Larry1960: Yeah that's the current reality of what the floating policy Tinubu has brought The only cheapest school in d UK right now is teeside university and Sheffield hallam minimum tuition fee there na 10,000 pounds (10Million naira ) + 10,000pounds(#10m survival money) + Ihs and visa fee (1.5M minimum) flight ticket is currently hovering around 1.5-2.5m Add this up This is only the cheapest two schools in UK right now. 99percent of schools in UK their tuition fee alone na 15-20million pounds exclusive of 10M pounds for Survival. I spoke with my guy this evening he said he is regretting he lost 5Million naira the school for Uk refused to refund back his 5M tuition deposit when denied Visa He told me he's currently paying the 5M debt now . I felt for him I ask am shey you no read refund policy before That teeside sef don cast cos there are no jobs for that side in UK . The school don cast because it's the cheapest and people dey Rush the school cos it's very very cheap. Hopefully the exchange rate go come down as Dangote refinery starts refining oil . My guy was telling me to divert my money buy buying dollars and keeping it I tell am say no it's very volatile e better make I convert my money back to property by doing land banking or investing in transportation business
Canada sef wey cheap before na die Cad we be 333naira is now 580 @ oando rate. Canada requires like 28cad = 16M + flight ticket 1.5m = that's like #17M
UK 28,000 pounds go give you = #28Million naira
Tinubu don make naira more worthless My guy too have school fees to pay CA. I do my talks with receipts. All he need right now is to pay the fees nd pof to show he is capable. When he gets there he can work and paying the rest fee if he can pay certain percent now

Conner44: Yes i am. I have been a professional driver once upon a time before. Interstate cargo and passenger delivery. I worked as a driver with a company for 5 complete years hauling goods and people all over the southern part of Nigeria. At that time there was nothing like ehailing.
I am now professionally into logistics but there is nothing I haven't experienced concerning driving as a business.
So why do you think I'm always on this thread? Maybe it's because I still drive once in a while or maybe I have a vehicle given to someone to drive on my behalf.
You can pick any one you feel would sound better as my answer Laugh 😂 won injure me. I’ll always help my oga Uber/Bolt is different from whatever you may have been through. Yesterday I was coming to Lagos from Asaba on bus since I don’t have money for flight. Took Delta line. Nigga was just stopping anyhow doing his own runs, you go like talk? From the manager to the driver are kolo mental. Try that on Bolt or uber, if away is not your name. Bus that used to be 8k is not 15/18k… you check the difference and see what those guys are making. MrCarter577: Unemployment rate in 🇳🇬 today is > 40%. In a country where we have more churches than industries, why won't people take up taxi driving? Why do we like to chastise people making a honest living? They hail Yahoo boys and runs girls, but insult Uber drivers. People who haven't seen life in 3D have much to say about others. Rest I totally agree to your submission. If you’ve found the story of elupee fixing transmission and one PDP guy was insulting him. That’s the society we’ve found ourselves. Where parents take their children to special center. Parents help their children as accomplice in yahoo. You spend money today and no one will ask where you get the money from, but ask if you question poverty days. I have been sitting on this morally inclined lifestyle and I will tell you it is not easy. The decay in our society is something else. Who you know? Where you live? What kind of car you drive nd phone you use? Even our pastors have dilute the words to the level motivational speakers. They no longer preach about heaven, but wordly things. Barely anyone is left out of this mentality boss and won’t blame them. Value truly matters in life. |

fk001: People come from different class/level and different schools of thought.
Some are into Uber job because life happened to them, not by choice maybe they are just doing it just to sustain themselves for a while and also making their plan to move forward. Such people have never dream of becoming Uber driver for once. This class of people will never be proud to be called Uber drivers because is not their calling or what they wanted to be.
While some people start from the bottom pit and climb up to be Uber drivers, to them this is the height of success because they can solve their immediate and basic needs, after all, they have nothing to lose they have come a long way to reach Uber driving status. Such class of people no matter how you try to convince them that the job is not paying or they should plan for exit, they won't heed to your advice, their mind is already comfortable with the driving job.
All of you here know where you belong to, either class A or B.
In a nutshell, a bank manager that lost his job to join Uber driving, his mind will never be at ease with the job he will look for alternatives. While an Agbero/conductor that joined Uber driving will always see it as an eldorado or job that is full of milk and honey.
Know your level and choose what works for you!! The lord will not shame you. I love this flow and everyone views. No need for violence I have relative in his 50s in his 20s to 40 in was a big man. Worked in the bank to the point of general manage. Built his with and kids during this period till Sanusi happened. He was at home for 2 years with nothing to do. His profile was this high with waiting for slot from Fg appointment. One day is friend saw him at the market lifting personal load for the family to her trunk. Who go believe oga is helping the house. This is friend knew what happened to him and all effort to make him see it’s not as it seem. He kept saying my relative don’t want to open up. He gave him some money that day. Nah wetin life reduce man to be that. Recently his younger brother with a bsc pick up a bus for commercial purpose. With all the connections, naija hard. So I sat and ask myself for that 2 years of boredom even if he have tenants in his 40 why not turn one of his cars to cab? May will not see e money doing Uber all in the name of dignity in labour. Yes I admit there’s dignity in labour, but also there’s a level to this things. Cheerful is doing well, General, pearl with his ajasa. I just feel will all should just continue to strive to be a better person and have enough to take care of ourselves at old age. Can this job substain you in your 70s or 80s? Glithronix: This is one of the problems oga pearl + cheerful have with some of us and other people. Like, is there anything wrong in being an Uber driver?
If a bolt driver has low self-esteem, it will be seen all over his face and his charisma. Everybody in my compound and close to me as neighbors know say I be Uber driver, but the respect I get from everybody is enough to say they see me worthy.
If I go out to meet my padi, na chairman dem dey call me cos dey know that Uber drivers dey get money (somehow). The mechanic I normally use, anytime I visit his shop, his boys dey hail me cos dey know say something go drop for them.
I went to a female friend's wedding yesterday, she works where I was working as a salary earner, as I showed up, omoh, see hailing from those who knew me in the company I was working, all of dem know say I switched to Uber driving when I left my former working place, cos I was soliciting for a car from some of the ogas dem that time. I do go to my company once in a while to help dem deliver some stuff.
My ex-boss and his friends were the chairman of the event, when they saw me, omoh, na them called me by themselves, na high table dem sit oooh. I approached dem with smiles and they all had handshake with me with pleasantries. People were just looking like, who be this person wey everybody know like this.
Those guys I met there were waiting for food and drinks before I even came, as I seated with them for some minutes and our tables dried, no refreshments showing up yet, I just went to one woman selling drinks and bought 4 bottles of best cream and some malts for the ladies on our table make we Dey use that one see front first.
We were later served food when the bride changed am for the people hoarding food. Now, this isn't to show off, but I am proud to be an Uber driver anywhere, any day. You're not feeding me and I will be shy to tell you what I do to keep myself and family in good shape? Who you be?
Na rental I dey do, I'm not rich, but I'm grateful to God that things have changed a bit and it's obvious in the eyes of the people that know me, even my boss and his friends saw the changes in me.
If I become a car owner tomorrow, it's definitely a step ahead of where I am today. I dress nice and neat anytime I'm rolling out to drive, I'm proud to be an Uber driver.
Much respect, boss. Read your post and I can’t stop laughing for some reasons. We that started out when bolt have their office in lekki phase 1 knows better. I wasn’t mad at Felicity for no reason, but as someone that has been long in this hustle, the least I expect is for him to insult drivers and try to drive- shame the ones that have left. Which does mean he won’t drive one day. I have seen enough in and out. Nah situations they determine our fate in most case. For me I’ll say it is not about what you think sometimes, but people perception. Just like Baze will say a driver can’t save up to a million in this business and they will also say drivers borrow this and that. An average Nigerian does not even think an Uber driver can eat 3 meals in a day. So why won’t they look down on one? I have completed 7000 plus rides, if not more. So it is ok to have pick issues with few riders and the first thing they attack is your hustle. If we all remember days riders will threaten to report and take away source of livelihood, because they felt one is completely useless and can’t get any other thing doing outside this. One girl don tell me say you get life nah em you come deh do Uber. I pull over and scold her that day. Someone that is still begging over the phone for a 50k job. I have a boss that told me something this year, because he always want me to leave the shore of this country. His daughter gained admission to study out there for 2 years. And he told me you are dropping her at the airport as an undergraduate, you may be the one to go pick her as a graduate. Think about it. Jesu! Omo the alarm still deh ring in my head. As much as I have been working for him for 2 years and he is always in and out of the country at 60. He obviously know what he is telling me. We sit and chat. He still called me yesterday. On Friday we are on the phone for almost an hour. People that hangs around you see the potential in you that you can’t even see. Good or bad is relative. Won’t say more than this. I am not ashame of the hustle. Anyone that knows me, will tell you I’m fine in my own lane. E still get some skele wey you go hide game from. It’s all about view and understanding the monkey you want to catch. I don’t know why we always do this. I have neighbors and friends I don’t even know what they do for a living or why they earn. An average Uber driver is fighting low self esteem for real. |

GeneralZodd: Bolt rider jam better Bolt driver today.
Today i picked up one lady at Opebi to Billings way, the trip ended N1,400. She mistakenly sent N14000 to me and alighted from the car. I didn't bother to check because I was busy chasing surge trips. Later this evening she called to notify me about the error. I login to my mobile app to check my balance, I found out that she actually sent 14k. She begged and begged me to send her the remaining balance. I was so touch with compassion and sent the money back to her. She called and tanked me. She didn't believe I could send the money complete.
Moral of the story.
I was reading some comments on Bolt Instagram page some weeks back. The negative comments about bolt drivers stealing from riders is massive. Riders have this wrong perception about drivers to be thieves, not trustworthy, and very criminal and dubious. That alone is giving Bolt a bad name, spoiling the brand and making drivers to not be respected and downgraded as potential thieves.
Alot of drivers would block this lady's number, keep the money and not send it back to her. This is act of kindness is what we should emulate and change the perception these riders have about us. It's really so important.
The comments I saw is really disturbing. We need to change the narrative. God bless u General. Last month I begged a driver to return a lady 5k. From the way he was laughing you can tell he is a hardened criminal. And I don’t even know how to even settle the matter because it is a case of two thieves. The lady got to her destination and transfer the money before his boyfriend came out. The guy came out and ask to do transfer, as our ladies be. She allowed him to do the transfer nd wink the driver for refund. Guy man no gree refund. Such a shame The only one I know I could be guilty of like twice is forgetting cream or sunglasses. Pending on the vibes, I’ll park and ask them to come get it. Won’t drive back 4km on a 2k trip. Reasonable riders will beg nd we may reach negotiation. Some we threaten to report no wahala, since you’ve got the mind to threaten to report. Either you find your way to bolt office to claim your belongings or meet me at waiting point. Once saw iPhone 7 and returned it to the owner without stressing him a bit. |

Today I saw trip from Obafemi awolowo ikeja to Yaba for 4k. This used to be 2800. A driver on indrive can gross 25k daily, multiply that by 5 days and you will have 125. Gas of 55k should get that at least. Commission of 12500 and the rest is yours to decide on. I never said the hustle is the best thing. I am just trying to simplify it. Let Pope breathe |
