Pearl1910: No, what I mean is that Felicity too may not have known the full extent of the damage in d car if it actually looked good physically. So we can't completely blame him for marketing and selling a bad car. It's possible he also was deceived, plus the fact that Fasasi's mechanic came along, then we can't completely crucify Felicity for the discoveries afterwards. As for the fight, let's leave that completely cos d mechanic is not here, we don't know what caused d fight and since both parties have said mechanic eventually collected 50k then it's proof the money ontop was shared by other parties involved in the deal.
Come to think of it, did Fasasi's mechanic who is his relative not collect anything for that service? I am sure he did, so why will strangers also not collect their share?
As for ur NB; I always advise anyone buying a naija used car to keep extra 200k for seen and unforeseen repairs afterwards. So even though u think u have bought a good car, u must still do one or two to ur taste. I am not judging Felicity or will I jugde Fasasi too. We are only counter attacking views. If both Felicity and Fasasi's mech does not know the condition of the car? Then we can as well exempt the mechanic that initiate the call to Felicity about not knowing the problem of the car and as well the owner for selling a benz for 650. I think all the blame should just be heap on fasasi for trying to by a Benz of 650 while expecting heavenly ride. On the flip he may have been misled to think that could take him far. But by who? I don't know Let me be blunt with you here boss. I have 2 mech Bishop and Uzor. I once say all cars have it value regardless of how bad it is. They know what they will call me for and what they will take far from me. The only place I won't fault the owner is, for him to reduce a car to 650k plenty plenty werey deh the car body. |

TippuTip: Even if na person mama, anyone who leaves their own daily hustle to assist someone else with a scheme of making money, expects/deserves to be adequately compensated in some manner. Anywhere in this world. The only exceptions are when someone is being assisted so that they can recover from a bereavement or an il!ness.
It's the same greedy naija mentality that makes someone expect another person to run around business-wise on their behalf, for free. That's why I will continue to say, we don't have a culture of being honest with each other in this part of the world. Every Nigerian grows up and starts looking for a mugu, we need to do better! I honestly like the way we are spitting it out... I'll employ newbies to take note of this, no one should in the right sense come out to help you. There's no such things as help, what will have is business. Dog eat dog world, don't contact anyone with the mindset of help or trust. If you loose guard, o ti lo We are all open for business. NB : for lack of understanding on my part. When we use words like "Car dealer".... are we talking about a registered car dealer with CAC or self imposed. I ask incase it goes the way of litigation. |

Itsrm: Na people like you dem dey even run street right under your nose and you won't know
To the issue at hand, Let's say you're an agent. I want to buy a car and contact you, the owner of the car told you the price is 650k last but because you know people will always like to bargain, you tell me it's 800k.
I come to you and price the car to 750k and you tell me to bring money. I pay you 750k and pick up the car. What will you do with the remaining 100k? Will you give it to the car owner that you sold it at 750k or you'll give it to the buyer?
PS: I'm not saying this is what happened here. I'm just asking you a hypothetical question. Nobody is above street running, I only tell you your format go strong. Right under my nose, pray I no catch you... I am not the type that even talk, my silence is enough to make you start sweating. They are differect level of buying something, maybe it us not just trying to be honest with each other. When you hear agent tell landlord to jerk house rent, it is for the good of their own commission. I will not buy anything and pay the agent, I'll rather let go. The only condition that will allow me to pay agent is if they owner of the said valuables ask me to do so and it is on record. Some will tell you to pay them their own and go sought out with the agent. Some will ask for everything and both will sought each other. Whatever happens between agent and owner is not my business, but all I know is I am paying based on owners discretion. If it is car? we are both doing affividat on his name and photo then onward to police report. If I am too stressing him, my money is honestly not meant for you. Find puppies you can control. If agent like business so bad, let him or her buy the car out rightly and inflate the price to whatever pleases him or her. |

FASASI1: The mechanic I brought said it's a good car, even he was saying the money is too much and Felix should reduce the money but I told him I trusted Felix judgement and because he was running mouth and telling me I can't spend more than 100k to fix, I decided to choose Felix over the mechanic. Even the person was saying Felix should give us some days we want to verify the documents and call the real owner but he said he has done that already.
Inclusion, Felix mechanic said Felix know the condition of the car before he sold it out, now, when you know the car is a problematic car why did you decided to add outrageous amount on it ?? I ended up spending more than my budget.
If you guys call it business, what if morals ?? What of integrity ?? He lacks everything. Money go finish but your name na black book he go day.
After adding 150k, he still told me to pay settlement fee who does that Is that how business works ?? I was in to selling of mifi too and I did my business with honesty, if a mifi develops fault after the customer had bought it, I will be the one to sort it out even when this mifi is brand new o, tear pali but I don't care of that, I will choose relationship over business.
Even the 650k its not worth it, like I said my mechanic said the engine is good so the car is good but as a car dealer you know if take more than good engine for a car to be good. Bros you picked the wrong mech, no doubt about that. Sound engine does not translate to general condition of a car. A sound Benx for 800k tells red flag all around it. So your mech saying it is too expensive tells he doesn't even know what he is doing, unless he have evaluate all the problems that need to be fix and match it with the value of getting a standard one. |

tojahh: The whole fault is from Fasasi Mechanic!
If your mechanic says the car is good to go for 800k. I see no reason why you going back to be looking for the seller to tell them you're buying for 800k.
When Felicity told you he's charging a fee of 50k. Then it's already business, in business you trust your agent not the Landlord.
My take is... If you'd bought that car for 650k.. I ask again, WILL THERE HAD BEEN ANY PROBLEM WITH WHO'S A LIAR? Because I am still trying to understand how you were lied to here when YOUR MECHANIC checked the car and pass it Okay for purchase.
I was to sell an RX 350 (2010) just 4 days ago, the buyer sent his mechanic down without coming himself. He said once his mechanic says car is Okay, he will forward money to us. Mechanic came and saw and pointed out what he's not fair with on the car and I told him it's fixable but no problem the price (70%) for changing those parts will be deducted. Mechanic now said Bros wetin you go give me make I for certify this car good to go?
There and then from experience I know this deal will break my neck. So you see... The problem here is YOUR MECHANIC. You trusted his judgement, as a seller, you'd do anything to sell your item especially to the highest bidder.
What I am not sure of is...
Is it the 50k agent fee? The 150k top up? The car is bad? Or car is not good for 800k?
What is really the problem here? I honestly like this your questions, since we Don beg make this matter go offline, they both no won gree. The question Fasasi really need to come clean on. When approaching Felicity, is he doing so in sense of help or business? Was the car a bad one? Why didn't he take the car to his mech rather then that of Felicity? The little relationship they share, what was his perception from the onset? |

Pearl1910: A picture of the car will say alot. Also, We weren't there, so we can only conclude from the partial gist released here. Maybe Felicity didn't want to give the mechanic his cut that's why punches came out. My take on this matter is clear, both parties have fault. Bros nah OG matter be this. A picture is just like being attracted to a lady. Nah when you enter come off, you go know if she worth the stress. A picure can not tell you the performance of the engine, transmission, electrical issue, ac issue, suspensions and more. You said "Maybe"? You weren't sure... so for your business partners, if there's a maybe, the next thing is to go physical to the point of seeking for weapon to use against each other? NB : The car has been with the mech and probably they knew the condition of the car. If the car was good as you said he bought a good car, they won't have been need to budget 250k to fix car. |

Itsrm: On the issue at hand
https://twitter.com/Carsnationn/status/1654103457106739200 You guys are really sounding half smart with this commission of a thing. Pardon my use of words on this. I'll let some things fly only if I want too. If I am selling a car to you and I know the problem of the car. For God sake it is my number you will have, it is my picture that will be on the affidavits and if anything happen it is my name on the plate number police will trace. I can not allow one agent to put me thro undue stress. Hardly any naija used car the buyer won't call the seller to ask stupid questions. So if I allow someone to use me as an instrument to sell a car worth 1m for 1.5m with the mindset of its not my business. When kasala burst, hope I won't be force to vomit what I didn't eat. NB : agent is meant to close the gap between buyer and seller and not to take money on behalf of buyer outside his own share. Abi nah agent una they pay house rent give if una won go rent house or buy land? I grow as crook, before you go fit run me street, your format go strong. If you as agent go over greedy on my stuff, you won't even understand how me and the buyer end the matter for your back. If you like know after sales, you sha cant ask me not to sell my thing to who I desire. |

Pearl1910: I think u got him a good car, being naija used, it will definitely have one or two issues. His mechanic also certified the car okay. He has also refused to post the pics of the car when it was bought, strongly affirming the fact that the car must have looked good as at the time of purchase.
However like I said earlier, in this type of deal where u r helping someone from this thread or someone u have some form of relationship with, someone u will still have contact with after the transaction, to buy a car. U should do full disclosure. This amount is for me, so so so amount goes to seller, so so amount goes to mechanic keeping the car or dealer. That's what I do. If u r selling a car to an outsider, strictly business that's a different thing. If u told him all this, he will not feel cheated or betrayed. So pls u guys should settle and move on.
Fasasi, ur only issue should be that he didn't tell u d breakdown of the money. And from ur gist after u told mechanic d amount u agreed with Felicity, he ended up paying those guys, this u confirmed. He even made a post about it so it's obvious he didnt chop 200k ontop this deal alone. Other people shared from it too. The issue of mechanic telling u he wants a cut of repairs is neither here nor there. It cannot be substantiated. Now, this isn't something u bring up in public to try to tarnish someone's image. It's a matter of understanding and maturity, which if u expressed ur disatisfaction and disappoinment to Felicity privately, u guys would have come to a compromise and settled without this public washing. Uncle Pearl when does the pic of a car indicate the value of the car? How do you expect a novice that is yet to even understand a smokey engine, the position of rpm know a mech that's worth it. At a point of buying a car or gadget like laptop for a first timer, folks follow intuition of people they can trust. Most of us today have changed our mechanic at some point, especially the once we started out with. Them no know work Truth be told, there's no talk in this matter. At this point I could careless where this divide falls. Good will is long gone here and I don't know if you are a Yoruba person. There's a saying that we can't be walk mate and at the same time not be able to say the truth to ourselves. Now you are talking about 200k, maybe you should also explain what lead to the throwing of punch if trust wasn't breach at some point. Pearl o smart ju gbogbo pet yin lo When you are helping someone, the least you should expect is appreciation. The moment you are tendering a demand, then it is business, not help. Make una pity our sense of reasoning, I plead. |

From all the epistles I’ve read it’s very clear what went down. A lemon was disguised as a lambo and sold to an unsuspecting newbie buyer due to the trust he had in a user here because of the way we all kept praise singing that same users name.
I’m sure at this stage of your lives you guys here are all old enough to call a spade a spade but let me keep on watching and taking notes.

Almost everyone is looking for comfort in truth. I remember the person that came here having 3.5m to buy a car. Advice from left and right, if he have pick a final decision, did you know about it? When kasala burst, you go put your head down make them use em break coconut? Fasasi is not a new name here, never even knew he was a newbie. Meanwhile on the matter on ground. I am honestly still looking for where a fault is. I have questions to ask the complainant.
1. Did you and your mechanic inspect the car before paying?
2. Did you know the amount was 800k and agreed to pay based on your accessment of the car with your technician?
3. If you had bought the car at 650k with it's problem as it were, will there be need for anyone being called a liar?
4. Did you agree to pay 50k commission to the agent?
Now to the defendant
1. Did you allow him check the car himself before payment?
2. Did you agree on agency fee of 50k?
3. Did you do a after she's follow up on the said car as expected of a seller?
4. Did you inform him if the general state of the state of the car before purchase? Yiu buy small apply bigi say nah bigi... I hear you On the matter, we can all talk this out as a brother. I was kind of disappointed in felicity and as a elder, I expect him to address Fasasi's concerns with some level of wisdom. I don't want to judge anyone as I feel we all can both make things better. When someone from here comes for help, I think moral compass should be the first foot and not business. Unless this place is now a ground for full profiteering. If I tell the guy about my commission of 50k, what's stopping me from telling him about the padded 150k. Either way, the probability of fining out is 70% and if being defensive will be my only way of buying myself out of such stain, then I am guilty as charged. Me bringing someone along to check the car or not should honestly not be a matter of concern when trust is in play. Cars can work well at cold and develop issues when hot. It is a mysterious market. I am solving one now and in every manner I am washing myself off any issue. 50 kobo did not pass thro me, neither did I take any side kick. Not trying to be holy as I am not... but you see anything issues or what will make me.to start explaining myself? I take myself off it big time. Is Felicity helping the guy or using him, that should be the question. Point here is, Felicity was entrusted as a big Bro, but he messed the whole thing up. They are too many flaws in his defense. Needless they say, they both should embrace peace and man up. |

Uncle Feli that is supposed to guide a newbie, or hands off if newbie seem to know more then him, is here playing Elon. At my age? You were ignorant at some point and wish Felicity could guide you honestly, but he is out for business. I said honestly in sense of relative. I always tell people in business it is not all money you will bag. Your brand matter, because that what people see and not the excuses. If I am a tailor and it will take 3 yards to perfect your clothe, if you give me 2 yards? Nah, I won't put my prints or brand on such. Both of you can man up, meet and find restitution where it matter. No point of one person acting smart over the other.
