Jobs/VacanciesRe: Bank Of America Recruiting Participants for Presentation by point45(m): 11:28pm On Apr 23, 2013
1forall: Why do you want to jump the gun? They wouldn't bother to go through all the trouble if they weren't interested in recruiting so there's no need to suggest to them what they already plan to do.

Did you bother to find out what a recruitment open evening is? Did you read where they said:

Remember you haven't even applied for a role yet, you don't even know what roles they offer. You're going for a pre-recruitment event so act accordingly.
Dude, do you know what LOL means at all? So much said I wonder why you missed it as a joke. And please don't get ahead of yourself, not all open days end in recruitment, some are just to stimulate your interest and it ends there. I don't know how a simple joke would just give someone a misplaced need to display shallow thoughts.

oladcity: Anyways, a word is enough for the wise, anybody considering should open his or her eyes and brains wide. I already sense a syndicate of scammers here.
How can u even liken this to a scam? If you suspect anything, just go through BOA careers page and do your own research. That being said, abeg who got an invite for the 25th? Got one yday. And yes, u can still apply.

Cmon ppl, don't play psycho-politics here by attacking the structure of his essay. Deal with the points raised. So question is: are these allegations based on the truth? If yes, then we all owe it to first bank to help them grow thru our sincere opinion. I know international companies delay,so wait, that justifies it? What's bad is bad. Someone is talking about not even being able to get proper feedback and you call him frustrated. Somehow I suspect that u guys are the first bank staff involved. And dat dude claiming tribal conspiracy, oh pls just shut it.That's a daft thing to say

If its a scam:
1. What have you lost?
2. They involved diff federal universities
3. Website plus sms notification plus booking multiple CBT centres costs money, means they have money.
I like this scam.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Common Errors Of First Time Applicants. by point45(m): 6:38pm On Feb 08, 2013
Ignoring harmless threads like this is why loads of people have no jobs. The trend is such that connections now look for merit. Its one connection to a million candidates so even they would select one or two over the rest. I don't see a director with one slot picking his cousin with bad grades over that with good grades. (2 nephews 1 slot, somebody's still got to jones). Give yourself the edge , just listen and learn, its free !!!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: What Do You Think About Jobberman ? by point45(m): 8:03pm On Jan 26, 2013
@opeawo: its either Nigerians planned to attack jobberman on nairaland or jobberman is doing something wrong. I like dis idea though, ask a question knowing what's coming, just in a desperate attempt to become relevant again. Nothing wrong with u wanting to charge for ur posts, know however that the companies u claim patronise jobberman have staff on this forum. I know humans like awoof but c'mon job listing is free everywhere else,if your premium is working fine, why bring it up? Again I ask u, I have a blog and I'm not greedy so I'd pay ur subscription to see ur jobs and post it free on my blog for traffic, how wld u address this? You actually think ur premium is working? Wow,that's taking taivety to new heights

Who charges a fee for posts that are free everywhere? If d business is looking to grow it should be through better thought out products, what's to stop me, a premium member, posting it on my blog? U ever tot of that? Better stick to generating traffic with d free service then finding how to convert the traffic into funds generation, wld hate to see another biz fold up cos ppl stopped clicking

Music/RadioFor The Love Of Hiphop As We Used To Know It- The Movement by point45(op): 7:24am On Oct 17, 2012
As a growing child, BET represented everything real. with 60% black n white videos, only about 20% of the names were popular, still you were sure of uninterrupted depth.MC's took solace n pride in the BET awards, which, beyond the grammy whackness, was the real and only validation to realness. Im sitting here watching the 2012 BET hiphop awards and it feels like everything done changed for tha worse,
Its effing BET awards and the illest MCs be rhyming about blinks ! thats just sad.
What happened to us? I definitely cannot be that old ! 20 years is less than enough time for the values of a people to be totally lost. clothing items meant nothing, t-shirt timberland boots, hoodies and u are good to go.
I mean, lyricist of the year KENDRIC LEMAR?........didn't Black thought drop anything? shame people....shame
I thought hiphop was dying, nope, hiphop don died and thats an understatement.
Where is everybody? and what are you doing?
you cannot be here forever,so how about you pass on the legacy.
How can you not know the members of the wu and still be counted as relevant hiphop wise? yeah , thats the generation we've raised.
Guru refused to do it for mass appeal, xzibit once shamed people in it only for the money and the fame.
If you can read this, you are the last of a dying breed (scarface), if you can help raise someone who doesn't think nicki minaj is better than jean grae or bahamadia, someone who knows that a rap track is lyrics first then delivery n beats, someone who would keep it real, the original hiphop way, then maybe you would have done your part in preserving the last elements of a dead art.
I guess from now, they'll ask......where were you the day hiphop died? (transformers + talib)

I support the movement for a new genre altogether, one that is defined around the original values that the grandmasters started.
ITS STILL BIGGER THAN HIP HOP (Dead Prez)

Maybe someday we'd find it,
the true intersection between sunrise and sunset
where mothers trade old tears for new smiles
and wives no longer dread that knock from the black suit

A small community that spans the globe,
where five individuals speak one language
and walls run around not through

The one true family,
where love is a default
and sibling rivalry is a race to show it.

The perfect closet,
that reverses beauty against nudity,
unzips the gorgeous character beneath,
and button all flaws up

where GUCCI makes bandannas, turbans, skull caps
and Paris moves to Mogadishu.

Maybe somehow we'd find,
that all of these branches are from the same tree,
the stability of which is, firmly rooted in unity.

Root,stem,branches or leaves,
the tree is one,the other and all at once.

LiteratureThe Superhero Called Woman by point45(op):
Is it me or most of us came here just to see the woman get showered with praises?

well, sorry i'm gonna have to disappoint you a bit on this one. Somehow, we never forget

how important the job of a woman is, but really, is it every woman that deserves to be praised?

hmmmm........maybe i'll answer that at the end of the post.

Now let us take THE woman that deserves all the praises. Now i'm seeing the smiles on your faces,

yeah, our mothers, our wives, our grandmothers (now some guys are beginning to remember the lashes),

our sisters (now more guys are remembering the fights) but come on guys, are sisters really that nasty?

can i get a Yeeeeeeeah!.

OK, back to business, not all sisters are evil ones. In fact, no sister is evil,

just that some of our younger siblings act their ages and somehow, the tension never goes away.

And as for grandmothers, God rest the souls of those departed, some of them? meeeeeaaaaaan.

I guess we owe our parents that, they must have been so stubborn growing up that the grannies go,

'no way you are attending that party young man'.

OK , all mothers are good but we are not looking at them as mothers now are we?

lets look at every woman as a partner, wife or spouse. Do they all deserve to be showered praises? hesitations right?

I mean isn't our partner the only one that deserves commendation? yeah i know the feeling.

Women, hmmmmm, guys, i'm seriously gonna have to sell out here.

Here's why, our assessment of women should be based on our experience with them,

so if for over a decade I have had enough reasons to be with the same woman,

there has got to be something she's doing right. The same way, a lot of men all over the world share this feeling,

so why do we always find it hard to celebrate them? feels to me like its either we are too loaded with ego

to admit that we depend on them to be who we are, or we have hidden plans somewhere.

WHY DON'T MEN CELEBRATE THEIR PARTNERS ENOUGH?

is it because they don't deserve it? clearly , NO. yet, it just seems to happen.

A woman is......................sorry people, i'll make it personal,

MY woman is the personification of the blessing that I always ask God for, the other bit of me that's missing when you find me off track,

the reason, the essence, the sun moon and stars in my universe. She is the station I come back to for the strength reload God has sent me.

I am not looking for a special meal tonight, I'm just being real.

We never stop learning and I recently just realised how important it is to keep her motivation high

by reminding her how much she means and how much she is appreciated.

We don't want women to make assumptions about us, so how about we stop making assumptions that they know how we feel.

If my woman makes me feel like a million bucks, she gets to see a million bucks worth of value.

It doesn't have to be a diamond bracelet (though they would prefer that),

it doesn't have to be a trip to Paris or London, just find your own way of showing

her appreciation and she'll come back to give you more.

Now,to answer the question raised: DO ALL WOMEN DESERVE TO BE SHOWERED WITH PRAISES?

I'm thinking YES !

If you cannot ask yourself this same question and answer yes, then brother, you have a discussion pending,

in fact you have one with yourself and the other with your partner. There's a reason you fell in love with this angel,

that reason is there still, somehow buried in whatever layers of filth she has endured for you.

Pick her up, clean her and wipe her tears, then make her feel like she truly deserves to feel,

you owe it to her and yourself.after all, she is your lady!
