I participated two years ago, but I missed it last year. For the best place to do ihtikhaf in Nigeria, please go to Ilorin. Lawal's mosque
Cheers. What's special about Lawal's Mosque? It is not of the three main mosques in Islam. So, it's not different from other mosques irrespective of any aesthetics there. |

A lot of Nigerians are oblivious of the systematic marginalization of SE and SS. There is a reason why Onitsha, Calabar, Port Harcourt and Warri ports are not in operation or fully functional as Lagos ports despite SE and SS/energy companies accounting for nearly 70% of all imports. There is a reason why Enugu, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Asaba Airports are not as functional as Lagos, Abuja and Kano despite SE and SS accounting for nearly 75% of all international travels. Something is not right if you have conscience and ability to reason!

Politics › 5 Lessons From Ben Bruce’s Use Of The Social Media by Positivist(op): 4:52pm On Mar 19, 2016 |
To some, he represents a voice of reasoning, to others he is just a noisemaker. Like him or hate him, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has become a voice to be reckoned with in this political dispensation in Nigeria. The Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District has been dubbed the ‘Twitter Senator’ by critics.
While this post is not anyway intended to show alliance with any political entity, it focuses on certain lessons productive people can adopt in their social media network usage from how the Senator uses his. At the end of this post, you may have to reconsider how you use the social media.
RELATED: How to Save Time Spent on the Social Media http://ibnamoo.com/how-to-save-time-spent-on-the-social-media/ 1. CONSISTENCY https://i0.wp.com/ibnamoo.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/ben-bruce-commonsense-consistency.png ben bruce commonsense consistencyEspecially through his Common Sense tweets and Facebook posts, this senator has exhibited confidence in bearing his mind consistently. He has consistently used his social networking pages to engage members of the public on topical issues of importance.
Be consistent on the voice you portray on the social media. You may become a thought leader on that idea in the nearest future.
2. PASSION FOR PROGRESS https://i1.wp.com/ibnamoo.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/ben-bruce-passion-for-progress.png
While some people use their social media account to complain, promote hate or discord, Bruce uses his to talk about progress.
Of course, there are problems all around. Some people are good at suggesting ways out of challenges. Leading such causes is another ballgame entirely. Don’t just express passion for progress, show how progress is sustainable.
3. USE HASHTAGS A major instrument Senator Bruce uses in promoting his messages is the hashtag. Most famous among such hashtags is the #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira which was an effort to promote local content in the face of recent economic challenges.
This instrument gives any user the opportunity to filter their readings when they search for such ideas. You can’t do away with hashtags in promoting your ideas. You may create your own or make do with existing ones. Make sure you go for lovely ones when you do.
4. INFLUENCE An element of social media is influence. People get to influence other users based on their ideas. Ben Bruce has become an influence others talk about however some wish not to. While not all his ideas are popular, many had been left discussing them.
Use the social media to build influence around your idea or business. Get people to talk about it. Engage your audience in the line and see your influence grow.
5. POSITIVITY https://i0.wp.com/ibnamoo.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/ben-bruce-truth-before-partisanship.png?w=581 Most critics of Bruce have consistently echoed that he keeps mute if the political miscalculations occur at his own end of the political divide, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) as against the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). Such should be expected as no one washes their dirty linen in public. He belongs to the opposition party and is just doing what opposition politicians would always do.
You don’t have to post your misdeeds on the social media. It may later come to haunt you in future. Be hesitant to post things that would put you in bad light. Positivity is of essence in this ‘world’ that ‘never forgets’. Think before you post.
What other observable lessons can you derive from Bruce’s use of the social media? Feel free to share the ideas in the comment box below! SOURCE http://ibnamoo.com/5-lessons-from-ben-bruces-use-of-the-social-media/ |

englishmart: they surely learnt from their violence loving foolish fathers They have been brainwashed into believing that [b] Salam alaikum is a better education than solving algebraic equations Algebra is of Arab/Islamic origin. Don't expose your ignorance. Pheals: Does gals are Muslim ... they learn the Islamic wey to core that's what they are taught no education but they are religiously educated themall: This is not a case of what these children see on TV. It is also not a case of ordinary parents slacking in their responsibilities. It is a joint or community responsibility issue in the Islamic North among my people. They refuse to accept that without formal schooling the society will become a jungle with an inability for the youths to live like civilized people. The many years of hate propaganda being preached by religious leaders and politicians against anything western and anything non-Islamic for selfish ends must stop. How sensible was that? So 'Islamic North' encourages molestation? If we're to go by this rationality of yours, Christianity encourages arson and ritual killings since more of those caught in the act are Christians. Please, learn to think before you talk. The children are a product of their society. Islam doesn't encourage fornication or adultery as it also encourages parents to bring up their children well. There is no indication that they're Muslims or not. No need bringing your hatred for Islam into play. |

pentag0nal: I know a couple that have three children. They don't want another child and the wife insisted they adopt a family planning method. They have gone to the hospital and the family planning has been done but even after that, the wife has insisted that the man must use condom anytime they want to have sex.
The man is very unhappy about this and becoming frustrated.
What you think guys, ladies?
Note that there is no case or suspicion of infidelity here, the woman is so afraid of getting pregnant again. On no account should the man commit adultery. He should rather marry another wife if he can't hold the urge for sex. He shouldn't let the churches deceive him about that unrealistic 'one-man-one-wife' mantra. |

gcode123: This is kinda funny to me, i think he shoud turn it down.
As an oodua king im not sure he should avail himself so much so his position is not watered down.
Not all appointments are noble. And a king is only honoured among his own who share equal or similar history The function of a Chancellor is basically to conduct the ceremony for the award of diplomas and degrees in a university. In Nigeria, that position has been the reserve of traditional rulers since the day of Abacha. The current Ooni wouldn't be the first traditional ruler to be so appointed. I understand that the purpose of such an appointment is part of strengthening national unity. In case you're not aware, the Chancellor of ABU, Zaria is the Obi of Onitsha while incoming one for UNILAG is from the El-Kanemi people of Borno. Before criticising something, understand its purpose first. |
