Islam › When They Mock And Scorn You... Surah Al-Anfâl vs 49-51 by pmc01(op): 10:45am On Feb 22, 2013
And when the unbelievers and hypocrites mock and scorn you, do not despair, but reflect, thus:
49) When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was a disease (of disbelief) said: "These people (Muslims) are deceived by their religion." But whoever puts his trust in Allâh, then surely Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
50) And if you could see when the angels take away the souls of those who disbelieve (at death); they smite their faces and their backs, (saying): "Taste of the punishment of the blazing Fire."
51) "This is because of that which your hands have forwarded. And verily, Allâh is not unjust to His slaves." -Sûrah Al-Anfâl, Qur'an 8:49-51.
Subhanallah!
Allahu akbar!
Indeed! Allâh is sufficient for us as our Walî.

Literature › Men Of God Or Men Of Greed? by pmc01(op): 9:53am On Feb 22, 2013
It is a sad reality that today, one of the yardsticks of determining a flourishing Church is how much wealth their head pastors/general overseer are able to flaunt around in the name of ‘evangelism’. I put this challenge to you, thus: Tell me the difference between Bishop David Oyedepo acquiring a Private Jet of over four billion naira (#4, 200, 000, 000) and a (Dr.) Patience Jonathan acquiring a four billion naira (#4, 000, 000, 000) First Ladies Mission House? After all, the former was arguably financed from Church treasury and the other from the national treasury. If we chastise Mrs. Jonathan for ‘insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians’, should we then give Bishop Oyedepo a pat on the back for ‘elevating the social status of the Church’?

Islam › Letter To My Christian Dad by pmc01(op): 1:33am On Feb 22, 2013
“Speaking the truth in love.” This motto summed up the purpose of the village church where you preached for 36 years. The words shone from a small bronze plaque that we passed on the way into Sunday morning service. We didn’t always live up to it, but it was a beacon and a reminder. It told us to be truth seekers, truth tellers, and truth sharers.
This may not come as good news, but I would never have become a Muslim had it not been for your teaching me to seek truth. My inquiring mind often disturbed and even embarrassed you, but you never condemned me for exploring new intellectual territory. Your main concern was that I walk with God and live in obedience to Him. For this I’m profoundly grateful to you; it’s the one thing that lead me to real freedom.

Celebrities › Jose Mujica, Poorest President In The World by pmc01(op): 1:17am On Feb 22, 2013
I would say this is truly amazing. I hope Mr. GEJ reads this and learn how to live an exemplary simple life.

President Mujica lives with his wife, Lucía Topolansky, in a rural area in the outskirts of Montevideo. They never wanted to move to the presidential mansion in Montevideo. Their small farm, actually a land parcel with a rural adobe house, is the same one they bought many years ago with the intention to be farmers. When Mujica was elected deputy and later senator, the job consumed almost all his time and he could not take care of the house and farm maintenance.

Islam › Re: How Much Of A Woman Should A Man See? by pmc01(m): 10:16pm On Feb 20, 2013
All praise is indeed due to Allah (SWT). All body parts of a woman is naked, according to the sharia (Islamic Jurisprudence). The Hijab should therefore cover up her body wholly and shouldn't reveal her shapes and curves at all. It shouldn't give any hint as to how her body looks like.
The Hijab also entails being bashful in her conduct and interaction with people of the opposite sex, as well as striving to be of the best character possible at all times.
If you question why our women should be all wrapped up, then we need to question why you wrap up your money so much in the name of protecting it from being tampered with...
Did you just say it's because your money is very precious to you? Oh! I see. Let me proudly tell you that our Muslim women are much more precious to us than your money is to you.
They are our jewels of inestimable value... Valuable more than the rarest diamonds. May Allah bless and reward them aplenty in this world and the Hereafter for their perseverance, humility, dedication, commitment, diligence, forthrightness and faithfulness in obeying their Creator's injunction.
Please, read Qur'an 33, suratul Ahzab extensively for better comprehension.
And Allah knows all!
Islam › Stop Being A 21st Century Muslim? by pmc01(op): 9:43pm On Feb 20, 2013
It has come to notice that some so-called 'moderate' Muslims have been condemning a fellow Muslim for writing against celebrating late Goldie Harvey, who has been surrounded with controversy in life and in death, as a national icon. I must say it is very unfortunate for this set of people. This is what I think about them:
'Follow-follow no make me get common sense' na im dey worry many of them. Looking critically at their problem, you'll discover it's inferiority complex that has weakened their morale. They are under self-inflicted pressure to always put up that '21st century' Muslim show. May Allah save us from such disastrous calamity. Amiin.
My advice for them is discover their identity before they get irredeemably lost. If you can't stand firmly for Islam, you will eventually end up miserable. It isn't a curse, it's a known fact; you will just find yourself alone, cold in the wilderness eventually.
The time to embrace your natural identity is now!!!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Wenger Or Benitez (baba Ijebu Or Mr. Red Neck-tie)? by pmc01(op):
Looking beyond yesternight's nightmare cry, we all know there have been lots of lamentations coming from Arsenal FC fans and even Chelsea FC Fans as well in recent times. The reason isn't far-fetched - 'The Gunners' feel 'Baba Ijebu' has gone senile (and should probably take up a ballboy job grin), while 'The Blues' feel Mr 'Red Neck-tie' is suffering from 'Torresomnia Syndrome' (and should probably take up club's mouthpiece job grin grin).
The question now is: left with no other choice, which one of them would you rather tolerate- Arsene or Rafa?

Or do you believe Keshi will do a better job with either of the two clubs? huh grin cheesy cool

When a grown up man dances naked in the market square and you ask if he has mental problem you have diagnose yourself of a more chronic mental problem. But when a little child acts funny you may think he is just being a child more so when he displays symptoms of Visual Dyslexia; a learning disease that makes one arrange words wrongly.

It is this learning disease that the laptop and modem journalist called George Onmonya Daniel suffers and this is why in writing a rejoinder to my earlier piece on Goldie he refers to my article as “the ranting of an educated extremist” whereas he meant it was an extremely educating ranting...
Get the rest here...

Family › The 'intangible Things' We Could Learn From by pmc01(op): 5:10pm On Feb 19, 2013
A Father Emperor Penguin withstands the Antarctic cold for 60 Days or more to protect his EGGS, which he keeps on his feet, covered with a FEATHERED FLAP. During this entire time, he doesn't eat a thing. Most FATHER PENGUINS lose about 25 pounds while they wait for their BABIES to hatch. Afterward, they feed the CHICKS a special liquid from their THROATS. When the MOTHER PENGUINS return to care for the YOUNG, the FATHERS go to sea to eat and rest.
Subhanallah! Allahu akbar!

God is indeed uncomparably mighty. He has set forth some lessons in the process described above for mankind (of higher intelligence), especially married couples to take a cue from, viz:

> Take note of the unique sense of shared responsiblity of child bearing and rearing between the Father and Mother Penguins. The father is responsible enough not to leave the obligation of looking out for the children to the mother alone. The Father Penguin doesn't just come around to drop food for the kids and disappear.

> The immense love for its children makes the Father Penguin endure any amount of sacrifice for the survival of the children. How sweet that is!

> The Father Penguin doesn't pick up a fight with the Mother Penguin for going off for sixty days or more leaving it to endure so much trouble of looking after the young ones. That is love and understanding.

Really Amazing how much we can learn from those 'intangible things' around us.

I can't remember how many non-Nigerian billionaires that are scarily as big as this.
For God's sake, an educated and priviledge man as Adenuga should know better how to watch his weight/general wellbeing... No hard feelings please!
