You seem to not properly understand how the stock exchange works. Transcorp as a group is an investment company, however, this doesn't mean that subsidiary entities cannot have assets that justify a higher valuation than the main Group company.

Lol, you mean Dr awo doesn't understand how stock exchange work!

I don't think it maybe that straight. Geregu has 2.5 billion os and transcorp is 7.5 billion. And geregu has little floating. I don't think Tony can control the float of transcorp like ote.We wait to see shareholders structure of TPP

Tony has learnt from ote.
I want to believe that might be one of the reasons he didn't distribute shares of transpower to transcorp shareholders.
As it is now, tony is in firm control of transpower and he can do whatsoever he likes with it just like ote....

Year 2022 was clearly stated. And from the 2022 AFS, there were no outstanding shares... grin

Yes! The 2024 EPS will be diluted but does that water down the comparative analysis with GEREGU? NO!
See the bigger picture... wink

What was the PAT for 2022?
I have searched and I couldn't find the answer.

Oga better for them to allot shares for shareholders as they did in ucap and Afriprud than Transcorp to own 51% of the power. How much dividend do you think shareholders will get in their 51% holding considering the huge os?
51% ,Tony and his group will still embezzle as admin expenses.

I want to believe that current shareholders of transcorp will benefit by way of price appreciation in the share price considering the close to 2 trillion naira market capitalisation of the new transcorp power.
Dividend might not be attractive but that is the way of the billionaire on NSE.

Did you read the article?

"It said the performance in November last year when compared to the same period a year earlier revealed that total transactions increased by 188.3 percent.

“In November, the total value of transactions executed by domestic investors outperformed transactions executed by foreign investors by circa 52 percent,” the NGX said.

A further analysis showed that total domestic transactions increased by 22.2 percent from N187.6 billion in October to N229.3 billion in November.

Total foreign transactions increased by 113.9 percent from N33.4 billion (about$36.8 million) to N71.4 billion (about $75.8 million)."

Yes I did.
Totat transaction by fpi increased but the outflow was more than the inflow.

I don't think so.

But when results start coming in, weak companies that are selling at ridiculously high prices will be punished by the market.

I think it will be difficult to predict how high the market could go....or when we are going to see correction.

The problem with Transcorp is can it pay dividends to sustain current price/rally? I guess those in the bus already will rather follow the money than bother themselves with such questions now

The fact that it works for you doesn't mean it is the best, some people may just jump at loan because of little rally on a stock, hence my reason for caution. The other time someone was lamenting that he converted all his money to $ and the exchange rate fall. The Zenith example you cited was during Covid-19 when the market was down which is good example to encourage people to take loan for shares, I also cited an opposite situation for people to be cautious. If you kill greed in investment you will never regret any investment decision, you build wealth, you don't acquire it overnight, unnecessary aggressiveness always lead to tears.

Nigeria Brewery in the past used to be one the best performing stocks on dividend and price appreciation with good fundamentals, what happen sometimes ago? Imagine if one take loan to buy FBN and Femi Ote$ decided to exit today, what do you think will happen? Those that bought Intercontinental and PHB in the past did due diligence as well.

You can state your opinion on issues here and move on.
I actually share some of your sentiment on this topical issue as I personally don't see reasons why any one will advise people to go and take loan to buy shares.
Those that will get their fingers burnt are more than the ones that will be successful.

Good result from Zenith. As at yesterday, the Q3 ranking of banks according to PE ratio is as shown below. Please note that FCMB audited Q3 result is still with their grand father (CBN) for authentication; I suspect interim dividend from FCMB though...
CMP - Current Market Price
OS - Outstanding Share
PAT - Profit After Tax
EPS - Earning Per Share
PE - Price Earning ratio

Banks will continue to make more money in the short to medium term in Nigeria but the big question is will they match this with increase dividend payout.

What have you learnt about PRESCO?

You know that PRESCO borrowed money and spent N25bn to acquire a non profitable farm owned by their majority shareholder?

Are you aware that after pocketing N25bn same SIAT is now trying to divest from PRESCO?

There are FACTS behind the figures so don't get carried away with figures without understanding the facts behind it.

Not a BUY or SELL recomemndation please.

This is one one the reasons why we want you to be more regular here sir.

The more the dollar appreciate massively the more the need for Recapitalization in the Banking sector, as at this phase this can no longer be avoided. This means there will be more merging and folding up taking place soon.

On the other hand, some banks are set to enjoy some massive profits from this recent dollar rise. Though, this depends on the action of the federal government.

The banks don't use black market rate to report their earning. If there will be any appreciation, that might likely have much effect on the black market than the official rate so I don't think banks will be affected that much.

A brief Technical Analysis on DangSugar
-Buyers located in "Levels 1 & 2"
-Current Price hovering at Level 1
-Failure for level 1 to hold stock price will cause price to dip further
-Some minor buyers located btw 44 - 48
-In case price dip further down, next focus is: 32 - 38 (Not sure price will get here with the stock bullish sentiment)

Summary: DangSugar support level is below 32.20! However, before this level Chart indicate levels where big institutions previously keyed into the stock.

With the new CBN directive, will banks adjust the interim dividend or what? People already booked major profits on them. I perceive more turbulence for that sector.

Zenith bank already on first level support zone @34 , will it hold or kiss 29 before stability?

When the banking sector sneezes, NSE catches a cold. smiley

The CBN must have approved the interim dividend.

MARKET BREAKOUT FROM NSE ASI HIGH
NSE All Share Index breakout from its all time high at 66357.23 in August and have already started September in impressive bullish momentum. To sustain this four-month rally, the index will require additional bullish "power"; otherwise, we may be witnessing a false breakout.

I learnt that It would be concluded before the end of third quarter.

But I will advise you set December as your holding period

Similarly, I also learnt that Dangotesugar would be the coy that would metarmopised to DangoteFood where holder of Nascon would swap 11 of their shares for 10 of Dangotesugar and also holder of Rice would also swap their holding with Dangotesugar

This is not 100% confirmed but may be near the truth.

A big shout out to you @customstreet.
You are doing good.
