. No papers, low-wage jobs, and struggling to pay bills, mortgage, credit cards and such. If you have all this gbese, you are not in a better position --- because you think about your bills, bills, bills, all day, err - day.

2. Nigerians in Nigeria are only suffering in terms of Amenities (No light, no water, no good roads)  BUT, enjoy not paying taxes.--- don't pay mortgage or have credit card bils. Everything is cash down. Nigerians in Nigeria have and enjoy cash. Lots of cash.

So who should help who ? I don't think they are in a better off position than the other.  undecided undecided undecided

I'll say collaboration is needed and not just responsibility on one side of the coin
U forgot to mention that the average American makes 50k a year while the average Nigerian makes $700.

I don't know were u live but the magority of nigerian immigrants are middle to upper middle class in the U.S. We are also The most educated immigrant group in the country. (I may provide a link later).

By all means Nigerian who are stuggling should get their act together first before anything. But those who have enough free time to post on nairaland should atleast make plans to go back home and help fix their broken country.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians In The Diaspora Have No Responsibility To The Development Of Nigeria. by pleep(m): 10:13pm On Jul 27, 2011
Poor people are generally incapable of seeing the bigger picture. I'm not trying to sound cruel here but this is a proven fact. Look at poor 'rednecks' in the u.s the policies of the GOP do not favor their lives whatsoever yet they are the most die hard rebublicans in the country.

Or look at poor ppl in Nigeria, as one poster pointed out. The PDP has done nothing for them, yet they flocked in droves to vote PDP in office again.
And as I said earlier the elites don't care. - their main concern is keeping their social status.

That is why nigerias middle class -expats- has the responsibility of doing what a good middle class should, and push for political changes in thier country. ( sending money home doesn't do jack$hit)
PoliticsRe: Nigerians In The Diaspora Have No Responsibility To The Development Of Nigeria. by pleep(m): 10:05pm On Jul 27, 2011
^Yes it is. @ coogar

I don't want to call them bastards (this is adressed at nobody in particular  wink ) but im trying to think of a word for someone who abandons their country but still claims to be a Nigerian.
And money is NOT the issue. Don't you  ppl wonder what the Indians, Chinese and lebanse people are doing in Nigeria to make so much money?
They come from more developed nations thus, have information that the guy born and raised in Nigeria doesn't have. They use this information to make money off the country.    -is the government stopping them-  huh

While nigerians abroad who have access to this same information are content live as hyphonated-Americans complaining on nairaland while foreigners take the opputunities they are ignoring back home.
