Gernot Rohr Omits Nigeria From Possible Teams To Win AFCON


Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr, has played down the chances of the Super Eagles winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

He argued that Nigeria are not among the top three ranked teams in Africa.

The German gaffer noted that Nigeria did not qualify for the last two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, hence their poor Fifa ranking.

The former Burkina Faso coach picked three North African countries, as well as Senegal as the favourites for the title.

“No, I do not think we can say that. When we look at the ranking of Africa and FIFA, we are not the first African country,” says Genrot Rohr

“There are other countries in front of us, I think we are fourth. There is Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt that may be favourite at home for the AFCON, there is also Senegal in front of us.

“The ranking is not just the latest results, but for a few years. In 2014, 2015, Nigeria was not great and did not qualify for the last two AFCON. It has somewhat handicapped its ranking at FIFA and Africa,” he added.

Man Caught Having Sex With A Minor In The Bush


A man has been apprehended and is currently in police custody for allegedly defiling a primary school student.

It was gathered that the middle-aged man was spotted by a passerby while having sex with the underage pupil in a bush. An alarm was raised leading to the prompt arrest of the man.

Facebook user John who hails from Kwara, shared a picture of the man after he was apprehended but didn’t give the exact location where it happened.

It was learnt that the suspect has been handed over to the police of possible prosecution after he was beaten by the mob.

Cleaner finds more than £300,000 cash in brown envelope on London bus and hands it to police


A honest cleaner has left many happy after he found more than £300,000 in cash on a London bus and handed it over to the police instead of keeping the large amount of money that could’ve changed his life.

The cleaner, hired by Cordant Cleaning, found the money in a brown envelope after an absent-minded passenger left it there. The man, whose identity hasn’t been disclosed yet, returned it to the Met police.

Speaking on the various items they find on buses, Cordant boss Guy Pakenham said: ‘More often than not I’m left shocked when my team tell me about the disgusting things they have to get rid of when cleaning buses up and down the UK.

‘But I can only praise their dedication and good humour.
‘They don’t seem to be fazed by anything.

‘Thankfully our staff are fully trained and equipped to deal with cleaning hazards like these.

‘But we can only urge passengers that next time they defecate on the floor of a bus, or throw up their own false teeth, please remember to take all of your items with you.’

Fulham Reportedly Sacks Claudio Ranieri


Italian football manager, Claudio Ranieri has been sacked as manager of Premiership club Fulham, with first-team coach and former footballer Scott Parker taking temporary charge.

His dismissal comes after he lost 2-0 to Southampton on Wednesday, which left the club19th in the Premier League, 10 points from safety with 10 games left.

Ranieri who led Leicester to an unlikely title triumph back in 2016, said in a statement: ‘I am obviously disappointed with the recent results and that we could not build on the good start we made following my appointment.

‘Finally, I would like to thank the club, the players and the fans for the support they have given me during my time at the club.’

Chairman of the club, Shahid Khan said in a statement: Following our discussion this afternoon, Claudio Ranieri agreed with my decision that a change was in the best interest of everyone,’ chairman Shahid Khan said in a statement.

‘No surprise to me, Claudio was a perfect gentleman, as always.
‘Claudio’s tenure at Fulham didn’t produce the outcome we anticipated and needed when I appointed him as manager in November, but be assured he is not solely to blame for the position we are in today.

‘Claudio walked into a difficult situation, inheriting a side that gained only one point in its prior eight matches, and he provided an immediate boost by leading our club to nine points in his first eight matches as manager.

‘Though we were unable to maintain that pace thereafter, I am grateful for his effort. Claudio leaves Fulham as our friend and he will undoubtedly experience success again soon.’

Ranieri was due to take a recovery session on Thursday, but Scott Parker now takes over on an interim basis.

Supreme court to deliver judgement on Onnoghen’s suspension on May 17th


The Supreme Court has fixed May 17th 2019 as the date it will deliver judgment in the suit filed by the Cross River state government seeking to set aside the six-count charge of non-assets declaration preferred against the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen by the federal government.

The suit filed by the Attorney General of Cross River State on behalf of the state government, is challenging Onnoghen ’s suspension and trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT). Onnoghen was suspended from office by President Buhari in January this year after he was accused of falsely declaring his assets since he assumed office in March 2017. Onnoghen is an indigene of Cross Rivers state.
The suit filed by the Cross Rivers state government, was dated January 22nd 2019, and marked SC/45/2019 has the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) as defendants.

Donald Trump Allegedly Kisses Former Staff Without Her Consent

A former staff on Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign team has accused him of sexual assault.

Alva Johnson said Donald Trump kissed her without her consent outside a rally in Florida in August 2016.

Alva Johnson told Washington Post:

I immediately felt violated because I wasn’t expecting it or wanting it.

I can still see his lips coming straight for my face.

Alva Johnson told the Post she turned her head to avoid the unwanted kiss, which landed on the side of her mouth and felt “super-creepy and inappropriate.”

The allegation is described in a federal lawsuit filed Monday in Florida, in which Alva Johnson is seeking unspecified damages for emotional pain and suffering, according to the Post.

Alva Johnson alleged in the lawsuit that Trump grabbed her hand and tried to kiss her on the lips as he exited an RV outside the Tampa rally on Aug. 24, 2016.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders dismissed Alva Johnson’s accusation, calling it “absurd on its face.”

Sanders said in a statement:

This never happened and is directly contradicted by multiple highly credible eye witness accounts.

In the lawsuit, Alva Johnson, who is black, also alleges that Donald Trump’s campaign discriminated against her by paying her less than her white colleagues. Donald Trump’s campaign has denied the accusation.

Over 21 women have accused Donald Trump of various instances of sexual misconduct between the early 1980s and mid-2000s. He has vehemently denied the allegations.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) charges the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately announce results as delivered from the polling units and declare the people’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the winner of the February 23 Presidential election

Our position is predicated on clear and verifiable results across the nation, showing that Atiku Abubakar is in clear lead both in spread and total number of votes cast.

Intelligence available to us is that INEC is delaying the announcement of results following directives by the Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC), which are bent on altering the figures from the polling centers and allocate fictitious figures for President Muhammadu Buhari, particularly in northern states.

Curiously, INEC server is now shut down, results are no more being transmitted and the reason is to enable the APC to inflate figures from six designated states.

We call on international observers and election monitors to insist on a transparent process of transmission of results and the monitoring thereof.

We already have reports of how APC governors in the northern states have been making desperate effort to tamper with the results of the elections in their respective states with the view to award conjured votes to President Buhari.

In Kogi state, Governor Yahaya Bello has been making frantic moves to change results to suit APC’s intent and purposes as against the wishes of the people, expressly delivered at the polls.

Nigerians already know how the Minister of Transportation and the Director-General of the Buhari Campaign, Rotimi Amaechi, used the military to hold an INEC official in River state, Mrs. Mary Efeturi, hostage and insisted that she will not be released until she alters the results in favour of President Buhari

The PDP calls on INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to note that in this age of Information Communication Technology, Nigerians already have the results as delivered at the polling centers and any attempt to alter any figure will be faced with vehement resistance.

In delaying the announcement of the results, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu is allowing the APC to turn him into a villain and directly pitching him against the people. He should therefore extricate himself from the rejected APC and be on the side of the people, by immediately announcing the results as already delivered at the polling units and declare, the people’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the winner.

Anything short of this is not acceptable to Nigerians, who had already expressed their wishes and aspiration at the polls.

Election Materials Have Been Seized At Rotimi Ameachi’s Polling Unit in Rivers state



According to local radio reports, election materials have been seized at Wards 4 and 12 of Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State amid heavy shooting. Transport minister Rotimi Amaechi’s Ubima Community is in Ward 4. The trouble reportedly started just after Mr Amaechi left the PU8 where he voted.
An aide to the minister said: “I just got that” when asked to confirm the incident.

Apart from Mr Amaechi, a former governor and PDP leader, Celestine Omehia, is also from the area.
