This is a very wrong assumption about this thread...
If the bolded is your reason for coming to this thread, then I think you would do well in entertainment/joke section.
I'm sure those that have benefitted and are still benefitting, especially in the earlier pages wouldn't agree with you on this.
You have always been sincere and selfless with your contribution.
The likes of CP, BBM, Sunrisepebble, aj8 among others are also selfless.

How come you know another person who is selfless on the platform, but do not know if you yourself are selfless on the platform. Or are you not. If you are not, why naa? E good like that?
He doesn't need to mention his own name, others can do that.
He is one of those who adds quality to the discussion on the forum though his arrogance can be a put off sometimes.

The ''market'', in this instance, are the individual owners of the rights, hence they have to sell the ''rights'' to those willing to buy from them.
I think the guy just doesn't see any reason why someone should go and pay to buy a right to own the share of a company when the same is available at a cheaper price on the exchange.
I equally share the same sentiment.

It's so pathetic what I am passing through in the hands of Meristem!
I sold my one of my shares on November 20th 2025, but uptil today the funds hasn't reflected in my trading account neither has it drop in my bank account..
I have sent mails to meristem concerning the issue 3 days ago,, but no reply or feedback from them..
What else should I do?
Send them another mail, I am surprised you said they didn't reply you..
They are always responsive though their system can be proned to some nagging errors.

Yes sir.
But the stock market also has underlying fundamentals unlike Bitcoin that is showing me shege 😁😁

If companies keep growing their earnings, their valuations can keep rising sustainably hence we can have sustainer bulls.

That's my point.

Except for times when the market gets overpriced and we expect corrections.

But nothing says bulls cannot be perpetual if earnings keep rising.
Yes, that is a major difference between crypto and stocks , the underlying business and numbers behind the quoted price.

😀😀😀 True.

7% loss in one month, and bear hasn't started?

How much loss are you expecting?

No be every time market go do wild crash na.

Average PE is still below 10, so these price levels should be sustained or even elevated.

I reiterate that the market will find support above 140k.
I don't bother myself predicting the direction of the market.
I just know that stock markets operate in a cycle,bull-bear.
We have been experiencing bull for the past 3 years, while it is possible for the bull run to continue,I also know it is possible for the bear to take charge.

Bear has confused all the analyses 😂
Na normal thing.
Bull equals noise and excitement.
Some are already nursing their wounds even though the bear has not yet started.

“Like I said they will be made to do so fairly. In some countries whereas the tax rate may be as high as 50 per cent, but in Nigeria after the deduction of all the deductibles from the ‘big boys and big girls the tax will only be 25 per cent of what they earn."

The temptation is great though. You only get one chance to acquire these refineries at give away prices.
Which temptation.
Even the man with brand new refinery is crying.
If OandO people know what is good for them, they will run away from those refineries.

Smart investors make money in bad or good government, devaluation or no devaluation.

It seems you do not care anymore if this thread is destroyed, maybe because you are not meeting your investment target.

That goes to show you are not much different from the people you critise.

So because things are not going your way, you want to bring the thread down.

There is a politics section where you can vent.

You are an elder, show maturity.
I guess he has already exited his position in the market.
That was the exact thing he did after he sold his oando.
The good thing is, market doesn't respond to personal rant, market will do whatever it wants.
Bull or bear, everyone should be prepared.

Few points I was able to gather from the session.

Before now we had a CDT act so unlike before where we had different tax acts and documents, we now have one signle law on anything tax.
Filings are to be done 2 times a year. June and December. Transactions that occur between Jan and June are to be filed in June, ditto for June to December in December.
CGT applies to gains in securities and capital market.
Loses can set off from other chargeable gains which means you can use losses from one asset sale to offset gains from another asset within the same assessment year. The old CGT law did not allow this until the act of 2020.
Non resident is liable to tax on gains made from Nigeria
The provision now also ensures that FDI also have to pay CGT even if they use SPV to run their business in Nigeria
One way to avoid paying CGT is to use the gains to buy another security within same calendar year irrespective of whether you made a gain of 10M or not.
Bonds and FG securities are still likely to be excempted
Timing your disposal can also help in reducing your CGT
You can use your loss making assets to offset your gains when you sell both within same period
Risked aversed people can focus more on dividend gaining asset since that dividends only attract 10% WHT
When filling your returns for CGT, all your refunds should provable. Contract documents come in place here
Same for when you reinvest.
Use all of those details to self declare your gains. Do not wait for the tax man to come and help you calculate.
Know what is taxable and not taxable, do not misclassify.
Crypto will also be liable to CGT
Identify Tax Exempt Table Income Portfolio abd assign more resources to them
Looks like even mutual funds are CGT taxaable (This one I was not clear on)
Thank you for the update.

It is a difficult period for some people.
Their messiah has been sent to life imprisonment, what they have bragged about was not possible .
The shock is real.
That is why they want the country to collapse.
Hopefully time will heal their wounds and they will get over the shock.

The money I put in Access today is less than half my transaction cost for my Zenith Bank purchase. I did it just for fun hence I used Bamboo. If I make money I will do something nice with it. If i don't then I turn long term investor.

Anyway lets see how it goes
That is the spirit. I wish you well. grin

I was in gtb few days ago to do a transaction and the bank was operating fine. Nothing to fear. Index will do what index do. The real world business will do it's own things
Banks shares respond more to dividends than they do to p.e or book value.
I am not sure if access will pay any dividend this current year and if they don't pay it will be a long journey unless we have a general bull run again.

You mean long bullish runs can cause some ''insanity'' or ''madness'' in the market?
Please, some of us like that kind of madness ooo. We need it badly grin grin
With all the money you have made in the last three years huh grin grin
Maybe if you have sold your OandO at N95 ...... grin grin
But seriously,it is not possible for the bullish runs to continue forever.
