Family › Re: Advice Pls by PofP: 10:28pm On Aug 26, 2011
This is what is called the seven year itch, most marriages go through this on the 7th year!!!!!!

Surely there must be some good things in the marriage? try work on the possitives and work on your stroking your man's ego, you would be surprised that the man would even take on a cleaning job to support the family if you find the right buttons to press!!

Try talking to him or asking him of his ideas on how he intends to support the family and do make him know that it is his role, but do not have this discussion with any sort of aggression( its all about stroking the ego).

Try talking to someone that you believe would say things the way it is and not just tell what you want to hear or try get some sort of councelling( there are a few charities that offer this free of charge).

Travel › Re: Breaking Into Britain - Documentary on BBC one by PofP: 9:17pm On Jun 17, 2011
It is surely open season on Nigeria.

I watched the programme and what I have been trying to figure out is why there was any mention of Nigeria in it.

I am not naive to see or acknowledge that there is corruption and that there are socio-economic issues , but did anyone notice that the only part of related to Nigeria in the programme was the possibility to obtain a genuine passport and that all through the rest of the show there wasn't a single Nigerian that the journalist met on his travels?

Why didn't the journalist tackle the corruption that goes on at the British embassies in the other countries? after all getting a passport is only the beginning of the journey right? you would still need a visa on the passport to get into the country you are heading to and yes there are "ways" to get the visa if you know what i mean and its seems that part of the whole story has been intention left out.

There are massive corrupt practices in Nigeria for sure, but there are countries that has corruption a lot more wide spread like India that the BBC hasn't picked on and I keep wondering why would that be? is it cos our people don't give a damn? is it cos we are all talk and no action?
Politics › Re: Ogun Assembly Nullifies Sale Of Gateway Hotels by PofP: 12:37pm On Jun 03, 2011
In as much that i understand OGD the not very much progress Ogun state, but reversal of policies is one of the main reasons why investors are always hessitant in investing in Nigeria.

When the said hotels were sold or privatised in the 1st instance did the lawmakers or anyone cry fowl-play?

I as a person would not be very interested in investing in a government/country were the concession might just be reversed by the next government in power!!!!

At the sametime government should concentrate on the business of governance and regulation and let the private sector do the business of "business".

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Should Arsene Wenger Be Sacked? by PofP: 9:33am On Apr 20, 2010
No he should not be sacked.

I remember in an interview he gave at the beginning of this season when he said that this is last season of him using the young kids and that if they do not deliver at least a trophy he is going to ditch the policy of playing the so called kids and start spending; well as the "kids" haven't delivered(pending a miracle) i hope he goes on and spends the cash available to him on quality players that are needed.

Romance › Re: Your Bf/gf Decided To Go Celibate! by PofP: 4:02pm On Jan 21, 2010
It would be quite a strange and abrupt decision to comprehend.
Some people here have mentioned that love and sex go hand in hand, if you look at the statistics of those who said so you would notice that the majority would be male, the honest truth is that most of us men/males see sex and love as one of the same and for some strange reason females are more able to separate the two.
When a man starts chatting up a woman its classed as the 'chase' and when she agrees then the deed has to be done to consummate/seal the relationship then we class that as dating(whatever the type of relationship might be as in boy friend/girlfriend or just sexual), that is just the natural way things should progress in a mans view, now to call a halt to an action that has been part of the way of consummating the said relationship would be calling a halt to the whole relationship, only if you are very strong, have options or believe in DIY. grin
Politics › Re: Ex-governors, Senators Barred From U.S. by PofP: 4:09pm On Jan 07, 2010
If this is true, then all American businesses in the country should pack their bags and goo back to their country, I am not supporting the fact that ex and present politicos should not be banned from travel, but this is just bullying tactics(if the report is correct)!!!!!!

Nigerians are not terrorists and the Americans have always been happy to conveniently take our oil cheaply, the actions of one stupid man should not taint the reputation of 180million people or make them be labelled as such!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Music/Radio › Re: Reuben Abati Vs Banky W: A Must Read! by PofP: 12:30pm On Jun 25, 2009
Apart fron the chap (Mr Abati) really goofing in this write-up, i have never really had much respest for him unlike most of his readers or followers out there, my main reason for this is that i don't have time for people who always speak negatively about our great country "Naija" or about the people or about the going-ons out there.
I have not come across an article written be the chap( feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) that actually paints the people or the country in a positive light!!!, a friend (that worships Mr Abati) emails the chaps articles every friday and i have always told him about my view about the chaps negativity; i am not quite sure how old Mr Abati is, but dude we need to start believing in ourselves as a people and appreciate the products( music and movies including) that we produce whatever the generation, i have friends from all over the world and i am so damn proud when i hear them singing or dancing the music the our great "Mr Abati" is trying to put down.
I listen to all types and genres of music including my where i don't understand what they are saying, but that is exactly what is, "Music".

Well enough of my ranting, Mr Abati i beg you to please learn to move with the times and appreciate our people and product for what they are today and going to be tomorrow, same way as you appreciate the people of the past.

P.S
You guys should listen to the music of a lady called "Sara Tavares", she is from Cape Verde and sounds absolutely superb.

Well, one of them is that he has made it possible for you to promptly reply to this post.

- Created a better environment to do business( compared to before his terms in office).
- Created new generation of "wealthy" people( like your good self) rather than the status quo and i know a lot of them.
- Created a new "middle class"( before him it was just the very rich and very poor).
- Created the so called EFCC( like i said i am not naive) which people in business are still fearful of somewhat that they try to do business in ways that  are above board and tranparent; i know you are going to say he used the EFCC as a tool to get at his political enemies, but i still served a lot of good before things went soar.

I am not saying the man is a saint or was a saint, but he improve the lives of a whole lot of Nigerians including myself; we need to realise that the country has been rotten and going backwards for a lot decades, but it would not take 8 years in office to fix what has been damaged for a while.

Can someone please list the BAD things that this man has allegedly done to worsen the lives of Nigerians( i am not been naive in any shape or form) and i mean BAD things that can be directly attributed to him.

I believe we should also look at the positives in people and situations, while been aware of the negatives but not concentrating on such but learning from it.

I my point of view, the man really tried and improved the country in a lot of ways.
