Our Lord Jesus died on the cross of Calvary and suffered the punishment for sin which is death but on the third day He rose again.
By believing in Jesus and repenting from your sins, you avoid the eternal damnation the just punishment for sinners by our just God and receive His free gift of eternal life.

God’s grace is sufficient for all that are His and His strength made perfect in our weaknesses, before the foundation of the world, He chose us, not us that chose Him to be His children that would serve before Him by His Spirit in holiness and righteousness, doing all things to His glory, remember He is our GOD and also our FATHER!

And at the center of it all is our Lord JESUS CHRIST, who sacrificed Himself for God’s chosen, it was not easy at all, He didn’t just die on the cross of Calvary, He took away all the sin of the world, all His enemies, powers, principalities, rulers of darkness of this age and spiritual hosts of wickedness rejoiced and all came to to Him united to destroy Him, low and behold, the pit His enemies planned for Him was the pit the they fell into, a trap in a trap, the power of God dealt with them, making a public spectacle of them before the spiritual hosts, disarming them of their power and authority.

But by the power of God in Him He overcame them all, there is POWER in the name of Jesus, power to DELIVER from the POWER of DARKNESS(Colossians 1:13) and to receive forgiveness of sins from God, washing of regeneration and renewing By His Spirit(Titus 3:5);
Sanctification By His Spirit and the sealing of His Holy Spirit, the guarantee of resurrection by Christ in the last day into everlasting life in the Kingdom of God, Christ lives in those that are His and those that are His live by faith in Him(Gal 2:20), hence the church is CHRIST ALL AND IN ALL.

There is the celestial body and the terrestrial body, and the glory of each differs just like how the glory of the sun is different from the glory of the moon and how that is also different from the glory of the stars.
The body sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruptible.
The body sown in dishonor, raised in glory.
The body sown in weakness, raised in power.

1. Our lord Jesus has stood up from the throne and it is not in vain, He is coming and will not tarry, that is not waste time.
37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
2. Final exhortations.
I) Hold fast to your confession of faith in Christ.

◻️MAIN TAKEAWAY
Be merciful to those who have wronged you just like how your Father has been merciful to you.
Let me tell you something about your Father, He causes the sun to shine upon the righteous and the wicked, and sends rain on the just and unjust(Matthew 5:45).

Those were those who were invited, the invitation to the wedding feast, to receive His free gift of eternal life, His Salvation through Jesus Christ, His Kingdom is to all but those who rejected the invitation are not worthy of His Kingdom(2 Peter 3:9).
◻️THOSE WHO ACCEPTED THE INVITATION
The Father graciously in His mercy granted it to us to come to our Lord Jesus Christ and whoever comes to Him, He will not turn away(John 5:37, Romans 6: Such who believe in Him according to the will of the Father who sent Him May have everlasting life(John 5:40).
◻️IF ANYONE IS IN CHRIST HE/SHE IS A NEW CREATURE(2 Corinthians 5:17)
Such a person by the grace of God who makes one to stand is not a dog that returns to its own vomit, because that person is now under the grace of God, sin shall not have dominion over him/her(Romans 6:14).

Now we read about how someone who accepted the invitation, accepted the calling yet was not with the proper wedding garment, with Salvation through Jesus Christ and repentance from sins comes a whole new creature.

I also think that Pastors should stop preaching that speaking in tongues is the EVIDENCE of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

I agree, it is the Spirit that gives the utterance as He wills, no amount of tarrying will make you to receive the Holy Spirit if He wills not to give you, also He gives gifts in a way that profits the church of God, He helps oversee the will of God, He surely knows what is best.

I think you are mixing up two different things
1. Having the Holy Spirit
2. Being Filled with the Holy Spirit

Having the Holy Spirit take place just once in your life at the point when you become BORN Again. It gives you the SEAL of God and Salvation. This is what give you the identity as a Child of God. It seldom come with any outward manifestation. The most common is an overwhelming peace and cleanliness you feel at the point of salvation. This is your Baptism of/into/by the Holy Spirit.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a COMMAND for every Christian. We are to DAILY filled with the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit means being controlled (like being intoxicated with wine) by the Holy Spirit. Just like it takes a measure of drinking to become drunk, so it takes a measure of surrendering to become drunk in the Holy Spirit. When we get drunk with the Holy Spirit, it results in outward manifestations (an offshoot of the gifts of the Holy Spirit manifest) such as Speaking in Tongues, Prophetic manifestations, word of knowledge, Vision/Trance, Faith etc.

However, a few Christians may experience Both Salvation and Being FILLED simultaneously.

Many Christians actually confuse
Baptism of the Holy Spirit with
Being Filled with the Holy Spirit.

Water Baptism is a physical evidence to the Body of Christ that you have Being Born Again and can therefore become/included in the church. A person who is not born again but is baptized is NOT known by Christ!

I need your advice on how to go about with this. I am born again and I have been baptized for years now and yet I don't feel like I posses the holy spirit it's something I want really badly and yet I don't see myself receiving it.
